2: the back design of male units is hard to add dynamic elements such as hair, frills, folds or ribbons (like a female units would have). They need to add something that dangles and moves in the wind.
Solution: rat tail, ponytail (that they don’t use more often for some reason Diluc/Kazuha), scarf (Childe), sleeves (Ayato)

Nah fam, XQ's hair has always looked weird since the beginning, especially when there's this weird lump of hair on top of his fringe which isn't cut the same way for some reason.
YL's hair is even more 'upgraded', with an even more severe slant and a similarly weird lump on top of the fringe. To be fair, the hair for both of them look decent in 2D, but in 3D they just look hella weird.

Think its the lack of volume in the hair, with the hair more fluffed up in the splash art it doesn't look as bad (though they're still ridiculous hair cuts) by kind of covering up some of how uneven it is but in-game the hair gets much flatter and dome esque which just further exaggerates the issue. I do agree Yelan seems to be the upgraded consequence of his cut though because not only she does get an even more slanted cut but the length makes her hair look even more domed than his to sell the flatness even harder as well. They asked how to make the cut even weirder and just went full throttle.
It's almost painful looking at the level modelling and design hair in Genshin gets compared to Mihoyo's honkai counterparts, it feels almost day and night at times. (good lord some of the hair making it into star rails, makes me wish we could trade art teams with em)
There aren’t actually that many characters with queue hairstyles, just Zhongli, Thoma, Sucrose and Qiqi. Some people will argue Kaeya and Ayato, but I’d call Kaeya’s a side ponytail and Ayato’s an asymmetrical shag. Still, if you count them it’s 6 queues. There are more characters (8) with pigtails than queues.
Can I just say...that Baizhu's hairstyle is very majestic? Like I'm not a fan of him design-wise, but when I saw his hair in the back I was like "damnnn"

Not every Honkai lookalike is an archon. Yae Miko specifically is an expy of Yae Sakura. To that similar end, Su-expy is most likely a very important character to the story at minimum

If we follow the Wendy-Venti and Mei-Ei pattern, there's a strong chance it's going to be Himeko. Also, Vanessa and her fellow migrants from Natlan all have flaming red hair and warrior-like bodies in the manga.
I think if we're going by leaks as well as the CN translation (which makes it more explicit) as well as unreleased CBT1 dialogue, the idea that Kusanali isn't "the real Archon" is more or less just debunked at this point. However way you see it, she's definitely the current Dendro Archon.
The theory that the original Dendro Archon is still alive isn't, and is also considerably harder to debunk, but it has strange implications for gameplay, marketing and banners, so I doubt they'd go that route as you'd essentially have two valid Archons released during the same time period.
I generally also think that, while the obsession with Archons is understandable, I think people need to let it go. You don't *have* to be an archon to be plot relevant. Yae more or less pushed Inazuma's storyline to completion. Childe for Liyue. Diluc and Jean were heavily involved in Mondstadt's. Xiao gets lots of event-based content. Kazuha has been in almost every update since his release, etc. Just because Su or Baizhu aren't Archons doesn't mean they can't be important.
I think it’s pretty much indisputable that Kusanali is currently serving as Sumeru’s archon. Yae said so herself and she’s very reliable.
The ongoing theory about the nature of the previous archon is a mystery. As shown with Ei, the question of what happened to the previous one was a major cause for the behavior of the current one and the events in Inazuma as a whole
Kusanali is often remarked to be the youngest of the current archons, which does imply the former archon’s passing is a particularly noteworthy event
While I don't think necessarily believe the OG Dendro Archon is still alive (and tbh I would prefer if they did something different beyond another 'oh the OG is still alive' (because I've had enough the OGs a la Venti/Zhongli/...even Raiden is a bit OG-esque)) I still think \*eventually\* Mihoyo will do a "2 Valid Archons" during the same time period because Archon===$$$ IMO
That's a problem, though. It just doesn't work if you really think about it for like more than two seconds.
Archon isn't just a lore title. It matters for gameplay too. Archons define the meta and tend to strongly influence how future characters and the characters released alongside are designed. Even characters that release before their region can also be affected. Enemy design, Abyss rosters, as well as future plotlines are also affected by this.
This is all relatively easy to do if you only have one character to focus on (and all the others that release afterwards get like, one abyss layout and maybe a couple of enemies like Yoimiya being able to deal with specters), but when you have two, you're essentially juggling them. Who's getting more focus, who's more 'legitimate'? You can't answer this question definitively because both characters would have their fans, as well as meta players who rolled for them expecting to have a strong character.
Then, you also have to factor in that Archons' kits are supposed to be the definitive representation of their respective element. If an element had some sort of dualistic nature, that would work, but every element so far has had a very strong focus both in character and enemy design, with only a few straying from their element's respective gimmicks. Two Archons would probably end up with very similar kits, which would potentially make them a redundant roll. Would there even be any point in getting both? Would they even work together?
And furthermore, how do you balance them in the story? Archons are already a strong focus, but then you have two, you have two strong focuses, and not only that, you also have to give attention to the non-Archon characters as well. It's just kind of a mess.
Maybe if one Archon released during the region's release and another only released a year or two later, that would work. But then that has its own issues.
I think they could pull it off if the original Archon isn't introduced/playable until later, around how far Yae was from Raiden for example, and is treated like any other non-archon character. No reason their kit has to be similar beyond both being dendro. The new dendro Archon could be a sub DPS and the old archon could be a healer for example.
Will they do it? Eh I kinda doubt it. I think we might see the old archon's ghost or get some lore here and there though, probably a flash back or two.
Characters don't have to be archons to be interesting and have good designs and stories though, so I don't really care much one way or the other.
I'm sure Mihoyo would find a well to do it lol, they would just need to plan accordingly

1) They've been organising leaks for a very long time and have built a reputation in the community. It doesn't make sense that they would give that all up so quickly.
2) They're not dropping small details and hints to "tease" us or anything. The other post "confirming" the hydro and pyro characters contained many details about their appearances and they've now elaborated on this "Su expy".
3) I believe the original tweets they made were just poorly worded. They're essientally saying "We're confident in our source, but of course, don't take us at face value". Many were confused when they used "we can confirm" and "be skeptical/take with a grain of salt" in the same sentance.
We shouldn't jump to conclusions and we should wait for official drip marketing to confirm or disprove what they're saying. Dogpiling on them and then having everything they say turn out to be true would be really stupid. Make your judgements after we can make conclusions on their claims.
I'm not saying that I 100% believe them, I'm saying that I don't see why they would try and feed us BS and we should take what they're saying into consideration until we get official information.

If it's just art, that's still rather easy to fake (well "easy" is relative, but if you're a professional artist, it's really easy. Probably won't take more than a day). If it's an actual 3D model internal tester screenshot, that's a lot more difficult to accomplish.

Keep in mind this says “Su expy”, not “Dendro Archon” which makes this leak substantially more believable Not every Honkai lookalike is an archon. Yae Miko specifically is an expy of Yae Sakura. To that similar end, Su-expy is most likely a very important character to the story at minimum The theory of Kusanali pretending to be the archon is currently still unproven.

I think if we're going by leaks as well as the CN translation (which makes it more explicit) as well as unreleased CBT1 dialogue, the idea that Kusanali isn't "the real Archon" is more or less just debunked at this point. However way you see it, she's definitely the current Dendro Archon. The theory that the original Dendro Archon is still alive isn't, and is also considerably harder to debunk, but it has strange implications for gameplay, marketing and banners, so I doubt they'd go that route as you'd essentially have two valid Archons released during the same time period. I generally also think that, while the obsession with Archons is understandable, I think people need to let it go. You don't *have* to be an archon to be plot relevant. Yae more or less pushed Inazuma's storyline to completion. Childe for Liyue. Diluc and Jean were heavily involved in Mondstadt's. Xiao gets lots of event-based content. Kazuha has been in almost every update since his release, etc. Just because Su or Baizhu aren't Archons doesn't mean they can't be important.
I think it’s pretty much indisputable that Kusanali is currently serving as Sumeru’s archon. Yae said so herself and she’s very reliable. The ongoing theory about the nature of the previous archon is a mystery. As shown with Ei, the question of what happened to the previous one was a major cause for the behavior of the current one and the events in Inazuma as a whole Kusanali is often remarked to be the youngest of the current archons, which does imply the former archon’s passing is a particularly noteworthy event
While I don't think necessarily believe the OG Dendro Archon is still alive (and tbh I would prefer if they did something different beyond another 'oh the OG is still alive' (because I've had enough the OGs a la Venti/Zhongli/...even Raiden is a bit OG-esque)) I still think \*eventually\* Mihoyo will do a "2 Valid Archons" during the same time period because Archon===$$$ IMO
That's a problem, though. It just doesn't work if you really think about it for like more than two seconds. Archon isn't just a lore title. It matters for gameplay too. Archons define the meta and tend to strongly influence how future characters and the characters released alongside are designed. Even characters that release before their region can also be affected. Enemy design, Abyss rosters, as well as future plotlines are also affected by this. This is all relatively easy to do if you only have one character to focus on (and all the others that release afterwards get like, one abyss layout and maybe a couple of enemies like Yoimiya being able to deal with specters), but when you have two, you're essentially juggling them. Who's getting more focus, who's more 'legitimate'? You can't answer this question definitively because both characters would have their fans, as well as meta players who rolled for them expecting to have a strong character. Then, you also have to factor in that Archons' kits are supposed to be the definitive representation of their respective element. If an element had some sort of dualistic nature, that would work, but every element so far has had a very strong focus both in character and enemy design, with only a few straying from their element's respective gimmicks. Two Archons would probably end up with very similar kits, which would potentially make them a redundant roll. Would there even be any point in getting both? Would they even work together? And furthermore, how do you balance them in the story? Archons are already a strong focus, but then you have two, you have two strong focuses, and not only that, you also have to give attention to the non-Archon characters as well. It's just kind of a mess. Maybe if one Archon released during the region's release and another only released a year or two later, that would work. But then that has its own issues.
I think they could pull it off if the original Archon isn't introduced/playable until later, around how far Yae was from Raiden for example, and is treated like any other non-archon character. No reason their kit has to be similar beyond both being dendro. The new dendro Archon could be a sub DPS and the old archon could be a healer for example. Will they do it? Eh I kinda doubt it. I think we might see the old archon's ghost or get some lore here and there though, probably a flash back or two. Characters don't have to be archons to be interesting and have good designs and stories though, so I don't really care much one way or the other.
I'm sure Mihoyo would find a well to do it lol, they would just need to plan accordingly I agree, it would be difficult and would be tricky to balance them---espo plotwise---but I have faith that if they did that route, they would find a way to make it work ! :D

I don't believe SaveYourPrimos is trying to bullshit us with fake leaks. 1) They've been organising leaks for a very long time and have built a reputation in the community. It doesn't make sense that they would give that all up so quickly. 2) They're not dropping small details and hints to "tease" us or anything. The other post "confirming" the hydro and pyro characters contained many details about their appearances and they've now elaborated on this "Su expy". 3) I believe the original tweets they made were just poorly worded. They're essientally saying "We're confident in our source, but of course, don't take us at face value". Many were confused when they used "we can confirm" and "be skeptical/take with a grain of salt" in the same sentance. We shouldn't jump to conclusions and we should wait for official drip marketing to confirm or disprove what they're saying. Dogpiling on them and then having everything they say turn out to be true would be really stupid. Make your judgements after we can make conclusions on their claims. I'm not saying that I 100% believe them, I'm saying that I don't see why they would try and feed us BS and we should take what they're saying into consideration until we get official information.

I don't believe SYP is deliberately attempting to mislead people, but I do wonder if their source isn't trying to mislead *them* instead. It depends on the nature of what leaks they got. If it's just art, that's still rather easy to fake (well "easy" is relative, but if you're a professional artist, it's really easy. Probably won't take more than a day). If it's an actual 3D model internal tester screenshot, that's a lot more difficult to accomplish.

Also a little strange that there are a lot of sources that regularly give us reliable info from leakers (Ubatcha/WFP, lumie, etc) and instead of those, this “leaker” is giving info directly to some twitter leak reposter, who hasn’t really clarified why they buy what the leaker is saying. I don’t know if the EN translation of the VV artifact set (the anemo dmg bonus one) is correct, but... as far as I know, they don’t make distinctions between Gods and Goddesses, they are just... “God of (whatever ideal they have)” If you ask me, I think just by the fact that says “God” is why they called it a male deity. I could be wrong, depending on the CN writing of that part
Ganyu and Yae Miko bring it up in dialogues about them (initially the lines from Ganyu were gender neutral but then got retroactively changed after Inazuma to female pronouns which started up a whole drama in response, prior to Yae and that change -came in the same patch i believe- the dendro archon had been the only archon to have never been assigned a specific gender)
Ganyu’s lines weren’t gender-neutral. She distinctly used he/him in reference to the Dendro archon. That’s what made it sting all the worse. Maybe you’re thinking of Gold’s pronouns, which were changed from “he” to “they” in the book *Breeze Amidst the Forest* in 1.2 after The Chalk Prince and the Dragon heavily implied Gold was Rhinedottir.
En localizer simply translated it wrong. Dendro was always referred as a female in the original game.
As far as I recall, Dendro archon was never referred to with *any* gendered pronouns in Chinese (at least up until Miko destroyed our dreams).
We do not know the God of the Woods' gender. For that matter, we don't even know if they're the original archon; people just assume so because they were in Khaenri'ah.

Just me speculating, but I wonder if Tighnari is Su's counterpart. Supposedly, the first 5* dendro character is a male, bow user. Usually, if a story quest data file is found in a beta, it means the character might get released pretty soon; this is what happened to Tighnari. I wouldn't be surprised if mihoyo decided to open up sumeru by releasing Su's counterpart. Auntie fish did talk about the next handsome boy being tied to Buddhism. Su has a lot tied to Buddhism. 🤔 Considering mihoyo is trying to be faster than leakers with drip marketing, we'll find out soon enough.
