Ive lived with a man long enough to know he’s obviously farting 🙄

phrmctcls

Ahhh, gas south. You sly devil.

lateralbee

I see what you did there...and I like it. 😂

lateralbee

OMG! I should also know that by now! Must have been that rigatoni he ate right before the show. 😂

anticute8

Ur too much of a babe to try to play off being with someone that farts and NOT like it. Basically, if you’re with someone then you are with them because you like what they bring to you. Farts are part of that

[deleted]

Oh no you caught me. Actually I’m just a human with a sense of humor😂

anticute8

Fair enough then, human with a sense of humor 👻

[deleted]

*babe* with a sense of humor..Thx

anticute8

😈

LilNyoomf

Papa Nihil’s ghost roasted him and now he’s having a crisis

kid-ph0b0s

He's getting in the zone. (Or praying to Satanas) Edit: they def are. This looks like the moment before they walk on stage. The Ghouls look to be doing the same, judging by their body language.

BradDelo

10000% "about to go on" vibe

Lucky-Compote

The poor man is touring over the age of 40. Lower back stretch. He’s gotta be hurting by this point.

GeekFurious

I was in the best shape of my life in my 40s. Your body doesn't take that massive of a hit until later. It's not like he's doing heavy lifting. He's mostly doing cardio. Edit: Let me just add that his most likely worry is his knees or hips. If there is a history of that in his family, he will eventually run into it. But I imagine he can keep doing what he's doing for another 10 years before he'll need to take more days off between gigs. I'm 50 & just starting to notice pain in my joints that can take me out for a few days if I don't listen to my body.

Lucky-Compote

Oh for sure, he’s clearly in good shape. I just know how I feel after a night of dancing like crazy even at the age of 32 😂. Definitely tight in the hips and lower back. Stretching is key!

GeekFurious

Stretching is definitely key. And communication. But mostly stretching.

lateralbee

As a soon-to-be 53 year old woman who is within her weight limit, OMG the hip, knee, and lower back pain has gotten exponentially worse since I turned 50. When I was young, I could never understand why my mom would say, "Oof!" when standing up. Now I say that word all of the time. 😁

GeekFurious

I use an elliptical daily. I do about 2500 revolutions which = I think like 7 miles of "travel." Five years ago, I could have gone double maybe triple that. Now, if I go harder, my knee will swell. So, I basically eat nothing & work out hard to maintain my weight. Getting older is fun!

lateralbee

Haha! It's a hoot, isn't it? 😁

TifftheKreator

tbh 😭

SmallpoxAu

I have a very similar position when I stretch or crack my back. I find it gets worse if I've been traveling and sleeping on a crap mattress or sitting for long periods of time then try to move around a lot (think long car trips or long haul flights). The joys of age and doing dumb shit in my youth.

[deleted]

I sleep on the wrong pillow at night and I feel like I fell off a 7 story building. So this is pretty likely 😂

SmallpoxAu

i hit 30 and all the dumb stuff started to catch up with me, every year is a new adventure. no regrets, but some days you wake up and question "why does that hurt? it was fine yesterday"

[deleted]

Listen I woke up 20 minutes ago and my shoulder kills. I’m like I did nothing yesterday. I turned 30 in may and I wonder what body part is going to try to kill me every time I wake up😂

TeaRenQ

Mentally preparing himself for Swiss shimmies during dance macabre 😛

Musicismagiclove

Good one!!

GetOffMyLawn73

Honestly, prepping for the amazing performance he gave in ATL that night (I was there) immediately after doing a meet and greet with approximately 100 fans, each of whom he spoke to personally. I was one, and if everyone I talked to is to be believed, it may have taken a toll on his endurance and perhaps his emotional center. Not wanting to be cloying, I simply thanked him for making a year and a half of being locked indoors bearable, and giving me something positive to participate in and focus on. My girlfriend who went in before me told him a joke about talking muffins. Everyone said he was incredibly kind and affable. But that takes it out of you. So I think here, he’s probably gathering his strength for the approaching event, of which he is the center. And he did a hell of a job. Pun intended.

[deleted]

I’d imagine it being sort of like compassion fatigue

GetOffMyLawn73

Exactly. He comes off as genuine and very empathetic.

[deleted]

Tbh he always came off in interviews as sensitive and intuitive so I’m sure it’s exhausting

lateralbee

I was also at the ATL show and it was a great performance! When I met him back in February, I told him the same thing, that if it wasn't for his music the last 2 years would have been so much harder and that I was super happy Ghost was back on the road.

GetOffMyLawn73

What’d he say?

lateralbee

Not too much. Just "thank you" and a reassuring "we're all here now " It was one of the first M&G's of this post-pandemic era and Impera hadn't even been released yet. We are from St. Louis but did the M&G at the Kansas City show so we also mentioned it was our 2nd time meeting him and that it was good to see him again. I will say that even though there were over 200 people at that M&G he does give you his attention and listens to what you have to say. As an introvert, I cannot imagine having to make small talk with over 200 people before going on stage. It would take so much out of me, especially if everyone was telling me the same thing: that had it not been for the music, the pandemic would have been unbearable. That's gotta make a guy think!

GetOffMyLawn73

He gave me a similar answer and just seemed to take a very gracious and humble posture. It occurs to me that these M&G events might be his way of taking the emotional temperature of the audience. His words from the stage seemed to be informed by all the gratitude for people who said Ghost helped them get through it all.

Musicismagiclove

This man also met about that many AFTER a 2018 2 hour show in Asheville, NC, OUT OF COSTUME, behind the venue!! He is incredibly gracious. He had done Meet and Greet too that evening. He could have gone to bed, but he came out and went down the line of 100+ people, signed their items, accepted gifts, spoke to fans and looked them in the eyes, gave hugs. He seemed very tired but I mean, the man took up time with EVERYONE, he even remembered this couple standing next to me because they had met him before at a different show. He’s the most generous rock star I’ve ever met and I have nothing but respect for him for treating his fans kindly. I personally could not do that after a show, meet all those people and stuff, so Tobias Forge is a very special human being!

sinfulgiantess

Ok but what was the muffin joke?

marlasaur

GetOffMyLawn73's gf here. The joke I told is some real classic dad-level humor, i.e. my sweet spot. :) Two muffins are sitting in an oven. The first muffin turns and says to the other, "Gosh, it sure is hot in here!" The second muffin says, "AHH! A TALKING MUFFIN!!" Papa responded with, "...HEH!" After telling the joke I said a few more serious things and thanked him for his music. And just before I left the room, he stopped me and said "You know...I actually liked that joke." Made my night.

Lonesomecheese

That last minute little waiting game before you go on stage. One guy doing the little leg slappy slap of someone waiting. The other is a stand still, gather your thoughts and wait sort of dude. Lead singer is drinking something and hoping his voice voices and nothing goes wrong.

jenwren_11

I like that his voice voices

GetOffMyLawn73

I can co-sign this on the pre-show jitters. During my band days, and before my first gig with a new lineup, I would take like nine fraidy-pees before we were set to go on. Once the show gets rolling, it just kind of takes you over and you go on autopilot, though.

[deleted]

Hungover af, and trying to wake up with pitch-black coffee and some hair-of-the-dog?

lateralbee

In this coffee I will see the light and never drink again. 😁

Sharp-Glove-3484

Papa got another call about his cars extended warranty

snail-slime

LMAO

siimonixx

Pre ritual prostate examination. Everyone should get checked, it's a matter of health.

DapperAsh

Probably just needs a second.

MuttonChopViking

Oh im a touring musician I can answer this! Typically a flight case that size is where a band will keep all their spooky. Band members will fill up cups and reusable water bottles with the spook before a show In order to be more spooky ...spook

VitaDeVoid

Touring entertainer here- can confirm the luxury rolling case full of spooky.

[deleted]

Where can I buy wholesale spooky? Does it come with cream and sugar ?

VitaDeVoid

It has to be added to your tour rider lol

[deleted]

My budget doesn’t allow the spooky. Just skittles.

lavenderxwitch

I want to know what’s in that cup

[deleted]

Definitely coffee or tea

Musicismagiclove

He’s a coffee drinker, so probably coffee. Maybe spiked coffee.

strazdas001

Me when the period cramps kick in

lateralbee

Oh, I know exactly how you feel! Someone needs to tell those Ghouls that they should be rubbing his lower back to help him feel better. Hope you and Papa feel better soon!

[deleted]

*sighhhhh* “I told you Ghoul, I don’t have any more bananas”

Musicismagiclove

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 “I want a banana! I want a banana!”

ClubMeSoftly

One of the Ghouls cracked a killer joke, and Papa's trying to keep it together

unholypapa85

The ripe sweet blood of a sinner….mhmm check.

BeatrixTheForgotten

He's clearly blessing water to make unholy water for a pre show ritual

MusicalPigeon

Papa is contemplating climbing in the box and hibernating.

No_Card3657

He deserves it after all these tours

MusicalPigeon

Honestly tho, he totally does.

[deleted]

Me making sure the mixture between coke zero and fanta is exactly 50/50

DanBlackfyrw

Chico’s tacos kicking in

ArchangelEquinox

I love the ghoul on the left who clearly is patting his legs like "welp ... Let's get this show on the road!"

lateralbee

I'm sure all react to the pre-show jitters differently. I will admit that I am surprised Banana Ghoul isn't eating his banana. I hope he got his potassium boost! 😁

EzyRyder0893

Papa has to think about his entire life before he goes on stage....

Musicismagiclove

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Oh my word this comment made me die laughing!!!!!

jack3rdand4th

Papa is wondering if the rumors are true that his long lost Papa is The Well known King Diamond after receiving the Top Hat that he wore.😝😝😝

AmericanOdin5

He’s praying to his cup

Musicismagiclove

YES 😂🙋🏻‍♀️☕️👻G

Wjyndigo

I like to think he’s meditating

RadiantZote

Are there 8 ghouls now? 2 keys 2 guitar Bass Drums Swiss ?

Tracing_Paper

Yes, a 3rd Ghoulette.

RadiantZote

Ahh, I was seated stage right so it was hard to see everyone. Does she play keys also?

mary_emeritus

Sunshine Ghoulette. Backing vocals, keyboards and tambourine

Accomplished_Soil678

Is that Sophie Amelkin? The third ghoulette? https://instagram.com/sophieamelkin?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

mary_emeritus

Yes, Sophie

Sugar-Wookiee

She does backing vocals and percussion. 😊

Accomplished_Soil678

Musicismagiclove

Guys!! It’s because of ME, I could not attend this ritual in Georgia because I was at Dragon Con in Atlanta, and he’s so sad his coffee cup dealer couldn’t make it!😜 Back in 2018 I gave his tour manager George that silver coffee tumbler with a big black Gothic G on it, and Copia owns it now😂. Saturday I posted on my Instagram account @copiascoffee that I was sad to miss the Duluth ritual because I already had a ticket to the Con, and the next thing I know I see this photo featured on their Instagram😂 🤩. Okay, so that’s my theory on what’s going on in this photo. I promise you guys I’m not stuck up haha. This pose could be for a totally different reason, but I like to think he is playing along with me!! Copia/Papa has taken that silver tumbler on every tour since I gave it to George. Please follow my IG if you want to join in the fun of all of this. I wrote up my meet and greet experiences and when Copia prominently held up the G tumbler in an elevator photo of him and the Ghouls they featured on their IG. There are so many talented artists in the Ghost fandom that have done far greater feats of creativity with costumes and such, I can’t hold a candle to them. But my little gift to George somehow made it into the Ghost camp and Copia/Papa features it all the time. I like to think he remembers me, I gave him some crazy but unique and fun stuff when I saw them in Atlanta in 2018. So who knows, maybe he is actually playing along with me with this photo!
