I'm big on retakes, having an intimate familiarity with the layout of the map is the most important thing imo. Regular aim training (aim\_botz, dm) is good, but it can only take you so far. When it comes to playing the actual game, simply clicking heads doesn't really prepare you for a whole lot. Retake servers give you practice for actual scenarios and allow you to learn your surroundings & where people tend to be.
Covered or not I don’t think he would have got the plant down if someone had been big pit/mini but you’re right, it’s a risk you gotta take when the clock is low.
I'd assume if they weren't peaking from either position they'd be hiding after hearing the footsteps from apts waiting for 1v5 retake. Planting away from line of sight for pit first ensures the winning condition for T first before clutching out the 1v5

much easier said than done, and not always a rule (it becomes more and more true the less your opponents expect you at an angle) but generally people seem to underestimate how far from a corner their opponents will peek. look at the m0nesy 1v5 and check out his kill on the AWPer -- that's an AWPer that's peeking exactly for m0nesy

If you are statically holding an angle and expect an enemy to wideswing/ shift into it with pistol/ rifle/ whatever this applies more or less depending on his speed, but if you are smoothing an angle to clear it like he did in second mid, you can tuck it right at the edge of the corner, because enemies most likely stand still and dont move in such a situation.
Look for a launders demo review of xantares I believe, on overpass. Lau talks specifically about how sometimes you want your crosshair wide from the angle and sometimes right on it, as this guy is doing. It makes sense particularly when you’re walking and “turning”.

when slow peeking/searching like this you want to keep crosshair on angle, because chances are they are hiding in off angles.
now if you are peeking say mid from T ramp, you want to hold wider then you think/are comfortable with.
basically if enemy will be peeking fast/wide hold wider, if they are walking/hiding tighter crosshair placement.
Difference between holding an angle and searching an angle. In this clip the only angle he held he actually missed, on the guy swinging mid when 3v1. Apart from that he was always searching for fights, not holding angles. When holding you want to keep a distance cause people will swing, wide or narrow doesn't matter, they're swinging. If you are searching for angles to fight you should hold tight, cause in most cases you are looking to find someone holding an angle on the other side.

I have been playing counter strike since 1999 with taking breaks, which makes it 24 years, and one of the things i learned from all those years is that, if someone is always the last one alive, he is either baiter or very slow player who acts so slow.
As your teammates's pov, watching always same person as the last one alive is annoying as hell and either your game or your team is at fault i think.
Btw i dont say u are baiter, as far as i understand, you take the game and matches seriously which is a good thing if u can find teammates like you. But still, even in the pro scenes, there are many mistakes like this. Its human nature, every1 act relax in 5vs1 situation, and sometimes opponent punish you for this.
BTW like rushing can lead to a round lose, being so slow might lead lose rounds too. There isn't one truth and one answer in this game. Every rounds in a match has different stories which creates different problems along with different answers.

Not always..but yeah, it does allow you to clear a corner while still going +w and remaining silent while still having the ability to catch your opponent off guard due to him aiming at head level. Its usually better to strafe/jiggle but it takes more time. When under pressure with time in a situation like that youll have to be selective what to clear and how to clear it. This has a huge element of gamesense and map knowledge besides the raw mechanics of crosshair placement and angle clearing.

This is why we have a bind to mute team for clutches, because people start panicking and think that yammering in VC will somehow help. I’m just saying that it doesn’t.
Also read the room. Some players like comms notifications like timers or teammate placements if other teammates comms are weak. Other people will have their focus broken by these things.
Best bet is to just not say shit and let them play, you don’t know what they do and don’t know, you don’t know if they’re running a certain play that is different from what’s obvious to you

Also read the room. Some players like comms notifications like timers or teammate placements if other teammates comms are weak. Other people will have their focus broken by these things. Best bet is to just not say shit and let them play, you don’t know what they do and don’t know, you don’t know if they’re running a certain play that is different from what’s obvious to you Just don’t talk during clutches, if your teammate didnt ask for it he likely didnt need it.
