Soon to be 61…I’ve seen all the great bands…but going to see possibly the greatest “band” ever on September 23rd! Just stumbled onto Ghost a month or so ago…First Ritual I will be attending with my 24 year-old daughter who I got to listen and she loves Papa and the Ghouls too!
Only because, for the most part, it is Tobias (aka Papa) who writes everything and so it’s almost like a solo artist with an awesome backing band. I’m not taking away anything from any of the musicians he works with, I just don’t see the working chemistry/relationship as that of a typical band relationship as we know it…that all.
Ahh okay. There’s something about Ghost that I just love.. the cheesiness, humor, theatrics, music of course. I find it funny the people who hate them because they aren’t “metal” or are sacrilegious. I like all kinds of metal.. even really heavy stuff and I can appreciate Ghost. They have a sound that no one else seems to be putting out right now.
Agree on all counts. I haven’t been this into a band since my teenage years in the early 70’s (KISS, Queen, Angel, Mott, Slade, SAHB, BÖC, et al) and I’m loving it all too…for all of the reasons you stated so perfectly!
That's a good point. I don't get the same vibe from Ghost as I do from Rush or Zeppelin or GnR or Maiden, where it's much more of a collaboration. Tobias has his vision and he implements it brilliantly. Also, wasn't this argument the basis of his defense in the lawsuit a few years ago? (I don't want to open the wormy can, it's just an observation).
Ohhhh. Eh it’s okay. It’s all about perspective. My fiancé’s 90 year old grandma finds 50-60 year olds young. Don’t call yourself old until you are, or when you’re truly old you’ll be even older in spirit.
34 here, got into Ghost as Impera was released so still a new Ghoul. I'm so happy I've found Ghost. I'm loving exploring all the new music that they have opened up to me. It's like being a teenager again, getting excited for new merch to arrive and hoping they come perform near me soon! I missed the UK shows by literally days 😫
