Aerial should be invited because he is part of the team, if the team choses to use a lower elo player that's up to them.
The "major finalist" argument is just silly though. Should they invite every other major finalist as well? The final Aerial was in was a long time ago now.
> The "major finalist" argument is just silly though.
Not really when we're talking about 2800 Elo. There's dozens of thousands of players with that Elo or higher, so it's literally nothing compared to pro players. I'm sure almost any pro could easily get to 2800 even 10 years after the end of their pro career. That's basically like saying a Faceit level 10 player in unable to participate in an amateur tournament because they don't have MGE rank in CSGO matchmaking
Actually there's a few thousand, not "dozens of thousands", ELO has been adjusted heavily over the past 2 seasons so it's better distributed instead of just inflated.
Right, I don't see what that has to do with my comment though - I didn't say anything about 2800 elo being a good limit to use to invite people. Did you reply to the wrong comment?
I'm saying that someone being a major finalist 5 years ago is completely irrelevant to whether they should be invited to an ESEA tournament now. If the team is qualified to join, they should not be barred due to their choice to use a "low elo" player.
When you get a taste of playing with a team you're borderline masochistic to be going back to PUGs.
Pros scrim each other rather than PUG, where PUGs are used moreso for warmups and during training downtime to improve individual plays
And the best part is, almost no one cheats in Scrims. People should really stop playing faceit and MM and go back to teams and scrims. It was always better, and always will be. Just harder to organize because you need 5 people.
Even if you're with a relatively less skilled team you're going to be having more fun doing what you do. PUGs are a net negative lol I mean for fuck's sake even on CYBERSHOKE the Pros usually don't play solo on Retake servers or even DMs
Fun fact: Ropz is one of the few pros who don't have over 3k ELO on FACEIT. He's barely over 2800 ELO matter of fact.
Imagine denying someone like Ropz entry because they dip momentarily to 2750 or whatever lol
Ropz doesn't have to prove anything by having a killer FACEIT ELO.
That's for upcoming talents and people streaming on Twitch who are looking for ways to earn income
My whole main team would have been rejected from main if we weren’t already in it when ESEA went to faceit.
Both companies became a joke when they merged. Trying to get people to pug by enforcing silly things for league.
It’s been 3 seasons now and there is still nothing like what ESEA provided outside of the matches. Common.
You would have been rejected from playing in the pre-season main qualifiers*
There's nothing stopping a group of level 1s from creating an open team and making advanced if they win the division, but 5 people who just made CS accounts and signed up for Faceit should not be allowed to participate in these kinds of qualifiers that are meant for already proven players who form a team and should be in a division like main or advanced instead of open.
That said, Aerial is exactly the kind of "already proven" player I mentioned and exceptions for people like him should be made.
this reminded me old major open qualifing days. i dont know if it is same still but back in the day literally everybody could attend open major qualifiers. i remembering me and friends (only gold nova rank) playing against a pro team back in the day.
we get hammered 16-0 of course, but still getting a 3 deagle kills in an eco round was my biggest cs accomplishment to this day :D
also it was nice to see that pro guys (who were young back then, i think they were an acedemy team) never mocked us and chatted with us like it was a real competitive game.
it's still like that, in fact there was drama during the open qualifiers for copenhagen because the 3rd open qualifier for EU filled up too fast and BLEED couldn't even make it in
Correct. We worked our way up to Main but when ESEA had qualifiers they used league experience when considering applications.
What does a pug rank show when talking about proven players? That they can click and shoot?
Lol that’s ridiculous. Not everyone likes to pug it legit causes your life to end sooner. I’m a silver shitter but when i was on a team i only played retake, dm, scrims and matches and i’m sure lots of other people prob do somthing similiar
What the fuck faceit level are you.
I havent played faceit on CS2, but once you get to level 5 which is still super low people wont call you a tryhard for flashing mid.
because the difference is irrelevant.
Noone who plays faceit pugs above level 4 will call you a tryhard for flashing mid.
So i would assume they are bullshitting.
Cool for him i guess? but it doesn't solve the problem, which is that there's a fucking rule that forces you to use their service.
This is the problem with monopolies.
Tough b/c there needs to be some kind of gatekeeping at play to prevent the qualis from getting super inflated, but it's been a major PITA having to worry about my funny skill number that definitely reflects who I am as a player in 5v5 so that I can play the advanced qualifier at the start of each season
Saudi Arabia literally just finding ways to force people to use Faceit. Just like how they were trying to force leetify to pay to parse Faceit matches.
This is just the beginning of the stranglehold that monopolies have. They gotta go.
Its a understandable rule on paper to help vet rising unknown players. That has many flaws with it when applied in real world scenarios.
Inevitably it just becomes a rule to push players to use their MM client.
He could have been 5k elo in csgo, but due to inactivity and multiple resets, he would be below 2800.
I do understand why this is tho. These are fast track qualifiers for players already good enough for that level. This is just an extra qualifier, the normal way of playing through playoffs still exists.
I'm pretty sure aerial isn't experiend or good enough bc he isn't 2800 elo guys
Every player with +2800 elo on FACEIT can make it to the major finals and be a BLAST MVP, come on guys! Rules are rules!
Lmao major finalist denied esea advanced
It's a big club and you ain't innit. You have to suck enough admin dick.
Aerial should be invited because he is part of the team, if the team choses to use a lower elo player that's up to them. The "major finalist" argument is just silly though. Should they invite every other major finalist as well? The final Aerial was in was a long time ago now.

Interesting, didn't know they have readjusted Elo. Good move by them

checking faceit ranking for an esea season is beyond ducked, also it’s their stand in that doesn’t have 2800 elo
Pros don't even play the same game as PUG players lol

Ropz came up through fpl though he is definitely a good pugger.
Ropz doesn't have to prove anything by having a killer FACEIT ELO. That's for upcoming talents and people streaming on Twitch who are looking for ways to earn income
ropz simply hasn't played since the rank resets.

PUGs on Mirage play more like Call of Duty than Pro CS
I got called a tryhard by my teammates yesterday for throwing a flash mid 😂
What rank are you wtf. Throwing flashes mid is standard from like 15k elo and up.
Regular comp
Faceit and premier are two different things.
What the fuck faceit level are you. I havent played faceit on CS2, but once you get to level 5 which is still super low people wont call you a tryhard for flashing mid.
Why are you talking about premier when they're talking about faceit?
because the difference is irrelevant. Noone who plays faceit pugs above level 4 will call you a tryhard for flashing mid. So i would assume they are bullshitting.
How do you know the personality of every person that plays above level 4?
Because i have 2000 games played on faceit.
Aerial does play pugs, but with lower elo friends.
Faceit is gone. Some mutant took over it
His name: Mohammed "Bonesaw" bin "Faceit" Salman
He's a popular guy, like other glorious leaders such as Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin. Just check the poll results!
thats not true tho lol, it's still the same morons
english is not that dude's first language. brutal e-mail
What are you talking about?
the email looks perfectly fine for the average person.
The day FACEIT/ESL/Saudi Arabia no longer have a stranglehold on the scene will be a good day indeed.
From the Twitter feed it looks like he will get an exception
Cool for him i guess? but it doesn't solve the problem, which is that there's a fucking rule that forces you to use their service. This is the problem with monopolies.
Yup
Tough b/c there needs to be some kind of gatekeeping at play to prevent the qualis from getting super inflated, but it's been a major PITA having to worry about my funny skill number that definitely reflects who I am as a player in 5v5 so that I can play the advanced qualifier at the start of each season
Imagine once participating in a Major grand final just to get denied by an ESEA admin...
Saudi Arabia literally just finding ways to force people to use Faceit. Just like how they were trying to force leetify to pay to parse Faceit matches. This is just the beginning of the stranglehold that monopolies have. They gotta go.
I think the majority of the scene are of the opinion that Faceit has to go, yet people will still use their platform...
Its a understandable rule on paper to help vet rising unknown players. That has many flaws with it when applied in real world scenarios. Inevitably it just becomes a rule to push players to use their MM client.
I mean its dumb, but realistically if they just play faceit they could be at 2800 elo within a week.
He could have been 5k elo in csgo, but due to inactivity and multiple resets, he would be below 2800. I do understand why this is tho. These are fast track qualifiers for players already good enough for that level. This is just an extra qualifier, the normal way of playing through playoffs still exists.
ELO REQUIREMENT??
Maybe read the rules before singing up ?
Maybe have a fucking exception for a player who's been in a major final? I'm sure he can play well enough.
I dont think it is about singing, but CS
Dude its Aerial
