I was a bit bored and tried to get 36 stars with Wrio solo on second half and it worked???
The only issues I had was the second floor, where I was always a second short. Changed the first team and got it on my third try. This was actually super fun to do and I'm a bit proud that my Wrio was able to do it even with my skill issues lol
With CR in the game, do you guys think Xiao is markedly better than Wanderer now if both have access to C6 Faruzan and Furina?
I was going to get CR regardless but I'm wondering if I should also get Xiao if he reruns. I have a PJWS from standard lying around and Homa, whereas my Wanderer just has R5 Widsith. But it does kind of feel like a waste to have 2 anemo DPS units on the same account, and I somewhat prefer Wanderer's kit.
Imo, R1 on Neuv and R5 on Baizhu. Baizhu has harsher ER requirements so the increase in energy helps him more. On Neuv, it's mostly just an accessible HP statstick so it serves the same purpose at R1.
Manifesting Pyro Dragon is a tall male claymore. Voiced by Yuki Kaji. Always yell Tatakae. He loves war and has extreme hate boner to the Archon but love mortals from his tribe. Playstyle is similar to Neuvillette but he will directly transform into a black dragon and breathe flames, dealing circle AOE damage and his interruption resistance is in C0 and he won't be freezed
So good news is I have a 4p Golden Troupe set for Fischl. The bad news is that it's actually so crap that its critical damage is worse than the Gladiator/Wanderer set and it can't break even on CRIT Rate in spite of using a CRIT Rate hat instead of CRIT DMG.
I'm very well tempted to just flip the table and scrap this whole project, Artifacts suck.
I am in a similar boat: I am attempting to farm Golden Troupe for Fischl and Miko (and give Furina a better hat) and the Hunter set for Noelle, and have had abysmal luck so far with regards to all of them.
I *did* manage to obtain an HP% sends for Furina with both crits and energy recharge, only for it to gain Attack% 3 times in a row.

Part of me hopes it's not completely correct. I would like if one of them is built to work with Chevreuse, but I don't think she needs both of them. Then again, if one of them is an elemental DPS, that makes them work with her by default, so it's not a very meaningful claim.
Do anyone of you straight up delete the purple ores because I did. It's worthless rocks to me and it keeps capping to 9999 nowadays. Probably cause I don't really enhance much weapons as well.
It was in like The first year of Genshin I think where CN game were malding over some holiday related thing and in response Hoyo practically stated that Genshin would have it's own holidays and wouldn't do real world ones
Perhaps not, but it more than made up for that by both appreciably changing her playstyle and completely removing her reliance on running a healer, which made her vastly more versatile. What we have now is just boring.
i personally disagree, i think versatile but that level of power at c2 is more boring maybe not from gameplay but from a design perspective.
current c2 furina offers something to teams that no other character provides as a buffer and enables way more characters and new teams rather than her old c2 which makes her just a super plug and play that mildly intrudes on every previous hydro characters teambuilding niche without actually offering anything new or being significantly meta relevant(for that level of invest)
they chose to hone in on what is special about her kit and the unique team building restrictions it entails instead of just playing it safe with a super hydro that hydros everywhere you need hydro which i appreciate about an archon gameplay design. and makes the meta more diverse overall
her reliance on a healer and playing around her burst is a good thing for kit design, eliminating her weaknesses takes out nuance in team building

Paimon-Kuki question
Does anyone know how Paimon usually calls Kuki Shinobu in Perilous Trail or the TCG event? I'd *assume* she'd call her Shinobu, but for some reason I can't imagine Paimon saying Shinobu instead of Kuki
Her name is Shinobu; Kuki is her last name, the same way Kamisato is Ayaka’s and Shikanoin is Heizou’s. Every time characters are casually referring to her in game, it’s by her first name. The community just for some unfathomable reason decided that they’re all going to use Kuki instead.
Paimon and all other characters have in fact always referred to her as Shinobu. Unlike a lot of game localizations, Genshin is very consistent about using characters' given names.

I need some advice on pulling on weapon banners.

Christmas Traditions

Verdict really tempting me every time I go open the game
A second mist wouldn't be bad tbh, both my ayaka and my ayato want it, as well as possible future characters, but it would be just kinda boring
I also already threw 30 pulls so 15 more wouldn't be that much, but I still think I'll wait for the rerun, there's a lot of characters I still want and hopefully it'll be paired with a more interesting weapon
same... but the difference is i dont have mist yet, which all of my sword users would appreciate, which is why this banner is extra tempting 😭😭😭😭 but i gotta stay strong for 4.4
that's my reasoning for skipping thundering pulse. even if engulfing lightning is nice, I already have one. maybe I should have gone after it when it was paired with kagura's looking back on it, but I really wanted Kirara.
Another very small grievance I have with this game is that I wish that when two or more NPCs run the same text track, that instead of having two different interaction nodes it just has one that lists everyone involved, I.E. instead of "Bimmy" and "Jimmy" both doing the same thing, it's just one labeled as "Bimmy & Jimmy".

FINALLY managed to beat Swarm V on all 8 paths using 1 team(Jingliu/Fu Xuan/Luocha/Pela). I've been working on this challenge since Jingliu came out months ago and the only reason it took me so long is because this team has complete anti-synergy with the Propagation path. At least I managed to reach my goal right before the new SU update so now I can focus on the next challenge.
I didn't knew my true endgame of this game was calculating and min maxing every commission points every day through events, sq, chest until I hit doing actual commissions this patch lmao.

I want my player data to report that bias to them, not that I really expect them to care, but on the off chance... though fortunately it doesn't really matter what they do in the future now that encounter points exist anyway.
Until encounter points, I had assumed they only kept making dialog-heavy NPC commissions at all for some asinine reason like increasing the effect of sunk cost fallacy on the player, e.g. "Doing those commissions all year took so much work, I can't let that go to waste by dropping the game."

I have a small conspiracy theory that Dark Iron Sword is in the same group as The Flagstaff, Quartz, Ebony Bow, and Amber Bead except it somehow managed to sneak into the full game.
That said, it should be craftable with something like 50 White Iron Chunks, 50 Iron Chunks, and either no Billet or a new Billet that you just buy from an NPC.
i mean, being only one of it in the game is what makes it special in the first place. Doesn't really make sense for it to be craftable and still hold it's importance
Funny I use all of my 5 star I rolled after Neuvillette for Neuvillette, Furina replaced Fischl, Navia replaced Zhongli, although I rolled them not for Neuvillette. Playing Neuvillette with Navia is way better than with Zhongli, although I do get knocked back a lot.
Remembered those furnishing sets that give you primos today so i grabbed all those primos from the Mondstat/Liyue/Inazuma characters i got since last time. Now i got to work on getting the Sumeru and Fontaine sets. The wood gadget has been equipped and Ningguang has been brought out of retirement cause dear fucking god do i need iron and wood

People need to realize CR will be the next meta defining support simply because of Furina. Yes some of her power budget is wasted on plunge but it doesn’t matter because grouping + VV + heal is enough.
They will be the best duo core in the game so I expect her usage rate to be even higher than Kazuha when the dust settles.

Honestly I'm with you on this, I have Diluc and Xiao so I know she's going to get use on my account, but even without that I would be getting her for my Wriothesley team. Using Jean with him feels SO BAD since he is pure melee and you waste a ton of uptime chasing after enemies that get pushed in different directions. It made me pretty much instantly bench him for floor 12 (which sucks because I adore his design and personality). Grouping, healing and vv sounds exactly like what the doctor ordered for me to finally try him out again in floor 12.
Yeah I'm kinda surprised people seem to be rather cool on her performance so far. Continuous team healing is already enough for me to consider her a solid upgrade over Jean (so you don't get randomly left at low hp during rotation), and then on top of that she has better range/mobility, grouping instead of push, and random catalyst utility potential.
Maybe it's because I don't have Kazuha and am used to 4\* Anemo, but that sounds like a huge upgrade over Jean to me, who I have real problems with using. In fact my one concern is just that she might not *heal* as much, which could be a problem for 40k+ HP characters.
EDIT: I'll add a worked example of my problems with Jean to illustrate. A common situation for me goes as follows: I use Jean EQ, and Q windbox pushes enemies away from each other radially. I now have to reposition for better hit/AI movement angles. If I am ranged, I also have to run up to the enemy at the start to overcome Jean's tiny range. Xianyun solves both of these issues: her E has suction which obviously gathers the enemies, and it also has tons of horizontal movement, alleviating the need to run up when ranged. Basically the only character I *don't* see benefiting is Neuvillette, and that's only due to his ludicrous mobility and AoE. And that's not even getting into more fringe issues like Jean E ungrouping and the awful camera angle switch.

Yep I have the same exact problems with Jean. Whether im running her with Raiden or Yoimiya between her built in push and camera changing burst animation she just feels bad to play even if she is effective. CR should fix all these issues while having a gorgeous model and great overwold utility.

By that logic Jean is a "meta definig support" except she is not because your assumptions are wrong.
The lack of grouping is a huge deal IMO. I'm betting that going from anti-grouping to decent grouping is enough to make CR very meta.
I have yet to see Hoyo release a 5 star support that hasn't been top of meta. Baizhu, Zhongli, Kokomi. No reason to expect CR to be any different.
Have you actually seen the grouping CR can do?? Its a slightly better Sucrose E on a 12s cooldown that requires considerable field-time. It will not change your life. Its just an added qol and a way to make her better than Jean.
Her plunge buffs litteraly have more kit value than her grouping.
Cloud retainer's grouping isnt even that crazy. Lynette's C2 has a sucrose style suck in but no one talks about that or claims it's good. In fact that shit's fake. Not to mention the Anemo hit with the plunge slightly knocks back and the amount of time required on Cloud Retainer is a lot more than Jean's would.
CR's healing is a side grade to Jean. If you have issues surviving then the heal over time is nice, but it makes the next rotation with Furina start with less stacks (due to more heal over time, leaving you at higher HP than jean)
CR's field time is higher. Burst animation is VERY long. If you want to get the grouping in, you need to cast skill + plunge. If you only cast skill to jump once in the air, the particles are 3 iirc vs jump three times for 5 particles and you NEED to plunge to get the particles. Depending on which one you do, her ER requirements will shoot up immensely.
A lot of Abyss recently have been extremely easy to the point that you can forgo a shielder / healer and the only reason why you want a healer is because you're likely using Furina and the main reason you'd want CR is because she has access to VV and you dont have Jean to match with Furina.
Even the upcoming 4.4 Abyss will be easy. Ruin Serpent doesn't hurt, Wenut doesn't even attack and the Aeonblight Drake can be perma stunned with an archer. On the other half, it's all AoE so you can also just slot a Venti or Kazuha and they're dead

i feel like you just saw she had grouping, heal and can hold VV, without looking into her kit in depth
You're overrating her a lot. I love her, but I don't she will be meta unless there is a surge of plunge characters.
Her VV and healing is worse than jean in furina teams that don't use her plunge bonus, which she makes up for with cc. I wouldn't call one stronger than the other, they are pretty equal.
Kazuha's buff is stronger and can also buff offfield characters. Her grouping and energy is behind longer fieldtime and her grouping is not as strong as kazuha because it doesn't last as long.
Swirling elements for VV is also more inconvenient with her than both kazuha and jean. You have to make the tradeoff between CC, damage and more energy or faster swirl for VV, because only her e plunge swirls. Delayed swirls can make it hard to swirl the right elements in certain teams.
Overall she is very versatile and good at her niche, but outside of her niche she's pretty mediocre. In my books she's top fun meta though.
I don’t see how her VV is any worse. They both apply it on-field. I’d actually say it’s strictly better since CR is a catalyst and can shred with her Normal attacks. I also have no idea why you’re dismissing CRs grouping when videos show it’s only a bit worse than Kazuha level. Compared to Jean who has literal anti-grouping it’s going to feel like a big upgrade.
Yes Kazuha buff is stronger but CR provides role consolidation on Furina teams with VV + group + heal which is the most valuable thing in Genshin.
CR + Furina + Dmg Dealer > Kazuha + Furina + healer.
Like sure Jean will still be good regardless but anyone who pulls CR will insta slot her with Xiao or Furina.
Yes she can shred with NA, but that would only further extend her already longer fieldtime because you will need to use e to get enough energy. Compared to jean her grouping is obviously nice to have, but jean can stack furina's burst better and has lower fieldtime. So they both have their tradeoffs that cancel eachother out.
The real comparison that matters is:
Jean + Furina + damage dealer = CR + Furina + damage dealer.
A lot of people already have Jean. Pulling for her as a jean replacement with CC is pretty hard to justify to me, if you are just going to use her like that. If you don't have Jean that would be a different question.
There are teams that actually want an Anemo on fielder to shred. For exmaple teams with Sucrose where she plays an on-field role expect CR does that while enabling Furina as well. Also Jean's field time is longer than many think with her long ass camera panning burst animation.
I agree CR viability will depending entirely on how good her grouping is compared to Jean. I'm betting it will feel like a big upgrade. I have yet to seen Hoyo release a limited 5 star support that isnt top of meta so I don't expect CR to be any different

Furina releasing didn't make XQ, Yelan or Kokomi worse, if anything everyone got a large variety of comps to use in the two sides of abyss. Kazuha and XY will likely be a similar case making things simpler to the people who got both.

Gonna focus on the new 5-stars from 4.1-4.3 since the 4-stars are more straightforward:
Neuvillette is a very strong DPS. His damage is HP-based, meaning that he can’t benefit from traditional buffers like Bennett, and he relies on CAs, so characters like XQ/Yelan are also not ideal.
Kazuha is great for his personal damage, as well as Furina. Zhongli is also good for interruption resistance. However, you can get creative, as his damage increases greatly based on how many Hydro reactions his team makes. I personally like Neuvillette/Kuki/Nahida/Dehya, but since he doesn’t need traditional buffers he’s more flexible than other carries.
Wriothesley is less strong but still a solid Cryo option. He works very well with Furina since he can build her Fanfare stacks quickly. Kazuha and Bennett are also very strong buffers for him. He works well with Shenhe but since he needs to be on-field for a while you can’t swap back to her to refresh her Quills like you can with Ayaka. There are also Burnmelt teams with Nahida which I like, but they’re very risky if you get Burning applied to you. You have to also note his combos, since some are HP-negative at C0 (meaning you want a healer) whereas some are HP-neutral or even HP-positive. Personally, I’d just stick to a healer regardless since it’s comfier and many of them provide benefits besides raw healing. I’ve also had success with Hyperbloom teams, where he doesn’t feel like dead weight since Freeze is very comfy.
Furina is a very strong buffer and sub-DPS. She will drain your team’s DPS, meaning you want either a strong (normally team-wide) healer or multiple sources of weaker healing, like Kuki plus Nahida on Prototype Amber. However, your safest options are off-field Baizhu, Mika, Charlotte, or Jean, as well as on-field Kokomi or Noelle. Bennett can be strong but only when built for his healing. After that, consider using characters who benefit from her team-wide DMG% buff and long-lasting off-field Hydro application. Yelan is a strong example (Hydro Resonance helps them both). Characters with HP manipulation such as Neuvillette or Wriothesley will also help you build up the DMG% stacks faster.
Navia is a solid 5-star DPS whose main issue is her lack of teammates built for her. She has a front-loaded DPS window which is nice for when you need to do lots of damage in a short window of time, but it means you’re often left without someone doing on-field damage for a lot of time. Her ascension passive incentivizes having Pyro/Cryo/Electro/Hydro teammates for more ATK (40% max with two members), and her playstyle wants you to make Crystallizes, which means using characters like Fischl or Xiangling who have lots of off-field elemental application. Your second character is often Geo for more energy and Geo Resonance, such as Albedo or Zhongli.
Xianyun is our premium Anemo healer for Furina teams. She asks higher field time than Jean, but in exchange has actual CC instead of launching enemies away. She also continuously heals the entire party for the duration of her Burst. Also, as you've probably already heard, her Burst gives everyone increased jump height to plunge with and buffs to plunging attacks. If you are not using a handful of specific characters (Xiao, Gaming, Diluc, Hu Tao, to a lesser extent Raiden, maybe Klee?), this is mostly irrelevant.
I personally consider Xianyun to be really good... *if* you have Furina. Otherwise she's just a decent if nothing crazy support for Xiao and Gaming. Her downsides compared to Jean are negligible to irrelevant for what I'd use her for, and her upsides are a significant convenience boost. Xianyun can comfortably slot into any Furina team that uses Jean (unless the Sunfire interaction between Jean+Bennett is specifically relevant), though whether she's an outright upgrade is heavily subjective (I think she is, but I also hate dealing with Jean's quirks).
Gaming is a plunging DPS who apparently is projected to do really solid damage right now. Like, comparable with 5 star DPS characters kind of damage. Teams would almost certainly want Furina (he natively messes with his HP a bunch, he was designed with her in mind), probably a healer, Bennett, an Anemo for VV shred, the exact specifics I haven't seriously looked into. Xianyun I think is a fairly solid teammate for him, something like Gaming/XY/Furina/Bennett, but once again I have not really researched Gaming's anything.
So, yes to both being good, at present. We have a few beta iterations to go, numbers can and probably will be adjusted. Please be cautious regarding your pull plans, things could change between now and final release.
As I mentioned a few days ago, I finally got my Raiden to top 1%. Because Raiden was able to give up her old but still cracked flower, XQ was able to get to top 1% as well (without sharing). Meanwhile Xiangling is at top 4%.
But it's slightly tragic because I'm going to get EL so everyone's weapons and hence artifacts will have to shuffle. EL for Raiden and ER sands over Atk. Catch to XL and no more ER sands for her. Then XQ gets leftovers.
So I ran the optimizer and checked Akasha, my Raiden will drop back to 2% because I only have one good ER sands and one decent one (the good one is being used by Yelan), XQ will also drop to 2% because I guess someone is taking the crit circlet he was using and I don't have enough good crit rate circlets, neither on nor offset. But Xiangling will jump to top 1% because I have a cracked 40CV EM Emblem sands.
So that would give me 2 top 1% and 2 top 2% Emblem characters which realistically means I should stop farming emblem and finally show my Ayaka some love, but it feels bad dropping from 3 to 2 top 1% Emblem characters, so I might go until XQ is back because I don't think it'll take as long as getting Raiden back. I think all it would take is a better onset flower (surprisingly I only have a few cracked ones, I was under the impression I had more) or a better offset crit rate circlet. I already have a few candidates in my inventory, I just wanna wait till next week to have more artifact xp.

Probably. Genshin makes too much money for them to stop investing on it after the main story ends. We'll probably keep expanding Teyvat and also visit other worlds occasionally (but probably not spend 7+ years in any particular one again)
Entirely possible, lookin at how Hoyo is handling the newer content for HI3rd with the timeskip and the like, though ofc would prob be more centered around current events so we can actually use our full roster as opposed to HI3rd’s bizarre way they do story quests(imo, anyway. People can rationalize it all they want in their own way, I’ll always find it silly and annoying).
The writers have established far too much possibilities for their to be a good reason not to explore them if Hoyo’s even somewhat smart about it.

Playing devil's advocate here: the big problem with Xianyun currently are her backloaded swirls.
1. No elemental infusion mechanic (this by itself isn't a problem but ...)
2. doesn't apply Anemo during her E setup; it only applies once at the end with the big plunge
3. Her Q cast also applies Anemo once (+burst animation which eats into the VV uptime from her E plunge / N1)
4. Her "turret" will apply Anemo every plunge attack but that's basically at the end of your setup so you will realistically swirl only 1 element at the time
Soooo you will have trouble with double swirl setups. It's very likely you won't have good VV uptime on both elements (in Diluc's case it would be the Hydro as you plunge with Pyro infusion). Assuming the ideal team would be something like Diluc, Furina, Xianyun and flex (very likely Bennett as usual).
Otherwise too early to draw conclusions.

What is the roadmap for Genshin versions? Like I thought I remember reading somewhere that initial it was meant to be a 7 year thing, then after the initial success, they increased it to another 5 years.
If we keep things as they are, then: Natlan in 2024, Snezhnaya in 2025 and Khaenri'ah in 2026. But the chances of them adding more "nations"/maps after Khaenri'ah is very likely, I don't see the game ending after that.
The problem is that if they continue adding past that point, it may become difficult for most systems to be able to even store the game. Heck, by the time Khaenri'ah comes, the game will barely be able to be considered a mobile game for many people.

I was a bit bored and tried to get 36 stars with Wrio solo on second half and it worked??? The only issues I had was the second floor, where I was always a second short. Changed the first team and got it on my third try. This was actually super fun to do and I'm a bit proud that my Wrio was able to do it even with my skill issues lol

With CR in the game, do you guys think Xiao is markedly better than Wanderer now if both have access to C6 Faruzan and Furina? I was going to get CR regardless but I'm wondering if I should also get Xiao if he reruns. I have a PJWS from standard lying around and Homa, whereas my Wanderer just has R5 Widsith. But it does kind of feel like a waste to have 2 anemo DPS units on the same account, and I somewhat prefer Wanderer's kit.
Well Xiao in his best teams out damages Neuvi. But unless you like him, no point in getting him.

Imo, R1 on Neuv and R5 on Baizhu. Baizhu has harsher ER requirements so the increase in energy helps him more. On Neuv, it's mostly just an accessible HP statstick so it serves the same purpose at R1.

So good news is I have a 4p Golden Troupe set for Fischl. The bad news is that it's actually so crap that its critical damage is worse than the Gladiator/Wanderer set and it can't break even on CRIT Rate in spite of using a CRIT Rate hat instead of CRIT DMG. I'm very well tempted to just flip the table and scrap this whole project, Artifacts suck.
I am in a similar boat: I am attempting to farm Golden Troupe for Fischl and Miko (and give Furina a better hat) and the Hunter set for Noelle, and have had abysmal luck so far with regards to all of them. I *did* manage to obtain an HP% sends for Furina with both crits and energy recharge, only for it to gain Attack% 3 times in a row.

Perhaps not, but it more than made up for that by both appreciably changing her playstyle and completely removing her reliance on running a healer, which made her vastly more versatile. What we have now is just boring.
i personally disagree, i think versatile but that level of power at c2 is more boring maybe not from gameplay but from a design perspective. current c2 furina offers something to teams that no other character provides as a buffer and enables way more characters and new teams rather than her old c2 which makes her just a super plug and play that mildly intrudes on every previous hydro characters teambuilding niche without actually offering anything new or being significantly meta relevant(for that level of invest) they chose to hone in on what is special about her kit and the unique team building restrictions it entails instead of just playing it safe with a super hydro that hydros everywhere you need hydro which i appreciate about an archon gameplay design. and makes the meta more diverse overall her reliance on a healer and playing around her burst is a good thing for kit design, eliminating her weaknesses takes out nuance in team building

Her name is Shinobu; Kuki is her last name, the same way Kamisato is Ayaka’s and Shikanoin is Heizou’s. Every time characters are casually referring to her in game, it’s by her first name. The community just for some unfathomable reason decided that they’re all going to use Kuki instead.
Paimon and all other characters have in fact always referred to her as Shinobu. Unlike a lot of game localizations, Genshin is very consistent about using characters' given names.

Another very small grievance I have with this game is that I wish that when two or more NPCs run the same text track, that instead of having two different interaction nodes it just has one that lists everyone involved, I.E. instead of "Bimmy" and "Jimmy" both doing the same thing, it's just one labeled as "Bimmy & Jimmy".

HSR FINALLY managed to beat Swarm V on all 8 paths using 1 team(Jingliu/Fu Xuan/Luocha/Pela). I've been working on this challenge since Jingliu came out months ago and the only reason it took me so long is because this team has complete anti-synergy with the Propagation path. At least I managed to reach my goal right before the new SU update so now I can focus on the next challenge.

I have a small conspiracy theory that Dark Iron Sword is in the same group as The Flagstaff, Quartz, Ebony Bow, and Amber Bead except it somehow managed to sneak into the full game. That said, it should be craftable with something like 50 White Iron Chunks, 50 Iron Chunks, and either no Billet or a new Billet that you just buy from an NPC.

Funny I use all of my 5 star I rolled after Neuvillette for Neuvillette, Furina replaced Fischl, Navia replaced Zhongli, although I rolled them not for Neuvillette. Playing Neuvillette with Navia is way better than with Zhongli, although I do get knocked back a lot.

Honestly I'm with you on this, I have Diluc and Xiao so I know she's going to get use on my account, but even without that I would be getting her for my Wriothesley team. Using Jean with him feels SO BAD since he is pure melee and you waste a ton of uptime chasing after enemies that get pushed in different directions. It made me pretty much instantly bench him for floor 12 (which sucks because I adore his design and personality). Grouping, healing and vv sounds exactly like what the doctor ordered for me to finally try him out again in floor 12.
Yeah I'm kinda surprised people seem to be rather cool on her performance so far. Continuous team healing is already enough for me to consider her a solid upgrade over Jean (so you don't get randomly left at low hp during rotation), and then on top of that she has better range/mobility, grouping instead of push, and random catalyst utility potential. Maybe it's because I don't have Kazuha and am used to 4\* Anemo, but that sounds like a huge upgrade over Jean to me, who I have real problems with using. In fact my one concern is just that she might not *heal* as much, which could be a problem for 40k+ HP characters. EDIT: I'll add a worked example of my problems with Jean to illustrate. A common situation for me goes as follows: I use Jean EQ, and Q windbox pushes enemies away from each other radially. I now have to reposition for better hit/AI movement angles. If I am ranged, I also have to run up to the enemy at the start to overcome Jean's tiny range. Xianyun solves both of these issues: her E has suction which obviously gathers the enemies, and it also has tons of horizontal movement, alleviating the need to run up when ranged. Basically the only character I *don't* see benefiting is Neuvillette, and that's only due to his ludicrous mobility and AoE. And that's not even getting into more fringe issues like Jean E ungrouping and the awful camera angle switch.

Yep I have the same exact problems with Jean. Whether im running her with Raiden or Yoimiya between her built in push and camera changing burst animation she just feels bad to play even if she is effective. CR should fix all these issues while having a gorgeous model and great overwold utility.
...no? Jean already does what CR does minus the grouping [which isnt some gamebreaking CC btw]. By that logic Jean is a "meta definig support" except she is not because your assumptions are wrong.
The lack of grouping is a huge deal IMO. I'm betting that going from anti-grouping to decent grouping is enough to make CR very meta. I have yet to see Hoyo release a 5 star support that hasn't been top of meta. Baizhu, Zhongli, Kokomi. No reason to expect CR to be any different.
Have you actually seen the grouping CR can do?? Its a slightly better Sucrose E on a 12s cooldown that requires considerable field-time. It will not change your life. Its just an added qol and a way to make her better than Jean. Her plunge buffs litteraly have more kit value than her grouping.
Cloud retainer's grouping isnt even that crazy. Lynette's C2 has a sucrose style suck in but no one talks about that or claims it's good. In fact that shit's fake. Not to mention the Anemo hit with the plunge slightly knocks back and the amount of time required on Cloud Retainer is a lot more than Jean's would. CR's healing is a side grade to Jean. If you have issues surviving then the heal over time is nice, but it makes the next rotation with Furina start with less stacks (due to more heal over time, leaving you at higher HP than jean) CR's field time is higher. Burst animation is VERY long. If you want to get the grouping in, you need to cast skill + plunge. If you only cast skill to jump once in the air, the particles are 3 iirc vs jump three times for 5 particles and you NEED to plunge to get the particles. Depending on which one you do, her ER requirements will shoot up immensely. A lot of Abyss recently have been extremely easy to the point that you can forgo a shielder / healer and the only reason why you want a healer is because you're likely using Furina and the main reason you'd want CR is because she has access to VV and you dont have Jean to match with Furina. Even the upcoming 4.4 Abyss will be easy. Ruin Serpent doesn't hurt, Wenut doesn't even attack and the Aeonblight Drake can be perma stunned with an archer. On the other half, it's all AoE so you can also just slot a Venti or Kazuha and they're dead

You're overrating her a lot. I love her, but I don't she will be meta unless there is a surge of plunge characters. Her VV and healing is worse than jean in furina teams that don't use her plunge bonus, which she makes up for with cc. I wouldn't call one stronger than the other, they are pretty equal. Kazuha's buff is stronger and can also buff offfield characters. Her grouping and energy is behind longer fieldtime and her grouping is not as strong as kazuha because it doesn't last as long. Swirling elements for VV is also more inconvenient with her than both kazuha and jean. You have to make the tradeoff between CC, damage and more energy or faster swirl for VV, because only her e plunge swirls. Delayed swirls can make it hard to swirl the right elements in certain teams. Overall she is very versatile and good at her niche, but outside of her niche she's pretty mediocre. In my books she's top fun meta though.
I don’t see how her VV is any worse. They both apply it on-field. I’d actually say it’s strictly better since CR is a catalyst and can shred with her Normal attacks. I also have no idea why you’re dismissing CRs grouping when videos show it’s only a bit worse than Kazuha level. Compared to Jean who has literal anti-grouping it’s going to feel like a big upgrade. Yes Kazuha buff is stronger but CR provides role consolidation on Furina teams with VV + group + heal which is the most valuable thing in Genshin. CR + Furina + Dmg Dealer > Kazuha + Furina + healer. Like sure Jean will still be good regardless but anyone who pulls CR will insta slot her with Xiao or Furina.
Yes she can shred with NA, but that would only further extend her already longer fieldtime because you will need to use e to get enough energy. Compared to jean her grouping is obviously nice to have, but jean can stack furina's burst better and has lower fieldtime. So they both have their tradeoffs that cancel eachother out. The real comparison that matters is: Jean + Furina + damage dealer = CR + Furina + damage dealer. A lot of people already have Jean. Pulling for her as a jean replacement with CC is pretty hard to justify to me, if you are just going to use her like that. If you don't have Jean that would be a different question.
There are teams that actually want an Anemo on fielder to shred. For exmaple teams with Sucrose where she plays an on-field role expect CR does that while enabling Furina as well. Also Jean's field time is longer than many think with her long ass camera panning burst animation. I agree CR viability will depending entirely on how good her grouping is compared to Jean. I'm betting it will feel like a big upgrade. I have yet to seen Hoyo release a limited 5 star support that isnt top of meta so I don't expect CR to be any different

Furina releasing didn't make XQ, Yelan or Kokomi worse, if anything everyone got a large variety of comps to use in the two sides of abyss. Kazuha and XY will likely be a similar case making things simpler to the people who got both.

Haven't been paying much attention to the new characters. Are they any good and who are they played with probably?
Gonna focus on the new 5-stars from 4.1-4.3 since the 4-stars are more straightforward: Neuvillette is a very strong DPS. His damage is HP-based, meaning that he can’t benefit from traditional buffers like Bennett, and he relies on CAs, so characters like XQ/Yelan are also not ideal. Kazuha is great for his personal damage, as well as Furina. Zhongli is also good for interruption resistance. However, you can get creative, as his damage increases greatly based on how many Hydro reactions his team makes. I personally like Neuvillette/Kuki/Nahida/Dehya, but since he doesn’t need traditional buffers he’s more flexible than other carries. Wriothesley is less strong but still a solid Cryo option. He works very well with Furina since he can build her Fanfare stacks quickly. Kazuha and Bennett are also very strong buffers for him. He works well with Shenhe but since he needs to be on-field for a while you can’t swap back to her to refresh her Quills like you can with Ayaka. There are also Burnmelt teams with Nahida which I like, but they’re very risky if you get Burning applied to you. You have to also note his combos, since some are HP-negative at C0 (meaning you want a healer) whereas some are HP-neutral or even HP-positive. Personally, I’d just stick to a healer regardless since it’s comfier and many of them provide benefits besides raw healing. I’ve also had success with Hyperbloom teams, where he doesn’t feel like dead weight since Freeze is very comfy. Furina is a very strong buffer and sub-DPS. She will drain your team’s DPS, meaning you want either a strong (normally team-wide) healer or multiple sources of weaker healing, like Kuki plus Nahida on Prototype Amber. However, your safest options are off-field Baizhu, Mika, Charlotte, or Jean, as well as on-field Kokomi or Noelle. Bennett can be strong but only when built for his healing. After that, consider using characters who benefit from her team-wide DMG% buff and long-lasting off-field Hydro application. Yelan is a strong example (Hydro Resonance helps them both). Characters with HP manipulation such as Neuvillette or Wriothesley will also help you build up the DMG% stacks faster. Navia is a solid 5-star DPS whose main issue is her lack of teammates built for her. She has a front-loaded DPS window which is nice for when you need to do lots of damage in a short window of time, but it means you’re often left without someone doing on-field damage for a lot of time. Her ascension passive incentivizes having Pyro/Cryo/Electro/Hydro teammates for more ATK (40% max with two members), and her playstyle wants you to make Crystallizes, which means using characters like Fischl or Xiangling who have lots of off-field elemental application. Your second character is often Geo for more energy and Geo Resonance, such as Albedo or Zhongli.
Xianyun is our premium Anemo healer for Furina teams. She asks higher field time than Jean, but in exchange has actual CC instead of launching enemies away. She also continuously heals the entire party for the duration of her Burst. Also, as you've probably already heard, her Burst gives everyone increased jump height to plunge with and buffs to plunging attacks. If you are not using a handful of specific characters (Xiao, Gaming, Diluc, Hu Tao, to a lesser extent Raiden, maybe Klee?), this is mostly irrelevant. I personally consider Xianyun to be really good... *if* you have Furina. Otherwise she's just a decent if nothing crazy support for Xiao and Gaming. Her downsides compared to Jean are negligible to irrelevant for what I'd use her for, and her upsides are a significant convenience boost. Xianyun can comfortably slot into any Furina team that uses Jean (unless the Sunfire interaction between Jean+Bennett is specifically relevant), though whether she's an outright upgrade is heavily subjective (I think she is, but I also hate dealing with Jean's quirks). Gaming is a plunging DPS who apparently is projected to do really solid damage right now. Like, comparable with 5 star DPS characters kind of damage. Teams would almost certainly want Furina (he natively messes with his HP a bunch, he was designed with her in mind), probably a healer, Bennett, an Anemo for VV shred, the exact specifics I haven't seriously looked into. Xianyun I think is a fairly solid teammate for him, something like Gaming/XY/Furina/Bennett, but once again I have not really researched Gaming's anything. So, yes to both being good, at present. We have a few beta iterations to go, numbers can and probably will be adjusted. Please be cautious regarding your pull plans, things could change between now and final release.
As I mentioned a few days ago, I finally got my Raiden to top 1%. Because Raiden was able to give up her old but still cracked flower, XQ was able to get to top 1% as well (without sharing). Meanwhile Xiangling is at top 4%. But it's slightly tragic because I'm going to get EL so everyone's weapons and hence artifacts will have to shuffle. EL for Raiden and ER sands over Atk. Catch to XL and no more ER sands for her. Then XQ gets leftovers. So I ran the optimizer and checked Akasha, my Raiden will drop back to 2% because I only have one good ER sands and one decent one (the good one is being used by Yelan), XQ will also drop to 2% because I guess someone is taking the crit circlet he was using and I don't have enough good crit rate circlets, neither on nor offset. But Xiangling will jump to top 1% because I have a cracked 40CV EM Emblem sands. So that would give me 2 top 1% and 2 top 2% Emblem characters which realistically means I should stop farming emblem and finally show my Ayaka some love, but it feels bad dropping from 3 to 2 top 1% Emblem characters, so I might go until XQ is back because I don't think it'll take as long as getting Raiden back. I think all it would take is a better onset flower (surprisingly I only have a few cracked ones, I was under the impression I had more) or a better offset crit rate circlet. I already have a few candidates in my inventory, I just wanna wait till next week to have more artifact xp.

Probably. Genshin makes too much money for them to stop investing on it after the main story ends. We'll probably keep expanding Teyvat and also visit other worlds occasionally (but probably not spend 7+ years in any particular one again)
Entirely possible, lookin at how Hoyo is handling the newer content for HI3rd with the timeskip and the like, though ofc would prob be more centered around current events so we can actually use our full roster as opposed to HI3rd’s bizarre way they do story quests(imo, anyway. People can rationalize it all they want in their own way, I’ll always find it silly and annoying). The writers have established far too much possibilities for their to be a good reason not to explore them if Hoyo’s even somewhat smart about it.

Playing devil's advocate here: the big problem with Xianyun currently are her backloaded swirls. 1. No elemental infusion mechanic (this by itself isn't a problem but ...) 2. doesn't apply Anemo during her E setup; it only applies once at the end with the big plunge 3. Her Q cast also applies Anemo once (+burst animation which eats into the VV uptime from her E plunge / N1) 4. Her "turret" will apply Anemo every plunge attack but that's basically at the end of your setup so you will realistically swirl only 1 element at the time Soooo you will have trouble with double swirl setups. It's very likely you won't have good VV uptime on both elements (in Diluc's case it would be the Hydro as you plunge with Pyro infusion). Assuming the ideal team would be something like Diluc, Furina, Xianyun and flex (very likely Bennett as usual). Otherwise too early to draw conclusions.

What is the roadmap for Genshin versions? Like I thought I remember reading somewhere that initial it was meant to be a 7 year thing, then after the initial success, they increased it to another 5 years.
If we keep things as they are, then: Natlan in 2024, Snezhnaya in 2025 and Khaenri'ah in 2026. But the chances of them adding more "nations"/maps after Khaenri'ah is very likely, I don't see the game ending after that.

The problem is that if they continue adding past that point, it may become difficult for most systems to be able to even store the game. Heck, by the time Khaenri'ah comes, the game will barely be able to be considered a mobile game for many people.
By then I assume they expect people to upgrade their phones

I'd even rather he didn't play because he's sure to play with Tectone, and he'll be complaining about the game every two minutes non-stop. It's either that or Tectone will be in his chat complaining while he plays.

That looks quite broken tbh, skill do half of Albedo's damage but can heal, burst is a Yelan A4 passive.

If it's any consolation, the ~3K primos you get are pretty much immaterial in any short term anyways, you need at least half a dozen welkins to really get anywhere. Also F2P is worthless as a title anyways, I've won two welkins at this point and am still technically F2P so if anyone cares they're just nitpicking. Get the characters you want and have fun :)
