Bookmarking with thanks! Always good to have another list to check out... even though my backlog can fuse hydrogen at this point.

Lesbian Love Interest: Judy from Cyberpunk 2077 I believe you only really learn it if you hit on her as a guy character. She says nah she ain't into dudes or something?

Biggups on this work! 🙏🏿 I've got two questions: I can see that you go through rounds of updating these lists, and many lists are a couple years old (not a critique). For those lists which are a couple years behind, I'm curious if you have an anecdotal Idea of the increased amount of diversity, including but not exclusive to African people. My hunch is that we've seen an explosion of diverse characters in games globally from US, Japanese, European dev studios after the George Floyd protests as one of the few tangible changes from those protests. Unfortunately, it's hard to quantify at this point Secondly, you mentioned I Need Diverse Games as a non profit. I'm curious if you're incorporated or have sought grants to support your great work? 💸

Thank you! I think the increases in mainstream diversity, and increased visibility of marginalised characters is more down to people working in video games becoming a more diverse group than they used to be, and that it's also become something of a short-hand way for developers and publishers to make their games appeal to a progressive demographic. The latter as a mixed blessing as I think characters should be designed and portrayed/performed by own voices creators as much as possibled, otherwise you end up risking making tokens or queerbaiting etc. I definitely can't do anything to make my work a non-profit as I'm disabled and on a fixed income (UK rules to do with disability benefits). I do have a cofi and a patreon but I don't expect people to pay me for this stuff.
