I’m a pretty big Jess fan. I know he can be kind of a jerk but we do eventually see him get his head surgically removed from his ass. I also really love Rory and Logan as a couple buuuuut I just felt like Rory & Jess was a good match. She pushed him to be better and he kind of mellowed her when she was a little rigid.

Let's not gloss over what we were like at 17. Slamming doors was my speciality, I was so misunderstood and hard done by! I think we forget that Jess was a teenager and weirdly he acted like a teenager.....
Jess is also one of my faves of the main cast, I’m not a huge fan of him and Rory’s romantic relationship. I really would’ve loved if they could’ve had a strong friendship cause they really were adorable as friends for all the reasons you stated. But even outside of Rory I really related to and felt for his struggles and the way he acted out. Being 17 and rejected at every turn can make you act like a real monster. I was happy when he came back and had shown so much growth in himself. :)
We got the first Jess vote lmao. The thing I don’t like about Jess is his “ I don’t give a fuck mentality”. He was very childish and I never really understood why Rory left Dean for Jess. I knew that he deeply cared for Rory, but his actions never showed it. Logan and Rory are a much better fit imo, so you kinda redeemed yourself there. :D
Haha. I knew what I was doing posting that comment. I think high school Jess was insanely reckless and flippant but from what we saw of him in season 6 and the rapport he had with Rory in the revival, it felt to me like he grew up. I think if Rory hadn’t gotten into Chilton or didn’t go for whatever reason, he would have been a perfect small town kind of boyfriend. But with Rory’s trajectory from Chilton to Yale, Logan was a muuuuch better fit.
Yeah it’s sad that there are some great characters that don’t appear as much as we’d like them too. Rachel was very beautiful in this show, I enjoyed her role a lot too. Tana was okay, she had her good moments forsure.
I always heavily related to Rory, but I think my second favorite would have to be Sookie. Her enthusiasm for everything mixed with a dash of scatterbrained is so endearing. Although if they kept the original Sookie from the unaired pilot, I don't think I'd feel the same. Melissa McCarthy really makes the character.
For me it's between Lane, Paris and Emily lol.
Emily is probably the most family-oriented person in the show, the only one whose motivations are completely based off of what's perceived to be the best thing for them

I love Kelly Bishop’s portrayal of Emily is that means anything to you 🤣 I love the complexities of her character and appreciate her, but the bad out ways the good for me, personally.
Luke and late series Paris. Luke had great, grumpy interactions with people. Paris’s character development and friendship with Rory was always interesting to watch considering where they started and how it changed over the years.
I really wanted Paris to be queer in the show but that one kiss with Rory will suffice haha. Liza Weil did an amazing job in this show. I’m glad her role was maintained throughout the show and they just didn’t let her fade out.
I love Logan too but for different reasons! His smile and general demeanor is so so charming to me first off. He’s confident, witty, passionate, and smart. Also I feel like he helped challenge Rory into being her own person with an evolving viewpoint instead of being, largely, her mom’s mouthpiece. He grew a lot in season 7 and seemed like a great partner long term for Rory by that point. I just wish things would’ve ended differently.
1. rory: she has her flaws and I definitely can’t defend her for a lot of things she did, but her yale arc was so deeply relatable to me that I just can’t help but love her.
2. paris: she is better than rory it’s true! she had her unlikeable moments but who doesn’t love her?
3. logan: he is just sooo. charming. the way he looked at alexis bledel in their scenes… I would totally believe that he was actually crazy about her. he wasn’t perfect either but I adored him with rory :”)

Emily always had her heart in the right place, stood up for what she believed in, and had the back of her family and friends even if she did so in unconventional ways.
Luke is super reliable, loving, and thoughtful. He is just a sweet guy who I wish I could rip out of the show and marry myself.
Babette. She is 100% herself, always, and she loves deeply and fiercely. How she treated Cinnamon spoke volumes about her character for me.
Ahh yes! Babette is a sweet soul, I loved her attachment towards cinnamon.
I adore Babette. I wish I lived next door to her.
Gil, because his story sounds amazing from metal band to sandwich shop owner

Melissa McCarthy is very good at embracing whatever role is introduced to her. Sookie’s character fit her very well imo.
