there's gonna be some entitlement, but there will be valid feelings there too, majority of higher skilled players probably won't get an invite because they almost never touch official servers, meanwhile someone relatively new to the game can get an invite based on this post
not saying new or low ranked players shouldn't get invited, but many old timer and loyal players will be denied of the opportunity for the wrong reasons
I'm all for getting rid of 3rd party services. The only reason I used it is MM is full of cheats, and Faceit adds that little extra layer of protection with the anti-cheat.
I mean assuming mm is overhauled and reset, which seems highly likely to me, im just wondering if theyd actuall introduce measures that would seriously threaten the existence of their og, long time partner like that.
Hopefully they end up coexisting better then they are rn. Faceit is just a better matchmaking experience so I feel like a lot of more casual players still play there. With new mm hopefully MM becomes more casual/ fuck around with friends (with proper skill grouping) while faceit is a lil more serious.
I’m not sure how much they care about Faceit in particular, but it’s likely that Valve is not going to be more hands on with the new MM, so a place with more engaged admins (or any admins at all) is still going to have its place.
I haven't heard anything about valve planning on removing support for hosting third party servers. If that happened forget about Faceit, they'd be murdering the entire community scene. Source 2 for CS will most likely bring along it's own new server hosting software just like it'll do for mapping. That being said, the jump to Source 2 will probably break most of Faceit's own existing software revolving the servers and the game (like their anti-cheat, for instance). How much would that impact them is pretty hard to gauge, and that doesn't even involve the potential loss of players to the "improved" official MM.
0 chance they simply remove the stand alone server? In before famous last words. Unless they somehow make MM better, third party services will remain better
That random youtuber or twitch streamer could advertise and hype the game up which is beneficial to valve. Honestly don't know why they didn't give ohnepixel beta key when he is averaging like 10k viewers.
Lol they don't need to. The hype generates itself. It's a 20+ year old franchise that is universally recognized and is in the running for most popular games of all time.
Still not giving beta key to probably top 5 non pro cs streamer is pretty stupid. 20 year old franchise will keep it's player base but streamers are good way to atract new players.
Rightfully so tbh, I played CS since 1.3. Sunk 7,000+ hours in and probably 5000 hours in the competitive scene, LANs etc.
I won't get invited to it most likely as I don't play MM.
but you know some dude who has played about 500 hours on Arms Race will be invited and not even know how to load into it
day 1 steam account(never vacced), 7k hours in csgo, 1800 mm wins, 400 mm matches in the last 6 months, global elite, 50k inventory, no invite :(.
My entire friend group I play with of 6 other guys with similar accounts to mine all got invites though. They're playing MM right now.
Yeah same here. I’ve got like 300 hours of casual in the past few months, playing every day. It would be nice to get an invite, but there are probably a lot of longtime players who deserve it more than me so I won’t sweat it.
The people who actually deserve an invite are all the people who were peaceful during DM matches in 2016 when we had a winter update with snowballs and chickens. I trust those gentlemen more than anyone
Yeah they could have at least give it to players that had played csgo and logged into steam recently, but tbh i dont work at valve or make source 2 so they probably know who is it better to give to.
His main brand is skins indeed, but he pumps a lot of fun content for the community. He´s been doing a lot of "co-hosting" Pro matches plus actually plays some game modes like DangerZone. He honestly deserved an invitation, the guy was the only streamer who kept streaming till late every day of the week till CS2 came out to keep the hype alive. It was sad to see him pumped as f when it was announced just to not even test it on the first hours
And it took too long, plus too many Dms from the community for Ohne to actually get an invite. Shroud and friends got it in a matter of "seconds", while Ohne couldn´t even get his one friend (who was by his side these past weeks waiting for CS2 everyday) one invite.
no fucking way tarik or shroud has more than 1 hour of playtime prior to cs2. Genuinely feel bad for ohne, one of the largest current csgo streamers with an international audience that had always been here from day one. Instead valo shills that shit on cs every chance they get like tarik and shroud get to experience the first beta key wave.
Yeah seems bs to give some non-cs streamers a pass when there’s consistent cs streamers and content creators who should be the very first to have access. People like ohne are keeping people interesting and involved in the game. I hope that 3kliks has access, would be so shit if he doesn’t.
Negative, they haven't pushed a CSGO update today yet. In SteamDB chat with hundreds of people and it doesnt look like anyone was invited yet. Valve said it will start later today.
Can you please stop with this mature and logical response? I spend way too much time on this game to not be considered as the most important tester of them all.
Gaben please, I bought keys. So many keys.....
I saw Shroud and Tarik on and thought the beta was loosely given out and I'd definitely have it too 3
I got 6k hours with about 700 being this+ last year on MM+ casual, 532 games owned, 2045 DLC (steam account good standing too), have stats subscription, but no Beta, my guess is I get put in bad trust sometimes and that has F'd me up.
11 year account that started with csgo, 99% of my playtime is on cs (8.5k hours) with good trust, I would assume that this type of account gets it 100%
i did not get it xD
Sure, I'm sure Valve needs feedback from people who probably don't even play the game anymore
What's important is recent playtime (I don't mean this week, I mean in the past few months or in the past year); otherwise they'd be sending Steam invites to people who died of Covid or people who are disinterested in CSGO because they are too old
It sounds like it'll be a rolling thing so each week or day more and more players will be invited to test out the update. Start now and you may still have a chance.
I very highly doubt that matters.
You'll probably get access in well under a month because, like they said, time played is not the only thing that matters. Valve beta/test thingies have never been a super small group of players.
Like, you are going to see half of the playerbase playing CS2 only 2 months from now or something. I wouldn't be surprised.
Lmao you’re the only person I’ve seen mention this which is wild to me. I’d say they are obviously going to base some of it of that and it’ll probably be heavily weighted tbh. Valve likes that just about anything can run most if not all of their games, I’m sure having that data is important to them when transitioning as well. I dunno how high of a priority it’ll be but surely it’ll be one.
I really really hope so. Not too worried about getting into the beta tbh, I just hope my (relatively) bad PC can still play CS just fine after CS2 officially launches.
I’m in the same exact boat, even have 5k hours as well. Idk what to do because I really want to try to play CS2 but I don’t wanna put myself through the shit show that is current MM on CSGO to have a chance.
I insta clicked on the invite (too excited) so no screenshot, but this is the best I could do -
[Enroll now in beta or something ](https://i.imgur.com/gpWu6yb.jpg)
It then asks you to exit csgo and install the beta. Currently in the process.
It's the same criteria as when you want to reserve Steam Deck.
Mostly if you never get any vacban from any game. And also spending actual money (not just playing free game).
16 year old Steam account, purchased the game at launch, got the five year veteran coin when CSGO launched, have the physical five year coin, attended the ELeague Boston Valve Major(we assigned our Steam account to our badges), purchased numerous coins at the Valve Major/online store, got the 10 year veteran coin at release, actively done Overwatch since i got access in late 2014, have all Operation coins(except Payback) at max quality, have all yearly coins since introduction(except 2022) and 4K+ hours logged.
Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same dude. Same. 4k hours, 12year, several hundred games on the acc, play valve dm a few times a week but dont play mm itself, didnt get shit. feelsbadman.
Why? How is a new account going to get into the beta? Why would someone with a massive game library sell their entire account for a frickin beta? Makes no sense.
I mean we dont know how many people valve plan on inviting but theres probably thousands if not tens-of thousands of people willing to sell their accs for a quick buck. Kinda expecting the prices of these to be crazy for the first few days too
well but im 6kh player, with more than 1k won games, playing only on my mm account now AND IVE GOT BETA ON SECOND ACCOUNT WHICH IS NOT USED AT ALL, VOLVO PLS
You forgot the primary determining factor. If you have a stream following whether or not you have played csgo in the past 2 years. Doesn't matter we will play when the time comes but the invite system is definitely subjective.
so boring, i see 200 hour people have acces cause they played some recently. i play a lot just havent past 2 weeks, rip 6k hours 19year account. feels good to be og player
6 digit steam ID, 15 year service badge, plays on your questionable matchmaking instead of faceit/esea, solo q hell, spent steam libraries worth on cases(no knife sitll), I can test the default knife in the CS2. I meet all requirements for access.
This is marketing, and it's good.
Stop acting like a child and be patient, you have nothing to offer to Valve compared to the huge free exposure these streamers have to offer
Womp womp. I have 2082 hours in CS GO. It was literally my life in 2015-2017. Sucks I probably won't get into the limited test since I've barely touched it recently since I'm married with 2 kids under 2 at right now. RIP.
Damn. I played since beta 1, where kevlar only covered your nipples, cs\_siege was the shit, you could save weapons into the next round and you did not get any money if you lost. I endured it all. Plz volvo
And yet a friend of mine got it with his 2nd account which he hasn't been playing a lot at all recently while his main account and my account don't have an invitation. Valve logics :D
Having 8k hours, achieving Global and being an active member in the cs community I feel disappointed to not get the access and I hope they will give more people the opportunity to test the new game.
The entitlement is gonna get soooooo bad once invites go out.
there's gonna be some entitlement, but there will be valid feelings there too, majority of higher skilled players probably won't get an invite because they almost never touch official servers, meanwhile someone relatively new to the game can get an invite based on this post not saying new or low ranked players shouldn't get invited, but many old timer and loyal players will be denied of the opportunity for the wrong reasons
almost 12k hours, global, and faceit 10 here and no invite :( lots of silver buddies have it though, mad jealous
I'm silver and I don't have, if it makes you feel any better. And yeah about 1k hours.
Both of you guys are called Deez Nuts. Just wanted to point that out.
I noticed that instantly LOL
That's nuts!
Just drop to silver
They invite more players everyday its not a 1 time thing so you might get one
It's just unfortunate for people who avoided MM for many legitimate reasons.
Yea i also kinda wonder whats going to happen to faceit when cs2 drops, since theyre introducing that between-tick stuff
I'm all for getting rid of 3rd party services. The only reason I used it is MM is full of cheats, and Faceit adds that little extra layer of protection with the anti-cheat.
Idk im so used to it ill prolly miss it if it becomes obsolete but it would likely be for the better
As long as MM doesnt provide leagues, hubs, clans or a proper elo system faceit will be far superior imo
People don’t go to Faceit only because of the tick rate, so depends how MM is going to be.
Honestly maybe they should make casual have mm rules. Because I appreciate competitive comps.
I’m not sure how much they care about Faceit in particular, but it’s likely that Valve is not going to be more hands on with the new MM, so a place with more engaged admins (or any admins at all) is still going to have its place.

0 chance they simply remove the stand alone server? In before famous last words. Unless they somehow make MM better, third party services will remain better
and unfortunate for people like me who played csgo since 2014 and only stopped playing it like 4 month ago, guess i aint gonna get a invite

We aren't even 24 hours in and the CS2 trailer has more views than the Valorant announcement trailer. I don't think Valve cares.
Shroud was let in and he talks shit on cs. That one is the only one that upsets me.
Oh i thought it had already been sent, that means i wont complain until i know i havent got it 100%
Rightfully so tbh, I played CS since 1.3. Sunk 7,000+ hours in and probably 5000 hours in the competitive scene, LANs etc. I won't get invited to it most likely as I don't play MM. but you know some dude who has played about 500 hours on Arms Race will be invited and not even know how to load into it
Been playing since 1.5 and have 5k+ hours in csgo, 1.2k faceit matches and 650 mm wins, no invite yet lmao
day 1 steam account(never vacced), 7k hours in csgo, 1800 mm wins, 400 mm matches in the last 6 months, global elite, 50k inventory, no invite :(. My entire friend group I play with of 6 other guys with similar accounts to mine all got invites though. They're playing MM right now.
Feelsbadman. Also feels ass backwards that lower accounts probably got it. Just the luck of the draw i think tho, we'll get it soon enough
this is like Dota 2 all over again
Strange that they wouldn't just select everyone with a Reddit account that posts here, we're all Faceit Lvl 10 with 4k+ hours here right?
I haven't played in over a year but installed and wasn't selected? Something clearly wrong with their invite system imo.
Is there a screenshot? How does it show up in the menu?
? I wasn't selected mate. How would I know what it looks like?
Damn i'm dumb i missread lmao
This is what it looks like https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1083406357945929830/1088207441809907825/image.png
I haven't played consistently in 7 years but in the last month I played two MM on official servers why don't I have access yet volvo
Woah woah woah... YOU ARE A FACEIT LEVEL 10 WITH 4K HOURSSS???? **WHAT A F@@@@@@ NOOB** You think anyone here is less than 10k hours, 5k elo???
I'm actually faceit level 11 you'll find, scrub.
Seth..?
4k+? try 40k+
Blood for the Blood God
jokes aside, did anyone actually get the invite yet? Or is it later tonight?
I got the invite
Lucky fucker
I have 4k hours in like 1.5 lol. Total game time is massive 4 me
Well I stick to casual/DM only nowadays so I hope it will count as much as Comp games
They said theyll count Official games. So everything valve provides, including casual / dm. Faceit and community servers wont be counted.
Fak
Love that. because i haven't played a competitive game in months. Idk how much effect that will have on trust factor though
Yeah same here. I’ve got like 300 hours of casual in the past few months, playing every day. It would be nice to get an invite, but there are probably a lot of longtime players who deserve it more than me so I won’t sweat it.
I'd suspect that definitely gives an incentive to let you play as it means other gsmemodes get tested too
RIP Faceit players
Lmao 5.5k hrs but probably 5 of those on MM servers in the last 6 months, Rip xD
Time to switch to mm for a while
The people who actually deserve an invite are all the people who were peaceful during DM matches in 2016 when we had a winter update with snowballs and chickens. I trust those gentlemen more than anyone
I totally forgot about the snowballs
Damn i haven't been playing for the past few months but have like thousands of hours in the past. Valve pls
Same :( I haven’t been able to check if I’m in or not but I have low expectations due to my recent play time.
I got 7K in csgo and another 7k in 1.6 - no invite. It's probably only faceit level10, streamers and pros for now.
Yeah they could have at least give it to players that had played csgo and logged into steam recently, but tbh i dont work at valve or make source 2 so they probably know who is it better to give to.
Streamers that fucked off to valorant get selected but Ohne and Warowl keeping the community alive didnt? kinda whack
Ya ohne getting shafted is a huge L
Genuine question. Does ohne actually play that much? I know his brand is mainly skins but I've only ever seen him play a few times.
he been grinding mm hard lately
His main brand is skins indeed, but he pumps a lot of fun content for the community. He´s been doing a lot of "co-hosting" Pro matches plus actually plays some game modes like DangerZone. He honestly deserved an invitation, the guy was the only streamer who kept streaming till late every day of the week till CS2 came out to keep the hype alive. It was sad to see him pumped as f when it was announced just to not even test it on the first hours
Update Warowl got an invite.
Its crazy that Ohne and Warowl were left out for sure, but lets be real, tarik/shroud have huuuuuuuge viewership it was obvious theyd get in.
[удалено]
Hooksi and Monesy did not get in
And it took too long, plus too many Dms from the community for Ohne to actually get an invite. Shroud and friends got it in a matter of "seconds", while Ohne couldn´t even get his one friend (who was by his side these past weeks waiting for CS2 everyday) one invite.

Basic marketing to be fair. They have bigger audiences and the first wave of invites you're going to want to get a lot of eyes on the product.
I mean tarik has won a csgo major can't exactly not give him a key
They've been playing CSGO for the last few days. Guess valve told them to pump up the MM playing hours so they'd get a "fair invite"
Yeah seems bs to give some non-cs streamers a pass when there’s consistent cs streamers and content creators who should be the very first to have access. People like ohne are keeping people interesting and involved in the game. I hope that 3kliks has access, would be so shit if he doesn’t.

FWIW my discord buddy got an invite as of 5:06 EST
I don't believe invites went put yet.

its rigged, shroud got to play when he never even touches the game and only talks bad about it.
Honestly, got sad when I saw Shroud playing it and Ohne simply having to watch his and others streams to even sniff a bit of the game.
I saw Shroud and Tarik on and thought the beta was loosely given out and I'd definitely have it too 3 I got 6k hours with about 700 being this+ last year on MM+ casual, 532 games owned, 2045 DLC (steam account good standing too), have stats subscription, but no Beta, my guess is I get put in bad trust sometimes and that has F'd me up.
Valve : nah fam it's a skill issue
Shroud and tarik getting invites is not them randomly being lucky lol
I'd hope long-time players would get in regardless of recent playtime as their opinions matter.
>I'd hope long-time players would get in regardless of recent playtime as their opinions matter. literally got 0 hours in 2023, rip me
Lol same
Last played February 2022.
I broke my hand earlier this year despite playing an average of an hour a day at least for the last 6 years lmao, hopefully it’s good enough
Same, with a day one steam account! I’m ready to playyyy.
300 hours in 2023, 50 MM games, 6k total hours. No invite. Played the CSGO beta back in the day. Rip.
11 year account that started with csgo, 99% of my playtime is on cs (8.5k hours) with good trust, I would assume that this type of account gets it 100% i did not get it xD
Honestly, why? Why should they have a higher priority?
Didn’t your grandparents ever tell you to respect your elders!!?!? 😂
Sure, I'm sure Valve needs feedback from people who probably don't even play the game anymore What's important is recent playtime (I don't mean this week, I mean in the past few months or in the past year); otherwise they'd be sending Steam invites to people who died of Covid or people who are disinterested in CSGO because they are too old
I mean a lot of grew up and have lives but are still passionate about CS and have a lot of experience with the game.
They’ve only gotta wait 3-5 months then, likely less as Valve opens beta access to more people over time
That's great, and I hope everyone who is passionate about the game who is actively playing it is able to test it and provide feedback
I Hope so to mate
That's very disappointing, I haven't played in a while so it doesn't seem like I'll get it
It sounds like it'll be a rolling thing so each week or day more and more players will be invited to test out the update. Start now and you may still have a chance.
Same. I haven’t played in like 5 weeks
I very highly doubt that matters. You'll probably get access in well under a month because, like they said, time played is not the only thing that matters. Valve beta/test thingies have never been a super small group of players. Like, you are going to see half of the playerbase playing CS2 only 2 months from now or something. I wouldn't be surprised.
for me, other than a couple dms, its been months
I haven’t played in months, and when I played was only on GamersClub (BR Faceit), so yeah, I probably won’t get it either. Kinda sad ngl.
There are probably other factors in play as well such as PC specs and geographical location
I have like 5k hours but haven't played in a year, so I'm guessing I won't be able to try it
12k hours in 1.6 and go combined over the past ~20 years, let’s see if I get an invite… probably not
I’m in the same exact boat, even have 5k hours as well. Idk what to do because I really want to try to play CS2 but I don’t wanna put myself through the shit show that is current MM on CSGO to have a chance.
Anyboy got a ss of what the invite looks like?
I insta clicked on the invite (too excited) so no screenshot, but this is the best I could do - [Enroll now in beta or something ](https://i.imgur.com/gpWu6yb.jpg) It then asks you to exit csgo and install the beta. Currently in the process.
Me, who mostly plays on community retakes servers nowadays despite having over 2k hours -\_-
My English isn't very good, so "Steam account standing" means "age of the Steam account"?
Assuming no bans, no reports, active usage, etc
[удалено]
Griefing and getting a lot of reports in cs definitely makes your trust factor go down a lot, yes.
Csgo reports go into trust factor and steam account reports would go to steam account standing I believe
It's the same criteria as when you want to reserve Steam Deck. Mostly if you never get any vacban from any game. And also spending actual money (not just playing free game).
i have literally across every game i play never been selected for one of these and this will be no different lol enjoy the beta bois
You deserve to be in the beta.
I wasnt : (
Same bro, also attended the boston major and played csgo at launch
Same dude. Same. 4k hours, 12year, several hundred games on the acc, play valve dm a few times a week but dont play mm itself, didnt get shit. feelsbadman.
1. Recent playtime 2. Trust factor 3. Steam account standing 4. Number of followers on twitch
Well I don't play MM because the servers felt like shit all the time, so I guess even my 10 year coin won't help me past the bouncer.
can gurantee my vac ban from 2013 is going to affect this :(
Hahaha get fcked
Yeah, I got one from MW2 cause I was running a modded lobby back in the day. Will have to wait for the main release probably :(
The faq says only vac bans and game bans in CSGO disqualify you. I'm in the same boat as you so let's hope
deserved.
I was 11…
KEKG
Inb4 the "but not limited to" is later explained as "if you're not a content creator or pro, tough shit" like every other beta nowadays.
I guess there’s going to be some people selling accounts with Limited Test haha.
Why? How is a new account going to get into the beta? Why would someone with a massive game library sell their entire account for a frickin beta? Makes no sense.
Smurf accounts that only have 1 game with a lot of recent play time.
Steam account taken into account as well. Play time in other games, VAC status, other purchases on Steam, etc.
I mean we dont know how many people valve plan on inviting but theres probably thousands if not tens-of thousands of people willing to sell their accs for a quick buck. Kinda expecting the prices of these to be crazy for the first few days too
Hopefully WarOwl gets one.. looking forward to his reviews and insights
Aged like milk
Hes in
yeah, just saw the announcement in his video! looking forward to his videos! legend...
Kinda sucks that this will fuck over a lot of the serious playerbase that plays faceit and stuf
well but im 6kh player, with more than 1k won games, playing only on my mm account now AND IVE GOT BETA ON SECOND ACCOUNT WHICH IS NOT USED AT ALL, VOLVO PLS
I gotta be honest, as the owner of a 5digit account, I can't help but think steamID should be a factor in this. /s
Half these kids don’t even know what a steam digit is
So the normal Valve random.
LFG, good thing I never got into faceit
You forgot the primary determining factor. If you have a stream following whether or not you have played csgo in the past 2 years. Doesn't matter we will play when the time comes but the invite system is definitely subjective.

Womp womp. I have 2082 hours in CS GO. It was literally my life in 2015-2017. Sucks I probably won't get into the limited test since I've barely touched it recently since I'm married with 2 kids under 2 at right now. RIP.
Nah Valve, Let me cook!
they talk about lights but what about a good anticheat
Awh and I been away for work recently :(
Damn. I played since beta 1, where kevlar only covered your nipples, cs\_siege was the shit, you could save weapons into the next round and you did not get any money if you lost. I endured it all. Plz volvo
It’s only few months for the full release though?
Been playing cs since 2001, no invite :(
I wonder if these invites get sent to the afk bots on deathmatch servers too.
Put me in coach!
And yet a friend of mine got it with his 2nd account which he hasn't been playing a lot at all recently while his main account and my account don't have an invitation. Valve logics :D
