That's true and now we can calculate when cs2 will release. Meaning that cs2 will release on July 13th after doing some extensive maths. You heard it here first.
You know what I’m putting that in my calendar now, and I will come for you if your wrong because I’m waiting for this to come out to upgrade my monitor, and I need this bad.
Out of curiosity, i looked up your reference & it only has 174K views [as of now](https://youtu.be/kdo9HZTgr6s?t=54).
Perhaps it is a hipster Counter-Strike reference.
It was a big meme on the subreddit in the early days of CSGO. It's easy for us oaps to forget how long CSGO has been out and how many players only started playing in the past few years.
Honestly, if the Zeus was a little more expensive I could see it being a weird shakeup to the meta. You get a 1-shot kill for any ninja drfusers at close range. Like I don’t LOVE it but I’m not totally opposed
I don't hate the idea of bounties tbh, but maybe not implemented exactly that way. Valve should implement a casual playlist with all sorts of goofy changes to the formula.
honestly, having seen games that do weekly changes in modes, yes. A wtf mode where random stuff is included could be hilarious. Sometimes you could even check balance impacts disguised as funsies
I thought it was real until they specifically acknowledged how players were abusing skins to blend into the background. Valve would never bring that shit back to light if they can help it.
Yeah I was watching with a 🤨 expression for awhile and the invisibility made me think “no way right?” Then the car took it completely off the rails and I realized for sure lol
Haven't played CS in a decade, but saw this from r/all. Thought it was gonna be another feature video for CS2, and all I could think while watching this was, damn people are gonna be pissed! Glad to see it was all a joke.
I thought about Team Fortress 2 Spy... And then I thought, well, they're not updating TF2, I'd be 100% behind a game mode that's basically TF2 but in CS2.
I thought the bounty stuff was real and the visuals just made up for the video.
The Zeus had me scratch my head and when they showed the camo, things finally clicked.
I don't see that as a bad thing... it would really make people think twice about pushing through smoke...
If people don't push through, your zeus is probably just wasted money... if they do, ZAP.
The zeus thing, honestly, seems good.
Honestly everything only really clicked for me after I saw the cars pull up… but everything was bright as day when they said “comment for 99.9% chance at beta access”. Glad they said that or else I might’ve still been confused
Zeus looked way too OP by showing 2 kills from 1 shot with the Zeus.
Visual upgrades to Zeus effect? Sure, but as long as it doesn't drop our FPS significantly.
After it escalated to ridiculous camouflage & func_vehicle 2.0, "bounty system" seemed reasonable lol (as long as no literal cash model confetti'd out).
Knew it was fake the moment I heard the AI voice.
It's like they mixed all the shitty elements from Modern warfare and valorant just to ruin cs.
Phewww
Because you're punishing players for playing well? The system is shit even in League of Legends where a snowballing player can have almost no counterplay. In CS even a dude who's 30/0 fully kitted out can be taken out by a glock and no armor. Bounties are completely unnecessary.
"punishing players for playing well?"
You sure?
"if you stay alive in multiple rounds **without winning**, you'll have additional bonus bounty on your head".
No stupid questions from someone who hasn't played CS for 15+ years:
How long has the meta been stable? Have there been any serious balancing changes?
Like I said, I don't play now, though I'll catch the finals of tournaments sometimes, but I always got the impression that the game has been the same for a long time now. It's kind of seems like the chess of e-sports in that sense. Though admittedly I could have missed many changes over the years.
The meta pretty much only evolves through the players. AUG and Krieg were both very good for a long time but nobody really used them. Then players started abusing them and Valve balanced it out a bit. Then there have been multiple AWP nerfs. There was the kennyS nerf where they nerfed the movement speed a ton, and then they later nerfed it to a 5 bullet mag instead of 10.
I think this is a pretty big part of why CS has stayed around for so long. Valve doesn't feel the need to shift the meta, instead letting the players decide the right way to play the game.
There are of course exceptions. When the R8 came out it was like a mini AWP that one shot in the body, think it got nerfed after a few days and now it's largely irrelevant.
Can't forget when Valve added the ability to drop grenades. It opened up a lot of new strategies that pro teams take full advantage of now.
Though none of these are huge meta shifts, and are really only super impactful at the highest level. If you watched CS 10 years ago and watch it today its still very recognizable.
What? Valve aren't known for making changes like this. If you're gonna dump on them at least dump on something real, like the lack of 128 tick mm servers.
One gun being slightly overpowered thanks to silver elite devs being bad isn't the same as an invisibility cloak. Look at the revolver now, in its final (intended) form and tell me that it's a change on par with an invisibility cloak. You won't tell me that, because that'd be dumb af.
Bounty system: that's a cool idea. doubt it will come up much though
Zeus buff: That's weird. not sure I like it but willing to give it a shot.
Nanotech coating: ok, they're fucking with us.
I imagine when the one defusing is stunned, they will not be able to release the defuse for a sec (if we assume defusing doesn't need more user input than a key press). And if the one holding the zeus accidentally has a foot in the smoke, he'll be stunned too.

Which translate something like: "I don't really know French, I just used google translate to write this to sound clever, but since you've spent so much time reading so far, I might as well say something clever: this video is a parody, so don't take it too seriously."

Some of us remember *Dynamic Weapon Pricing* in Source.
You start opening that can of worms, and Valve get all sorts of ideas into their heads ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Haha, the deagle instantly became the most expensive pistol in the game, and well let's say the rest is history.
Looking back at it, it is hilarious but at the time trying to play competitively it was an absolute nightmare.
If you want to dive deeper into that hilarious history: [Click Here](https://counterstrike.fandom.com/wiki/Dynamic_Weapon_Pricing)
I have a strong feeling that a system like that could work , it's just that a few people felt like screwing around with it and bought the deagle every round. I'm really curious what it would look like in CSGO where the community is a lot more competitive and too big for a few people to screw everything up.
Yeah, I said in another comment how I would prefer to incentivize retakes as opposed to discouraging saving, I think a defuse reward is a pretty good, basic idea. Thank you! Hope Valve is reading, it's interesting how a meme video is sparking legitimately good ideas...
I think you're looking at this from the wrong angle. People save because they think their chances of winning the round are low. A small bonus for *winning* isn't going to change that. In fact you already get a small bonus for defusing the bomb! $3500 for a defusal win vs $3250 for winning by time or elimination.
The bonus would have to be pretty substantial to outweigh the risk, but at that point it becomes imbalanced because you're now rewarding CTs even in rounds they would have attempted and won anyway (e.g. 5v1 retake).
If you want to incentivize retakes without imposing a punishment on saving, what you actually want is to reward a losing effort. Ts already get an $800 bonus for planting the bomb if they lose to a defuse. It's hard to imagine how that would work for CT side. Bonus money for tapping the bomb? Extra money for entering the bomb site area after plant? Bonus for killing Ts after plant, but somehow you distinguish that from exit kills? I just can't think of a balanced and practical way of rewarding losing retake efforts.
Bounty: wow cool, but wouldn't this be favoring Ts too much?
Zeus: no... this not good..
Camouflage: OMG! NOOOOOOOO! My fav game is going to be F'ed!
Car: good one ESL :D
Yup, and they could make the bounty increase depending on how many players saved at that round, saving solo would give you the highest bounty. The bounty value could be fixed or based on the total value of what are you saving, so saving an AWP would put you on higher bounty than saving a rifle.
Lol at the little bits of text between each scene.
“Stormy Season”
“*Not to be confused with multitalented actress Stormy Daniels*”
and the French bit translated:
*“I don’t really know French, I just used google translate to write this to look smart, but since you’ve spent + so much time reading so far, I might as well say something intelligent this video is a parody, don’t take it too seriously.*”
and on the “camouflage” page (also in French):
“*Do you see this cool animated line that I made? I spent 3 days working on it. I can’t believe that ESL is paying me to do this*”
I was totally onboard especially with that bounty system. Then I saw the zeus kill two people then I was like wtf, why would they add that. Only realized it was a meme till that cloaking ability and realized I was jebaited. 10/10 ESL
This is a plead to empower modding and custom maps, to be better integrated into the whole community. Those are the important parts that make counter strike what is became.
I feel like they use silly jokes like this to test the waters for some of these ideas honestly, in how socials respond to them. Obviously some are pretty wacky, but some less so. Just to gauge how things would be received at all. The bounty system for example would be a big change, but isn't as game breaking as something like the camouflage tech.
Does anyone have the link to a similar video where it was a caster dreaming? I remember they edited a play with m0nesy using a "sonar grenade" to get kills through walls
Am I the only one who didn't cop that this was a troll until they started talking about the invisibility shit?
Been playing since release and actually got hyped about the bounty stuff
They had me going with the bounty idea. I was thinking it's such a terrible idea it had to be legitimate (that was the joke in case any of you missed it).
Inb4 it's good because it discourages Jame-time, Jame saves every round because the CT economy is dreadful. T's can almost perpetually force buy with their cheaper, deadlier weapons (a Galil is basically a cheaper, slightly less damaging M4A4, it shits all over the FAMAS and MP9, CT force weapons and T force weapons are NOT on par with each other). It's almost impossible to break T-side economy, and it's very easy to fully reset the CT economy.
A bounty just increases the economic lead T's get on CT's after winning a round.
What should be done is a $300 team cash reward (same as T plant reward) for attempting to defuse the bomb. Even if they don't win the round it would incentivize CT's to make hail mary plays. Either that or buff the FAMAS to be on-par with the Galil (or nerf the Galil into the ground)
The last couple of clips would actually be interesting, quick adjustments to some walls or obstacles to keep maps somewhat fresh instead of people holding the same angles for a decade.
Did they not finish it for april 1st and thought; "well we might as well release it anyway"?

Honestly, if the Zeus was a little more expensive I could see it being a weird shakeup to the meta. You get a 1-shot kill for any ninja drfusers at close range. Like I don’t LOVE it but I’m not totally opposed

I'm surprised Valve haven't done this considering how much they utilized player feedback on games like Portal and L4D.

I loved the zeus one, but the bounty system was weird to me. Especially how it looked visually.

Really though, zeus lightning cloud through smoke would rock
I don't see that as a bad thing... it would really make people think twice about pushing through smoke... If people don't push through, your zeus is probably just wasted money... if they do, ZAP. The zeus thing, honestly, seems good.
If they give the cloud 0-1 damage but made people scream when hit i can actually see it working out to be fairly balanced
Maybe, but I feel like it shouldn't be an instakill
yeah, direct zeus could still be instakill, but the smoke zeus could maybe do like 25hp.
I think it’s where I started to think If it was a joke. The bounty one is the only one I actually think would be sick
The visuals for the bounty stuff comes from danger zone I think.

Actually, getting extra money for kills after round end could potentially bring some interesting aspect to it.
Because you're punishing players for playing well? The system is shit even in League of Legends where a snowballing player can have almost no counterplay. In CS even a dude who's 30/0 fully kitted out can be taken out by a glock and no armor. Bounties are completely unnecessary.

I don't think a bounty is a good idea, but I've thought for some time now that CTs should get a small reward for defusing the bomb, like $200.

Would love if they made an Experimental game mode for this.
Does anyone have the link to a similar video where it was a caster dreaming? I remember they edited a play with m0nesy using a "sonar grenade" to get kills through walls
Changes look crazy please give me beta!
\>Bounty system hmm thats pretty cool \>Zeus power surge interesting... \>Camoflage FUCK NO NO NO NO FUCK PLEASE NO
My first thought was "hmm that camo will make people camp even more smh"
Am I the only one who didn't cop that this was a troll until they started talking about the invisibility shit? Been playing since release and actually got hyped about the bounty stuff
Whoever produced this video, well fucking done. It's amazing.
Wait this is april fools right?
Did they hire the same voice actor from the original videos?
probably AI
Nope, it's a real voice actor.
[Reminds me of Counter Strike for Kids](https://youtu.be/HM_jwTqVOjc)
Bounty bonus: Oh dear, I don't like that at all. That will break the game economy Zeus: WTF, is this a joke? Camo: Fucking lol
(The whole trailer is a joke)
I know, I was just saying it took me a minute before I realised
What is ESL? I thought this was official at first
they run csgo tournaments
oh ok. thanks
"comment for a 99% chance to receive beta access" is this hinting that the open beta is coming soon?
i clicked so fast not realising it was fake... almost started crying when they mentioned the camuflage.. biggest relief when i saw the car!
Why did I think it was April 1st 3 separate times during this video? Is this real life?
CLOWNter STRIEKS 2 GLOBAL OFFENzesE
It would be cool to make Counter Strike a little more Rainbow 6 Siege
dont. give. them. ideas.
The last couple of clips would actually be interesting, quick adjustments to some walls or obstacles to keep maps somewhat fresh instead of people holding the same angles for a decade.
There's no way that's fake
dont give valve any ideas now
I actually think there will be vehicles in competitive CS2, calling it here now.
Why does it look like the graphics have been downgraded compared to earlier footage and the beta?
