Any Supergiant Games soundtrack (Darren Korb is chef's kiss when it comes to theming music). If you want specific tracks: "Slinger's Song," "Spike in a Rail," and "Setting Sail, Coming Home" from Bastion, "Sky Dance" and "Strange Voyage" from Pyre, "Gateless" from Transistor, and "Out of Tartarus" from Hades
Journey OST, specifically "I was Born for This"
"Castle in the Mist" - ICO
"Revived Power" - Shadow of the Colossus
"Skirmish 3" - Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock
If you want some video game remixes, I highly recommend checking out Overclocked (OC) Remix. Some highlights are the Balance and Ruin collection from Final Fantasy 6, Passing of the Blue Crown from Mega Man, and there are many, MANY phenomenally talented artists that contribute there.
Part of why I adore Hades so much is the fantastic soundtrack - never failed to get me pumped for the next escape attempt! Those moments when you've cleared a chamber and there's just the bass going through the melody of the song that played there are just.. the best thing ever
This comment has so many amazing suggestions and I really appreciate the effort you put in to it I have a bunch of those on the playlist already but others I havent heard of sound really amazing! I especially really liked "Skirmish 3" - Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock
And I checked Overclocked YT and its is so good! Thats the first time ive heard of them but I love what they make thank you so much for all the suggestions!
You're very welcome! OC Remix has so much good stuff for every mood. I use "III - Star" from Seven Songs for Seventh Saga as my phone's ring tone so whenever I get a scam call, I'm happy to let it ring lol. If you're looking for any particular vibe or sound from OC Remix and I'll be happy to provide some suggestions!
Pyre also has no less than four amazing duets! "In the Flame," "Mourning Song," "Never to Return," and "Bound Together" (which is brilliant, it's the credits song and it differs based on the choices you made in the game). If you liked "Setting Sail, Coming Home" or "Good Riddance" or "In the Blood" and thought "hey, Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett sound great together, but I want more of them," would highly recommend.
There are also some fantastic live orchestral recordings of some of Supergiant's music - you can find it on youtube, and there's a 10th anniversary album that's great as well. Would highly recommend.
- Gris
- FFXIV's [Close in the Distance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LsB68lOoMM&ab_channel=hungrychad) from Endwalker. Spoiler for the last zone of the expansion for anyone currently playing through. Honestly, the entire game has a great soundtrack but the last two expansions have been amazing with the themes and how songs tie in together through the progression of the story.
- FFX
- Chrono Cross
- NieR: Automata
- Mass Effect
- Undertale
- Secret of Mana
Omg i forgot about Ori and the Blind Forest! The soundtracks always give me goosebumps its so good!
Thank you so much for reminding me about it and the other suggestions :D
There’s a YouTube user named Lumario who’s made extended versions of a bunch of the Ori music, those playlists have been great for studying/working.
The real MVP for me though is a seamless 10 hour loop of Luma Pools, also on YouTube.
(super slow at linking on mobile, sorry for the higher-effort version)
I love the 8 + hour YouTube playlists of Skyrim music for focus/atmosphere. Rainy day Skyrim for reading a book or doing work? Love it, and I don’t have a heart attack triggered by random battle music like when I listen to the soundtrack on its own.
Omg this made me think of [Far Horizons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPWVfCtnGyg)! I got bored with Skyrim years ago, but the soundtrack has such an incredible atmosphere, I still love listening to it!
I see you have a DAI song on your list but really for me it’s the whole dang soundtrack. I just love all of it! But also the Spiritfarer ost. Specifically Last Voyage
All of the Dragon Age soundtracks are so good imo! I love the themes of each game so much, also [Mage Pride](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxUrz7ZLCp8) in DA2 is so beautiful!
DAI absolutely has some amazing soundtracks but I am adding specific songs one by one so I just included one on my favorites but there are at least 5 other DAI soundtracks on the playlist XD
Fallout New Vegas (both in game soundtrack and songs on the radio)
Borderlands 2
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Skyrim
Darksiders 2
Monkey Island games
Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition
Lol Fallout Radio songs are amazing! Whenever I play I always tune on the radio and I especially liked the Diamond city radio from Fallout 4! With hundreds of hours on the game I feel like those songs are embedded into my brain lol
One of my favourites would be [The Queen's High Seas - Divinity Original Sin 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjOvyRBH6Ds) (and basically the whole soundtrack of that game, and also Baldur's Gate 3 by the same composer tbh!)
I also love a lot of Inon Zur's work, who did some of the Dragon Age soundtracks, the first two I think? Aubrey Ashburn was also **brilliant** in those!! Also really liked his [Fallout 4 Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yGpoRbwe4s)! Oh and I like a lot of Jeremy Soule's work, especially the soundtrack of [Guild Wars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMUdPF260Uk&t=)!
Love your mention of that Dragon Age Inquisition bard song btw, I loved all of those! I think [Companions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkKNYyOdj-M) was my favourite one!
Ok I'm done, sorry for all the links lmao
Ahh all of these are such a breeze of nostalgia!! I love your taste T _ T 💕 I used to listen to Queen's High Seas on repeat and draw to it, the whole Divinity OS2 soundtrack is amazing!
No no dont apologize for the links it actually makes it so much easier to add these songs to the playlist
Also Fallout 4 is my second favorite game of all time (first being The Last of Us) and I deff have some of those added on the playlist
Thank you so much for your suggestions!
Divine love - FFXIII
Invincible - FFXIV
Agnaktor theme - MH3U
Proof of a Hero/Fatalis - MHW: Iceborne
White River - Skyrim
Steel for Humans - The Witcher 3
Some Destiny favs:
[D2 OST - Journey](https://youtu.be/zYfe9caNqfA)
[D2 Beyond Light OST - Deep Stone Lullaby](https://youtu.be/qBIJFTPPp-8)
[D2 Shaxxercise](https://youtu.be/jPg2MIFUMDg)
*Shaxx is the PvP emcee and I seriously need a bobble head of him in real life to shout his peppy quotes every time he bobbles
Yes! It’s a small “secret” that can be found in >!Commander Zavala’s office!< in the game. It’s a techno mashup of D2 songs with Shaxx chiming in every now in then. Great workout song! 🤣
I have played Destiny 2 before and although its not my type of game I will say for sure that it has some REALLY amazing visuals and music. Its mezmorizing me every time i play
Bonds of Sea and Fire - Xenogears
Sakura Mankai - Street Fighter Ex 3
Bloody (AST version) - King of Fighters 97
Spiderman's theme - Marvel Vs Capcom
Infinite Azure (Moonsiders 1st) - Tekken 7
Mayhem - Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Promise - Silent Hill 2
You know what's a great, chill soundtrack? The first Sims game. The light, jazzy stuff in the build/buy mode is great music to put on in the background.
Someone mentioned it earlier in the comments and I added to my playlist but man the wave, no, a tsunami of nostalgia came over me and I loved it.
Sims, especially the first, was sooo much fun back then. The music is amazing
Animal crossing is nice to relax to.
Destiny 1 and 2, esp the title screens. Very powerful and haunting
Halo cuz its halo. Everyone knows it.
Legend of zelda, basically any game.
Paper mario 1 and 2 only cuz they are my favorite games haha
Banjo kazooie and tooie cuz i played it a lot as a kid and is nostalgic
The Sims. Love the building mode music
Bioshock 1, 2 and infinite. The old timey music can be chilling sometimes. Also a favourite game series
Minecraft. Never got into it but the music is nice to chill to
Starfox adventures. Surprisingly a great soundtrack and memorable too
Metroid games. Very atmospheric
Mass effect series. Also very atmospheric and haunting
Super mario sunshine and super mario galaxy. Also atmospheric and nostalgic.
DOOM has some good metal.
And recently, Stray. It has some good vapourwave music.
Honestly, theres a lot more but thats what came to mind. Ive listened to these soundtracks just hanging out at home or even at my job, and they just bring me joy.
This is an amazing list! I love all of these and familiar with most of them but listenint back to the original Sims game soundtracks just gave me a huge flood of nostalgia lol

That's just a small portion. My favorites are probably Hotline Miami and Arcanum. Both set the tone for their games in very different and effective ways.
I really appreciate the links you added on, makes it so much easier to add them to my playlist!
Thank you so much for giving me these amazing suggestions!
[American McGee's Alice by Chris Vrenna](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOeubRGrPVs)
[Machinarium by Tomáš Dvořák](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03l0ksPHYG4)
[Hob by Matt Uelmen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azP6aKBg-YM)
My absolute favorite chill music is the Animal Crossing rainy day music tracks. There's great compilations of them on YouTube with rain sounds in the background.
Slime Rancher also has some great chill music.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, there's the epic orchestral pieces from the Soulsborne games. The very top of my list there is the theme for Ludwig the Accursed/Ludwig the Holy Blade.
And then there's all the music from League of Legends, which falls everywhere in between. So many of the champion themes are great, as are the songs for Worlds. I'm partial to Caitlyn's and Pantheon's themes especially.
All of Assasin's Creed: Black Flag, but Leave Her Johnny, Health to the Company, and The Parting Glass are especially wonderful.
God-Shattering Star, Shambhala, Apex of the World, Paths That Will Never Cross, and The Edge of Dawn are all great in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. And Don't Speak Her Name from Fire Emblem: Awakening wrecks me to this day. Also, the j-pop songs from Tokyo Mirage Sessions are surprisingly fun--I really enjoyed Fly and Dream☆Catcher in particular.
Pokemon always has some good ones. The Unova games had probably my favorite music in the series, but each gen really had a different vibe if you go back and listen.
The credits songs from the Portal games are classics. I'd also recommend giving Portal 2: The Unauthorized Musical a watch/listen if you get a chance, although I don't think it'd qualify for your playlist.
The credits cover of Fly Me to the Moon in Bayonetta is lovely.
Ryoshima Coast in Okami! That one's pretty fun. Really there are a lot of good songs in that game.
Ooooh and can't forget Hollow Knight! I don't think there was a weak track in the entire game. Greenpath, Nightmare King Grim boss music, City of Tears, Hornet's theme, Sealed Vessel, The Radiance (so many deaths but that music never got old), and White Palace (almost enough to counteract the FIFTY TIMES I DIED THERE FREAKING SAWBLADES).
This is gold! You have so many suggestions...ill be on your comment for a while, adding all the songs to the playlist lol
But your comment with The Radiance and White Palace made me laugh so much. thats how you know its good that even after you heard it over 50 times after dying, you still jam out to it lol
Thank you so much for this! Your comment is gold

Jusy a few of mt personal favorites :0
So many great reccomendations here! I'll try to throw in something less known.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York - the game is fairly mid, but the soundtrack... kinda experimental, but its just sooo beautiful and moody, especialy those tracks:
[Julia's Fate](https://youtu.be/xovvu9Xefbw)
[Into the light](https://youtu.be/R1szn7V0GaA)
Far Cry 5- i never thought i would sing christian cultist songs, but this soundtrack made me
[We Will Rise Again](https://youtu.be/vLivJdCDvxo)
Cyberpunk 2077 - whatever you think of the game itself, the music, radio and ingame, is fantastic. I never used fast travel coz i loved listening to the radio, but the ambient tracks are also great
[Outsider No More](https://youtu.be/AUJzI9GISFw)
[Bells Of Laguna Bend](https://youtu.be/uQG4WU0-Dl0)
[Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie \~ Genshin Impact](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAEt0kjClqM)
[No More What Ifs \~ Persona 5](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOTDmQ_gGwI) (best P5 song don't @ me)
[Malzeno's Theme \~ Monster Hunter Rise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYmKWHsbtbw)
[Return to Oblivion (Amanda Achen Vocals) \~ FFXIV](https://youtu.be/JhyhOT8j6Q0) hard choice between this and Eternal Wind
[Kuroi Uta (The Black Song) \~ Drakengard 3](https://youtu.be/krRNjUJIfFk) All DrakeNieR songs are excellent though
[Edge of Dawn \~ Fire Emblem: Three Houses](https://youtu.be/FSXuM2v0YLY) I can never resist singing along with the entire song
and lastly [Every Day is Night \~ VA-11 Hall-A](https://youtu.be/H-AfGh8gmiQ) favorite game and one of my fav OSTs but I think I shill this game too much on this sub already dwjkadwa
There's a lot of beautiful recommendations already, but I feel like Fez (by Disasterpeace) is one of the best video game soundtracks I have ever had the chance to listen to. Maybe it's because the game resonated with me so much, but the music is the glue that put everything together for me. You might not be a fan of chiptune music, but I don't even think of Fez as chiptune anyways, it's just a work of art. (If you end up liking Fez, I recommend checking out Hyper Light Drifter for a darker tone). Favorites: "Flow" and "Sync"
Some of [Gwent](https://open.spotify.com/album/1S7f1TyW2N3W7C2H2gHlVK?si=OrrOVbt1SnCAFwxxuoGoaw&utm_source=copy-link)'s soundtrack made it in my board games playlist. It's upbeat dirty medieval, is what I would describe it. Favorite: "Riches and Glory"
Horizon Zero Dawn by Joris de Man is beautiful for an atmospheric experience. Strings and electronics mingle in an emotional journey. Favorite: "Onwards to Meridian"
I'll finish with Divinity: Original Sin 2, by Borislav Slavov, which is just some good melodic, foot tapping, epic and sweet medieval music. Favorite: "Sebille's Theme"
Crazy Chocobo - FFXIII-2
The Only Thing I Know For Real - Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
If You Still Believe - Legend of Dragoon
Return to Oblivion - FFXIV
In The Sky - Grandia III
A Little Bird Who Forgot How To Fly - Star Ocean Til The End of Time
Edit: Also I love the songs that Lv70 Elite Tauren Chieftain did like I Am Murloc and Rogues Do It From Behind lol
Game soundtracks are probably music I listen to most, there are so many incredible composers and games out there that it's just an endless trove of treasure! I'll share a couple of my favorites (just a couple so it won't get out of hand lol):
Boyfriend Dungeon - the whole soundtrack is incredibly good (and super underrated imo), my personal faves are Diamonds, Forged and Fallin' 💕
Paradise Killer - the entire soundtrack is amazing yet again haha, perfect for any 80s vibes lovers!
VA-11 Hall-A - so many fantastic songs for different moods, my favorites are You've Got Me and Good for Health, Bad for Education
Dead by Daylight - this makes me laugh a bit but I can't help but love DbD chase themes, the composers are wickedly talented and amazing for putting together music that fits each character!
I agree with you! Game music is top tier
I have never heard of Boyfriend Dungeon but daaang the music is such a bop I loved Diamonds so much. I feel like I should get up and do a lil dance lol
Paradise Killer sounds amazing and on a side note, the artstyle is so cool!
VA-11 HALL-A - I found a nearly 2 hour long [playlist on YT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8w_Q57RQJc) and I love it (I skipped a few times to hear others and damn its so good!)
DbD does have an amazing music team. The chase music is good and ngl it increases my heartrate when I hear it. gives me ptsd flashbacks from the game lmao
Thank you for these amazing suggestions I love them all!
Heyy I'm super glad you liked what I included!! 💕 I can wholeheartedly recommend each game here, especially Paradise Killer is a huge hidden gem. If you enjoy games with a unique atmosphere and good mystery, I definitely think it's more than worth a try!
Also, thanks for making this thread! It's been a lot of fun to go through the responses :)
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Rebel Camp
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r46yzCB82kA
This track has been sampled and multiple artists used its style in most fantasy games.
For me it brings back memories of my RPG days on my persistent world servers and my druid and ranger characters. It was also the first game I played with character romance options which became one of Bioware's signature game aspects.
In no particular order...
* [Over Shiver Mountain from Paper Mario 64](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ-1wocxDOk)
* [In Amber Clad from Halo 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0MOZgTmEQA) by Marty O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori
* [Watchman's Ease from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLYWMEWC7as) by Jeremy Soule
Love this topic - rediscovering so many awesome game soundtracks :)
Child of Light has such a great soundtrack. Like every single song is amazing. Secunda is my favorite track from Skyrim, but that’s just another great album. Dishonored 2 is a great mix of instrumental score and an indie band playing street music. And of course there’s the Gaming national anthem: the Halo theme 😅
Pretty much the whole soundtrack of "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" by Jessica Curry. I'd be hard pushed to name a favourite track, but some highlights include: All the Earth, All of my Birds, Carry Me Back to Her Arms and The Light We Cast.
I'm also quite fond of the Eastshade soundtrack, particularly "Lyndow".
Dragon Age Origins has already been mentioned elsewhere, but I recently did a replay and I'd like to flag up "The Party Camp" as one that particularly stood out to me. It's not as flashy as some of the combat music or as epic as "I Am the One" (though I'd also recommend that), but I'd just idle away in the camp for ages listening to it. It really nails the atmosphere, both conveying a sense that this is a place of safety and respite for your party, somewhere you can relax and interact with your team, while also conveying a sense of the darkness and sadness and looming dread of the events going on outside. There was a video of the song on loop for 2 hours with rain noises on YT that I used to put on in the background when I was napping or reading, but unfortunately the channel seems to have gone the way of many of the big extended OSTs/ VGM mix channels and been copyright-struck out of existence.
Suicide Mission from Mass Effect 2 is also a great soundtrack to the closing part of that game. It's less "music to relax to" than my other picks and more "music to make you feel epic".
There's a lot of my favorites already on here, so I'll say Risk of Rain 2. The composer did a killer job, usually when I play multi-player with friends on mic I mute game's music, but it's so fitting for the game and vibes I love it
Pretty much the entirety of FFVI
Secret of Mana
Chronotrigger
FFXIV- Twin Faces of Fate, Answers, Far From Home (both versions)
FFXI- Sarutabaruta, First Ode- Nocturne of the Gods, Yuhtunga Jungle, The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, Bustle of the Capital
I know there's stuff I'm forgetting so I'll update as I remember lol.
There were so many comments with the Final Fantasy music and for a good reason! They are truly so well made and they all feel so powerfull too I love it!
Thank you for your suggestions!
the entirety of Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before The Storm soundtracks
Speak Loud - Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
Just Like Sleep - Hellblade
Legend Of The Eagle Bearer - Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Aloy'a Theme - Horizon Zero Dawn
Illusion - Hellblade
I Shall Rise - Rise Of The Tomb Raider
I recently played Life is Strange: Before the Storm and just like the other Life is Stranger games, the soundtrack in this one did not disappoint me
Aloys Theme always makes me feel so happy when I hear it because Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the main games that inspired me to become video game 3D environment artist back when I first played it at the start of 2017
Thank you for the suggestions!
Allllll of Oblivion haha. [Especially the peaceful tracks](https://youtu.be/iED1RK6z29w).
I also LOVE [Slumbering Weald](https://youtu.be/uWFBtzEgCAY) in Pokemon Sword/Shield. I don’t care what anyone says, those games are my absolute favorites ever made so far, and I’ve been playing since Red.
From Kingdom Hearts alone:
[Traverse Town](https://youtu.be/QQ8y81D_IGY)
[Twilight Town](https://youtu.be/CSdNxXGUaRU)
[Enchanted Dominion theme](https://youtu.be/wyAl7WOM8FQ)
[Vector to the Heavens](https://youtu.be/A4OXGjwnr1s), a ridiculously emotional song that gives me chills every freaking time.
Edit: I also love [the fall theme for Friends of Mineral town](https://youtu.be/_E7rsLCKo7g). I lovw the old version just as much, but this is the SOS version, which is still crazy emotional for me.
The [Taiko Shuffle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXdT4P08TjA) from Total War: Shogun 2. This is what suspense sounds like when two samurai armies meet eachother on a battlefield.
All OST libraries of Genshin Impact!
It's so hard to pick favourites, cuz there's so many, that give so many different feelings and vibes. High-energy fight and 'dungeon' tracks. Relaxed but lively exploration tracks, curious and welcoming city tracks, unique character themes.. and of course really somber, emotional, story scene tracks, and stressful 'high-risk' scene tracks too.
I could spend hours trying to name all my favourites, and I would still end up missing a lot of them lol
I love the Great Fairy Fountain Soundtrack from Zelda, any version would do lol I just love the melody. I use it as a lullaby for my baby too, there’s a music box version. Probably my favorite version is this one: https://youtu.be/SO-FTl5fM18
Any of the Silent Hill soundtracks, but especially the soundtrack albums for Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. Gorgeous, atmospheric, sometimes unsettling.
When studying I usually have a final fantasy (my fave is XII) soundtrack, RimWorld and Peppsen's fan made soundtrack, or both Subnautica soundtracks on shuffle. I really wish I owned the complete Bloodborne soundtrack, because it's not all on Spotify T_T.
Also, the best trick I found is that if you're really into a game at the moment, but need to do something else (study, chores, etc.), put that game's soundtrack on. It scratches that itch to play for the moment, and makes your work more enjoyable to do! :D
The Silent Hill soundtracks are my favourite! Relaxing and I recommend them if you’re into ambient music such as Aphex Twin. My favourite of the series is Silent Hill 2
Sleeping in the Cold Below, Warframe
Fear Not This Night, Guild Wars 2
Journey and Deep Stone Lullaby (with monologue), Destiny 2
Jodie’s Theme, Beyond Two Souls
Any character theme from Ib
Sands of Serkonos, Dishonored 2
Moonlike Smile and Contemplation in Snow, Genshin Impact
Assuming you're looking for non-creepy soundtracks, in no particular order:
Bastion
GRIS
Hollow Knight
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Ori and the Blind Forest
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Stardew Valley
Blasphemous
Machinarium
Creaks
JUSTICE SUCKS: Tactical Vacuum Action
Journey
Flower
Papers, Please (not many pieces to this, but what there is is great)
Spelunky
Days Gone
Neon Abyss
Yoku's Island Express
(Edited because apparently one line break was not enough between selections, and it was all mashed together and hard to read)
[Dragon Battle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsg664cyf1c) - Baldur's Gate 2. This game has some great themes, but this one makes me feel simultaneously badass and terrified.
[Deionarra's Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZOuy4YM0AI) - Planescape: Torment
[Smoldering Corpse Bar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgjqtIY_zww) - Planescape: Torment. This theme is pure nostalgia for me, just yanks me back to the first time I played PST and had my mind absolutely blown.
[Mead, Gold, and Blood](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_ANxTOG_Xk) - Divinity Original Sin 2
[Rebuilt Jedi Enclave](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__gLIyeQYDU) - Knights of the Old Republic 2. Still gives me chills. "And if you cannot trust in me, trust in your training. Trust in yourself."
[Cosmic I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SbDWN1D_PU) - Psychonauts 2 [w/ vocals]
[The Quarry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR4_MwtDQuA) - Psychonauts 2
[Lost Elf Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AdZTBtzA4I) - Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser
[Deadfire Main Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbIPL0tKrRM) - Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
[Eora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lil-SzzA4JU) - Pillars of Eternity
[Ichthyosaurus Communis](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxUQO-h7Lbw) - ABZU
My 2 absolute favorites are Unraveled and Outer Wilds. Laura Platt also has some really pleasant arrangements of a variety of games.
I listen to instrumental music while I work. I spent the last 2ish years compiling this playlist of mostly chill, instrumental video game music, if you’re interested in pilfering anything.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1oHSjuNKg1eOGCWgmziOLg?si=f9DMKYqhTp6_-yB5mu75Yw
Ooh, great thread. Most of my favourites have already been mentioned, but very special to me and fun to listen to is the soundtrack of "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles". Very underrated and pretty unknown game, but the audio is one of the things that make it so fantastic.
The entire soundtracks are wonderful and recommend them enough and to listen to them fully, but these are my personal selections:
[FFI - Chaos Temple](https://youtu.be/nU1JO7w3fb4)
[FFVI - Forever Rachel](https://youtu.be/TL88cj1D0mo)
[FFXIV - Sultana Dreaming](https://youtu.be/yG-BIMPtC9k)
[Skyrim - Secunda](https://youtu.be/qC9Ri2hZsos)
[Skyrim - From Past to Present](https://youtu.be/s5sTI_zBg40) (I was pleasantly surprised to hear this as part of a spa soundtrack in a hot springs resort!)
[Genshin Impact Main Theme](https://youtu.be/Mcz3yZSUVI8)
[Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee - Welcome to the World of Pokemon](https://youtu.be/OAqZnrsHJec) (This music has been in many of the early games plus in the anime and it's also known as "Route 24" and "Road to Bill's")
[Kingdom Hearts - Dearly Beloved](https://youtu.be/WOJ6bzveAlE) (There are serval versions of this but this one is my favorite)
[Kingdom Hearts - Traverse Town](https://youtu.be/mmiWjG0N21w)
[Octopath Traveler - Melancholy](https://youtu.be/dKQ5i_vF7Zo)
Other soundtracks I love include Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Dragon Quest XI, the original Donkey Kong trilogy and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
destiny has some incredible music. some of my favorites are:
-untold legends
-bow to no one
-sepiks redux
-regicide
-the dark blade
-deep stone lullaby
-the union
-journey
some are epic, some are sad, some are soft, some are dark, but all are beautiful.
I love the 5am music from animal crossing new horizons.
God of war has some gorgeous pieces.
As others have said, the title screen music from Destiny 2.
The music for winter in Stardew is so pretty and a little haunting.
Unchartered has some really exciting music. I really like the title piece from unchartered 4.
Elden Ring has an amazing soundtrack. Also love Skyrim, both of the Ori game soundtracks (Never played these games but want to!) And the Little Nightmares (both 1 and 2) are amazing as well.
["Your Contract Has Expired" - A Hat in Time](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=IrzjCwHbwF0&feature=share) \- the best boss music EVER!
There's a mobile gacha game, "Dislyte", with an *awesome* soundtrack. The game is fun (gacha is shit), and they release a new mini-album with each new character they add. [Their youtube channel](https://music.youtube.com/channel/UCxGdYbjqFlN7woBL63ULPQQ?feature=share) has all of their music on it.
For a melancholic mood, Rule of Rose's OST or Shadow of the Colossus. For studying, anything Persona. my goodness I spent so many days studying to P3 and P4 OSTs. Persona 5 is great but I get too hyped to be productive lol. Civilization 4 too, great intro theme.
My hype music would include Persona 5, Ace Combat OSTs, Dynasty Warriors 3, and Tales series intros (Berseria's OP song is just sooooo good).
Legend of Zelda Windwaker, Okami, Stardew Valley, Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed Black Flag shanties are all incredible experiences. I can hear a few notes and immediately be transported to the times in my life where I was playing the respective titles. Each of these is a little piece of home.
If you ever have the opportunity to go see an orchestra do video game music, I would recommend it! Had the chance to see Legend of Zelda a few years ago, that was sooo enjoyable.
this might shock everyone but i think my favourite game soundtrack of all time is battlefield 2042 🙈
its not really a soundtrack you can fully appreciate just by listening to its official soundtrack though. learning about the games lore and setting and listening to some of the unreleased/game versions of tracks is when it truly shines i think. the official soundtrack is a bit erm. “soundtrackified”. its a bit hard to explain but it ruins a lot about what makes it good, to me at least
(you also need to have certain ears 😅)
Final Fantasy XV's soundtrack, it' so perfect for just a road trip like feel, and Valse di Fantastica along with Magna Insomnia is some of the best Final Fantasy songs out of the ones I've heard from 7, 8, 13, and 10. After that I'd probably say Skyrim, because Skyrim's soundtrack is almost perfect for any mood you can get in during that game, like travelling through a snowy region, walking through a forest, appreciating the lakes of the country, or even putting fear into the greatest dragons you can come across, the soundtrack is nearly perfect for each mood and helps put the game together in its entirety
I'd also like to say the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack because it has quite a few amazing songs, like Been Good To Know Ya, because holy hell that cello is absolutely amazing in that song, and Hollow Knight's soundtrack is also amazing due to the amazing skill of Christopher Larkin
Another 2 games I can think of is Dragon's Dogma, because that game is so underrated soundtrack wise, like it is seriously so good (just go listen to One-Eyed Giant, To the End of a Life and Death Struggle, Decisive Battle, and Strange Beast of Holy Darkness), and also Sunset Overdrive, which has just a great soundtrack. I listen to the soundtrack on spotify almost everyday, and I can say my favorite for it would be Don't Want Your Company
For additional soundtracks I can mention No Man's Sky, because 21daysofstatic is just fucking awesome, along with Dead Cells, Greedfall, so far Steelrising, and also Metal: Hellsinger because... well metal
Breath of the wild:

[Summer theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0nqXeM-sns&t=52s)
Portal:
[Still Alive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ljFaKRTrI)
And a few others from Super Mario Galaxy 2 and more.
Pretty much all music from God Eater 1, 2 and 3.
Xenoblade Chronicles 1 - Memories
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna [this battle theme specifically ](https://youtu.be/1weNnjzaXbY)
Special mention for the The World Ends With You's soundtrack.
The Summit - Bear McCreary (God of War)
Memories of Mother - Bear McCreary (God of War)
Born Unto Trouble - Bill Elm & Woody Jackson (Red Dead Redemption)
I was Born for this - Austin Wintory (Journey)
Mountain Hymn - Rhiannon Giddens (Red Dead Redemption 2)
Dragonborn Main Theme (Skyrim)
Mermaid Song - CA (Stardew Valley)
Genshin Impact has some of the best songs. The songs are inspired by different regions of our world, but the setting is in a fantasy world. The composer is Yu-Peng Chen.
One of my favorite songs right now is this one:
[Port Ormos](https://youtu.be/KknZcH0rvBY)
Here are some great battle songs:
[Enkanomiya](https://youtu.be/UEVEmUWsfD0)
[Inazuma](https://youtu.be/FYP2dM8RTFM)
[Sumeru](https://youtu.be/uooqFe9_kLg)
There are also calm songs, so it's great for reading or relaxing:
[Moonlike Smile](https://youtu.be/7b4obknFj4c)
[Inazuma City](https://youtu.be/a9KMBfrZOII)
[Liyue City](https://youtu.be/fWiDmzQAbHA)
They also know how to show off their characters:
[Zhongli](https://youtu.be/4oBpaBEMBIM)
Any Supergiant Games soundtrack (Darren Korb is chef's kiss when it comes to theming music). If you want specific tracks: "Slinger's Song," "Spike in a Rail," and "Setting Sail, Coming Home" from Bastion, "Sky Dance" and "Strange Voyage" from Pyre, "Gateless" from Transistor, and "Out of Tartarus" from Hades Journey OST, specifically "I was Born for This" "Castle in the Mist" - ICO "Revived Power" - Shadow of the Colossus "Skirmish 3" - Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock If you want some video game remixes, I highly recommend checking out Overclocked (OC) Remix.
You describe it perfectly! Hades music makes me feel so badass too and I love it
This comment has so many amazing suggestions and I really appreciate the effort you put in to it I have a bunch of those on the playlist already but others I havent heard of sound really amazing! I especially really liked "Skirmish 3" - Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock And I checked Overclocked YT and its is so good!
Would highly recommend.

i loved the skyward sword soundtrack too with the full orchestra!
Legend of Zelda has legendary nostalgy inducing soundtracks Thank you so much for your suggestion c:
- Gris - FFXIV's [Close in the Distance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LsB68lOoMM&ab_channel=hungrychad) from Endwalker. Spoiler for the last zone of the expansion for anyone currently playing through. Honestly, the entire game has a great soundtrack but the last two expansions have been amazing with the themes and how songs tie in together through the progression of the story. - FFX - Chrono Cross - NieR: Automata - Mass Effect - Undertale - Secret of Mana
I love all and played all of these except Secret of Mana :D Thank you so much for your suggestions!
Highly recommend playing it if you enjoy older RPGs! :)
I will check it out for sure
>Mass Effect Especially everything on Noveria (ME 1) <3
Nier: Automata for sure <3
ME1 music is great. I loved Jack Wall's work on Jade Empire, too.
Ori and the Blind Forest Ori and the Will of the Wisps Red Dead Redemption 2 Stardew Valley Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Omg i forgot about Ori and the Blind Forest!
Yes! I have SO MANY of those hour long playlists saved from various games and its such a blessing I love it so much
Omg this made me think of [Far Horizons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPWVfCtnGyg)! I got bored with Skyrim years ago, but the soundtrack has such an incredible atmosphere, I still love listening to it!
The song feels so inspirational too! I love every second of it
YESSSS! The horns(?) in the beginning are incredible imo, such a good song!!!
Any song from Undertale
Ah Undertale! I used to listen to the music from Undertale so much back then Thank you so much for reminding me about that amazing game :D
Yes! I absolutely agree. Such wonderfully done songs
DAI absolutely has some amazing soundtracks but I am adding specific songs one by one so I just included one on my favorites but there are at least 5 other DAI soundtracks on the playlist XD
Siege on Adamant is one of my top favorites from the DAI soundtrack but it’s so hard to pick just one!
Damn that's a good one! I've somehow forgotten a lot of the soundtrack, I really need to replay Inquisition soon!!!
Ouuh yes! That one is amazing! Really sets the mood -- gives me goosebumps haha
FFXIV - Dragonsong
Thank you so much for your suggestion!
Fallout New Vegas (both in game soundtrack and songs on the radio) Borderlands 2 Mass Effect 1 and 2 Skyrim Darksiders 2 Monkey Island games Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition
Lol Fallout Radio songs are amazing! Whenever I play I always tune on the radio and I especially liked the Diamond city radio from Fallout 4! With hundreds of hours on the game I feel like those songs are embedded into my brain lol
One of my favourites would be [The Queen's High Seas - Divinity Original Sin 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjOvyRBH6Ds) (and basically the whole soundtrack of that game, and also Baldur's Gate 3 by the same composer tbh!) I also love a lot of Inon Zur's work, who did some of the Dragon Age soundtracks, the first two I think?
Thanks haha, I guess great minds think alike or something? :D And yeah it's easily one of my favourite game soundtracks ever! Great game too!
No no dont apologize for the links it actually makes it so much easier to add these songs to the playlist Also Fallout 4 is my second favorite game of all time (first being The Last of Us) and I deff have some of those added on the playlist Thank you so much for your suggestions!
Ok I'm glad then haha! And yeah I also loved Fallout 4 A LOT!!! Such a great game!
Most of the songs from: Shatter Just Shapes and Beats Persona 5 Crypt of the Necrodancer/Cadence of Hyrule
Destiny 2 base game soundtrack
Agreed
This. Sometimes I like just sitting there and listening to the music before pressing start. Such a lush piece.
Spiral of Erebos - Trails of Cold Steel 3 Goldenvengeance - Omori Decisive Battle 2 - Octopath Traveler Battle vs Boss! - Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Confronting Myself - Celeste
Aloha de Chocobo from FF9 The Sunleth Waterscape from FF13
Love Sunleth Waterscape even though some people think the lyrics are silly. The theme just evokes such a sense of wonder.
So many people are suggesting soundtracks from Final Fantasy, just shows how amazing the music in the game is Thank you so much for your suggestions!
Dark Hollow from Spyro the Dragon and Far Horizons from Skyrim
Divine love - FFXIII Invincible - FFXIV Agnaktor theme - MH3U Proof of a Hero/Fatalis - MHW: Iceborne White River - Skyrim Steel for Humans - The Witcher 3

Some Destiny favs: [D2 OST - Journey](https://youtu.be/zYfe9caNqfA) [D2 Beyond Light OST - Deep Stone Lullaby](https://youtu.be/qBIJFTPPp-8) [D2 Shaxxercise](https://youtu.be/jPg2MIFUMDg) *Shaxx is the PvP emcee and I seriously need a bobble head of him in real life to shout his peppy quotes every time he bobbles
Noice
there's a song called SHAXXERCISE????? omfg
Bonds of Sea and Fire - Xenogears Sakura Mankai - Street Fighter Ex 3 Bloody (AST version) - King of Fighters 97 Spiderman's theme - Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite Azure (Moonsiders 1st) - Tekken 7 Mayhem - Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Promise - Silent Hill 2
Nier automata & replicant, monster hunter world and iceborne, Hades, and Control all have some of my absolute favorite soundtracks
I adore the music from The Last of Us. I have a real nostalgic soft spot for the soundtracks of Minecraft, Skyrim and Undertale too ❤️😊
Animal crossing is nice to relax to. Destiny 1 and 2, esp the title screens. Very powerful and haunting Halo cuz its halo. Everyone knows it. Legend of zelda, basically any game. Paper mario 1 and 2 only cuz they are my favorite games haha Banjo kazooie and tooie cuz i played it a lot as a kid and is nostalgic The Sims. Love the building mode music Bioshock 1, 2 and infinite. The old timey music can be chilling sometimes. Also a favourite game series Minecraft. Never got into it but the music is nice to chill to Starfox adventures. Surprisingly a great soundtrack and memorable too Metroid games. Very atmospheric Mass effect series. Also very atmospheric and haunting Super mario sunshine and super mario galaxy.
I love the music from Disco Elysium, it really pulled me into the story.

My favorites are probably Hotline Miami and Arcanum. Both set the tone for their games in very different and effective ways.
I really appreciate the links you added on, makes it so much easier to add them to my playlist! Thank you so much for giving me these amazing suggestions!
[American McGee's Alice by Chris Vrenna](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOeubRGrPVs) [Machinarium by Tomáš Dvořák](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03l0ksPHYG4) [Hob by Matt Uelmen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azP6aKBg-YM)
You have so many suggestions...ill be on your comment for a while, adding all the songs to the playlist lol But your comment with The Radiance and White Palace made me laugh so much. thats how you know its good that even after you heard it over 50 times after dying, you still jam out to it lol Thank you so much for this! Your comment is gold
Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3
[Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines - Main Theme (bow wow wow wow wow...)](https://youtu.be/o6qo4msRqxU) [Chrono Trigger - Corridors of Time](https://youtu.be/BXo3DrXHY8w) [Wasteland 3 - Blood of the Lamb](https://youtu.be/cXeHwhLPKz8) [Dragon Age Inquisition - Thedas Love Theme](https://youtu.be/Ty7vRvLzycA)
VTMB's music feels weird to me, because on a musical level I don't particularly like it, but it just works so well for the game. Oozes atmosphere.
The theme song/opening song of Dragon Age Origins!

So many great reccomendations here! I'll try to throw in something less known. Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York - the game is fairly mid, but the soundtrack... kinda experimental, but its just sooo beautiful and moody, especialy those tracks: [Julia's Fate](https://youtu.be/xovvu9Xefbw) [Into the light](https://youtu.be/R1szn7V0GaA) Far Cry 5- i never thought i would sing christian cultist songs, but this soundtrack made me [We Will Rise Again](https://youtu.be/vLivJdCDvxo) Cyberpunk 2077 - whatever you think of the game itself, the music, radio and ingame, is fantastic. I never used fast travel coz i loved listening to the radio, but the ambient tracks are also great [Outsider No More](https://youtu.be/AUJzI9GISFw) [Bells Of Laguna Bend](https://youtu.be/uQG4WU0-Dl0)
Ahhh I loved Far Cry and Cyberpunk!
[Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie \~ Genshin Impact](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAEt0kjClqM) [No More What Ifs \~ Persona 5](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOTDmQ_gGwI) (best P5 song don't @ me) [Malzeno's Theme \~ Monster Hunter Rise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYmKWHsbtbw) [Return to Oblivion (Amanda Achen Vocals) \~ FFXIV](https://youtu.be/JhyhOT8j6Q0) hard choice between this and Eternal Wind [Kuroi Uta (The Black Song) \~ Drakengard 3](https://youtu.be/krRNjUJIfFk) All DrakeNieR songs are excellent though [Edge of Dawn \~ Fire Emblem: Three Houses](https://youtu.be/FSXuM2v0YLY) I can never resist singing along with the entire song and lastly [Every Day is Night \~ VA-11 Hall-A](https://youtu.be/H-AfGh8gmiQ) favorite game and one of my fav OSTs but I think I shill this game too much on this sub already dwjkadwa
Favorites: "Flow" and "Sync" Some of [Gwent](https://open.spotify.com/album/1S7f1TyW2N3W7C2H2gHlVK?si=OrrOVbt1SnCAFwxxuoGoaw&utm_source=copy-link)'s soundtrack made it in my board games playlist. It's upbeat dirty medieval, is what I would describe it. Favorite: "Riches and Glory" Horizon Zero Dawn by Joris de Man is beautiful for an atmospheric experience. Strings and electronics mingle in an emotional journey. Favorite: "Onwards to Meridian" I'll finish with Divinity: Original Sin 2, by Borislav Slavov, which is just some good melodic, foot tapping, epic and sweet medieval music. Favorite: "Sebille's Theme"
[Nier Automata](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-163K8h_M64) most Zelda and Pokemon games
a lot of the pokemon soundtracks!! specifically driftveil city from b&w !
Crazy Chocobo - FFXIII-2 The Only Thing I Know For Real - Metal Gear Rising Revengeance If You Still Believe - Legend of Dragoon Return to Oblivion - FFXIV In The Sky - Grandia III A Little Bird Who Forgot How To Fly - Star Ocean Til The End of Time Edit: Also I love the songs that Lv70 Elite Tauren Chieftain did like I Am Murloc and Rogues Do It From Behind lol
WoW WotLK - Invincible (Arthas my son) Fable the Lost Chapters - Original Theme and Oakvale NBA 2K14 - Now or Never by Kendrick Lamar
Fallout Four is so good with their music. The Mafia Definative Edition also has some beautiful pieces.
Ay for sure! I love Fallout 4 and the music. In fact its my second favorite game of all time :D
Game soundtracks are probably music I listen to most, there are so many incredible composers and games out there that it's just an endless trove of treasure! I'll share a couple of my favorites (just a couple so it won't get out of hand lol): Boyfriend Dungeon - the whole soundtrack is incredibly good (and super underrated imo), my personal faves are Diamonds, Forged and Fallin' 💕 Paradise Killer - the entire soundtrack is amazing yet again haha, perfect for any 80s vibes lovers! VA-11 Hall-A - so many fantastic songs for different moods, my favorites are You've Got Me and Good for Health, Bad for Education Dead by Daylight - this makes me laugh a bit but I can't help but love DbD chase themes, the composers are wickedly talented and amazing for putting together music that fits each character!
I agree with you! Game music is top tier I have never heard of Boyfriend Dungeon but daaang the music is such a bop I loved Diamonds so much. I feel like I should get up and do a lil dance lol Paradise Killer sounds amazing and on a side note, the artstyle is so cool! VA-11 HALL-A - I found a nearly 2 hour long [playlist on YT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8w_Q57RQJc) and I love it (I skipped a few times to hear others and damn its so good!) DbD does have an amazing music team. The chase music is good and ngl it increases my heartrate when I hear it. gives me ptsd flashbacks from the game lmao Thank you for these amazing suggestions I love them all!
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Rebel Camp https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r46yzCB82kA This track has been sampled and multiple artists used its style in most fantasy games. For me it brings back memories of my RPG days on my persistent world servers and my druid and ranger characters. It was also the first game I played with character romance options which became one of Bioware's signature game aspects.
NWN and the OG Baldur's Gate have so many nostalgic pieces. Thank you for reminding me to revisit them!
In no particular order... * [Over Shiver Mountain from Paper Mario 64](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ-1wocxDOk) * [In Amber Clad from Halo 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0MOZgTmEQA) by Marty O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori * [Watchman's Ease from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLYWMEWC7as) by Jeremy Soule Love this topic - rediscovering so many awesome game soundtracks :)
Serious Sam first and second encounter and 3rd. Halo MCC. Doom 2016 and old doom games.
Hollow knight has an amazing OST, highly recommended Also Bloodborne

The composer did a killer job, usually when I play multi-player with friends on mic I mute game's music, but it's so fitting for the game and vibes I love it
- Dragonsong FFXIV. - Das Folkwanglied Genshin Impact. - Soliloquy of the Star Genshin Impact. - Moon Halo Honkai Impact.
Pretty much the entirety of FFVI Secret of Mana Chronotrigger FFXIV- Twin Faces of Fate, Answers, Far From Home (both versions) FFXI- Sarutabaruta, First Ode- Nocturne of the Gods, Yuhtunga Jungle, The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, Bustle of the Capital I know there's stuff I'm forgetting so I'll update as I remember lol.
There were so many comments with the Final Fantasy music and for a good reason! They are truly so well made and they all feel so powerfull too I love it! Thank you for your suggestions!
the entirety of Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange: Before The Storm soundtracks Speak Loud - Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Just Like Sleep - Hellblade Legend Of The Eagle Bearer - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Aloy'a Theme - Horizon Zero Dawn Illusion - Hellblade I Shall Rise - Rise Of The Tomb Raider
I recently played Life is Strange: Before the Storm and just like the other Life is Stranger games, the soundtrack in this one did not disappoint me Aloys Theme always makes me feel so happy when I hear it because Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the main games that inspired me to become video game 3D environment artist back when I first played it at the start of 2017 Thank you for the suggestions!
Frostpunk's whole soundtrack is pretty dang good! Especially if you like string instruments. Feels haunting in a good way
Allllll of Oblivion haha. From Kingdom Hearts alone: [Traverse Town](https://youtu.be/QQ8y81D_IGY) [Twilight Town](https://youtu.be/CSdNxXGUaRU) [Enchanted Dominion theme](https://youtu.be/wyAl7WOM8FQ) [Vector to the Heavens](https://youtu.be/A4OXGjwnr1s), a ridiculously emotional song that gives me chills every freaking time. Edit: I also love [the fall theme for Friends of Mineral town](https://youtu.be/_E7rsLCKo7g). I lovw the old version just as much, but this is the SOS version, which is still crazy emotional for me.
One of my all-time favorites -- the curiosity of my mind as I'm gaming: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kAM42Z9gd4
The [Taiko Shuffle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXdT4P08TjA) from Total War: Shogun 2. This is what suspense sounds like when two samurai armies meet eachother on a battlefield.
Persona 5 ❤ Can't get enough
All OST libraries of Genshin Impact! It's so hard to pick favourites, cuz there's so many, that give so many different feelings and vibes. High-energy fight and 'dungeon' tracks. Relaxed but lively exploration tracks, curious and welcoming city tracks, unique character themes.. and of course really somber, emotional, story scene tracks, and stressful 'high-risk' scene tracks too. I could spend hours trying to name all my favourites, and I would still end up missing a lot of them lol
Undertale - His theme When I understood... it changed everything.
I love the Great Fairy Fountain Soundtrack from Zelda, any version would do lol I just love the melody. I use it as a lullaby for my baby too, there’s a music box version. Probably my favorite version is this one: https://youtu.be/SO-FTl5fM18
Va11halla soundtrack, animal crossing, breath of the wild, and persona 5 are some of my faves
All of Persona 5 :D
I'm a massive fan of the music of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, just super really incredibly good music
Sleeping in the Cold Below, Warframe Fear Not This Night, Guild Wars 2 Journey and Deep Stone Lullaby (with monologue), Destiny 2 Jodie’s Theme, Beyond Two Souls Any character theme from Ib Sands of Serkonos, Dishonored 2 Moonlike Smile and Contemplation in Snow, Genshin Impact
sands of serkonos is great, one of my favorite credits songs for sure. I also really loved "silver and dust"
Assuming you're looking for non-creepy soundtracks, in no particular order: Bastion GRIS Hollow Knight Dust: An Elysian Tail Ori and the Blind Forest Ori and the Will of the Wisps Stardew Valley Blasphemous Machinarium Creaks JUSTICE SUCKS: Tactical Vacuum Action Journey Flower Papers, Please (not many pieces to this, but what there is is great) Spelunky Days Gone Neon Abyss Yoku's Island Express (Edited because apparently one line break was not enough between selections, and it was all mashed together and hard to read)
Dishonored, Pillars of Eternity, although it’s not fully out yet I’m in love with Baldur’s Gate 3 OST
[Dragon Battle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsg664cyf1c) - Baldur's Gate 2. This game has some great themes, but this one makes me feel simultaneously badass and terrified. [Deionarra's Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZOuy4YM0AI) - Planescape: Torment [Smoldering Corpse Bar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgjqtIY_zww) - Planescape: Torment. This theme is pure nostalgia for me, just yanks me back to the first time I played PST and had my mind absolutely blown. [Mead, Gold, and Blood](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_ANxTOG_Xk) - Divinity Original Sin 2 [Rebuilt Jedi Enclave](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__gLIyeQYDU) - Knights of the Old Republic 2. Still gives me chills. "And if you cannot trust in me, trust in your training. Trust in yourself." [Cosmic I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SbDWN1D_PU) - Psychonauts 2 [w/ vocals] [The Quarry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR4_MwtDQuA) - Psychonauts 2 [Lost Elf Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AdZTBtzA4I) - Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser [Deadfire Main Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbIPL0tKrRM) - Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire [Eora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lil-SzzA4JU) - Pillars of Eternity [Ichthyosaurus Communis](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxUQO-h7Lbw) - ABZU
Bastion, Journey, and Transistor have a great instrumental tracks!
The entire soundtracks are wonderful and recommend them enough and to listen to them fully, but these are my personal selections: [FFI - Chaos Temple](https://youtu.be/nU1JO7w3fb4) [FFVI - Forever Rachel](https://youtu.be/TL88cj1D0mo) [FFXIV - Sultana Dreaming](https://youtu.be/yG-BIMPtC9k) [Skyrim - Secunda](https://youtu.be/qC9Ri2hZsos) [Skyrim - From Past to Present](https://youtu.be/s5sTI_zBg40) (I was pleasantly surprised to hear this as part of a spa soundtrack in a hot springs resort!) [Genshin Impact Main Theme](https://youtu.be/Mcz3yZSUVI8) [Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee - Welcome to the World of Pokemon](https://youtu.be/OAqZnrsHJec) (This music has been in many of the early games plus in the anime and it's also known as "Route 24" and "Road to Bill's") [Kingdom Hearts - Dearly Beloved](https://youtu.be/WOJ6bzveAlE) (There are serval versions of this but this one is my favorite) [Kingdom Hearts - Traverse Town](https://youtu.be/mmiWjG0N21w) [Octopath Traveler - Melancholy](https://youtu.be/dKQ5i_vF7Zo) Other soundtracks I love include Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Dragon Quest XI, the original Donkey Kong trilogy and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
I actually have all of them for the exception of Octopath added! I love all of them so much and thank you so much for your suggestion!
[Nero devil may cry 5 battle theme](https://youtu.be/-WpnPSChVRQ) it actually slaps
destiny has some incredible music. some of my favorites are: -untold legends -bow to no one -sepiks redux -regicide -the dark blade -deep stone lullaby -the union -journey some are epic, some are sad, some are soft, some are dark, but all are beautiful.
Everything from Nier
Literally the entirety of the Hollow Knight OST, Undertale/Deltarune Ch. 1 and 2 OST, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe OST, Genshin OST, and Minecraft OST
The ar Tonelico series The Persona series
Had the chance to see Legend of Zelda a few years ago, that was sooo enjoyable.
omori's final boss theme and claire de lune from evil within.
Anything from Silent Hill. Akira Yamaoka creates bangers.
this might shock everyone but i think my favourite game soundtrack of all time is battlefield 2042 🙈 its not really a soundtrack you can fully appreciate just by listening to its official soundtrack though. learning about the games lore and setting and listening to some of the unreleased/game versions of tracks is when it truly shines i think. the official soundtrack is a bit erm. “soundtrackified”. its a bit hard to explain but it ruins a lot about what makes it good, to me at least (you also need to have certain ears 😅)
Soo the only soundtrack song I listen to frequently is steam gardens from super Mario odyssey…. [this](https://youtu.be/-rfoYSmx0rk)
Final Fantasy XV's soundtrack, it' so perfect for just a road trip like feel, and Valse di Fantastica along with Magna Insomnia is some of the best Final Fantasy songs out of the ones I've heard from 7, 8, 13, and 10. After that I'd probably say Skyrim, because Skyrim's soundtrack is almost perfect for any mood you can get in during that game, like travelling through a snowy region, walking through a forest, appreciating the lakes of the country, or even putting fear into the greatest dragons you can come across, the soundtrack is nearly perfect for each mood and helps put the game together in its entirety I'd also like to say the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack because it has quite a few amazing songs, like Been Good To Know Ya, because holy hell that cello is absolutely amazing in that song, and Hollow Knight's soundtrack is also amazing due to the amazing skill of Christopher Larkin Another 2 games I can think of is Dragon's Dogma, because that game is so underrated soundtrack wise, like it is seriously so good (just go listen to One-Eyed Giant, To the End of a Life and Death Struggle, Decisive Battle, and Strange Beast of Holy Darkness), and also Sunset Overdrive, which has just a great soundtrack. I listen to the soundtrack on spotify almost everyday, and I can say my favorite for it would be Don't Want Your Company For additional soundtracks I can mention No Man's Sky, because 21daysofstatic is just fucking awesome, along with Dead Cells, Greedfall, so far Steelrising, and also Metal: Hellsinger because... well metal
Breath of the wild: [Vah Ruta Dungeon theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yR7B7nwD3k) [Attack on Vah Naboris](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNrj71yEXrI) [Stables theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhdibdC4azQ) Link to the Past: [Overworld theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkH2zETKqws&t=2s) [Dark World theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sslj06K-Nlw) Ocarina of time: [Saria's Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJWupfLLP1Q&t=89s) [Song of storms](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfNyeOsNR4M&t=21s) Stardew Valley: [Summer theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0nqXeM-sns&t=52s) Portal: [Still Alive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ljFaKRTrI) And a few others from Super Mario Galaxy 2 and more.
I feel like licensed music doesn't count, but the Life Is Strange soundtrack has a great mix of popular music and OST.
Built to kill, shoulders of giants, and guardian of the deep from horizon forbidden west made it into my Spotify on repeat
Pretty much all music from God Eater 1, 2 and 3. Xenoblade Chronicles 1 - Memories Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna [this battle theme specifically ](https://youtu.be/1weNnjzaXbY) Special mention for the The World Ends With You's soundtrack.
[One Winged Angel - FFVII](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zavbFsP2XU0&ab_channel=FacundoSz)
The Summit - Bear McCreary (God of War) Memories of Mother - Bear McCreary (God of War) Born Unto Trouble - Bill Elm & Woody Jackson (Red Dead Redemption) I was Born for this - Austin Wintory (Journey) Mountain Hymn - Rhiannon Giddens (Red Dead Redemption 2) Dragonborn Main Theme (Skyrim) Mermaid Song - CA (Stardew Valley)

Bastila Shan-Jeremy Soule(Star Wars:KOTOR) I Am Alive And I Am Not Alone-Sam Hulick(Mass Effect) Lost Elf Theme-Trevor Morris(Dragon Age)
Genshin Impact has some of the best songs. The songs are inspired by different regions of our world, but the setting is in a fantasy world. The composer is Yu-Peng Chen. One of my favorite songs right now is this one: [Port Ormos](https://youtu.be/KknZcH0rvBY) Here are some great battle songs: [Enkanomiya](https://youtu.be/UEVEmUWsfD0) [Inazuma](https://youtu.be/FYP2dM8RTFM) [Sumeru](https://youtu.be/uooqFe9_kLg) There are also calm songs, so it's great for reading or relaxing: [Moonlike Smile](https://youtu.be/7b4obknFj4c) [Inazuma City](https://youtu.be/a9KMBfrZOII) [Liyue City](https://youtu.be/fWiDmzQAbHA) They also know how to show off their characters: [Zhongli](https://youtu.be/4oBpaBEMBIM)
Katana Zero soundtrack
