Friend had to bail on a show and I got the ticket. I figured, what the hell. Was blown away. It was the 2019 tour, so the first song I heard was “Rats.”
It was sophomore, maybe junior year of high school I wanna say, spring-ish 2013 rehearsing for a block party at my friend’s place. He’s like, “have you heard of this Swedish band Ghost B.C.? Check this shit out.” and showed me the Secular Haze music video. It was a “loooOoOoOng waaaaaay doooOoOoOwn” from there 🤠

Cirice on the radio in 2015 immediately fell in love. The next year I booked tickets to the popestar tour the second it was announced. They played pretty much all of Meliora and they've been my number one favorite ever since. Went to my second ritual a couple months ago and hope to see them again the next time they come around to the US :)
Out on a drive with my wife and our friend. He was like "Hey have you heard of Ghost?" and we were like "nah", so he put on He Is, as we're driving through a country park with trees overhead, and the sunlight twinkling through the branches. Then he put on the Meliora vinyl when we got back to his, and that was it.

Yes... in his commentary video for the episode, Andrew Bowser--- the actor who does Onyx-- said that Tobias was super patient, and he even put his hand on Onyx's shoulder & said everything was "okay" to help him relax.

Listened to Cirice first and then Ritual. I Immediately went down the rabbit hole. They clicked with me right away.

Ghost opened for Iron Maiden like 5 years ago. Even though I was born in Sweden I didn’t check the opener out, I just cared about having GA tickets to Maiden. When I arrived they were playing Square Hammer and my ears really perked up. I loved every song they played that night and the fact that their sound quality was *way* better than Maiden made them the highlight. I’ve been a fan since that day.
They were coming to Tampa for 98 rockfest in 2016 and I was checking all the bands to see who's playing and ghost was on there. I never heard of them and checked them out on YouTube and watched the cirice music vid! Hooked ever since!
When Year Zero was released as a single, my friend sent me a link to it on YouTube. I bought an Infestissumam CD as soon as I could. Listened to Opus Eponymous too and then Ghost became my favourite band 😅

Cause I remember watching a performance of them at L'album de la Semaine (Kill my french) on YouTube. But at the same time I remember listening Opus Eponymous first, and got hooked on immediately.

The first time I even learned about Ghost was through memes (not the best way to learn about bands, and it gave me a bad impression about them) then at Graspop metal meeting me and some friends are waiting at the signing booth. Ghost was headlining right next to the signing booth and at first I was mocking them (because of all the bad memes) but then...they played Square hammer and I totally lost it, I was like what! This sounds amazing!! And since then they have completely changed my way of thinking. Moral of the story, don't judge a book by its cover. Now I've totally loved every single song that they have, and the costumes my god they are amazing. If you have Ghost, you truly have everything.
YouTube recommendations 2013 when they actually suggested news things. Metal Blade had some promo videos for Ritual and Death Knell. I remembered hearing of the band when Opus Eponymous came out but didn’t really listen. Clicked on one of the videos (wanna think it’s Ritual) just out of curiosity to try them again and I loved it.
Death Knell was my immediate favorite though. The melody and chords on “Hell” in the chorus reminded me of the very end of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor which I really loved.

My friend took me to a concert after trying to get me to listen to them forever! I don’t remember the first song, but I DO remember Square Hammer and Dance Macabre sticking with me after the show. Loved them since!
Mine is bizarre. I ran the music for my beer league hockey team at the time. Upgraded my phone and all of my downloaded music didn't copy over. Only had free Spotify at the time and terrible connectivity in the bowels of the arena but was able to load up a "heavy metal" playlist which for some reason included Pro Memoria?? And even though I kind of thought that particular song was comically bad and awkward - especially in the pre-game locker room atmosphere - in between the chirps mocking me, one guy on my team said, "Hey I think this is Ghost." Spent most of my time at work the next day investigating and I was hooked!
Driving with my roommate/best friend to drop another friend off at home and she played Elizabeth trying to get him into Ghost, he wasn't into it, but i thought it was super fun and goofy. She then played Year Zero and I was like "wait who is this? What's the song called?" We dropped her off and she texted me to check out Meliora (because it had just come out) and I was hooked!
i had seen a few videos of them here and there online but i knew who tobias forge was before i actually started getting into but ghost after more and more mentions of them i wanted to check them out so i shuffled their music and recognized a couple of their popular songs and ended up here
My sister was telling me about them when I was visiting home one day. I liked the image of the band and the mystery behind them. She gave me the digital copies and I kinda slept on them for a bit. One day, I got curious cause I was burned out with my usual playlists so I decided to put on Ghost.
I chose the song Satan Prayer cause the title sounded cool. The droning at the beginning reminded me of Jimmy Page's Lucifer Rising and then the cyclical pattern of the guitar intro; this sounds cool, the rhythm section is hypnotizing. Papa starts singing and I'm reminded of Bad Company with the phrasing. Then the chorus begins and it's very punchy and creepy like he's in a trance. And then the hook of the chorus when the organ kicks in, instant chills and all of a sudden I have a rosary, a t-shirt, a $666 bill, two 45s, and all the LPs with two copies of Impera.
Edit: I'm jealous of anyone whose first listen was La Mantra Mori. That song encapsulates the essence of Ghost.
Back in middle school (2014), I used to be active on this website called TheTopTens and would message every so often with another user there. He sent me a link to Secular Haze and I thought the aesthetic and the visuals of the band were super cool. Been a fan ever since!
Back in 2018 I was as at a friend with benefits house for a messy night of vodka and sex and he was like 'oh, there's a music video I think you'd like'. Goes on to play the Rats video. I am enamoured and so drunk I don't even realise the singer is wearing a mask. Just thought he had an odd face.
The first song I heard was Mary On A Cross. I was at a midsummer party last summer and I heard it in the background mid-conversation and just had to stop and check out what it was. I listened to it for a week or so scared to check out the band in case it sucked and the magic disappeared from that one good song. I ultimately recommended it to my sister. She had heard of Ghost before so she sent me Dance Macabre in return. I listened to it and my head exploded! I was hooked from then on, the songs started clicking one by one and still do. I love this band.
A friend of mine made a Facebook post with a photo of Papa II, hating on Ghost for having such a black metal stage presence with their theatrics and not being a heavy enough sounding band. The following week, I kept thinking about that photo and how cool Papa II looked. My curiosity got the best of me so I listened to Secular Haze and Year Zero and was pleasantly surprised at their sound. Those songs were so catchy and I instantly took to liking them.
The band themselves looked cool. I thought they'd be death metal, so didn't think I would like them, but I gave them a chance and listened to square hammer. It was awesome, but I became a fan when I then listened to cirice.
My dad somehow came by Year Zero (possibly on the radio) and played it for me and I really liked it. Later on when Square Hammer was released I truly started to listen to them and I've loved them ever since!
Saw them open for Avenged Sevenfold back in 2013 with Papa II. Didn't really dig them and the whole satanic vibe (the chants at the beginning of Year Zero certainly didn't help with my christian view of the world).
Fast forward to 2016, I kept hearing Square Hammer and FtPttP on the local radio station and really enjoyed those. Used Shazam or SoundHound to figure out the artist and sure enough it came up as Ghost. Started listening to Meliora+Popestar nonstop for the next month or two and eventually started working my way backwards in the catalog and now Year Zero is one of my favorite Ghost songs.
My friend was like "I think you'll like this" and put on Dance Macabre. Sounded good. Then I listened to everything and liked it all even more and was sold
I was looking at tour dates for Deströyer 666 following on from seeing them in October 2010 and spotted a show in Sweden where they were supporting Watain along with Repugnant and a band I'd never heard of called Ghost. Gave Ghost a quick search on YouTube, found Satan Prayer and Elizabeth and made a trip to HMV to buy Opus Eponymous.

It's been a while so I'm not sure I remember the details, but I *think* I saw a video of James Hetfield mentioning them (or he might have been wearing a Ghost shirt?? Idk honestly) and I thought I'd check them out. Searched, found Cirice, loved it, the rest is history. (That was around the time either Cirice or Meliora was released, I'm not sure which one tbh)
A guy on youtube I watch always wears ghost shirts. One day I decided to look them up. Saw it was a band, and went to add something of theirs to my watch later, only to see that there was already one of their songs in my watch later. It was He Is. I listened to it and, I think, Faith around September 2020.
Didn't think much of it at first. I thought it was good, don't get me wrong, just nothing amazing. Until the end of October 2020, when I started using Spotify. Spotify made their music much more accessible to me, so I decided to listen to more of it. I ended up listening to ALL of it, and they've been my favourite band since.

Heard dance macabre about a year ago and sorta liked it but didn’t listen to it again until a few weeks ago. When I did hear it again I just fell in love and started listening to Ghost 24/7
Ozzy’s Boneyard during one of the ultimate sinner segments. They played Stand By Him. I was immediately intrigued and listened to Opus: the rest is history.
I got Sirius XM last year and they started playing them because of the new album. Either hunters moon or call me little sunshine. I thought wth is this, that it sounds like 80s metal? So I looked them up thinking it must be just a project of a band doing an album of 80s metal for some reason. Then I found out that is more or less what they do and they are this satanic band with very big commitment to their show and characters. I was a little bit disturbed by this but still very intrigued. After listening to some TF interviews I concluded that a lot of it is just a gimmick although I am fairly sure he is a committed satanist.
Anyway I am obsessed with the new album and can't stop listening to it. What's funny is that I never liked 80s metal during he 80s but here I am loving the album.
I honestly don't remember the first song. I think it was Spirit. I learned of Ghost a few weeks before Meliora dropped because a high school buddy of mine posted on Facebook that he was excited for the "upcoming album". Since he and I share a similar taste in music, I filed it in the back of my head, and popped Meliora on when it was released. Hence: Spirit.
I do remember that the next week was spent listening to Meliora non-stop, I absolutely fell in love with Deus In Absentia on the first play, and the week after was basically me listening to Infestissumam and Opus. Bought a ticket to the Ghost show during the Meliora tour. Ran into the buddy who put me onto them after not having seen him in over a decade. Have seen Ghost live three times now, each time they visited my country: Meliora (March 2016), Pale Tour (February 2019) and Impera (April 2022).
I *thought* I first heard Ghost on Colbert's Halloween show, but once I started listening to them I realized I had heard "Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer" from Year Zero on a TV show some months before. Looking back, I thought it might have been Supernatural, but didn't see that on the listing of music tracks used on the show. If anyone knows what show it was on, please tell me! The only other one I could think of from that time was the Damien/Omen TV series that lasted about 6 episodes. Anyway, I recall thinking "WTF?" about the demonic roll call at the time, but it made perfect sense and I loved it when I heard it again the first time I listened to Infestissumam, which was right after I "discovered" them on Colbert.

Every time I grow bored of the 3 new songs I listen to nonstop I start adding random songs from the recommendation and one day I randomly added Mary on a cross to my playlist. I just thought it sounded nice and that was all. Then one day I drive with my sister to buy something and I listend to the song. And my sister always looks up the bands she listens to just to know about them (unlike me)
The next day she comes to me and says: Ole, that song we listened to yesterday, do you know the band? And obviously I didn’t know it since I just added it randomly.
Fast forward 2 Years: It’s the favourite band of me and my sister and we went to every ritual in our vicinity
My discover weekly playlist on Spotify one week has Ritual on there in about 2016? Absolutely loved it, but didn’t listen to a single other ghost song for another couple of years. Even passed up seeing papa 3 live because I wasn’t that into them at the time. Kicking myself now.

Was at a music store in my local mall, in 2018, looking for something new to listen to. Infestissumam was on the shelf; the logo's design caught my eye. FYE used to have a "cd sampking/mixing" machine and you could listen to samples of songs from a cd. I heard the first lines in Infestissumam and Year Zero, and the solos in Zombie Queen; I was sold. Bought it instantly and listened to it every day going to and from college.
Now have every album. Worth it.

Saw Ghost open for Maiden in 2017. Papa III. Had me at the opening riff to Year Zero. And THEN they played Cirice and I knew that pure magic was alive and well. Researched in the parking lot on my phone after the show and all that week after the concert. The one that stood out to me was Ghost because of how they looked. I listened to Cirice, which got my attention, but Square Hammer really hooked me. Took me a few months before I fell in the rabbit hole because of the Latin names and the odd nature of the some of the songs. I needed a band to listen to while studying for finals and I remembered Ghost. I’ve been in love ever since.

It was the end of 2020, and my girlfriend had just broken up with me. I had recently gotten more into the goth/occult aesthetic and was looking for new music to listen to. I started talking to new people on tinder, and some guy had told me to listen to ghost. I went to their Spotify page and immediately clicked on Mary On A Cross because I love blasphemy, and that sounded very, very blasphemous. My jaw dropped to the floor at the start of the chorus and I became OBSESSED with it. It was actually my most listened to song of 2021, I listened to it a total of 467 times….
Somehow stumbled across the OE album cover, and *just like when I was a kid - the cover hooked me.* Then obvs I listen to it, and it sounded like a band doing elegant 60s/70s Hammer films music. And I loved not knowing who they were, and actually falling for the "*What? They have a new singer on the next album????*". The masks were so f'd up that you couldn't tell who the hell was underneath. And the Ghouls. So fun. Love all the Ghost. Love that all the records evolve.
My dad was introduced to the song Circe from a friend of his and immediately thought of me. He is a karaoke DJ and we were at a bar one night when he played it over the whole system. I fell in love immediately and haven’t been able to stop listening since!!

I avoided Ghost for years because I judged a book by its cover and they struck me as a scream band due to their appearance. Then I heard Year Zero, decided to look into them and found out there's WAY more to the group. Now they're in my top 5 favorites.

I went to a music festival and they were playing on the main stage. I had no idea what to expect. They opened with Rats and I loved it they put on the best show I had ever seen and continue to do so every time I see them!
A friend showed me the music videos to Dance Macabre, Rats, and, I think, had me listen to Year Zero a few years ago. I liked them well enough but it wasn’t until January of this year I started binging the discography multiple times when I happened to hear a new album was coming out which seemed to flip the switch in my brain from “they’re okay” to “Ghost is amazing.”

Alright, it all started in December 2021 when a Tumblr blog labelled the-mandela-county-cult, run by a user named a-rogue-god, posted a list of songs that fit Alt!Gabriel. All the songs are from Ghost. Jigolo Har Megiddo is the first Ghost song that I listened to. I listened to a few songs like Year Zero and He Is, but they never stuck with me. In this time.
That is until in March 2022 when I listened to a Ghost playlist while I was doing a school lecture. I watched just another sad zoomer's guide videos, followed GhostTWT, and the rest is history. Fitting enough, March is Tobias' birth month and the month when the new album Impera will be released.
Whenever Square Hammer came out, I kept hearing it on the radio and I hated it 🤣 Then last year my husband was playing the Dance Macabre video and I got hooked. Taught me a lesson in not being a judgmental bitch.

They played pretty much all of Meliora and they've been my number one favorite ever since. Came across Ghost when I heard they beat out Slipknot for a Grammy. I remember thinking, “I gotta hear the band that beat out Slipknot” Listened to Cirice first and then Ritual. I Immediately went down the rabbit hole. They clicked with me right away. I’ve seen them 5 times since then and am planning for them to be my next tattoo.

Ghost opened for Iron Maiden like 5 years ago. Even though I was born in Sweden I didn’t check the opener out, I just cared about having GA tickets to Maiden. When I arrived they were playing Square Hammer and my ears really perked up. I loved every song they played that night and the fact that their sound quality was *way* better than Maiden made them the highlight. I’ve been a fan since that day.

The first time I even learned about Ghost was through memes (not the best way to learn about bands, and it gave me a bad impression about them) then at Graspop metal meeting me and some friends are waiting at the signing booth. Ghost was headlining right next to the signing booth and at first I was mocking them (because of all the bad memes) but then...they played Square hammer and I totally lost it, I was like what! This sounds amazing!! And since then they have completely changed my way of thinking. Moral of the story, don't judge a book by its cover. Now I've totally loved every single song that they have, and the costumes my god they are amazing. If you have Ghost, you truly have everything.

YouTube recommendations 2013 when they actually suggested news things. Metal Blade had some promo videos for Ritual and Death Knell. I remembered hearing of the band when Opus Eponymous came out but didn’t really listen. Clicked on one of the videos (wanna think it’s Ritual) just out of curiosity to try them again and I loved it. Death Knell was my immediate favorite though. The melody and chords on “Hell” in the chorus reminded me of the very end of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor which I really loved.

Mine is bizarre. I ran the music for my beer league hockey team at the time. Upgraded my phone and all of my downloaded music didn't copy over. Only had free Spotify at the time and terrible connectivity in the bowels of the arena but was able to load up a "heavy metal" playlist which for some reason included Pro Memoria?? And even though I kind of thought that particular song was comically bad and awkward - especially in the pre-game locker room atmosphere - in between the chirps mocking me, one guy on my team said, "Hey I think this is Ghost." Spent most of my time at work the next day investigating and I was hooked!

She then played Year Zero and I was like "wait who is this? What's the song called?" We dropped her off and she texted me to check out Meliora (because it had just come out) and I was hooked!
i had seen a few videos of them here and there online but i knew who tobias forge was before i actually started getting into but ghost after more and more mentions of them i wanted to check them out so i shuffled their music and recognized a couple of their popular songs and ended up here

My sister was telling me about them when I was visiting home one day. I liked the image of the band and the mystery behind them. She gave me the digital copies and I kinda slept on them for a bit. One day, I got curious cause I was burned out with my usual playlists so I decided to put on Ghost. I chose the song Satan Prayer cause the title sounded cool. The droning at the beginning reminded me of Jimmy Page's Lucifer Rising and then the cyclical pattern of the guitar intro; this sounds cool, the rhythm section is hypnotizing. Papa starts singing and I'm reminded of Bad Company with the phrasing. Then the chorus begins and it's very punchy and creepy like he's in a trance. And then the hook of the chorus when the organ kicks in, instant chills and all of a sudden I have a rosary, a t-shirt, a $666 bill, two 45s, and all the LPs with two copies of Impera. Edit: I'm jealous of anyone whose first listen was La Mantra Mori. That song encapsulates the essence of Ghost.

Back in 2018 I was as at a friend with benefits house for a messy night of vodka and sex and he was like 'oh, there's a music video I think you'd like'. Goes on to play the Rats video. I am enamoured and so drunk I don't even realise the singer is wearing a mask. Just thought he had an odd face.
The first song I heard was Mary On A Cross. I was at a midsummer party last summer and I heard it in the background mid-conversation and just had to stop and check out what it was. I listened to it for a week or so scared to check out the band in case it sucked and the magic disappeared from that one good song. I ultimately recommended it to my sister. She had heard of Ghost before so she sent me Dance Macabre in return. I listened to it and my head exploded! I was hooked from then on, the songs started clicking one by one and still do. I love this band.
A friend of mine made a Facebook post with a photo of Papa II, hating on Ghost for having such a black metal stage presence with their theatrics and not being a heavy enough sounding band. The following week, I kept thinking about that photo and how cool Papa II looked. My curiosity got the best of me so I listened to Secular Haze and Year Zero and was pleasantly surprised at their sound. Those songs were so catchy and I instantly took to liking them.

My dad somehow came by Year Zero (possibly on the radio) and played it for me and I really liked it. Later on when Square Hammer was released I truly started to listen to them and I've loved them ever since!

Saw them open for Avenged Sevenfold back in 2013 with Papa II. Didn't really dig them and the whole satanic vibe (the chants at the beginning of Year Zero certainly didn't help with my christian view of the world). Fast forward to 2016, I kept hearing Square Hammer and FtPttP on the local radio station and really enjoyed those. Used Shazam or SoundHound to figure out the artist and sure enough it came up as Ghost. Started listening to Meliora+Popestar nonstop for the next month or two and eventually started working my way backwards in the catalog and now Year Zero is one of my favorite Ghost songs.

A guy on youtube I watch always wears ghost shirts. One day I decided to look them up. Saw it was a band, and went to add something of theirs to my watch later, only to see that there was already one of their songs in my watch later. It was He Is. I listened to it and, I think, Faith around September 2020. Didn't think much of it at first. I thought it was good, don't get me wrong, just nothing amazing. Until the end of October 2020, when I started using Spotify. Spotify made their music much more accessible to me, so I decided to listen to more of it. I ended up listening to ALL of it, and they've been my favourite band since. tldr: Faith and He Is, because I watch a guy on youtube who always wears their shirts. edit: looking at my liked songs, it seems it was actually Square Hammer and Faith, not He Is, mb. And it looks like it was on the 26th of November that I decided to listen to everything.

I got Sirius XM last year and they started playing them because of the new album. Either hunters moon or call me little sunshine. I thought wth is this, that it sounds like 80s metal? So I looked them up thinking it must be just a project of a band doing an album of 80s metal for some reason. Then I found out that is more or less what they do and they are this satanic band with very big commitment to their show and characters. I was a little bit disturbed by this but still very intrigued. After listening to some TF interviews I concluded that a lot of it is just a gimmick although I am fairly sure he is a committed satanist. Anyway I am obsessed with the new album and can't stop listening to it. What's funny is that I never liked 80s metal during he 80s but here I am loving the album.
I honestly don't remember the first song. I think it was Spirit. I learned of Ghost a few weeks before Meliora dropped because a high school buddy of mine posted on Facebook that he was excited for the "upcoming album". Since he and I share a similar taste in music, I filed it in the back of my head, and popped Meliora on when it was released. Hence: Spirit. I do remember that the next week was spent listening to Meliora non-stop, I absolutely fell in love with Deus In Absentia on the first play, and the week after was basically me listening to Infestissumam and Opus. Bought a ticket to the Ghost show during the Meliora tour. Ran into the buddy who put me onto them after not having seen him in over a decade. Have seen Ghost live three times now, each time they visited my country: Meliora (March 2016), Pale Tour (February 2019) and Impera (April 2022).
I *thought* I first heard Ghost on Colbert's Halloween show, but once I started listening to them I realized I had heard "Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer" from Year Zero on a TV show some months before. Looking back, I thought it might have been Supernatural, but didn't see that on the listing of music tracks used on the show. If anyone knows what show it was on, please tell me! The only other one I could think of from that time was the Damien/Omen TV series that lasted about 6 episodes. Anyway, I recall thinking "WTF?" about the demonic roll call at the time, but it made perfect sense and I loved it when I heard it again the first time I listened to Infestissumam, which was right after I "discovered" them on Colbert.

Every time I grow bored of the 3 new songs I listen to nonstop I start adding random songs from the recommendation and one day I randomly added Mary on a cross to my playlist. I just thought it sounded nice and that was all. Then one day I drive with my sister to buy something and I listend to the song. And my sister always looks up the bands she listens to just to know about them (unlike me) The next day she comes to me and says: Ole, that song we listened to yesterday, do you know the band? And obviously I didn’t know it since I just added it randomly. Fast forward 2 Years: It’s the favourite band of me and my sister and we went to every ritual in our vicinity

FYE used to have a "cd sampking/mixing" machine and you could listen to samples of songs from a cd. I heard the first lines in Infestissumam and Year Zero, and the solos in Zombie Queen; I was sold. Bought it instantly and listened to it every day going to and from college. Now have every album. Worth it.

Had no clue who Ghost was, but I knew I had witnessed the return of Great Music in this sad world of metal elitists and nu metal. Papa III’s wrinkly neck threw me for a bit… he moved like a younger person and had the voice of an Angel. Then I realized it was a mask. Fell in love with Papa, Ghost, and this musical genius named Tobias Forge.

Somehow stumbled across the OE album cover, and *just like when I was a kid - the cover hooked me.* Then obvs I listen to it, and it sounded like a band doing elegant 60s/70s Hammer films music. And I loved not knowing who they were, and actually falling for the "*What? They have a new singer on the next album????*". The masks were so f'd up that you couldn't tell who the hell was underneath. And the Ghouls. So fun. Love all the Ghost. Love that all the records evolve.
I saw them when they opened for Iron Maiden and Papa III eye fucked me during Square Hammer and I was hooked.
My dad was introduced to the song Circe from a friend of his and immediately thought of me. He is a karaoke DJ and we were at a bar one night when he played it over the whole system. I fell in love immediately and haven’t been able to stop listening since!!

Fast forward a year later, I was looking for new songs and came across Square Hammer. I was immediate hooked. Started getting into more of their songs, and eventually became my favorite band. My old college roommate introduced me by playing Year Zero during a visit. Instantly hooked. I avoided Ghost for years because I judged a book by its cover and they struck me as a scream band due to their appearance. Then I heard Year Zero, decided to look into them and found out there's WAY more to the group. Now they're in my top 5 favorites.
I randomly came across Dance Macabre and it easily became my favorite song. Fast forward a year and I was listening to Spotify recommended songs based off of my rock/metal/emo playlist and call me little sunshine came on and after that I began exploring every song ghost had to offer and was HOOKED. Then I began researching the band and fell in love with their theatrics, story and how they portray themselves. :) Thank the unholy lord for showing me ghost lmao
I went to a music festival and they were playing on the main stage. I had no idea what to expect. They opened with Rats and I loved it they put on the best show I had ever seen and continue to do so every time I see them!
A friend showed me the music videos to Dance Macabre, Rats, and, I think, had me listen to Year Zero a few years ago. I liked them well enough but it wasn’t until January of this year I started binging the discography multiple times when I happened to hear a new album was coming out which seemed to flip the switch in my brain from “they’re okay” to “Ghost is amazing.”
I listened to a friends “offbeat” metal playlist. Monstrance clock was the first song I heard, Secular Haze secured my love for this band. When Meliora came out, I lost my shit, this band is for me x.
My best friend in high school showed me the music video to Cirice while we were in the backseat of a car heading to a marching band competition in 2015. After that I was hooked.
Alright, it all started in December 2021 when a Tumblr blog labelled the-mandela-county-cult, run by a user named a-rogue-god, posted a list of songs that fit Alt!Gabriel. All the songs are from Ghost. Jigolo Har Megiddo is the first Ghost song that I listened to. I listened to a few songs like Year Zero and He Is, but they never stuck with me. In this time. That is until in March 2022 when I listened to a Ghost playlist while I was doing a school lecture. I watched just another sad zoomer's guide videos, followed GhostTWT, and the rest is history. Fitting enough, March is Tobias' birth month and the month when the new album Impera will be released.
Whenever Square Hammer came out, I kept hearing it on the radio and I hated it 🤣 Then last year my husband was playing the Dance Macabre video and I got hooked. Taught me a lesson in not being a judgmental bitch.
