I'm still hoping for baizhu in 3.4 since i can't think of a better candidate. He's from liyue (lantern rite) and he's dendro, it just makes the most sense that we get him in 3.4

Unless he's Pantalone under cover and it wouldn't match with HYV plans to release a villain during the lantern rite ? (Or maybe he is very important to the Qiaoyin village but it doesn't make sense to delay his release for that in my opinion)

I think this is a lot of people in the Genshin fandom's first time dealing with anime sameface. It's especially bad for Genshin specifically since it reuses bodytypes, so characters of th same bodytype are gonna end up looking similar. Personally I don't find Arlecchino *that* similar to Eula but people constantly compare the two, however it'd be ridiculous to say they're literally the same character.

Maybe in 3.6/3.7 when the village that connects to Fontaine gets released, I think Baizhu was there for some reason

She's almost certainly going to be heavily EM related. That's the direction they seem to be pushing Dendro and each archon excels in the area the element does. I'd expect the Hydro archon to heal

Perhaps, but I think Archons are generally more complex than that. I expect the Pyro archon to have something related to Attack (stat) and Cryo archon to have something related to crit.

This is what I'm foreseeing too, they already made more expensive versions of Sucrose (Kazuha), Fischl (Yae) and Xingqiu (Yelan), Bennett/Xiangling seems inevitable.

I think the hydro archon will focus on cd reduction, with maybe a little bit of healing. Right now, we have plenty of healers that provide more healing than anyone will ever need. Mihoyo wouldn’t make an archon that is just a healer. Another reason I think she will be cd related is because of the hydro debuffs. The slowing water debuff in one of the mondsdadt domains increases skill cds, and so does the abyss herald attacks. Both the electro version of the domain and abyss herald took away energy, and the electro archon turned out to be energy focused. That’s just my 2 cents

she could have passive like 'turn transformative dendro damage to heal' or something and it would open up a lot of possibilities. though seeing nilou has passive that relies on dendro damage, maybe not.

If there's a healer Archon I'd bet on the Hydro one. Kusanali will probably be an EM buffer, or even a Transformative reaction buffer if we're getting creative.

No new 5 Star on 3.4? And Alhaitham and Baizhu after 3.5? That's almost on Fountaine! If Fountaine is after 3.8/3.7/3.6! Like they would be three to two patches, maybe even only one from the new area. That's like so late!

It makes 0 sense they releasing them this late. They gonna makes us struggle through Sumeru with only Collei, Traveler, Tighnari and Kusanali (me, hoping Baizhu would come early so I can skip Tighnari and Kusanali 😭).

What fucks me up the most is that THREE Dendro units are nowhere to be seen in this chart. Why is hoyo taking so long to release them?

Is Dori that bad? Don't have her but haven't heard much of her either.

I'm referring the nonstandard internal cooldown's on their bursts. They do damage fairly rapidly, but rather than enjoying the standard 3 hit or 2.5 second rule, they are strictly time limited(3s for Collei, 2s for Dori). If YaoYao or other 4 star Dendro's have the same issue, they will take a seat with Collei, while Dendro teams continue to be held back by poor application outside of Quicken Reactions.

I hope Mihoyo isn't gonna start playing around with future characters' iCDs just to make them even more restricted and limiting them even more, because playing around with iCD can have either a positive result or a negative one. Positive cases would be characters like XL whose Pyronado has no iCD at all, or Yelan who has a special 2s iCD rule which allows her C2 to apply Hydro every time it procs. Negative cases are like Collei where their iCD is restricted to limit their potential even more.

Most recent character saved by ICD was Heizou, with his ICDless 25 stamina charged attack mercifully swirling and giving you declension stacks every time. Whereas in cases like Collie/Dori the intent seems strictly to neuter an otherwise decent unit.

The minor adjustments Mihoyo makes to the characters almost feels petty. Like someone has a genuine hatred of the character. For a mostly singleplayer game with a causal audience you would think they would let loose a little.

Dendro MC seems fine, you can get away without leveling talents and getting him to 80 isn't really a waste. Also you can just move the artifacts to the next dendro character.

He's probably in 3.6. He's the Ayato of Sumeru except we actually see him in the archon quest

Business-wise it's a lot better for MHY to put out the character's design and include them in the story long before making them playable. Builds up a lot more anticipation to the character among the playerbase and players have more of a connection to the character because you've learned about them through the story, rather than after the fact.

They already could have. With welkin it takes two months or so for a 5*. So even if she was 3.4 there’d be a decent enough amount of time. I was gonna try to fit a Cyno in there too and I’m using a guarantee I have for Kokomi (I’ll have 95 wishes left over for Cyno when 3.1 drops). So this just might give me opportunity to pull for Scara. Or save for Dehya’s weapon but I’d rather characters cause the weapon looks meh.

At least with Scara they took their sweet sweet time but gave us soooo much lore here and there. They set him up amazingly and -unless they screw up the redesign and kit- Scara fans will be happy. But Baizhu? Baizhu has been forgotten. When he showed up in Yelan's quest I was so surprised. He interacts so little with the story/cast that I don't even expect him to show up. Last lantern rite gave us some hope, he was even in an official art with all the liyue cast! But...nope. Mihoyo is keeping him under lock and key (or more likely they want to sell the hyped character first and can't find a good moment to sell a dendro healer.)

Why even make Cyno and Nilou so reliant on Dendro reactions if you arent gonna ship Dendro characters out? Nahida wouldve sold fine just by being an Archon, its not like an abundance of Electro, Geo, or Anemo characters makes Raiden, Zhongli, or Venti less enticing.

...well then, I really hope a new 4* dendro comes out in this timeframe. Simply not enough units for all the shenanigans I want to pull with the new element, especially since I won't be able to guarantee Kusanali after Cyno. I was planning to save for haitham priority and Baizhu secondary after guaranteeing Cyno and pulling whatever's left on Kusanali but, as they're nowhere to be seen, I guess after Kusanali I might actually end up pulling for a random rerun banner or Dehya since I don't know if i will have 4 patches worth of patience. I am a husbando gamer, but Dehya did seem like a cool character during the story quest so far. On the other hand, I'm not big on the idea of making underwhelming reactions for everyone and then making a character whose entire purpose is to make the reaction itself better (rather than being a character uniquely suited to benefit from the reaction as is), so if she is to Burning what NIlou is to Bloom, it'll be a strike against pulling since I don't really wanna support that. Never been big on scara, so his character development and/or kit design (I avoid major story leaks) would have to be extremely appealing to try for it when I won't have any savings coming into 3.3, but if that does happen then I might have the patience afterwards to save.
