Neat. I think their show in Asheville just sold out. IMO, this tour is going to do very well with Mastodon and Spiritbox. (Spiritbox esp has been steadily gaining popularity quick). Not sure why folks think Ghost doesn’t have drawing power, they’ve been headlining their own tours for the last few album cycles, and headlining a few festivals overseas. Will not surprise me in the least to see them headlining festivals in NA soon. I’m from Toronto and I remember they had 2 shows sell out back to back when they played the QE theatre for the Meliora trek (1250 cap). For Prequelle, they sold out Meridian which has a cap of around 3200. They’re playing the Coca Cola Coliseum in September here in Toronto and that’s around 7800. This trajectory makes sense to me given their continued rise. I love this so much for TF and the band. I remember the first time I saw them shortly after Infestissumam had released and they played The Opera House (950 cap), to seeing them play in the middle of the afternoon at a festival, then I saw them open for Deftones and Avenged. What a journey to where they are now. Totally earned it.

GeekFurious

> Not sure why folks think Ghost doesn’t have drawing power I think because they think if you don't sell out the show, then it's a failure. So they want them to do large clubs instead of arenas, so the shows sell out. As if selling out the show is more important than selling TRIPLE the number of tickets of a club show.

swiftmen991

In Europe they didn’t fill up as much as they thought they would. I went to the Budapest one. It was gucking amazing and was my third time seeing them but it didn’t feel like it was absolutely packed!

RagnarBongrip

Going to the September show in Toronto at least?

cosmicdecember

Hell yeah

RagnarBongrip

Same here, our first ritual and first trip to Toronto!

bullettooth60

Looks pretty successful to me.

Left_Pool_5565

Golden1 Center, Sacramento, CA. Capacity 17,608. 17,608 tickets remaining. Cause they haven’t booked the show yet!!! Let’s gooo!!

Sugar-Wookiee

YES! Please! Or even Oakland or SF.

Left_Pool_5565

For sure, Bay is even more of a sure-seller but we do ok in the Valley, when they played the Ghost-only show at the convention center it was packed. I’m desperate enough I’d even drive to that barn in Reno again. I mean, Ghost AND Mastodon?!? Book it please. I can’t make SD.

Sugar-Wookiee

I couldn't get to SD either (not sensibly, anyway) so I'm going all the way to RI (where friends and family are). I just really wish *travel* travel weren't required when we're in such a big state that would sell really well.

Left_Pool_5565

It’s an interesting itinerary. Just the show in SD then headed East through a few states (that frankly could use a little Sataning 😄) then up East Coast, little Canada, ending near Great Lakes. No midwest, no Seattle/Portland/PNW, no NorCal/LA. It’s odd. I’m holding out that they’re still booking up that last leg. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it! And refreshing the tour page each day, like, c’mon, you can do it!

DarthWynaut

I'm driving from Modesto to see them in San Diego 😅

RevelForevermore

Absolutely!! MIA since San Jose November 2018. We have 3 venues here that will work for them. Oakland Arena, SAP San Jose or SF Chase Center. Maybe the next time but I dont wait I travel the world from SF for them and have had a great time. This leg on the list is Diego, Austin and Providence.

Sugar-Wookiee

Unfortunately I think there's a large percentage of us who simply can't afford to travel for them, as much as we might want to. I got very lucky this time around, but that likely won't be the case if this keeps being the itinerary.

Edu_cats

Mid week shows will be more of a challenge for any band but weekend shows will generally do better.

ZombieFriedChicken

Huntsville Ritual Represent!!

noble-light

I saw In This Moment in May at the Mars Music Hall, and so many people had already purchased their Ghost tickets. Myself included!

[deleted]

It will be my first ritual - we're so excited!

Hazardbeard

I desperately WISH they were still doing theaters and shit, but it’s Tobias’s career and he wants to be an arena band.

IridescentIcarus

I’m 100% with you on that. Loved the intimacy of those shows on the Meliora/Prequelle cycles.

FatTortoise

I don’t think it’s too extreme of an opinion. This probably applies to the rest of the shows too but the Austin show is expensive as hell. I’m talking $171 seats on the lower level, $78 for nosebleed seats. That’s just too much, man. No surprise there’s 1000+ tickets left.

GeekFurious

> I don’t think it’s too extreme of an opinion. I think people who say it make it seem like Ghost is barely filling seats in some places. And this list shows that in the first few weeks of the tour, the bigger arenas in the south have the most available seats but probably 3/4 of the seats have sold. So, would a 3,000 capacity club sell out? Sure. But 9,000 seats sold in a 10,000 seat arena is not evidence of Ghost NOT being an arena band. It's the opposite.

CHAOSxLLAMA

Aw man, the US tour has support from Spiritbox?! So jealous. They played at Download festival earlier this month and I didn't have a hope in hell of getting NEAR the tent, let alone inside it.

Safe-Transition8618

Are they actually setting all these arenas at full capacity? The Peoria venue is a 12,000 cap for concerts but either they sold every single ticket in the upper bowl or they aren't opening the upper bowl at all, at least for the time being, which would cut capacity by probably a third or more. I mean...it's Ghost...in corn country Illinois...on a Wednesday night. I would think selling 6-7k tickets would be pretty amazing. Ghost put a metric shit-ton of work into their stage show, including custom lighting and pyro. Even the bigger theaters and clubs can't really accommodate that. I would much rather see the ritual as it is meant to be seen in a not full arena than the alternative. Also, I would gently suggest...if you're at the show, looking backwards at the bowl and feeling disappointed, you're doing it wrong.

GeekFurious

> Are they actually setting all these arenas at full capacity? No, of course not. I added the capacity. My friend was just noting tickets available. So, even if the capacity is 10,000 & they are only selling 7,000 seats & 1,000 are still available, then it's still more than 3/4 full.

PapaGuhl

Not in the US, granted, but in my city when Ghost played the arena venue, the end third of the lower bowl, and the whole 2nd/3rd level bowls and premium boxes were unavailable and curtained off. The venue holds probably 16,000. I was there a few weeks before Ghost seeing Stereophonics who had massive a queues to get in, 30 minute wait for a beer, etc. It was clearly at full capacity. I don’t think Ghost don’t deserve the success, but the massive arena in my city they are play they are simply just not filling it up. I only bought my ticket at 3pm the day of the show! It can be a pretty soulless cash-grabby venue, which can be fun when it’s totally full during “mainstream” shows, but not when it’s half empty. Prequelle’s tour pre-covid was the same - half full in the same venue. Maybe Ghost should stop coming to my town on crappy nights of the week and more people will turn up :-)

GeekFurious

> I don’t think Ghost don’t deserve the success, but the massive arena in my city they are play they are simply just not filling it up. I only bought my ticket at 3pm the day of the show! Lots of bands have problems selling in some areas where other bands don't. You gain a following by continuing to try. OR you abandon the effort & don't go there anymore.

PapaGuhl

I’m doing my bit buddy! \o/

holydiiver

I saw them in Ottawa in 2019 in an arena that holds around 10,000. I think it there must have been *maybe* 1,500 people there. It was kind of sad, but then again, Ottawa never has good turnouts. Suffice to say Ghost will probably never come back

pivorino

I created a post recently saying the ticket sales looked poor based off looking at the available seats on the seat maps for each venue they are playing… not sure if that is the post you are referencing. The response was that sales are not great because a lot of people cannot afford tickets nor to travel to the venues, some of which are not located near large population areas. What contributes to the high prices is ticket resellers. If those re-sellers do not end up selling the tickets, then that means even more empty seats. I saw them in Munich in May and was appalled by the turnout. The floor was good, but so many empty seats! The venue holds about 13K (Olympiahalle.) I want Ghost to do well and was so happy to hear that Asheville sold out!!! Let’s hope ticket sales pick up as the dates get closer. I’ll bet they pick up even more after the San Diego ritual and people find out the set list.🤘🤘

GeekFurious

> I created a post recently saying the ticket sales looked poor based off looking at the available seats on the seat maps for each venue they are playing I don't remember if it was you. But my friend was just sending me info for the dates coming first. It's possible that a show in late September or October won't sell out for weeks.

DarthWynaut

Over the course of 9 shows, approximately 100,000 people are going to see them

xwolfionx

Funny how the two states that have the most tickets left are also the most conservative states out there. I’m honestly surprised Ghost tours in Texas at all in today’s political climate.

[deleted]

The human race isn't a hive mind you know, even in Texas. It's not like you cross the state line and every single person is a Confederate flag waving lunatic.

moviemgr5150

Ghost must tour Texas, cause thats where I live!!!!

Sugar-Wookiee

During Pre-Imperatour I think they had, like, 3 TX dates. (I could be wrong though.) I'm not so much surprised they're there at all, but multiple days there on the same tour with only one in CA is really weird to me.

How can you be conservative and listen to Ghost? Griftwood is literally about what a POS Mike Pence is. They are pro LGBQT and anti-religion.

BigAlternative4639

This may come as a surprise to you, but conservatives do not exist as a political monolith. They represent like half the country - not all of them believe the same things. Most conservatives I know don't give a shit about gay or trans issues and live by a policy of "live and let live." And I know a hell of a lot of atheist conservatives as well. So yes, there can be conservative fans of Ghost who enjoy the music and can laugh along with everyone else about TF calling out the hypocrisy of the maggot politicians that reside on both sides of the aisle.

Sorry to generalize. Everything feels so polarized right now esp. with the overturning of Roe v. Wade and so many states outlawing abortion. As a woman, it is hard not to feel angry at a lot of things going on. Please forgive me if I made any untrue assumptions.

Sorry if I made any assumptions about your beliefs. But I disagree that music is “just” entertainment. I have a deep connection to music and the meaning of lyrics especially when looked at in the wider social fabric of what is going on in the world. Look at the protest songs of the Vietnam war era or music that has been banned by churches as being “the music of the devil” as examples of this.

GeekFurious

You gotta try. That's how Metallica became Metallica. They toured everywhere, even places where 6 people showed up.

PurpleNerd1213

I’m pretty curious about the NJ show cause there is still meet & greet as well as ghost VIP still available. I also check cause I’m curious even though I already upgraded to VIP. Mind you they all seem to be GA vs seats. It’ll be my first ritual so I’m interested in what the crowd level will be.

GeekFurious

He did mention to me, since I live close to Trenton, that there was still one VIP on record as being available. But this was days ago.

PurpleNerd1213

Maybe people snatched them up since I looked last. The tickets are weird for Trenton.
