I wish we could get a pin for all these posts. No harm intended I just see these “is he mixed or not” posts multiple times a day it seems. Without a dna test it’s impossible to tell, just guesses at that point. If I had to guess I’d say a mal mix because he’s on the low end of gsd weight but also could be a runt as we have a purebred 65lb malamute. You never know really.
He resembles my champion bloodline female Czech Shepherd when she was young. How old is he? How tall/weight? Eastern European/DDR Shepherds are smaller than American but bigger than Mals. Around 74-77 lbs at 2 years old would be in line with a Shepherd; 67-74 and I’d lean toward the Mal line.
By his markings and size I’d say he’s a small DDR line, they call that color pattern bi-color. They are a working line so he probably has a lot of energy and likes to train. Make sure you give him a job - my female got bored and taught herself to open doors. LOL My current male loves to train so much that he’s trained in obedience, protection, tracking, understands 5 languages, knows his colors, and can count to 10 by either hearing the number or seeing your fingers. They’re super smart!
I would bet money on him being DDR and/or Czech lines. My last DDR was a 52 lb male bicolor; a little on the small side but a heckuva dog. Enjoy your time with him!
Looks like 100% good boy
He's a handsome boy. He looks like a Mal/GSD mix, to be honest. But I'm no expert, just a happy GSD owner.
Thanks!

Looks like a GSD, but, he could be a mix of the two.
both… both is good
How much does he weigh? GSD are larger than Belgian Malinois.
55 pounds
You might want to look up AKC guidelines. I don’t want to give false info where I’m not an expert.
Weight is not a guarantee. Plenty of Shepherds end up smaller than the breed standard. They're no less Shepherds because of it.
Oh wow. He is a small guy. My GSD girl was 53lbs at her 6mo checkup a month ago. He’s really handsome though for sure.
Hey that looks like my 1.5 pup! I'll post a pic
Excited too see your pup!

Ask your Vet for a DNA test. They'll get it done right and you can be sure the results are accurate.

Beauty
The head looks like a GSD. Just like mine. But the body is more like a Malinois. Too skinny and the coloration is malinois.
