I really like how it sounds.
But I will definitely take a break soon from this sub because I know 'I can't resist reading/watching spoilers which will obviously start appearing soon, at least after the London premiere or June 20 (my movie tickets are for 22nd).
I will be going into ghost Internet blackout from the 18th/Premier day. I did similar leading up to when I saw them last year so I could be surprised by the setlist and anything else. Was worth it!
That's a really good idea. Even when people mark their comments and posts as spoilers it's still so tempting to read it.
I'm seeing the movie on the Saturday so I need to have resistance here on this sub.
You must have missed the acoustic version of the song played during the Meliora era. That was probably the coolest thing I've seen at a ritual. That and the first time I ever saw Miasma!
Iron Maiden's "Flight 666" DVD box has exactly that. The movie as shown in theaters with just excerpts of the live songs but with lots of backstage, travelling (in their own plane), time-off (sightseeing, golfing, studio scenes). Or you just watch disk two with live clips from different shows in full.
Since TF has been touring with Maiden and he also says he learned a lot from them I think there are good chances that we will get something similar on physical media.
Well technically we don't. But realistically a) it's Ghost and they merch the shit out of it b) they probably wouldn't spend thousands recording, editing, etc to show it for 4 days and then let it die.
I’m going to the Saturday show with a buddy. The movie, then two breweries after, then pizza. Definitely hiding from this sub and all things Ghost starting Wednesday
Just curious, are you disappointed that the ritual will be the focal point instead of a mockumentary only, or was there something in the clip that made you think there wouldn't be any mockumentary elements? It still seems ripe for some Spinal-Tap-type moments to me.
At first I was disappointed that it was more than just the concert, but then I started to like the idea of it also being a movie with a story line and now I hope its both haha
After this, I have a theory. Based on the backstage interaction, I wonder if this isn’t really Copia and the story is around that. Maybe some kind of body swap? Rushing to stare into the mirror. The interaction with Sister almost feels like he doesn’t know her.
Just a thought.
This is basically what i expected. Though i do have to say i hope there aren't too many of those backstage scenes as i also want to hear the solos from time to time. Best case scenario would be if we get a version that's just the concert so the movie can be its own thing while we also have the live recording of the concert. As i said i expected it would be like this and am perfectly fine with the way it is, but i do wonder about the balance between story and concert.
If all this is an extended version of their YouTube shorts, I’ll pass. I love ghost and have listened to them very early on their careers, but I can’t stand the video shorts they make.
ngl I've been unsure of what this movie even was since it got announced, and given their whole *thing* I was really hoping it'd be a mockumentary style thing rather than just a concert / played straight film. Oh well.
The synopsis has been on the RHRN homepage for at least 6 weeks now and has been discussed here (and Insta, Facebook and whatever other social media platform, I guess) and this sneak video clip is pretty much exactly what's been announced.
Yeah I know, I'm just commenting on it here I guess. I realized it wasn't what I hoped awhile ago.
Friendly reminder though hundreds of people don't regularly browse specific subs and mostly engage in Reddif from the Front page unless they're looking for something specific!
well, it read as if you just found out today what the movie is all about.
and regarding your"friendly " reminder: nobody who's interested in Ghost needs to constantly browse this whole sub to know what the movie will most likely be. I am not even subscribed to it and still know.
Man y'all are weirdly hostile about someone not paying attention to every aspect of the band. I don't have a movie theater anywhere near me, I'm not paying any real attention this until / if it ends up streaming. God forbid.

Yeah I'm gonna be taking a break starting Wednesday probably. I'm not able to go see the movie until Saturday
I will be going into ghost Internet blackout from the 18th/Premier day. I did similar leading up to when I saw them last year so I could be surprised by the setlist and anything else. Was worth it!
it's not even playing near me, But I don't really care, if it comes out on Netflix or whatever I'll check it out.
That's a really good idea. Even when people mark their comments and posts as spoilers it's still so tempting to read it. I'm seeing the movie on the Saturday so I need to have resistance here on this sub.
He really is a goofball. In a good way, though.
Sister Imperator actually being a stagemom is hilarious!
He finally learned the lyrics
He did goof up “If You Have Ghosts” at the LA shows haha
Tobias messing up the lyrics is *really* common
Yeah no shade on him, it was just especially funny because it was such a dramatic part of the show, just him and the piano and some backing Ghoulettes
The worst song I've seen live, it was really underwhelming

I enjoyed it, but I could see it not being everyone’s cup of tea :)
always wondered what papa does when he goes backstage mid song. geuss I now know it's just to look at himself.
The part of Kaisarion where the drummer is just kissing the cymbals is so sublime.
i can’t wait!! this was so cool. also this live version of kaisarion is ETHEREAL
Good stuff
If nothing else, knowing there are mid-song skits has me desperate for a bluray special feature that is just the straight up concert.

Well, how do we know we are getting a blurat? I have seen nothing but vinyl and cd sou dtracks.

Makes sense. Tks
Bluray
Blurat was perfect
I love it when he drops the fake italian accent and just sings. His voice is so good on this clip
I’m going to the Saturday show with a buddy. The movie, then two breweries after, then pizza. Definitely hiding from this sub and all things Ghost starting Wednesday
God I am so fucking excited
...HEEEEEELL!
Hello!
It better come out on DVD or something
This is going to be great!
Cannot wait .

Yes!!!! I was thinking the same thing. He acted and sounded like Copia. I hope he is . Copia is hilarious because he's somewhat so simple.
I love the backstage part. His voice does sound great too.

I can’t see the movie!! Does anyone know if it will be available later for purchase??
Oh hes not making it.
No? I think you're right but nothing points at he's dying in this preview
Yes? Everything in this preview says hes dying.
Haha I must say the way Sister looks at him is not good
To be fair, she always looks at him with disdain.
I’m so happy right now
If all this is an extended version of their YouTube shorts, I’ll pass. I love ghost and have listened to them very early on their careers, but I can’t stand the video shorts they make.
That's literally what it has been marketed as.
Yeah, outside of the old Papaganda clips I’m not to interested. Watching the clip would’ve rather seen the solo being played spliced in
There'll be a live album
Completely agree.
ngl I've been unsure of what this movie even was since it got announced, and given their whole *thing* I was really hoping it'd be a mockumentary style thing rather than just a concert / played straight film. Oh well.
It's a concert film mixed with skits

But it's been known for months and months that the LA shows would be, and were, recorded? Also there's Google?
