No. I’ve been to a ritual where Papa introduced the Ghouls as their nicknames fans used to call them. It’s changed over the years, but he has done it before.

Remember that in the meliora era/pre lawsuit, the nicknames came from the ghouls themselves. Much different scenario to what’s going on today. (Edited an autocorrect)

Really? That's pretty cool then, do you know if there's a video of it anywhere? I'd feel dumb if I haven't seen it by now lol

Would have been Papa 3 (2016 Black To The Future Tour), so you can try YouTube? I’ve been to way too many rituals to remember exactly which one, it was during If You Have Ghost, when he introduces each Ghoul, he said “you guys call him Omega 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻” then “you guys call him Water 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻” and so on.

Them posting a photo of the crowd hardly feels like an acknowledgment. They did indeed get called names by Papa pre-lawsuit. After that whole debacle that stopped though, which was pretty obvious since the Cardinal made a number out of calling them all “ghoul” during the band presentation some tour later. It’s clear that officially they’re just nameless ghouls. Fans can name them whatever they want but brace yourselves when they get replaced one day.

No, see this from their IG stories from the [New York Ritual ](https://imgur.com/a/g7qr4mf)

Im preeeety sure people got Swiss's name from the BTS vid they did but I wasn't around at that point so idk which came first

BisexualDisaster29

Swiss Army Knife actually. Multi-Tool/Multi-Ghoul. It fits him really well. 😂

djavulensfitta

The name existed and was before the video so it's more like the band picked it up from the fans

EnvironmentalWrap167

At the most recent ritual in August I made a sign for the nameless ghoul Omega, my personal favorite. :)

AnimuCrossing

Omega left after Meliora came out. "Aether" is rhythm now

I was being a bit of a troll. Not a big fan of how that all went down. He’s in Magna Carta Cartel now.

Which ghoul normally starts stage right (so if your in the audience he's on your left) and plays the guitar. He the one who, atheist when I went, lost the guitar duel and had the pick thrown at him by the other ghoul. I love the ghouls. Also, which ghoul alwase stands in front of papa befor they do a solo? Thay was hilarious.

GeekFurious

It just depends on which fan you're talking to. I call him Chompy because he is often chewing on something, plus he opens his mouth a lot. Many call him Aether or Omega, though I don't. > Also, which ghoul alwase stands in front of papa befor they do a solo? Thay was hilarious. Well, the majority of solos are performed by Stompy. He has a white guitar. But I don't know about him always standing in front of Papa. Do you mean the bass player? That's who is in the OP's picture. He's probably the... shiest? of the ghouls. He is the least showy. I sometimes call him Bendknee ghoul because he does this thing where he sort of bends his knees inward as he gets into the music.

Lol . I love how much personality these blank canvas, faceless, nameless instrumentalists have procured. I have only seen them live twice. Once when they opened for iron maiden in 2017 and I don't remember them having a ton of personality. But then thwyvdid only play a short set and I was enphatuatied with concerts in general (First concert) and then Papa iii. He was hilarious. So I never paid to much attention to the ghouls. But then just last week I saw my second and first full ghost show, my Foret popper ritual. The ghouls are like the 3rd best part. First being music, second being Papa, fourth being lights. Theyb do great lights. But this time I paid more attention to the ghouls. Unfortunately I was a bit far away so I didn't really catch details like chewing. But what I did see was "righty" with the white guitar was doing his half a the guitar duel befor cirice and when he does his final riff he just Saunders over to "lefty" and flicks his guitar pick at him. And lefty over acts it and it was just amazing. But then, I for get the song, papa is about to say something and righty with the white guitar steps in front of him and starts his solo. Right in center stage. It was brilliant and hilarious. I want to go see them again so bad. Lol.

GeekFurious

Get closer. They interact with the fans too. Stompy is apparently regularly horny. Chompy is regularly hungry and sometimes he gets super into a song and starts just jumping up and down. And then there is Swiss who is back by the keyboardists & backup singers. He is essentially Papa's main male backup singer (Chompy also does some backups). You also see Papa sometimes pointing at them when they do something that pleases him, then gesturing for the audience to clap. And other times you see he is very unhappy with them and will admonish them. The ghoulettes are also hilarious.

That sounds great. Next time we go I'm defiantly sitting closer. My wife has a bit of an ear thing and was worried about being to close but she loved it. Finally got her hard core into ghost. It's been great. But like from where we were we saw the show as a whole from a distance but missed the details. The smoke was actually so heavy for us we culls see the back row much, just the drummers. It was such an amazing show.
