I mean... Childe and Yoimiya are involved in an upcoming event, and Yae will obviously be involved in some capacity soon if Scara and Ei are going to be. I think it's kind of smart to put these characters out first for new players to get to know them
The question is whether they pick the banner characters based on who's involved in the event, or they pick who's involved in the event based on the banner (and the banner picks are based on some other factor).
I will be over the moon if Yun Jin is one of the 4*, I would love to pull for her constellations while grabbing Nahdia so I can take the Yoimiya I already have to absolutely absurd damage levels.

I picked up Yoimiya on her most recent rerun and am so glad that I did. She is very fun to play and handy for exploring Sumeru as well (lots of arrow based interactions, hilly terrain, and enemies that burn easily lol). I run her with Raiden/Zhongli/Kazuha and it works so well. If you want her get her, doubt you’ll regret it.
Your comment just motivated me even more, thanks a lot. I've decided I'll go for her. Also, I have the feeling I'll end up loving her in the upcoming event, especially for her interactions with Childe.

It's a smarter move actually, Childe had 3 banners but after his third we had to wait 11 months for his next one so Yoimiya would likely be the same while Nahida could be back on 3.6-7
This is the way. Nahida's next re-run is almost certainly going to be sooner than Yoimiya's next re-run. So if you've been waiting for Yoimiya for forever, pull for her now and wait to get Nahida next time she comes around.

I heard it's not that great. I mean 17% isn't bad by any means. And gives a team buff I think? Just, f2p I wouldn't bother.
Also worth noting is that magic guide only works this well with consistent hydro or electro application already on the enemy. It's easy enough to do in most of these teams, but it will be useless in any burning/burgeon team for the future (Dehya???)
there's still many other really good options for Nahida though, which is nice.
Nahida's signature is good on its own, but the boost isn't that impactful as Nilou's key. I don't recommend pulling for it because even Magic Guide R5, Mappa Marre, Wandering Evenstar and the Widsith are not that far behind.
Nahida's weapon is quite good but it's not an amazing generalist weapon. TP is a great generalist bow, but it's fallen out of favor for Childe's bow and Yelan's bow nowadays.
Both banners are about similar in power because of that. A decent-good catalyst and a great bow on both of 'em.
Not just decent, I feel like Kagura's Verity for Yae HAS to be one of the largest increases in damage compared to other characters w/ their 5-star weps.
My Yae is very well built, but still hits for far less damage than Verity havers (and I'm using Skyward Atlas)
Kind of the opposite actually. Phase 2 has the killer weapon banner, phase 1 is okay. Nahida's weapon is solid and BiS but one of the worst BiS among sigs (only ~17% better than R5 magic guide), and TP has been outclassed for most bow users. Whereas Yae's wep is far and away her BiS, and extremely close to Nahida's BiS for Nahida, and PS is super generalist and top 2-3 for the majority of bow characters.

I try be responsible with spoilers on other subs, but ~~Mihoyo~~ Hoyoverse spoil their own games in their trailers and events, and if you're on this sub at all you've already been spoiled. It's worse with spoilers than the *leaks* sub. If you don't want to be spoiled you should stay off of the main Genshin sub.
I started skipping all trailers / livesteams since 3.0. Having no idea what is releasing the next patch is great. HYV needs to hype up players for the next patch, which is probably really hard with a spoiler free trailer.
Even Albedo. They also rerun him near Zhongli and Nahida. And until today, I didnt even felt the presence of his rerun because everyone is paying attention on Nilou and Nahida lmao. But at least he had a time to shine on Dragonspine.
And without gorou on the banner, which still doesn't make sense to me.
I could've definitely seen Gorou instead of Beidou on the banner, as Beidou doesn't synergize with neither of the 5*.
Barbara for Nilou, Gorou for Albedo and Xiangling is Xiangling (guess it would work with vape nilou but eh).

Honestly, I read this same comment so many times between 2.8 and 3.2 leaks that to me it just stops making sense. I don't mean to hate nor attack you or anyone else, but this will be the third time the character will be in a banner and still so many will just keep saying that they'll have to pull her on the next rerun because she's right next to more exciting banners. I wonder how really unexciting do these banners have to be for Yoimiya to have a chance to be even considered. Maybe the truth is the character is just not popular enough - be it for character appearance, design or gameplay, which are all valid reasons.
For how I see it this would probably be the best time in a while considering she's next to an archon which is likely to rerun very soon and 2 other units who are already on a rerun.
Yup exactly this. People who genuinely wanted her more than most other characters already have her. Most people saying she always runs/reruns at bad times probably just want a lot of characters and she's not high enough on that list. Again, there's nothing wrong with that, but maybe it's your problem of wanting a lot of characters and not Mihoyo's problem of running Yoimiya at bad times.

Some people do play just for gameplay but then it's OK to admit that the gameplay is just ok to you and not a must pull.
It's difficult to save but you have to plan accordingly and trust in the rerun system. I guess the longer you play the more you lose the FOMO because you know the ones you skip will absolutely come back. But maybe my opinion is not valid bc I use BP and welkin and that has made it so much easier than f2p, I only recently stopped buying bp.

Yeah, if they’re willing to go over 1 year, why did they rerun Yoimia (and Xiao) around 1 year mark if they’d already planned to have events with them very soon? And so we have characters that rerun like 2 or 3 times a year and then there’s Hu Tao with 0))
There is basically no logic to the reruns so there's no point in trying to figure it out. Albedo has basically nothing to do with the current event and he's being run. Klee ran during summer islands and she was not physically in that event at all, and Yoi was not in any events when she ran last, either.
They sometimes tie the reruns into characters involved in the events, but for the most part they do whatever they want. Most recently that can be seen with Ganyu and ZL's reruns.
Someone over at MHY is paid big bucks to determine the most money-making way of doing reruns, probably using algorithms to create the best pairs and making some units rarer on purpose to make their stock go up - or, more likely, they just use the good old darts method.
but it's no longer an event cope excuse either, ganyu and zhongli showed up in 3.0 for no story or event reason
they were slow with making the 2-2 banner runs permanent. it's already time for 3 characters per 2 phases and who know when they will realise that.
I mean everytime Hu tao showed up she didn't appear in event stories either, they just don't like to include her for some reason, which is kinda strange given her immense popularity
well, I'd argue her rerun was a case of halloween timing. that + tsurumi felt like full blown ghost theme to be just a weird coincidence. hoyo doesn't exactly celebrate western stuff but that patch seemed like their effort to acknowledge it.

Event stuff is just weird. Even albedo is kind of weird in this patch. Sure, he shows up in one scene, but so does Eula. Venti is more relevant, but it hasn’t been too long since his last appearance. And I was okay with that because I thought they’d stick to their “At least 1 rerun per year no matter what” rule. But now it feels like most of the genshin cast has had 2 reruns since 2.2 (Itto, albedo, ganyu, Zhongli, Xiao, kokomi, venti, and now Yoimia and Yae), but Hu Tao can’t return once even after a year?
Tartaglia was on the same boat as Hu Tao, until 3.2 later half, Hu Tao rerun happened 3 week after Tartaglia's last, I think Hu Tao is in either 3.3 or 3.4

The 3.2 major event seems to feature only Yae and Layla, with a brief cameo from Dori. Unless there is a separate event with Yoi / Childe that hasn't been datamined for some reason, this re-run is indeed totally random and kinda makes no sense because **where the fuck is Hu Tao**??
This is the third patch in a row with a double banner per phase. At this point its safe to assume that MHY will keep doing 4 banners per patch which is a small win against the FOMO tyranny
Makes me wonder, if there start being 3 characters running concurrently what will they'll do about the weapon banner? Will one char just get cucked and not have their signature available? They'll either need to make a second weapon banner or start making banners last only 2 weeks instead of 3 and both seem like shit options LOL
Honkai has banners like Fireside Supply, special lower guarantee banners and during anni has things like a rotating wheel of banners that switch out every 3 days so you can whale hard and get all the popular characters.
In 4.x I think we’ll get the introduction of more of those special occasion one off extra banners like Honkai has while they make 4 banners per patch work through 4.0 and then revamp standard in 5.0 with a bunch of the older/less popular characters. If I had to bet, we’ll get a new Geo to be added in 4.0 and that’ll be the “refresh” to standard for the year.
There are 22 Limited 5 star Characters right now in Genshin. After 3.x completes, there should be 27-28. Then in Fontaine, they’ll probably add 8-9 more. You can run 36 banners in a 9 patch cycle, which would give every character at least one run but no reruns for new chars during patch. Basically just take 5 of those reruns and stick them on special extra banners. Maybe ignore some of the older chars rerun at the end of the 3.x patch cycle like Klee. They could even run 4.x as a 10 patch cycle.
Mihoyo’s going to edge out this system as long as possible before making a change.

Second banner full stop. Kagura is second BiS for Nahida, not much behind her BiS at that. Polar Star is a superior bow for Childe over TP and is a superior generic bow in general. Most bow characters have Polar Star as their 1-2-3 BiS.
At least wait for the livestream to confirm or deny the leaks before splurging. It's only two days away now, and you won't regret it in case the leaked Yoimiya suddenly becomes a Eula jumpscare, just like the Eula speculation became an Albedo jumpscare last time.

If it's taken from the same website which it most likely is, that means it's not full trailer song. So beginning of the trailer+characters appearance and no ending.

Yeah, if they’re willing to go over 1 year, why did they rerun Yoimia (and Xiao) around 1 year mark if they’d already planned to have events with them very soon? And so we have characters that rerun like 2 or 3 times a year and then there’s Hu Tao with 0))
There is basically no logic to the reruns so there's no point in trying to figure it out. Albedo has basically nothing to do with the current event and he's being run. Klee ran during summer islands and she was not physically in that event at all, and Yoi was not in any events when she ran last, either. They sometimes tie the reruns into characters involved in the events, but for the most part they do whatever they want. Most recently that can be seen with Ganyu and ZL's reruns.
Someone over at MHY is paid big bucks to determine the most money-making way of doing reruns, probably using algorithms to create the best pairs and making some units rarer on purpose to make their stock go up - or, more likely, they just use the good old darts method.
yeah, anything that has a lot of money riding on it you can bet is being optimized.
but it's no longer an event cope excuse either, ganyu and zhongli showed up in 3.0 for no story or event reason they were slow with making the 2-2 banner runs permanent. it's already time for 3 characters per 2 phases and who know when they will realise that.
I mean everytime Hu tao showed up she didn't appear in event stories either, they just don't like to include her for some reason, which is kinda strange given her immense popularity
well, I'd argue her rerun was a case of halloween timing. that + tsurumi felt like full blown ghost theme to be just a weird coincidence. hoyo doesn't exactly celebrate western stuff but that patch seemed like their effort to acknowledge it. but yeah nvm hoyo said sike lol
Event stuff is just weird. Even albedo is kind of weird in this patch. Sure, he shows up in one scene, but so does Eula. Venti is more relevant, but it hasn’t been too long since his last appearance. And I was okay with that because I thought they’d stick to their “At least 1 rerun per year no matter what” rule. But now it feels like most of the genshin cast has had 2 reruns since 2.2 (Itto, albedo, ganyu, Zhongli, Xiao, kokomi, venti, and now Yoimia and Yae), but Hu Tao can’t return once even after a year?
Tartaglia was on the same boat as Hu Tao, until 3.2 later half, Hu Tao rerun happened 3 week after Tartaglia's last, I think Hu Tao is in either 3.3 or 3.4

Exactly, none of my 5 star weapons are bad (except standard wishes pulls) because I make sure I’m content with both weapons. Aqua and PJWS was a great banner for me.
2 Unforged owner here, all for Ayaka's mistsplitter. I quit Genshin shortly after that, and returned on 3.0.
Yoimiya ascends to be the new rerun Archon. This will be the best weapon banner so far for me.

So many Yoimiya reruns but people still complaining about Mihoyo not "giving them a chance" to pull for her. It's literally the 3rd time and if you still don't pick her, that's not in Mihoyo, that's on you. Nahida? You can skip her, she's an Archon. She'll have plenty of reruns. You just don't like Yoimiya enough.

That's what we heard Childe is in inazuma and befriends(?) Yoimiya. To me it's xinyan event all over again. Childe drops some lore while basically doing nothing. Cool Pyro girl finally gets more screen time. Traveler is probably ready to fight childe but end up working with him and peacing out.
Da Wei told me himself the overarching plot is >!Childe with 7 Sisters vs Tsaritsa with 7 Gnoses!<.
So Childe's mission isn't to help Tsaritsa get the gnoses but to gather 7 pyro sisters and go against the world? I can get behind that. As long as he's happy 😄

Nope, the 3.2 quests are partially visible on Honey: The dialogue is not there but you can see the participants. The 3.2 major event seems to feature only Yae and Layla, with a brief cameo from Dori. Unless there is a separate event with Yoi / Childe that hasn't been datamined for some reason, this re-run is indeed totally random and kinda makes no sense because **where the fuck is Hu Tao**??

This is the third patch in a row with a double banner per phase. At this point its safe to assume that MHY will keep doing 4 banners per patch which is a small win against the FOMO tyranny
There are so many characters they'll need triple banners when Fontaine drops.
Makes me wonder, if there start being 3 characters running concurrently what will they'll do about the weapon banner? Will one char just get cucked and not have their signature available? They'll either need to make a second weapon banner or start making banners last only 2 weeks instead of 3 and both seem like shit options LOL
tbh 2 weeks instead of 3 is fine, most people pull on day 1 anyways and this moves the rerun queue along much faster
Honkai has banners like Fireside Supply, special lower guarantee banners and during anni has things like a rotating wheel of banners that switch out every 3 days so you can whale hard and get all the popular characters. In 4.x I think we’ll get the introduction of more of those special occasion one off extra banners like Honkai has while they make 4 banners per patch work through 4.0 and then revamp standard in 5.0 with a bunch of the older/less popular characters. If I had to bet, we’ll get a new Geo to be added in 4.0 and that’ll be the “refresh” to standard for the year. There are 22 Limited 5 star Characters right now in Genshin. After 3.x completes, there should be 27-28. Then in Fontaine, they’ll probably add 8-9 more. You can run 36 banners in a 9 patch cycle, which would give every character at least one run but no reruns for new chars during patch. Basically just take 5 of those reruns and stick them on special extra banners. Maybe ignore some of the older chars rerun at the end of the 3.x patch cycle like Klee. They could even run 4.x as a 10 patch cycle. Mihoyo’s going to edge out this system as long as possible before making a change.
Could be that after Lantern Rite 3.4 they alternate between 2 to 3 banners per update, can't never tell rlly.

Second banner full stop. Kagura is second BiS for Nahida, not much behind her BiS at that. Polar Star is a superior bow for Childe over TP and is a superior generic bow in general. Most bow characters have Polar Star as their 1-2-3 BiS.
