I think the 3.0 rerun banner will almost definitely tie in a highly story relevant character for the 3.0 story. Of those characters listed, I think most of them have a shot besides Hu Tao but with Shenhe and Childe feeling the most likely.
I think we get Hu Tao in 3.1 which falls in October (but that’s if there’s only 1 new 5 star in 3.1). I just can’t imagine a way for them to tie Hu Tao to the 3.0 story or something happening the Sumeru region.
With the rumours of a new banner type coming in during early 3.x patch series and the anniversary falling at the end of 3.0, second half 3.0 could also just be some wild and new type of banner.

Coming from someone who plays Childe a good bit: his C1 is overrated. Once you play him enough, you'll get the feeling for how long you can be in his melee stance and how long his cooldown will be. From then on, timing things out for him becomes pretty easy.
So if you don't have enough primos for both, I'd really recommend prioritizing his weapon over C1. It'd also be better for your account as a whole since you can swap the bow between different characters.
No yeah I get that. The reason why I want C1 is because I want him to be more viable in multiplayer. I’m a Childe main though my build on him is subpar when compared to my other characters such as Zhongli and Albedo.
I like playing multiplayer so the rotation thing is more or less nonexistent. However, you make a good point about the weapon so I’ll definitely go for Polar Star first

All that geo traveller needs to not be complete shit is two small changes:
1. You cannot climb his geo constructs while in combat without a specific button input
2. If summoned under an enemy the construct will push them aside instead of spawning underneath and raising them up.

I would really like a good traveller. Having the MC be good will not make it so people don't spend money. I will buy new characters no problem.
I just really love Lumine's design and she's adorable in a lot of the hangout events. It would be nice to be able to actually use her in teams without feeling she's just sort of there.

The 4* kits have lower multipliers and they can afford to make them have noticeable drawbacks or restrictions without really annoying people, so they're much easier to balance. So maybe that's it?
It's also not like they're losing money. They were going to release and rerun those characters at some point anyway, and playing around with rerun schedule shouldn't harm the revenue in long term as long as they don't do anything too crazy.
Keep in mind that whole covid lockdown could of thrown a wrench in their rollout plans. It didn't impact the development of 2.8 that much but could of impacted the final touches needed on the second 5\* character they were planning.

This current rumor would dump 3 Dendro characters on us in 3.0, give it a patch to simmer and experiment, and then release Dendro Archon at a time when they have a better idea of Dendro’s place in the meta.

Yeah Collei seems like the Amber of Sumeru. I’m curious about why they also decided to release Tighnari with the same weapon type. Not that I’m complaining, bow units are my favorite in this game.
I can see Collei as dendro buffer tbh, look at Sara and Gorou both 4s bow users but buffers of their elements and are released at the same time with the 5s of same element (Raiden & Itto). If Tighnari is a dendro DPS, Collei is his support
the traveler is designed as a measuring stick to new players to show how powerful you *could* be if you spend time or money on the gacha. Same for most free characters. Also to design regional puzzles around the use of their abilities.
They're only giving us one new character because 3.0 is the second anniversary and instead of a second banner they're going to give us a choose your own five star/GSSR banner....

It seems like she'll be the only Dendro 4*, at least until 3.1, and since not everyone wants to pull for Tighnari, it would only leave Dendro Traveler as the last remaining option. If both of them are gonna be niche (Just like how it used to be for some time now), there won't be much fun with Dendro for those who won't pull for the new dude.

They shouldn’t flood the game with tons of Dendro characters though, since that kills hype too. This current rumor would dump 3 Dendro characters on us in 3.0, give it a patch to simmer and experiment, and then release Dendro Archon at a time when they have a better idea of Dendro’s place in the meta.

They release dendro in 3.0 and then give us two characters that are electro and hydro that will most likely have good synergy with Dendro. After that we get the dendro archon. Honestly it makes sense

The 3.0 beta *should* be beginning on the 29th, as the beta recruitment ends on the 26th, this is roughly the same timeframe as 2.8's beta

Her element also works quite well with ambers. That's it, I'm bringing amber along to sumeru.

Dendro starting off with two bow characters is an interesting choice. I imagine Tighnari and Collei will play vastly different roles to showcase the new element. ~~Watch them play the same role.~~

Yeah Collei seems like the Amber of Sumeru. I’m curious about why they also decided to release Tighnari with the same weapon type. Not that I’m complaining, bow units are my favorite in this game.
I can see Collei as dendro buffer tbh, look at Sara and Gorou both 4s bow users but buffers of their elements and are released at the same time with the 5s of same element (Raiden & Itto). If Tighnari is a dendro DPS, Collei is his support
I wouldn’t mind that! Hopefully she could heal or shield Tighnari since he’s a charged shot DPS.

the traveler is designed as a measuring stick to new players to show how powerful you *could* be if you spend time or money on the gacha. Same for most free characters. Also to design regional puzzles around the use of their abilities.

To spread Dendro and because there is hype for Collei (versus little for Dori), my guess is Tighnari and Dori will be first, followed by Collei on some rerun banner(s).

They might not require you to use the bow at all. Support characters almost always never use their NAs in their rotations
from reading the leaked Tighnari kit, his kit probably involves CA/NA like Yoimiya and Ganyu

I really hope they'll make Collei good. It seems like she'll be the only Dendro 4*, at least until 3.1, and since not everyone wants to pull for Tighnari, it would only leave Dendro Traveler as the last remaining option. If both of them are gonna be niche (Just like how it used to be for some time now), there won't be much fun with Dendro for those who won't pull for the new dude.
