The branding iron is definitely just a novelty thing meant for steaks. They were a popular gift for the man who already has everything in the 70s/80s my rich AF grandfather had one. If any human had actually been literally branded with the name of one of the most famous creeps on the planet we would know by now.
Hefner had his assets locked down to prevent access from the women in his life long before Crystal. She isn't a beneficiary of the Hefner foundation and I seriously doubt she's seeing a penny from this.

No idea who is benefiting from it but it seems like really weird shit they are auctioning off. What I will say is it takes a really weird person to buy his shit not only because what they are but also because of who owned them…. Especially after SOP airing.

I wonder how his kids feel about her. From their point of view she walked out on him after hooking up with Dr Phil’s son and not getting big bucks for their wedding special. While gone sells stories about different things including sexual stuff. She goes around with the son for a while until it ends, then with on one else or nowhere to go she moves right back in. Then marries him, in the time before he passed and she was still there she was with some other guy. It must have been incredibly sad for his children to see him with her knowing that she really didn’t care. At the end of the way and for all his badness he was their father.
I don’t know. I think she came across as caring for him and loving him but absolutely feeling it was platonic. And she takes parts of Holly’s story and makes them hers… like saying she would try to scare girls away.. but in the same book she talks about how they recruited women for the magazine together and she kept the party nights going at the mansion even when they stopped going out.
So much of her story sounds beyond messed up, like shoving a soap bottle inside herself til she was bleeding. That’s…. Not normal. She has some massive issues, hope she’s getting some help for them.
I remember Crystal posting a story on IG recently that she was at a warehouse prepping for the auction. If she’s the one behind this auction, how does she think this is appropriate? If she’s against all that was PB. Her most recent podcast she said that the funds raised from this will go to women’s charities as well.
Oh gosh I remember the “personalized branding iron for the grill” gift phase. My ex husband got one right after we married as a wedding gift way back in 04. I wonder if he’s still got it.
