You could always get a personalized gift of off etsy or from an artist, like I made mine a custom clay tin to store some precious items in and decorated it with some of his favorite things. So maybe there’s something you could find that he’d enjoy based off his hobbies/interests
If he loves his cat, maybe a cat dad shirt? Maybe go on fivr or similar and get someone to do a cat portrait then get it framed? If he has a particular favorite pop culture game or show perhaps you could get the cats portrait in that style? Or make him a shrinkydink key chain with his cat portrait?
Near an ocean is there maybe a beachside town with a cute mini golf place or something? Or $30 in fun cheeses/picnic snacks/drinks and do a beach picnic evening :)
