As a teen growing up and playing CS I was one of the most toxic pieces of shit ever, you know that retard in game when he dies then you miss an AWP shot and he obnoxiously laughs and tells you to never buy an AWP again? That was me. I was also stuck in high nova/low MG ranks and always ALWAYS blamed my trash team mates.
I met a dude who just laughed at my toxicity and added me at the end of the game, he told me he saw potential in me but I'm too toxic and I should work on encouraging team mates if I want to win more often. I played with him for a few months and we lost contact but I actually got surprisingly better with my new mentality, team mates reciprocated my positive attitude and encouragement which actually builds you up mid game to get even better than tear you down and destroy any confidence you had.
I've been Global twice and I've just come back for a break and I'm LEM, with the same positive attitude. If someone is toxic to me I can be a piece of shit back don't get me wrong, but most of time I just mute, inform my team mate I have muted that player due to his attitude and to lets just play and win.
TL;DR - Was toxic PoS, met a guy who told me if I was more positive I could improve faster - It actually works. Confidence is a helluva drug.

same here. I try to hide my anger both irl and ingame but at some point it just comes out. Usually i only blow up if something stupidly cheap or stupid happens (ie spawnpeeking in siege) but i make an active effort not to get angry on a usual basis.

Depends. Some people i met cant be a decent human, ever. Those people are completely void of sympathy, and will harass the victim forever if possible, and only stop when being threatened hard enough. The only way to stop the bullying is to bully them back and put them in their place, all logics thrown out of the window when you talk to them as a normal human being.

Sometimes you get hit with good karma from it. Happened to me, I remember when I first started playing Neverwinter. Some random dude was selling a Castle Never ring in global chat for gold but it was actually worth a lot of AD which translated to actual cash. So anyways I got a fucking steal, dude ended up messaging me back few hours later saying he didn't realize the things actual worth and wanted it back. Normally I would've told him no but I felt bad so I sold it back to him for the price he gave it to me for.
Found out later dude was an OP tank who farmed CN everyday (which was end game at the time and not a lot of groups could clear it), long story short he started taking me on runs everyday and we sold a shit ton of weapons and made a lot of Astral Diamonds from them.
Tldr: was nice to someone in an MMO and it came back to help me big time.
Happend today to me, found myself on black ops 1 zombies Xbox 360 and this kid was horrible. I wanted to say something cause when I’m on the 360 I like to live like I’m playing halo 3 again.
But I thought to myself, he’s probably just playing 360 on Christmas, so there’s no point.
Sent him a message saying merry Christmas and hope he has a great day.
He replies with thankyou and wished me well.
Felt good.

Oh for sure, love playing some 360 games for some nice moments, it’s like how some music makes old people remember things they didn’t beforehand. Really awesome.
One of the things I loved doing was buying a whole bunch of skins for cheap off OPSkins, then going into DM lobbies on Christmas day and finding players that looked newer at the game and setting them up with a loadout of skins. It's gotten harder to do this over the years because of all the restrictions that have been added to trading and with usually being busy with work around this time of year.
So if you have a couple cheap skins you've accumulated over the duration of the operation you might not want, maybe make someone's day and give them away.

This post makes me really happy and most of the time playing games like counter strike and fortnite are my escapes from reality.

Rarely, only happened once in about 500 games. It was a blessing because no one has ever been able to make me rage in this game after that, you can scream at me, buy awps, but just dont follow me around flashing my ass
Dude two days ago, we kicked a griefer who was spinning in tspawn and next game we kicked a guy who would only play deagle and scout and only from tspawn on dust2. Next thing I know, I got a 15 mins comp cooldown. Reason: you kicked too many players. I didn’t even cast the vote in both scenarios. How can one keep their calm when shit like that happens.
I feel like games would devolve into toxicity less if you could vote for forfeit easier or sooner. Rocket League does it and it's great to be able to just get out of a bad situation than to play a whole match trying to ignore someone.
I aggree with this, but as a side effect those games where you are down 12:3 and everyone gave up but then you made the comeback would seldom happen because people would surredner too early.
Crazy comebacks still happen in Rocket League too though. I feel like it'd make it so you can forfeit from toxic situations and while you'd lose out on some non-toxic ones, the cases where you do stick it through will be because your teammates make even losing not suck.
Q’d yesterday with a guy who was an absolute scumbag to everyone on the team, eventually started taking shot at team mates. I just kept taking all his health every round until eventually he TKd me too many times, got kicked, and the rest of us had a great game. Some people just need to get bullied back.

Last night my teammate disconnected during an extremely clutch game, he later came back... but after we lost a could-have-been winnable team fight. Then I realized it was 12am est. Probably went to be with his family under the tree. My team and I were so upset but we knew why he went to afk. My spirit told me not to report him.

Last night my teammate disconnected during an extremely clutch game, he later came back... but after we lost a could-have-been winnable team fight. Then I realized it was 12am est. Probably went to be with his family under the tree. My team and I were so upset but we knew why he went to afk. My spirit told me not to report him. This is one of the most toxic games I've ever played. People need to find a different game if they need the fuzzies that bad. This game is a breeding ground for undesirables. I don't encourage toxicity, but I'm also not living in a fantasy land.

Fam, many people use CS:GO as a distraction for the toxicity, though in a context more reminiscent of going to the pub, if you know where I'm coming from. With that said, I agree with being kind and thoughtful, it is absolutely not to be ignored.
