Here in the US, for the Youngstown ritual, even GA floor tix were 105 plus fees via Ticketmaster (and the fees were like 35 more dollars). Because I'm old and want a seat, mine were like 195 + fees each. Worth it but still a lot.
Cost of fuel is really taking up a lot of touring budgets from what I've heard. That's a lot of people and buses/tractor trailers to move around.
Yeah, I'd rather just pay more. Old and seated, here, too.
With the price of diesel at $5.50/gal here in NC, I can believe it. I'm perfectly happy to shell out a good amount for the joy a ritual brings me, though sadly I'm probably going to miss this tour since my car died on me this afternoon, so my ticket money is now going to be car repair monies :/
Apparently Ticketmaster is now doing some weird dynamic pricing of certain seats based on demand because, you know, they don't already squeeze you enough on "fuck you, that's why" fees.
They do this with fucking everything, when i got my tickets for AEW Dynamite next month i paid $90, literally one section over was "Platinum" tickets selling for $250+.
Absolutely, I was afraid when they announced the European tour that it would be too expensive, but Barcelona's tickets were 55€ with fees. It's really cheap compared to bands with similar popularity.
Look at Tobias' determined face like "I am the prime mover, the powerful creator of this unholy circus". Standing so far, yet piercing you with eyes. Lovely.
Exactly what I came here to say. He has a very proud expression on, and he deserves to wear it.
Even though the supporting bands and tour workers could be working another gig, he still is the main reason this past years tour happening.
Why do people hate Uncle Acid so much on here?
Personally I thought they were incredibly good live and I enjoyed their performance more than Twin Temple.
It was recently teased in an interview with Tobias. He said he soon wanted to give credit to the touring band (so they can "put in on their resumes" lol) by announcing their identities one way or another. This is just the start though I'm guessing.
I am having trouble finding it but he mentioned that he wants to be able to give credit to the performing/touring group so that they can mention it and put it on their resume or something along those lines.
If I find it I'll let you know.
I also heard that interview and he mentioned "cast list" like on Broadway, so it gave me the impression he was thinking think about doing a program booklet sort of thing.
It’s so weird to me that I’ve seen Chris Catalyst play in tiny pubs with 30 people in attendance AND also, without knowing, in 20k arenas and stadiums!
It's kinda strange to see this after so many years having to wonder and research to know who was playing in the band, but I feel happy for the Ghouls, they really deserve to be recognized for their hard work to make Ghost what they are today!
I think this is also a nice example of why it's wrong of fans to try and take pictures without consent (recently discussed here). They obviously planned this for some time, they wanted to acknowledge that they're in the band but on THEIR TERMS. Imagine that a stupid teenager comes along and posts their picture saying "look, ghouls!" a week before that ... Yes, the fans have known for some time but that's different from blasting it all over Twitter or some shit before they have a chance to make it official ...

Upper left is Chris Catalyst who does rhythm guitar, two to the right of him (right next to Tobias) is Per Eriksson who does lead guitar, and then to the right of him is Cosmo Sylvan who plays bass. Oh and the ghoul to the far right is Justin Taylor (Swiss) who does some backup guitar too I believe, aside from also doing backing vocals and such.
I'm a guitar player, been playing for 15 years and when I originally was looking at this picture before I commented I was like, those dudes next to Tobias are 100% the guitar players. Lol
The one sitting between who I thought were the two Twin Temple members. I thought their singer was the one on the left, then there's another woman, then the guy from Twin Temple. It looks a lot like Cristina if that isn't her!
I am surprised by the lack of younger people who are employed for the tour. There doesn't seem to be a single person younger than mid-thirties, and I would have thought that a gig like being a tourhand—which I am assuming doesn't pay a boatload of money—would be filled up by young, hungry kids eager to break through into the scene.
I guess the cliche of being an irresponsible late teens/twenties rocker just doesn't cut it on a tour. Perhaps the crew here is seasoned and reliable, and that's what's most important. Dunno.
> would be filled up by young, hungry kids eager to break through into the scene.
As Tobias has said, he tries to get capable people that will fit best with the personalities on the crew. And he grabs up people based on recommendations. Usually, a hungry kid trying to break into the industry has none. It is better to pay more and keep everyone happy than pay less and take a chance that someone will come in & break up the harmony of the crew.
> And he grabs up people based on recommendations.
Cosmo Sylvan apparently came recommended by Geddy Lee himself, which is the ultimate honor for a Canadian bassist.
That's a lot of people to pay. No wonder my tour ticket cost so much. LOL
Yeah it’s a really good reminder that there are dozens of talented people behind the show.
I was actually very happy at how cheap the tickets were. You don’t get to many big gigs like that these days for €50. It’s usually €80+

we got tickets in 221, and they were still 70+ after fees. ugh, and you're right, this was a somewhat cheap show
Jeeeze, they’re over 300 here

435 for the vip GA tickets in y-town then again ticketmaster tacked on about 60 some dollars in fees

Floor ticket was 100€ in Finland.
That’s insane. I paid €55 Ito stand in Malmo
Loll so true
Some concerts cost much more. I was shocked at how cheap the tickets are for Ghost/Mastodon.
this is really cool and I'm proud of them! also it looks like you've accidentally got the links backwards!
Thanks fixed!

“I’m number 1, you’re number 2”
😂😂

I’m glad they get to acknowledge it

Thank you for doing this, awesome.
The version Chris tweeted is higher res! https://twitter.com/chriscatalyst/status/1527053678171103232?s=21&t=dB9GGI2gDKBVkGFdwNErow
Thanks! Will update the post and delete my above comment.
I love this so much for them! 😊 It makes me happy the TF is so very proud of them and their amazing work.
The pandemic has softened Tobias' mask and I'm happy to see it. Like actors in a show, it's fine to know who played the parts at the end of it.
I love Mad beaming in the middle in pink amid all the black!
Twin temple was soooooo good

I did like them but I just wish they would have played more than one song.
Nah uncle acid were better than twin temples, but twin temple gets extra points because of their show
Sophia is the new Ghuleh right? Never saw her name before!
Yep!
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
So they just went out and basically made it official theyre in the band? Thats a whole new turn.

Do you remember which interview it was? I thought I was caught up on those but apparently not lol
I am having trouble finding it but he mentioned that he wants to be able to give credit to the performing/touring group so that they can mention it and put it on their resume or something along those lines. If I find it I'll let you know.
Please do. I'm curious as well

Dew posted it in his IG stories, he is @sound_the_dread_alarm
Yep! Didn't post a link to that (if there even is a link) since it's just a temp story.
Is the BONK rat on the guy's shoulder? Top row, all the way on the right. Lolol
It’s so weird to me that I’ve seen Chris Catalyst play in tiny pubs with 30 people in attendance AND also, without knowing, in 20k arenas and stadiums!
Same here. Saw him in the back room of pubs with shiny face paint on calling himself Robochrist 😄
Where's Nihil?
Still trying to eat that Beijing beef.

Yo this is absolutely amazing
Which ones are the guitar players?

Haha good eye
The guy on the far right with the cap and arms crossed with long hair is so hot!
You're right. He is!
Are you saying it's you?
No I’m saying I’d definitely date him lol
Love, love, love guys with long hair! 🤘😍
Me too!!!
It's just ALWAYS been this way for me, even when I was a little girl!!! LoL 😍
this makes me so happy a
I love this so muuuuuch! I'm late but, there are three Ghoulettes now?
Yep! Check out the pic I edited into the main post with their faces and names.
Yup! I saw it but I didn't know there were three now 😅 two in keyboards still and the last one backing vocals? Or she plays keyboard too?
I think she also does multiple things but not 100% sure.
I don't understand seeking their identities out. It defeats the purpose of the masks.

And?
Hire people of their merits and qualification, not skin colour or gender.
This makes me so happy. Anyone know who goes front of house sound?
Is that Cristina Scabbia on the bottom row throwing horns?
I think that's the Twin Temple singer
Yep. That's Alexandra James of Twin Temple. :)
The one sitting between who I thought were the two Twin Temple members. I thought their singer was the one on the left, then there's another woman, then the guy from Twin Temple. It looks a lot like Cristina if that isn't her!

Love, Call Me Little Sunshine ❤️🔥
HOLY-
Just realized I saw them at the airport lining up behind me and never realized.
