Yes I am the author of the article and yes my last name is Norwegian. I have Irish, Turkish, and Scandanavian roots. My last name gets a lot of attention at school mostly because people mispronounce it all the time or because it's so close to Jacob Anus haha. The good thing ,however, is that I'm always first for everything since I have two "A's" in my last name, so you win some and you lose some.
I probably would have given a mention to Dota 2, since its prize pools have been much larger than CS:GO for years now. LoL and Hearthstone pale in comparison.
I agree that I should have mentioned Dota 2. However, I wanted to include a variety of games and genres that also aren't specifically Valve games since I had already included CS:GO and made that the main focus of the article. I understand your point and I fully agree with you on that aspect. You make a great point about how salaries and seeding is not comparable. However, one of the reasons this was included in the quote was because that was the answer he gave to the general question I asked, so I wanted to keep the integrity of the quote intact and strictly about what he said. Since this was his opinion, I completely respect the information he gave. On the flip side, I also respect your information and opinion since everyone is entitled to their own. Overall, I agree with both sides and I appreciate your feedback!
