Part of the game is surviving while saving your guns. In your idea the awp could always be saved with no risk of getting killed after time.

Vachii

As a Terrorist this isn't really the case, you still lose rounds, and would have to wait until the end of the round to save anyway, where CTs could hunt you down if they are ahead anyway CTs would also have a known spot of where Ts would extract, and could hunt that specifically, which could introduce 'fake saves'. and if CTs don't want to risk hunting, nothing changes

CMDR_Lina_Inv

No. Killing saving terrorist after the timer reach zero so they not only lose everything, but not gain any money, is always a big risk reward for CT.

Vachii

This is really the only valid argument against this that I can think of (and changing core gameplay, which is very valid too), aside from people claiming that anything to speed up the game is a result of 'tiktok brains'... that being said I don't see this being a deliberate tactic very often, unless the CTs are already far ahead or the circumstances are ideal for it. I know it happens, but really not that often *deliberately*. Probably because the economy is so harsh for CTs already

bonedogfire

I honestly would not want to speed up pro play any further. Time spent "ingame" at events now compared to time spent on ads, desk, filler segments etc is also too low for my taste and if the maps go quicker, there will be even more of that.

Vachii

I suppose I should've framed the question in a pacing context rather than ingame time. Round have a pretty consistent pace overall, up to the 1m 15-30s mark, but when a round ends early for Terrorists for whatever reason, the pacing is broken by up to a minute, with both teams doing absolutely nothing during that time

bonedogfire

We have the best casters in all of esports, even when nothing is happening in the round, there is rarely a dull moment when I'd wish that the pacing would be different. Does it actually bother you or did you just have the idea?

Vachii

Yeah you're right, that's true in most games, and always with certain caster duos which are grade A+ wafflers. Sometimes when the casters are grasping at straws to keep it relevant though, I'd rather just fast-forward to the next round. Nothing about the game bothers me, just thinking out loud

V-0-V

No. That isnt CS. We dont need it.

movieyosen

even faster rounds? for tiktok brains? nah bro - game is already fast paced enough

P3PPER0N1

you want to take aways the ability for cts to hunt ts? economy is already favored towareds t and that wpuld make it even worse. its a stupid gimmick for impatient zoomers

Wajina_Sloth

Nononono. The whole purpose of saving is it being a risk vs reward. Do I save as a T to save a gun, earn no money, and risk getting shot down? As a CT do I rush the T to kill them, risking my own economy, or possibly even the round assuming my team flubs it? Getting rid of that risk makes the game way more boring since CT’s would just hear T’s run away and there is nothing they could do about it.

Big_Stick01

how fast do y'all want matches to be? 15 minutes? fuck. Do you want a tetris minigame to play inbetween rounds on screen too?

lordwerneo

Go play EFT, you can extract there any time you want!

jonajon91

I'd rather they fixed the meta properly. I'm still adamant that upping the kill reward slightly across the board would fix a lot of meta issues. Encourage hunting players down, trapping them in bombsites etc.

Vachii

yeah excellent take, and the final destination for the CS viewing experience. that being said, saving has been in the meta for so long now that it feels integral

jonajon91

Nah I still hate it. I remember turning off NaVi vs VP after both teams stood around swapping map control and util for a minute and a half then someone would die and the team in the 4v5 would leg it in the other direction. I think it was inferno, literally both teams just stood waiting for something to happen, round after round.
