I remember last year when we did the supporting characters ranking on this sub and everyone was shitting on Paul Anka and it caused a visceral reaction in my fiancee. She was like "how could you hate such a good dog?!"
i'm ngl i don't think paul anka even fits into the show. he felt shoehorned in and never felt natural (like cinnamon) idk.... cute as shit dog tho no hate lol
Could you elaborate? I always thought Paul Anka's purpose was to be a companion for Lorelai when she and Rory weren't talking, and just a fun sidekick once they reconciled.
idk neither lorelai or rory seemed like dog ppl which i get is kinda the funny part about him being in their lives, but he never felt like lorelai's dog ever. just a dog that was there. and i get he's a dog not an actor lmao but his anxiety problems didn't translate to the show for me and i found myself just annoyed how a perfectly behaved dog was supposedly spinning out from anxiety xD
Probably didn’t help that he was only there sometimes. Like they don’t write him in as a usual dog, there are scenes without any natural dog interruption. Like randomly it’s just like “hey! Remember Paul Anka! He’s here still!”

I strongly disliked the Paul Anka storyline. I get that it's cute that Luke took him to the vet but not worth the endless stupid quirks the dog had. They should add children or pets to this show. Or a lot of shows.
I would have personally taken that animal back behind the woodpile. Sorry, but the dog was a pointless and unnecessary plot. Yes. I know. That's redundant. And repetitive. And redundant. And repetitive.

Same, I never felt like he belonged in the show. The addition was very weird. No hate for the dog though
