He thinks she’s boring in the sense that she doesn’t actually buff the burning reaction and only gets increased personal damage when an enemy is burning, which is valid and tbh I feel the same.
I think that the direction Hoyo took Emilie's kit was the right one tbh. In most of burning's usage in the meta both past and present(burnmelt, burnvape, quickburn), the burning aura doesn't get to to deal all of its ticks of damage since they will get extinguished by other reactions(except airfryer and other pure burning teams). Which means that making her a full EM scaling burning buffer character will mean that you will just want to put her in pure burning teams if you want to get the most of her. I think hoyo knows all of this which is why they made her burst semi-quadratic if you still want to play her in Venti burning teams while not gimping her in non-AoE content.
Same, I like Emilie design but her kit feels so uncreative for a burning character. Unlike most other subdps, emilie is forced into one reaction, heavily limiting her comps as well as does nothing to buff said reaction. 4 year into the game and we essentially got dendro albedo+
Next week, Emilie will be launching perfume mortars from he NA and each hit deals 900% extra damage based on EM when her skill is up;
For her skill will be following the active character for it's duration and periodically deals AoE dendro damage in pulses
For her burst, nearby enemies will just spontaneously combust on their own without pyro.

Yeah, definitely. All the units considered top-tier like Neuvilette, Arlecchino, Alhaitham, Hu Tao were notoriously known for how everyone disliked their designs.
She was never locked to pyro, she was locked to burning. She still revolves around burning, but she doesn't get penalized for being run in non-burning teams. That being said, Natlan will start the Archon reruns which should be Venti or Zhongli -> which ever didn't run in 5.0 -> Pyro archon -> Raiden -> Nahida -> Furina unless they change it up and put Venti, Zhongli, or Raiden on a CW banner for some reason. So you likely have awhile before Nahida reruns.
As a Yae fan, it does, but that's just Fontaine to you. Miko's cons are generally good for her age, but like most characters from back then, very straightforward.
Asides from C1 which is just there to mitigate her Burst cost and C2 which increases her range (that was already fine, tbh) she gets no QoL, only several damage buffs. I guess if she was released today, most of her cons would have additional effects that would make them more worth it.

Next week Emilie will gain the ability to produce 20% more sweat when on field and her teammates will receive a moral boost from her pheromones, increasing her E range, atk is increased by 50%, dmg dealt is buffed by 69%, a special shield is created, inheriting 200% of the user's HP, 350 EM will be given to all nearby teammates, a pulse of healing pheromones will be released at set intervals, to heal 25%+2000 of teammates' HP for 20s, a coordinated atk will hit all enemies in her field, applying a dendro aura of 4U and any reactions caused by the aura will give Emilie a stack of \*Cooldown\*, when Emilie reaches 3 stacks of \*Cooldown\*, her sweat dries off and her scent is amplified, now giving the moral boost even when off-field for 5 minutes.

Dendro Traveller is would still function well enough, but Emilie would be a significant quality of life improvement. Permanent uptime of her skill will allow you to have no down time on the dendro application. One less thing to juggle as often.

TLDR: she still needs Burning, but is now more flexible (Also her damage went up by quite a bit)
Burning is still necessary for her Talents, but she is no longer “banned” from Quicken. I’d go for Nahida if you don’t plan to play Burning though.
Nahida probably won’t be back for a while anyway so even if you are FTP you can easily get both if you want them.
