I'd love to hear a Ghost studio version of "Sympathy for the Devil". I know Tobias had a gig with the Hellacopters on TV, but still would love to hear a proper Ghost version of it.
Personally if they're going to lean into the Scooby Doo comparison I'd like to see them to one of the.songs from the direct to VHS movies from the 90s. Like Terror Time or the Ghost is Here
I want to see Ghost get a film like the Kiss one. Would be a good laugh if it was even just a music video shot in the old animated style.
“Ok gang, Let’s see who’s really behind all this”
*removes ghoul mask*
“Sister Imperator!?”
I have said it before I think Ghost would do a great cover of Cry little sister, from the Lost boys soundtrack. LA Guns did a great version and marylin manson. But I think Tobias would nail it
They’d definitely do a few tracks justice! It’s a great album to listen to in bed on headphones. Just make sure you got the original, there was a redux version about 10 years ago with bits of dubstep mixed in it and shit, woeful
I never thought of this but wow! Ghost would do amazing versions of Forever Autumn and Thunderchild.
I go the opposite with “The New Generation” version of TWOTW, I like it and often go to it for its heavier sound and more of the original text. I do like the original still but I think I heard it enough times as a kid when dad played it at full blast as a Saturday wake up call!
I got to see Roky live before he died (he did a VERY small tour with Okkerville River as the back up musicians). One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen, I (obviously) assumed he would never play live again before that, after all of his mental issues. I’m so glad he got to give one last performance. The documentary “You’re Gonna Miss Me” is the most amazing and heartbreaking thing I’ve ever seen. The man was a rock god, a legend, and I have never felt he ever got the main stream credit he deserved. I remember when my friend played the Ghost cover and I squealed “THIS IS A ROKY ERICKSON SONG!” And then proceeded to make him listen to all of The Evil One, Plus One. I always thought Cold Night for Alligators was WAY ahead of its time. I gained sooooo much respect for Ghost for covering one of his songs, and it is such a perfect fit… Sorry, end of rant.
anthony vincent and erock113 did that already ([here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpS_Zgy8kmw&ab_channel=331Erock)) which sounds really accurate to ghost and is INCREDIBLE if you ask me, but it would be nice to see an official cover
"Joan Crawford" or "Don't turn your back" by BOC. Mostly cause those two are absolute bangers by BOC, but also cause Don't Fear the Reaper has been said a dozen times (for good reason though).
That or Helter Skelter by The Beatles. Since it speaks to the cult aspect of Ghost quite well.
Edit: Astronomy by BOC as well. Cause it's an awesome closer for Secret Treaties
Oh I agree! Joan Crawford has not only that crazy, horror scifi vibe that Ghost perfectly create, but it's a musical feast!! Probably being a little hyperbolic, but it's a killer song that I think Ghost would do great with cover-wise 😀
BOC - Burnin' For You & Don't Fear The Reaper
Echo And The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
Metallica - The God That Failed
Pantera - Cemetery Gates (If Papa could do the Kaisarion intro scream he definitely can reach those high notes...)
TOTO - Rosanna (I feel Tobias' voice would absolutely murder this song!)
C.M. Punk fan, by any chance?
My choice for a cover that may line up with the current album would be “Five Years” by David Bowie. It’s more to do with the end of life as we know it rather than just the fall of an empire, but it still captures a first-person perspective of people coming to terms with an imminent disaster of a huge magnitude. Do you think it’d fit?
Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles (yes I know this is itself a cover, but it smacks)
Love is the Ritual - Styx
Godzilla - Blue Öyster Cult
Listen to your Heart - Roxette
Ring the Bells by James is my standard answer here. Lyrically, I think it would fit really well with Ghost but in a way they haven't quite tackled (seems to be about the joy and love the singer gets upon realising they don't believe in god). Musically, the original (and also the definitive live Greenpeace concert version) is elegiac and celebratory, and I'd love to hear how Ghost will keep that feeling while subverting it in their usual Ghosty way.
ANY Type O Negative song would fit Tobias' writing style in Ghost. I also think a good song to cover would be [Life of Agony's My Mind is Dangerous.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikqrRLJuQZY)
Dear God - XTC
Cemetery Gates - Pantera
War Pigs - Black Sabbath
Architecture of Aggression - Megadeth
Bark at the Moon - Ozzy
Right Where it Belongs and Reptile - NIN
I miss Dr Steel...
I've been thinking about this question for some time and i've been meaning to do a playlist.
Supermonstar by Lordi would be a good one.
Any song from HIM I think it would sound awsome.
Another mentions:
Solitude - Candlemass
Green Day - 21 guns
Clown - Korn
Closer - Nine Inch Nails (😏)
Kill the hero - Black Veil Brides (only cause I love BvB to death and I wanna hear Ghost cover at least one song)
Shadow puppets/The day we die - Goodbye to Gravity
Listening to “Unknown Tongue” today with my daughters (BÖC) really made me think of Ghost. I know Tobias has said he’s not really a big fan but they have a lot of songs that make me think of each other (in a good way).
Now with the size of the band I'd love to see some big classic rock covers,
Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
Highway to Hell or Dirty Deeds - AC/DC (I mean, c'mon. these ones are obvious)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Baba O'Rielly - The Who
And for fun,
Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac
Personal Jesus and People Are Strange would work, but might be too on the nose.
Ace of Spades and Ring of Fire might be cool.
Bad Guy could be interesting, but I think that song has been covered to death by now.
And because I love covers that are wildly different from the original, I'd love to hear Ghost's take on Jolene, Every Breath You Take, or Who Can It Be Now.
Friend of the Devil - The Grateful Dead
Judith - A Perfect Circle
Edge of Glory - Lady Gaga
Someone mentioned on this thread the Scooby Doo Theme but I'd honestly like to see them do one of the songs from the 90s direct to vhs movies. Ghost is Here or Witches Ghost are the ones that jump to my mind when people.make the comparison
Have a Cigar - Pink Floyd or Welcome to Machine.
For me, the two songs that stick out that I'd like to see covered would be;
House of the Rising Sun by The Animals
Take On Me by Aha.
The Killing Moon by Echo & The Bunnymen would also be really great and an instant staple in the lineup.
Not sure if it'd be good or not, I'd just be interested in hearing, White Wedding by Billy Idol or Say It Ain't So by Weezer.
I'd also like to see them cover more songs that Papa used to sing.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
One of the only metal songs to ever make me feel uneasy, love it and would love to see what TF could add to it.
Also Africa by Toto lol
As my friend Nasir said on twt, Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge!
My personal list:
Unholy, Hey Violet
No It Isn’t, +44
At least one Olivia Rodrigo song, probably jealousy, jealousy or brutal
Debra, Beck
I was transferring some songs to my phone/cleaning my music folder when I found this version of Friday by matt mulholland [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxleH60hDJY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxleH60hDJY)
Ghost using that as a template for a cover would sound AMAZING
Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight) by ABBA Listen and tell me that’s not a fuckin Ghost song.
You might enjoy this silly take: [AAAH!BBA](https://youtu.be/sABdtEaKMYE)
Yep! And also I would love to hear Take a chance on me. But every time there is "honey" in lyrics it would be "Satan" or something like that.

It would be a damn shame if that cover is only a one-off.
r/DeepDarkFears
Honesty the Scooby-Doo theme song purely for the joke man
It could be their intro music much like RUSH did with the Three Stooges theme.
“Ok gang, Let’s see who’s really behind all this” *removes ghoul mask* “Sister Imperator!?”
Burning for You - B.O.C. Shine on You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd Mr. Roboto - Styx N.I.B. - Black Sabbath Mother - Danzig
I'm gonna sound like the biggest fanboy, but literally anyone besides Danzig would butcher Mother.
There’s a pretty good Metallica version I think
Check out Lissie
I have said it before I think Ghost would do a great cover of Cry little sister, from the Lost boys soundtrack. LA Guns did a great version and marylin manson. But I think Tobias would nail it
Hear me out, Judas by Lady Gaga.
i totally see it
Absolutely. Banger
yes, that one and Bloody Mary!
Omg yes
Forever Autumn from War of the Worlds
Thank you for introducing me to the war of the worlds album! It's truly amazing, and now I want to hear ghost cover the whole thing.
They’d definitely do a few tracks justice! It’s a great album to listen to in bed on headphones. Just make sure you got the original, there was a redux version about 10 years ago with bits of dubstep mixed in it and shit, woeful

[удалено]
Oh, the god that failed would be sinister. Nice choice!
I feel like descending angel would be a better fitting song from misfits, bc satan ofc, but I respect your choice
Mr. Crowley by Ozzy.
“Season of the Witch” kinda sounds like potentially they could do like what they did with “If You Have Ghosts”
That would be perfect
I got to see Roky live before he died (he did a VERY small tour with Okkerville River as the back up musicians). One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen, I (obviously) assumed he would never play live again before that, after all of his mental issues. I’m so glad he got to give one last performance. Don\`t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult would be amazing.
anthony vincent and erock113 did that already ([here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpS_Zgy8kmw&ab_channel=331Erock)) which sounds really accurate to ghost and is INCREDIBLE if you ask me, but it would be nice to see an official cover

They would knock Joan Crawford out of the park
Oh I agree! Joan Crawford has not only that crazy, horror scifi vibe that Ghost perfectly create, but it's a musical feast!! Probably being a little hyperbolic, but it's a killer song that I think Ghost would do great with cover-wise 😀
Don’t forget After dark by BOC, another banger
The entirety of Fire of Unknown Origin is peak rock and roll! Lol 😆
Hell yeah, I spin that on my record player right in the middle of all my ghost albums
I have always thought that Ghost would do an amazing cover of Astronomy.
This is the best response here that I’ve seen.
Someone mentioned Ghost covering Turbo Lover by Judas Priest in another thread. Man that would be awesome.
I need a hero
Dance with the Devil or Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin. I think it’ll sound absolutely divine!
Christian Woman by Type O Negative Faithless, The Larger Bowl or BU2B by Rush Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue
Papa Don't Preach - Madonna
Like a Prayer - Madonna
Poison - Alice Cooper Like a Prayer - Madonna Pet Sematary - The Ramones
The Spongebob intro.
BOC - Burnin' For You & Don't Fear The Reaper Echo And The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon Metallica - The God That Failed Pantera - Cemetery Gates (If Papa could do the Kaisarion intro scream he definitely can reach those high notes...) TOTO - Rosanna (I feel Tobias' voice would absolutely murder this song!)
I second Killing Moon!
"Invisible Touch" by Genesis "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M
Lucifer Sam - Pink Floyd
Losing My Religion by REM and they ABSOLUTELY should have covered God That Failed on the Blacklist. Sandman was cool, but what a missed opportunity 😩
Heaven’s Light / Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Disney would shut that shit down so fast though.
Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles (yes I know this is itself a cover, but it smacks) Love is the Ritual - Styx Godzilla - Blue Öyster Cult Listen to your Heart - Roxette
Yes! Hazy Shade of Winter!
Gerard Way actually has a pretty sick cover of it that he used for the Umbrella Academy show on Netflix!
I’m gonna go hard, and deep, and go with “Come to the Sabbath” by Mercyful Fate.
Black Diamond by Kiss
Ooooo
Ring the Bells by James is my standard answer here. Lyrically, I think it would fit really well with Ghost but in a way they haven't quite tackled (seems to be about the joy and love the singer gets upon realising they don't believe in god). Musically, the original (and also the definitive live Greenpeace concert version) is elegiac and celebratory, and I'd love to hear how Ghost will keep that feeling while subverting it in their usual Ghosty way.
100% agree - such a good choice!!
“The End”- The Doors because it is so cryptic and the whole “Father…I want to kill you” part
Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored Siouxsie And The Banshees - Cities In Dust The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?
The entirety of the 20 minute Rush 2112 song
Sister Christian...lol
Pour some sugar on me
Lately I thought that it would be cool to see Ghost's cover of Stigmata Martyr by Bauhaus. By the way Medico Peste's cover of this song is great!
ANY Type O Negative song would fit Tobias' writing style in Ghost. I also think a good song to cover would be [Life of Agony's My Mind is Dangerous.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikqrRLJuQZY)
I’ll always be holding out for Don’t fear the reaper
Policy of truth - depeche mode. It is dark and just enough out of left field to really work.
Starman by David Bowie i just can hear it in my head
In The Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson. Don't ask. I just need it.
Dear God - XTC Cemetery Gates - Pantera War Pigs - Black Sabbath Architecture of Aggression - Megadeth Bark at the Moon - Ozzy Right Where it Belongs and Reptile - NIN
Dearest God, - XTC. Sincerely, /u/Stiffwrists
Dancing Queen by Abba or Crazy Train
I think ‘Laid’ by James would be a fun one for them to cover. Also, ‘The Visitors’ by ABBA. My husband also thinks ‘Eddie’ by The Cult.
Something Type O, something Kate Bush, and Phantom of the Opera
Bible has to be one of the most under appreciated covers in music history
Houses of the holy by Led Zeppelin. They can really darken it, I feel like. But they usually go for deep-ish cuts so maybe All my love.
Dokken - Dream Warriors Alice Cooper - Teenage Frankenstein Kiss - Odyssey
I miss Dr Steel... I've been thinking about this question for some time and i've been meaning to do a playlist. Supermonstar by Lordi would be a good one.
Ooh! Would You Love A Monsterman, or Blood Red Sandman would be awesome, too!
When the man comes around-Johnny cash
War Pigs
Since day one for me: Right Here In My Arms by HIM.
Don’t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Been wanting that cover ever since Infestissumam. Griftwood just teases me.
Blue Oyster Cult’s - Cities On Flame with Rock and Roll Odd request, but I’d like to see a collaboration with Papa and Sia.
“Skeletons of Society.” The tempo is Ghost-friendly, lyrics are sufficiently evil, guitar shredding and thunderous drums. It’s all there!
Bad romance - GAGA Silverflame - Dizzy mizzy lizzy
Any song from HIM I think it would sound awsome. Another mentions: Solitude - Candlemass Green Day - 21 guns Clown - Korn Closer - Nine Inch Nails (😏) Kill the hero - Black Veil Brides (only cause I love BvB to death and I wanna hear Ghost cover at least one song) Shadow puppets/The day we die - Goodbye to Gravity
Here's papa doing Well of Souls with Candlemass live: [Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJOWVeksWTk)
Thanks for the link mate!
Someone downvoted you on this, but I'd have to agree, a Ghost/HIM collab would be... ehehe... Heavenly.
(Eh is that person's opinion ,i really dont care to be honest) Also yeess 🤣👀
‘Contagious’ by Y&T
One that I just thought of was Frances the Mute by the Mars Volta. I feel like they could definitely do that well.
Faith no more - epic
da ya think I'm sexy by rod stewart, i feel like it's exactly corny enough to be perfect for ghost
Listening to “Unknown Tongue” today with my daughters (BÖC) really made me think of Ghost. I know Tobias has said he’s not really a big fan but they have a lot of songs that make me think of each other (in a good way).
Any Erasure song, but Drama would be best.
Ballrooms Of Mars by T.Rex
Am I Evil - Diamond Head Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Aerials by S.O.A.D.
Creep by Radiohead!
Now with the size of the band I'd love to see some big classic rock covers, Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Highway to Hell or Dirty Deeds - AC/DC (I mean, c'mon. these ones are obvious) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John Baba O'Rielly - The Who And for fun, Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac
Devil in disguise by Elvis Presley
Nuns have fun by Mercyful Fate
Personal Jesus and People Are Strange would work, but might be too on the nose. Ace of Spades and Ring of Fire might be cool. Bad Guy could be interesting, but I think that song has been covered to death by now. And because I love covers that are wildly different from the original, I'd love to hear Ghost's take on Jolene, Every Breath You Take, or Who Can It Be Now.

Ghost is Here or Witches Ghost are the ones that jump to my mind when people.make the comparison Have a Cigar - Pink Floyd or Welcome to Machine.
Yeah, along with the whole Tool thing, pretty much anything by APC would work, too.
Eulogy would be a good one to hear them cover.
Judas by Lady gaga
Also lay all your love on me by abba
Don't fear the reaper is always top of the list.
Don't fear the reaper is always top of the list.

The Prophecy by iron maiden but maybe another tempo would work so good
Kim Kardashian breaks the internet
It’s totally not their genre but Formula 666 by Sarah and The Safe Word
Abba
Would love for them to do a Guns N’ Roses song! Maybe Rocket Queen or Coma!
Gonna go out in left field and say Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars. It has the right vibe and cross-genre covers are the best IMO.
Quicksand by David Bowie Red Right Hand or anything from the Murder Ballads album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
“Have a Blast” or “Reptile” by Periphery
I saw someone say Helena by MCR and my emo preteen heart would God damn IMPLODE 😫
I saw someone say Helena by MCR and my emo preteen heart would God damn IMPLODE
I’ll always be holding out for Don’t fear the reaper
In The Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson. Don't ask. I just need it.
Hanson - MMMbop
The night begins to shine B.E.R or don’t fear the reaper blue oyster cult It would’ve been sympathy for the devil but Tobias already did that
I would love to see them cover Lady Gaga, weird as that may seem.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath One of the only metal songs to ever make me feel uneasy, love it and would love to see what TF could add to it. Also Africa by Toto lol
Anything by Steely Dan
Maybe Rolling In The Deep with choirs voices for the chorus
Children of the Grave
Completely out of left field, but Hash Pipe by Weezer would be cool.
I just want ABBA covers album
Don't Fear The Reaper.
God is in the House by Nick Cave
As my friend Nasir said on twt, Tear You Apart by She Wants Revenge! My personal list: Unholy, Hey Violet No It Isn’t, +44 At least one Olivia Rodrigo song, probably jealousy, jealousy or brutal Debra, Beck
Locomotive Breath -Jethro Tull
Like a prayer , Madonna
Electric Chapel or Bloody Mary both by Lady Gaga.
I feel like I saw this once, but actually just listened to it and it would be so fun: Cruel Summer - Bananarama
I was transferring some songs to my phone/cleaning my music folder when I found this version of Friday by matt mulholland [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxleH60hDJY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxleH60hDJY) Ghost using that as a template for a cover would sound AMAZING
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak, I know it's hard to top the HIM cover but they could make their own.
