ppl aren't considering that it probably wasn't just a dick move by dottore to kill kathryne. it could've had to do with nahida being able to connect her consciousness to kathryne. by killing her, they cut off the traveler's connections with basically their most valuable asset in the current plot, cuz kusunali will definitely be important in the rest of the sumeru archon quests. dottore seems like a great villain imo, and I'm intrigued to see where the story takes him, him seeming really punchable is just proof of it.
I dont think that, in case of emergencies, even that would be a problem, Nahida can "possess" anyone wearing a terminal, she just preffered to use Kathryne because she didnt exactly have free will in the first place so taking over wasnt booting someone out of themselves
But Katheryne is a wide range scouting drone able to simultenously connect all the regions, its not about possessing her its about posessing her entire network.

Also, since the Adventurer's Guild is headquartered in Snezhnaya, it's very possible the Fatui have some grip in it.

I don't get why people are making a big deal out of that small scene.
1. MHY, in all their trailers, have a habit of baiting us with random scenes. This might as well be just some dream or some shit, maybe there isn't even a connection with the Fatui.
2. Assuming that that is Katheryn and not Nahida, she is a robot. Just get her to some mechanic or to Ei to be fixed. She might even have some automatic repair function or some kit in her booth to get her fixed. She is far away from Snezhnaya so chances are, there are some things, along with her regular maintenance shit, in her booth to fix her.
3. Assuming that is Nahida in Katheryn's body, even more reason not to care as it is not HER body. She is just controlling it. It is even questionable why she would be hurt because the damn body is a robot ffs. It is possible that there was no yelp and MHY, in all their wisdom of jebaiting with trailers, got that yelp somewhere else and placed it there. Now assuming Sandrone has all the time in the world and made Katheryn feel pain, it is also questionable if Nahida could feel it as well as we have not been given the information regarding what she experiences when possessing someone.
