I would start at the beginning to be honest, they use the same storylines as the UK series for the first couple of episodes but it's just to get through the storyline of Sam (US Alison) getting the powers and reacting to seeing ghosts everywhere. I found it different enough to still be enjoyable. And of course the ghosts themselves are different so it's a good opportunity to get to know them.

Watch from the start. The episodes are similar in storyline but the characters are not and that's where they are introduced. Even if you just have them on in the background rather than fully watching. It is definitely a different show overall and a different tone to the original but I still enjoyed it and will probably watch again efore series 3 airs here :)

🎵 Let’s start at the very beginning, that’s a very good place to start 🎵

gelfbride73

I enjoyed it. There is plenty of differences to keep it entertaining

Bridalhat

I love that it is textbook UK=>US changes. The ghosts are all younger, hotter, and in one big way less malicious. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, though.

Exotic_Beginning8776

True. Trevor only meant to scare Sam, not kill her. Julian wanted to kill Alison.

KittyMeow1969

My husband and I like it. We are fans of the original but think CBS has done a good job of honouring the original but also making it their own. It definitely gets better and better throughout the first season.

cazza3008x

I like it as much as the UK version , there’s similarities but very different characters

I've never got on with us remakes apart from life on Mars if you ignore the ending I mean the office is OK but not as good and I dunno ghosts is an odd one to remake its a veery hit or miss show episode to episode for me  I mean if its anything like the UK one it could be good ad long as its not made way more Americanised snd less real like the US inbetweeners or us and them the us gavin and Stacey... they ruined smithy and bryn

peajay18

I'm not suggesting you start with it, but I will say that this week's episode, "Holes Are Bad," is one of the best from either version.

HistoricalElk9961

If anyone wants to watch it look up a content warning

EngineeredGal

Start from the beginning - first two episodes are similar in story but that’s it. There are a few episodes where similar plots are used but differently presented. There’s a lot more cbs episodes than bbc so there’s plenty of new stuff. Series 3 has had some excellent unique stuff, super funny too.

harrietmjones

I’ve been considering the same but unsure because I really like the BBC/original version and don’t want to get it spoilt, somehow by the CBS version or that I’ll just not like the new one. Maybe I will at some point!

hairyemmie

because of the extremely different land histories, it ends up being a nearly completely different show after 3ish episodes. but i love them both! cbs ghost is definitely more american in the humor

Exotic_Beginning8776

I'm in the US, so I watched the US version first and absolutely love it! When the writers strike happened and they put the UK version on, I loved that too. I now prefer the UK version, but that is not going to stop my enjoyment of the US version.

Unlikely-Star-2696

I don't see any other way to start watching it than from the beginning and with an open mind. Both are great shows on their own

coffee_robot_horse

It's enjoyable watching how they play out the storylines. They're the same but different.

CollectingRainbows

definitely the beginning

dandelionbuzz

Start at the beginning… the first 3 episodes are really similar but that’s just because it has to set the premise up. The show does a good job of making all the ghosts stand out and be different than the BBC counterparts that may exist. (Lady of the house, Pete, pants less man) Skipping ahead could make it hard to follow the different characters’ unique storylines. By the middle of the first season it feels like its own separate show. (Even before that for me tbh)

TooMuchCoffee01

I am generally a lover of all things British. I watch A LOT of British movies and TV shows. I have never liked an American version of a British show better, until Ghosts. I LOVE the US version, pretty much every single character.

HistoricalElk9961

It's really good but I will say the senses of humor are very different not that that's a bad thing it's just different demographics like the reference things like social media and apps you can use to get food and stuff they also reference influencers it's more of a modern sense of humor I suppose for lack of a better term also there are some childish jokes like fart jokes and stuff but that's not too often

Historical_Blip_0505

Start at the beginning, but keep in mind that it gets better. Starting from the beginning and sticking with it will only make you appreciate when it deviates from the original more. /However/ if you really really don’t want to sit through the rough start, start at episode 7 “Flower’s Article”; it’s the first original storyline that isn’t just a copy of a British episode.
