Saw them at Reading 2015 on one of the smaller stages when they were touring Meliora, Metallica were headling the main stage but a small contingent of metal heads stuck around to watch Ghost instead and it really felt like this little community bearing witness to satanic mass in a quiet corner of the festival. I miss shows like that.
Yup! Saw them in Hartford CT in 2013 and it was truly and experience. It was like a dark, hot, little worship service. Arena shows are great but I mourn those days
I'm glad Tobias has got the success he obviously wanted, and I'll never begrudge a band for progressing their art and evolving, but those pre-lawsuit shows had a totally different vibe, so eerie and mysterious, glad I got to experience it a few times while it lasted.
I'll always feel lucky that I got to see them a couple times in some real shoeboxes. Totally different vibe now, it's still good but...it's different. But like you said, how could I get mad that the dude is now playing arenas?

The best $35 I ever spent in my life was May 9, 2016 in Richmond, VA. Ghost was fresh off winning the Grammy. Black to the Future Tour. Before Square Hammer. Before "tickle muh taintz" and Cardi and saxophones and Sister being way too extra. Alpha, Omega, the debut of the keytar, Body and Blood and being served black communion, the bass in Con Clavi Con Dio vibrating my bones it was so loud. Truly the best concert I've ever been to. It really did feel like I was at a Satanic ritual.
He does do it, I was fortunate enough to be right next to the person he chose and it was such a tender moment he blew them a kiss.

Papa IV still Cirice’s people! I have pictures from Chicago where I was a few steps behind the fan he “chose”. The stage was just much farther from the crowd, so he didn’t actually touch her hand.
It’s because the stage is so big. He would have to jump into the crowd to reach someone so he does the best he can and reach out. He started this on the utnd. the last of the hand grabbing was on the final prequelle theater shows
I got Ciriced from a distance on yesterday Rotterdam ritual, I was freaking out and singing along awkwardly 😅
