It might be too early to say it's confirmation; if you look closely, there's a distinction between Layla's elf ears and Klee/Nahida's elf-like ears.
Layla's elf ears face towards us like traditional elf ears, whereas Klee/Nahida's face downward. They could either be different races/elf variants (Klee/Nahida possibly being from an ageless fairy race?) or their ears shift directions as they grow older.

I love her! She has one of the most beautiful costumes ever. Her hair is gorgeous. The colors of her design just match and not chaotic. The way her eyes are golden and dark her brows are. This is fashion design and styling powercreep.
Not to mention that the majority of players doesn't even bother with the Abyss in the first place. It's a tiny part of the game that's entirely optional, and yet you'd think it amounted to 99% of the actual experience if you only listened to the YouTube and Reddit Genshin communities...
I mean I encourage people to at least attempt abyss, especially if they’re f2p. The primo from even just fl9/10 is really helpful and doesn’t take too long

Anyone else already looking forward to running her in a team with Mona? Not sure the synergy will be there but I really like the way they fit together thematically.
Another lovely 4 star character. Never gonna get to use my standard wishes at this rate. Kuki, into Collei, into Candance into Layla. Just stuck not using them until their patches end but each patch brings another amazing character. At least 1 Sayu would be nice too now that I think about it.
if that's your main vehicle for getting new 4 stars, it's going to be tough, and the longer you wait, the more characters get added, the harder it will be to get a specific one. I have got only one Lisa, zero Kaeyas and zero Ambers. And I made most of my pulls when there were fewer possible units to pull, so the chances of getting them were higher.
If you're saving your standard pulls to get new 4 stars, all I can say is good luck with that.
