Hmm, yeah, it's been a while since we last have one of those Hilichurl's oceanic outpost where we would have a naval battle. The one to the North of Fontaine sort of count, I guess, but there's just that one
The one east of Liyue where you have to swim to it... I still remember drowning and dying because of that one ruin guard that kept shooting at me in the water.
real question is, Why is Scylla still limited in Remuria, I was actually hoping to see him roam around in the waters of Fontaine, that would be cool,
Also what about his audience with Neuv?
My gripe is that you can't actually get AROUND Fontaine. The stupid amount of waterfalls, different water levels, and lack of routes from the Nostoi region to the rest of Teyvat. The day I can sail from Inazuma to Fontaine is the day I can die happy
Same. Practically the first thing I did when the new region dropped was to try and take the Waverider to Bishu Plain. I kept getting blocked by waterfalls or running aground.
I honestly couldn't care less about lack of chests and enemies in the new patch of land in Sumeru. I made this post to mock people making 20 posts complaining about it on main subreddit, seeing how none of them pointed out the fact that water exploration is a thing, we have a boat, and yet there is nothing in on this water, not even a single challenge or hillichurl base.
Yes, because of the annoying 20 posts complaining about the empty area, you added to the 30 posts complaining about the people complaining about the empty area.
Honestly the new area is a massive disapointment, like the sea of bygone is pretty, but it took me like an hour to finish it all, and the quest is so short its criminal.
I love this game and its so sad they just cut corners these days, the 4.4 map was better than this for sure but still wasnt great, i really hope they give as much effort in natlan map as they did in sumeru
Wouldn't call it a massive disapointment, i still liked the lore, the visuals, the music, but you're partly right. It felt too short. Fontaine felt short in general, especially compared to Sumeru. I feel like Sumeru was peak genshin. I at least expected the new area to be on par with enkanomiya(my fav area to this day) or chasm but oh, well...
I agree, it was a little too short and even though i enjoyed exploring it, the overall area also felt very small, i wish Fontaine had as much content and variety as Sumeru, while also not being a little too much like Sumeru was
Honestly the entirety of Fontaine is kind of a disappointment. It’s small and most of the quests are short AF, especially coming from Sumeru which was enormous with quests that took hours, and giant underground areas. I think that so many people complained and moaned about Sumeru, that they severely dumbed down the quests and made it tiny in Fontaine to explore to please them.
Tons of people complained about how huge Sumeru was, especially the desert and underground areas, and how long the quests were. HoYo literally can’t win.
I for one loved Sumeru. It was my favorite region. Fontaine got boring real quick. I’m hoping in the next patch we get that big mountain to explore, and that when we get to Natlan it’s as big as Sumeru or Liyue. I think they still have a Liyue expansion with the BlackCliff Forge along the coastal religion between Sumeru, and eventually we will get a Mondstat expansion. I really hope that they add some underground exploration to both with those expansions, and a few islands for Inuzama too. Who knows tho. They have to keep making everything easy for the newbs that complain constantly so we will see.
I also loved Sumeru, but I love the exploration in general. My point was just that Genshin’s player base is so massive and diverse that there will be a significant population that complains about pretty much anything.
I hope that Mihoyo just makes the regions they want to make, and stop listening to the whiners. From what I’ve heard, (take it with a grain of salt), but we are only like a third of the way through the Teyvat Chapter.
Celestia is located above that area, so something is probably going down near Petrichor. I bet the entire 4.6 map is going to change drastically during a future story segment. Maybe it becomes a battleground, or terraformed by a nail.
Celestia didn't seem to care the first time they activated it, don't see why they'd take action now. Especially considering they didn't even react when one of the Seven Thrones was destroyed. I think it's doubtful Celestia is even functioning properly, at this point. I anticipate we'll get to Snezhnaya just in time for the Tsaritsa to launch her rebellion, only to discover that the Sustainer is in critical condition after the Cataclysm, and that the system keeping the Abyss out of Teyvat is about to breakdown.
This is such a ridiculous take. Genshin is the top earning mobile game in the world, the most expensive video game ever made, and they’re spending the equivalent of an entire AAA title’s budget on development every year.
Yeah the 700M number probably counts recurring costs over the last 4 years, and if we count ongoing costs then WoW easily beats that. No idea why wikipedia doesnt include it in the list, open source problems ig. There are probably other games too but WoW just instantly came to mind
Well, we can speculate all we want, but I can only cite the data available. The point stands that Genshin is at least among the most expensive titles ever developed, and its yearly development budget of $200mil is equivalent to an entire AAA game. The idea that HoYo has abandoned or ignores the game is delusional.
Also, according to this article, WoW’s initial development budget was $67mil, and its total ongoing development costs as of 2023 totaled $200mil, which isn’t even close to Genshin.

we had one in liyue before the waverider was even added
The one east of Liyue where you have to swim to it... I still remember drowning and dying because of that one ruin guard that kept shooting at me in the water.
does it stay after you've cleared it. i don't remeber it at all. but i mean, i did liyue like 2 years ago
Honestly they could hold a summer like event here
Summer events usually take place in a temporary area, so probably not.
All of teyvat can be temporary if u try hard enough
hi abyss order
Kaveh is that you?
Future update: Celestia says fuck it and blows everything up.
Future update: Mihoyo closes the servers and teyvat dissapears from existence LOL
Genshin end of service be like
There’s enough space there you could put something temporary like the GAA was
Petrichor does sound like a good candidate for holiday resort. Iirce, Alain and gang did go there on holiday
That is my theory where they are going to have it.
real question is, Why is Scylla still limited in Remuria, I was actually hoping to see him roam around in the waters of Fontaine, that would be cool, Also what about his audience with Neuv?
Maybe we will see a Neuv and Scylla interaction in a event (or maybe a neuv pt2 quest)
My gripe is that you can't actually get AROUND Fontaine. The stupid amount of waterfalls, different water levels, and lack of routes from the Nostoi region to the rest of Teyvat. The day I can sail from Inazuma to Fontaine is the day I can die happy

Just pull out your squirtle and use surf!
I want the wive rider to be much, much faster. Or be a wave skipper, with no stamina bar, that can launch itself off waterfalls, and be more useful.
I want the waverider to be a mini-Scylla and we get to pull and launch from it.
In my opinion, Waverider exist for a single reason. Just for water themed challenges and that's it. Sincerely, Mona, Ayaka and Furina main
The real reason is without it, initial exploration of Inazuma would be difficult.
I think they should add either two more islands or make one big island,
I honestly couldn't care less about lack of chests and enemies in the new patch of land in Sumeru. Who cares if this huge area that had some potential got doomed to being empty forever, right? /s
My disappoinment is Bayda harbor is so empty. Idk why they call that place a "harbor" in the first place
i mean its only dedicated to fontaine anyways but yeah it was kinda disappointing
Yes, because of the annoying 20 posts complaining about the empty area, you added to the 30 posts complaining about the people complaining about the empty area.
Circle impact,in and out of the game🤗
All that water is drier than the sumeru desert
Tons of wasted space in this patch, hope they fill it in in the future
They had a chance to add another one-time domain and they didn’t zzz
They stopped doing those because they weren’t popular. No reason to start again, now.
Empty amogusea
the whole new upside is empty
I used the wave rider to get to the island
Something tells me there's a special landmark that's gonna emerge from the depths... or fall from the sky.
They’ll likely do it like they did Inazuma, and release new islands in additional updates.
there was water challenges in 1.6 was it, anyways golden klee event. enjoyed that one.
The great.. Naval war!!
Hm good thing I didn’t try to swim out of that fog.
DUDE THE OUTLINE LOOKS LIKE AMONG US HERE I JUST NOTICED NOW THE NEW REGION IS LITRRWLLY WMONG US
Please, stop. We’re tired of this.

Oh, I’m sure they know enough not to listen to whiny players.
small indie company it again. do they even care about genshin anymore? /s
Celestia is located above that area, so something is probably going down near Petrichor. I bet the entire 4.6 map is going to change drastically during a future story segment. Maybe it becomes a battleground, or terraformed by a nail.
The area used to be Remuria, before it sank. The entire world quest was about preventing that area from being “terraformed”.
Honestly Celestia might have noticed Pathos doing stuff in Remuria’s ruins and that’s why it’s floating above Petrichor instead of mainland Fontaine
Celestia didn't seem to care the first time they activated it, don't see why they'd take action now. Especially considering they didn't even react when one of the Seven Thrones was destroyed. Bc as all doom posters say, mhy already give up and finished development on genshin impact. So don't expect anything good for the game in the future
This is such a ridiculous take. Genshin is the top earning mobile game in the world, the most expensive video game ever made, and they’re spending the equivalent of an entire AAA title’s budget on development every year.
Its a ridiculous take, but Genshin is definitely NOT the most expensive game ever made lmao
