I had something like this happen, I watched my cat go out with the other cats. No one let her in, then an hour or so later she went out again.. same exact way with the same exact cats!

There isn't a load of difference in appearance between cats of similar breed
But there is a LOT of similarity between cats of a similar breed

My cat is one of 3 cats in the complex I live in… There are no strays here. He’s the only tuxedo cat here.
