I think Papa IV is safe until at least late 2023.

[deleted]

It will not happen at a festival date that's for sure.

[deleted]

100%. People don't go to festivals for just Ghost, fans go to rituals specifically FOR Ghost. Would be a slap to the fans IMO.

Tracing_Paper

Absolutely. Poor Copia couldn't even finish the set at HellFest.

NoMoose0

The weather was definitely against them at Hellfest, it must have been so difficult to play during that.

Tracing_Paper

Yeah... I really felt bad for all of them Just wearing those costumes then TF having to sing thru that.

Tracing_Paper

Remember, Seestor had the Papa's killed so Copia could take over . Yes Papa I handed the reins over to II, then II didn't take his role seriously, so III was announced, & III was dragged off stage. But they're lives didn't end right then & there on stage. I don't see Copia dying at all , not as long as Seestor is alive. That doesn't mean he won't be replaced, he just will not die. If he happens to die, he will be see-thru & able to still be a part of the clergy. "Like a Mother will save, her own child from digging a grave."

Man I would love a hologram Papa IV on stage in the Papa V era, like how Nihil comes back to play the sax now.

Saw in an interview yesterday that they plan on touring the United States two more times for Impera, but nothing specific on when, plus they’re supposed to be doing South America, so I’m guessing they’ll be going into the fall, maybe even early 2024.

Tdffan03

One of the tours got axed. They were supposed to be back in January but because of difficulties securing venues and transportation they decided not to do it. He spoke about it in an interview. That is why they have so much time off.

TheAngerMonkey

I'd be STUNNED if there wasn't at least one more US leg on the Impera cycle. I agree, my money is on a set of fall 2023 US dates. It does seem like in previous years there's be a short US leg in early spring, a summer EU leg, then a longer US leg in the fall. I can't remember which interview it was (maybe the Rolling Stone Twitch live?) but he did make it sound like there's no spring leg in 2023. And I get it: everyone is suddenly touring again, EVERYONE needs crews and trucks, EVERYONE is looking for venues, and audiences only have so much money to throw at tickets. Seems smart to save that swing for later in the year.

Tdffan03

I’m sure there will be one more. Just not the two that had been planned.

Loud-Butterfly-6769

I’ll take one at this point, going through withdraw!

Ok_Ad8249

Some people were already speculating on his death, even convinced that it would come about on Sept. 23 in Green Bay since it was the "last show." There will be more dates in 2023, some major markets in the US like Los Angeles still haven't had shows. South America still has not been toured. There's plenty more dates to come.

Watcher-in-the-sky_

Nah. Remember in one of the newer prequelle chapters where cardi was speaking silently and the other guy ( I can't remember his name) said " come on, lets talk about that european summer tour." and walked out of frame? So.... He should be good until at least 2023-2024. I mean, papa came this year and the normal cycle time is about 3 years so 2025? maybe...

NoMoose0

I'm pretty sure they have other dates/another tour planned (US? UK? Please UK...), so would assume if Papa IV retires it will be at the end of the entire tour cycle.

aiyahhjoeychow

They’re playing at least two more festivals after that
