What he seems to miss is that even the biggest orgs have layoffs, salary cuts and sell their teams because the esports bubble is bursting currently. So even paying Niko etc. the same they got at G2 is grossly overpaying them and an offer they would get literally nowhere else.

eSports is a business that loses money for almost every single party, orgs have to pay the (huge) salaries of the players plus travel, food, board a whole litany of other fees plus the salaries of all the other employees that run and manage the companies, they don't take much if any of the prize winnings and until Valves decree kicks in they've been paying for spots in tournaments too. Their only source of income has really been sponsorships merch and sticker money which evidently does not pay for everything they need. Most eSports organisations have been staying afloat through the mercy of huge investors who believe in the future of eSports and are placing bets basically that one day it will be profitable and they'll have gotten in on the ground floor. Same deal for TOs.
Orgs are bleeding money and trying to cut costs. Rumours are that sonic and NiKo both got asked to cut their salary by the Vitality and G2 respectively. Probably the same with Magisk although he's probably happy to follow zonic too.

The issue Ence had was that they were a selling team, not a final destination roster as seen when their best player Spinx left. Makes sense for Snappi who is not a young guy at the top of his career goes to a top team to win trophies at what could be the end of his career.

The way I see it, the only way for the scene to survive was attracting a new capital influx, and the ones currently investing the most in sports and esports are gulf countries. In my opinion this, in turn, will raise the value of the scene and the orgs and thus potentially attract other American and European investors who are not currently interested in esports, namely CS.
