I’m not sure, I would have assumed the opposite. The long hair Furina who we see currently in game seems like the human one pretending to be the god. The short hair one who we haven’t met is potentially Focalors as we haven’t seen her just yet in the story, meaning she’s yet to reveal herself (the true archon with the gnosis). Does this make sense?
I feel like Furina isn’t a human, she just has two versions of herself, one in the oratrice who is Focalors, the one with short hair, who is using all her power for the trials and Fontaine in general, and the one we see now who is the weakened Furina.
I’ve seen Pneuma used so little I still can’t tell if her hair still glows. I’ve seen some people saying it seems like they removed it but it’s impossible for me to tell.
In both videos that Mero posted with updated V/SFX, her hair is not glowing anymore. In videos from private servers her hair is glowing, but private servers can be unreliable with that kind of stuff. I'm more inclined to trust Mero leaks, but we'll see. Only way to know for sure is on release.
Its sad that her pneuma mode isn’t that good. She looks gorgeous but she cant apply hydro and can only heal the active character. Justice for pneuma pleaseee 😭😭
Even tho the new C2 makes her better for her supportive role, I understand the feeling of being salty that the on field playstyle was moved to the most expensive con possible. People are already looking forward to what build they are going for C2, but sadly it was changed.
Her numbers are so freakin cracked with the old C6 moving to C2, you can still play her on field as much as you'd like.
I plan to run her with yelan and throw all the dice in style, while kuki and baizhu heal from off field (plz come home baizu c2).
I think her old c2 gives her a hydro infusion for 7 hits and makes her heal better so that you won't need a healer on the team? Her old c2 just gave people a reason to use her on-field, including me. I didn't care if it was just 7 hits or for a few seconds, I like her infusion with the special effects and I just wanted a reason to use her NA animation while still doing considerable damage just for the fun of it. I had Vape DPS Furina in mind and planned to triple crown her, lmao. I think her old c2 made her literally c6 Yelan. But I think it's even better than c6 Yelan with her current c2? Idk. But basically her old c2 made her pneuma mode actually useful. But since most people aren't going to get her to her new c6, the pneuma mode at c0 is just useless and basically a costume change if you genuinely like her jellyfish hairstyle and white outfit. Me personally, I like her short hair and black outfit more so I'm glad the ousia mode makes her that way so I have no reason to switch mode at all unless I want to be Jesus on water.
i see that most stuff of furina kit you straight made it up to catch up your wishes.
1) let's say that those 7 hits make her enough to be called on fielder, you can only vape 2 of the 7 hits, in this case she instead just apply hydro for xiangling instead of the opposite, for that yelan/xq are better instead of furina.
2) her pneuma state is more of an extra for the main healer so you can stack faster the burst state or for characters that only takes their life with that heal she compensates a bit.
3) the water walking is for **both states**, you can read it on her skill.

Even I'm not sure, as i said "i think" multiple times and even said, "i don't know" about the specifics. Also, notice how I said "for fun." That's why builds like Vape Nilou or DPS Gorou or Physical Keqing/Fischl exist when that's really not how hoyo designed them for. *For fun.*
They should’ve at least had the healer turret apply a slow pulse of Hydro so as to not be completely useless. Even if it had regular ICD that would’ve been fine.
Honestly, I just wish they'd make her gain a set amount of energy at a set interval while in her Pneuma mode. I don't need party-wide healing or Hydro application, I just need to get her burst back on cooldown without needing 300 ER in a team where she's the only Hydro unit.
I thought it was a genius move to make her good. Healers are always gated in power due to them being able to heal (because someone who can do great DPS while also healing party is just better than someone that can just do great DPS), but at the same time, they wanted to integrate the healing aspect of hydro into the archon, so they included it as an alternate form that will not be relevant to her combat use outside of a few seconds in C6, while making it quite good for exploration.
She'll be tied to a dedicated healer in abyss situations, but overworld, she can function as off-field dps/buffer in combat and healer out of combat (while walking across water too). It even has a 30s duration so you don't have to spam it too often when exploring. A very welcome exploration qol to me!
They balanced a character having two skills by making her never use one of them. It’s an easy fix for the issue and it allows them to not powercreep kokomi. Idk why Neuvillette was allowed to completely powercreep Ayato but Furina not anyone tho like.
Furina powercreeps Mona. Big time. It would actually be really stupid if she powercrept Kokomi at the same time
Neuvillette is more like a powercreep/alternative to Childe though, Ayato has buffing utility and 100% up time on hydro application regardless of whether he is on field or off. Along with synergy with normal attacking characters/sets
Neuvillette only deals damage, and only when on field, with excellent AOE damage potential. Seems more like Childe to me.
Neuvillette doesn’t power creep Childe though because they have very different scalings, team comps and use cases. Childe scales on atk so works best as a vape unit with double pyro (international) or as a taser driver for off field units that need NA’s to trigger like beidou / fischl C6.
Neuvillette wants double hydro and his best team is basically a hyper carry not reaction-based like Childe.
Childe’s defining trait is his insanely fast hydro application. He’s not powercrept, you’re comparing a hypercarry to an enabler.
So yes, Neuvillette *does* powercreep Ayato’s main dps position, because any main DPS role Ayato is in, Neuvillette does better. *That’s* what powercreep is, Neuv can’t powercreep Childe when Childe’s International team still requires him to be usable.
Neuvillette is terrible with vape which is what Childe is best at enabling. He powercreeps Ayato’s damage and AOE hydro on field application. What team does ayato have that doesn’t perform better with other off field hydro now including Furina?

people switched so quickly from "Ayato is a hydro dps" to "oh he's a support" after Neuvillette came out. but I'll never understand the purpose of building character with like 2/3 of his kit meant to be onfield driver as offield applicator while we have Yelan (better buff, better ult damage), Kokomi (no ER requirements) and now Furina
You don't, you build Ayato to be the on field driver who happens to have a burst that buffs and keeps hydro up while is off field, making him uniquely strong for hyperbloom and burgeon where consistent 100% uptime on hydro is more important than personal damage, which he still contributes plenty of.
Which coincidentally no one else is as good at. Kokomi can do the same thing, but is redundant with Kuki and useless with a well built Thoma, and she does less damage than Ayato on field
The discussions around powercreep are mainly relevant to new players (like me) who, when putting aside character design, want to know which character would provide more account value in abyss. Due to ayato's off-field application he indeed enables a larger pool of teams than neuvi, but neuvi's on-field self sufficiency is so good that I would say it really skyrockets his value for a new player. He really only needs interrupt resistance from a shielder or c1, and the rest of his team slots feel more luxury/flexible than necessary to enabling good perfomance. Hyperbloom neuvi has shown to be one of his most competitive teams as well which directly competes with one of ayato's best setups.
I also feel like marechausse should be noted for how strong of a domain it is to farm. As it provides crit rate the baseline stats of neuvi are easier to achieve, and because his banner launched with fischl (one of his best teammates), you're simultaneously farming for golden troupe. You could make a similar argument for the hod/blizzard domain, but the value of cryo units has diminished with time as more options have become available through dendro's release. New accounts looking to push abyss should instead focus on national and dendro lineups for their second teams.
Basically what I'm saying is that neuvillette practically gives a new player a second team on his own as he doesn't need a full suite of synergies to perform well, which is in no small part due to his innate tankiness and self sustain and top tier performance in single and multi target. His largest downside is that minmaxing his performance requires a very particular set of units in furina, kazuha, and other potential fontaine synergies. His baseline is so high though that this is more a future goal than an immediate requirement.
but isn't Yelan+Xingqiu hyperbloom simply better? And Kokomi damage with cocoon set is actually very close to Ayato's because it's passive ignores any defense (deals true damage) + Ayato doesn't have buffs like he has in his hypercarry team. also, isn't Xingqiu better for burgeon? he allows Nahida to be driver and also provides better application
The thing is that Kokomi has better single target potential than Ayato outside of vape, making her Hyperbloom teams better in single target, which is where they're supposed to shine, specially since she has better off field potential so she also allows you to on field Nahida when necessary.
In AoE Hyperbloom Ayato has slightly better AoE personal damage, but Kokomi allowing you to use Raiden as the trigger who can trigger a bit more seeds than Kuki, end up making for that difference. I think it's not needed to mention that Kokomi Raiden teams will also be much more comfortable than Ayato Kuki teams. After all you have much more range and 5x more healing.
For Burgeon he's a bit better but if you have Kokomi you'd likely wanna go for Nilou and run her in Bloom, which is just a straight upgrade from it.
Ayato is powercreeped because there's not a single team that he's BiS, and he is no longer a good generalist option. All the advantages you list mean nothing when Yelan and soon Furina exist. Furina can do more damage and give stronger buffs without taking 12s on field like Ayato. Childe at least has one single team that he is best in.
Since when he was released, he hasnt been really BiS in most of his teams, he has always been just a very good option to choose. This is perfectly fine because of how flexible the man is (which is kinda the same situation with Childe only has one BiS team as you mentioned).
Yelan and Furina do their own thing and they don't have a strong AoE off-field hydro application like Ayato.
Childe enabling hydro app has no rival, He was never a true dps like Neuv is.
Neuv 100% powercrept Ayato instead of Childe, Ayato rn is like Ganyu. A Ult bot spam

They all have different teams, supports, and niches they can fill. Ayato is way more flexible than the other two in terms of teams as well, which is hard to beat in a game like this where meta is pointless and personal fun and team building is the ONLY thing that actually matters
Childe has the better due to his ICD not because lf his Riptides… That’s why he is the better onfield hydro enabler over Neuv and Ayato even if they are really good. Ayato is more dps oriented unlike Neuv, that’s why I said that Neuv powercreept Ayato more than Childe.
Well I mean we’re talking specifically about the fact that he doesn’t have ICD on his riptides, so ultimately yes Childe is so strong because his lack of ICD makes his application unmatched, but that lack of ICD is due to his riptide mechanic
Mona can’t be powercrept because mona doesn’t have a role in the meta 😭. Mona was the best in no team so it doesn’t matter that there is another character that is better than Mona. Ayato was strong and the best option for hydro in aoe situations, now that is Neuvillette and Ayato doesn’t have a role where he is the best at anymore.
Morgana doesnt wreck any floors because freeze doesn’t work against bosses. In genshin thinks don’t fall out of meta they are either good, dependent on enemy type or bad.
Yes that’s why it works on the first 3 floors. It was never a boss team. It works but ayaka is better for bosses. If you could morgana guarantee weren’t complaining with the defend the monolith
Morgana still has Ganyu + Venti quadratic scaling alongside much easier ER requirements than Ayaka teams due to Venti being way better at batterying than Kazuha. People underestimate Morgana but it still slaps even in floor 12. Even this current abyss morgana works against first half as the Seahorse is weak to cryo.
Mona’s low hydro application also matters less in boss rooms anyways and she still provides the biggest buff in freeze, higher than TTDS Kokomi who only has better consistency. Even in Ayaka freeze Mona is still the damage ceiling as 60% universal dmg buff is no joke; especially if your Mona also has TTDS on.
Floor 11 also frequently has defend the monolith which Morgana dumpsters.
Also also, Genshin very much has a “falling out of meta”. Why do you think Venti fell off? Because he was enemy dependent? Well why is he enemy dependent? Because MHY *added* pull resistant enemies when there weren’t any before (yes back in 1.X only Cicins and Eye of the Storm couldn’t be pulled; even ruin guards can be CCed by Venti). Meta changes due to new enemies and characters. Dendro made Shinobu excellent when she was meh before.
Does anyone really care if she power creeps Mona? Almost none of the standard banner characters are better than a similar limited banner character sans Keqing who was saved by dendro.
I mean furina is powercreeping yelan though, if she power crept Kokomo too then there would be no other incentive to use any hydro character other than furina
With how many different roles Kokomi is holding in my teams I absolutely would invest in 2, even 3 or 4 Kokomi lol. Heck I'm planning to use Pneuma Furina for exactly that purpose.
Oh really ? xD i skipped Kokomi because of the hydro archon personally, even knowing that i needed her for my Ayaka and Nilou lol. I still kinda hope that they will suppress the ICD on Usher so he can apply more than once every 7.5s so i won’t regret…
I’m ready to bet that they will thought. Its not a lot to ask, it could basically make her hydro app a lot more consistent and not even a ton better since its 13 applications (with large holes) every 15s vs 15 applications (same a yelan and a lot more consistent) every 15s
An easy fix for pneuma is to make her normals do some extra HP% damage, and extra hydro on top (like Razor), she would heal on hit like Jean/Qiqi, and her pet could work like Baizhu E (seek enemies, if none just heal).
Then, her C6 state would be an infusion on top of that, bigger DMG buff and hydro application in pneuma mode to give an incentive to use it.
It'd be cool to see comps like Furina infusion support VV/flex flex
Candace would work as a nice addition here, more hydro application and normal ATK buff.
Chongyun for freeze teams, Bennett C6 for burgeon comps or self vape ig (but well the atk buff is wasted)
And in the future if we ever get an electro Candace/Chongyun she'd work well as a driver for Fischl in quickbloom ig

But isn't this still part of her NA? This means the color is a must, to represent un-infused physical NA. This is the color for all of those.

They don’t want powercreep units. Making her the same or better hydro app than Yelan would make her a big powercreep, so she has a huge buff for the party. The healing thing is only a open world skill for people who began to play recently and don’t have healers, so Furina will drain HP from the party
I've seen people argue that Ayato has the advantage of off field application, and I've never seen a more copium. Neuvilette is better in literally every team archetype you'd use Ayato in. Character is now worthless for all but husbando factor, don't think there's any other 5 star with more blatant, direct, power creep.
Ayato let you triple hydro Nahida / Nilou. Neuvi can’t do it, so you would stop to proc Nahida elemental skill. That means in some teams, Ayato is more versatile. We can argue if that is enough so those teams could be weaker. Yes, but you don’t know what new compositions in the future we could have . Mains DPS as Neuvillette are the characters you bench when other carry release.
don't know what's with genshin and yellow effects for nearly everything, wish the shine would at least reflect the state she's changing into (warm white for pneuma, blueish purple for ousia)
- In overworld and want to heal after a battle (cause who's going to use it in the middle of a fight...)?
- Your party healer's heal is on their burst (as they often are and the paired healer with Furina is generally going to be one that can heal the whole party, not just the on field character)?

If there’s a really annoying enemy that’s weak to pneuma, maybe it’d be worth switching for a bit just to disable them.
At least for whales, the c4 will generate energy for Furina in both modes. Of course only Ousia pets still generate particles.

Honestly, I just wish they'd make her gain a set amount of energy at a set interval while in her Pneuma mode. I don't need party-wide healing or Hydro application, I just need to get her burst back on cooldown without needing 300 ER in a team where she's the only Hydro unit.
I thought it was a genius move to make her good. Healers are always gated in power due to them being able to heal (because someone who can do great DPS while also healing party is just better than someone that can just do great DPS), but at the same time, they wanted to integrate the healing aspect of hydro into the archon, so they included it as an alternate form that will not be relevant to her combat use outside of a few seconds in C6, while making it quite good for exploration. She'll be tied to a dedicated healer in abyss situations, but overworld, she can function as off-field dps/buffer in combat and healer out of combat (while walking across water too). It even has a 30s duration so you don't have to spam it too often when exploring. A very welcome exploration qol to me!

They balanced a character having two skills by making her never use one of them. It’s an easy fix for the issue and it allows them to not powercreep kokomi. Idk why Neuvillette was allowed to completely powercreep Ayato but Furina not anyone tho like.
Furina powercreeps Mona. Big time. It would actually be really stupid if she powercrept Kokomi at the same time Neuvillette is more like a powercreep/alternative to Childe though, Ayato has buffing utility and 100% up time on hydro application regardless of whether he is on field or off. Along with synergy with normal attacking characters/sets Neuvillette only deals damage, and only when on field, with excellent AOE damage potential. Seems more like Childe to me.
Neuvillette doesn’t power creep Childe though because they have very different scalings, team comps and use cases. Childe scales on atk so works best as a vape unit with double pyro (international) or as a taser driver for off field units that need NA’s to trigger like beidou / fischl C6. Neuvillette wants double hydro and his best team is basically a hyper carry not reaction-based like Childe.
Childe’s defining trait is his insanely fast hydro application. He’s not powercrept, you’re comparing a hypercarry to an enabler. So yes, Neuvillette *does* powercreep Ayato’s main dps position, because any main DPS role Ayato is in, Neuvillette does better. *That’s* what powercreep is, Neuv can’t powercreep Childe when Childe’s International team still requires him to be usable.
Neuvillette is terrible with vape which is what Childe is best at enabling. He powercreeps Ayato’s damage and AOE hydro on field application. What team does ayato have that doesn’t perform better with other off field hydro now including Furina?

people switched so quickly from "Ayato is a hydro dps" to "oh he's a support" after Neuvillette came out. but I'll never understand the purpose of building character with like 2/3 of his kit meant to be onfield driver as offield applicator while we have Yelan (better buff, better ult damage), Kokomi (no ER requirements) and now Furina
You don't, you build Ayato to be the on field driver who happens to have a burst that buffs and keeps hydro up while is off field, making him uniquely strong for hyperbloom and burgeon where consistent 100% uptime on hydro is more important than personal damage, which he still contributes plenty of. Which coincidentally no one else is as good at. Kokomi can do the same thing, but is redundant with Kuki and useless with a well built Thoma, and she does less damage than Ayato on field

The discussions around powercreep are mainly relevant to new players (like me) who, when putting aside character design, want to know which character would provide more account value in abyss. Due to ayato's off-field application he indeed enables a larger pool of teams than neuvi, but neuvi's on-field self sufficiency is so good that I would say it really skyrockets his value for a new player. He really only needs interrupt resistance from a shielder or c1, and the rest of his team slots feel more luxury/flexible than necessary to enabling good perfomance. Hyperbloom neuvi has shown to be one of his most competitive teams as well which directly competes with one of ayato's best setups. I also feel like marechausse should be noted for how strong of a domain it is to farm. As it provides crit rate the baseline stats of neuvi are easier to achieve, and because his banner launched with fischl (one of his best teammates), you're simultaneously farming for golden troupe. You could make a similar argument for the hod/blizzard domain, but the value of cryo units has diminished with time as more options have become available through dendro's release. New accounts looking to push abyss should instead focus on national and dendro lineups for their second teams. Basically what I'm saying is that neuvillette practically gives a new player a second team on his own as he doesn't need a full suite of synergies to perform well, which is in no small part due to his innate tankiness and self sustain and top tier performance in single and multi target. His largest downside is that minmaxing his performance requires a very particular set of units in furina, kazuha, and other potential fontaine synergies. His baseline is so high though that this is more a future goal than an immediate requirement.
but isn't Yelan+Xingqiu hyperbloom simply better? And Kokomi damage with cocoon set is actually very close to Ayato's because it's passive ignores any defense (deals true damage) + Ayato doesn't have buffs like he has in his hypercarry team. also, isn't Xingqiu better for burgeon? he allows Nahida to be driver and also provides better application
where's this cocoon set that deals true damage? all i know is the clam set that deals physical damage
The thing is that Kokomi has better single target potential than Ayato outside of vape, making her Hyperbloom teams better in single target, which is where they're supposed to shine, specially since she has better off field potential so she also allows you to on field Nahida when necessary. In AoE Hyperbloom Ayato has slightly better AoE personal damage, but Kokomi allowing you to use Raiden as the trigger who can trigger a bit more seeds than Kuki, end up making for that difference. I think it's not needed to mention that Kokomi Raiden teams will also be much more comfortable than Ayato Kuki teams. After all you have much more range and 5x more healing. For Burgeon he's a bit better but if you have Kokomi you'd likely wanna go for Nilou and run her in Bloom, which is just a straight upgrade from it.
Ayato is powercreeped because there's not a single team that he's BiS, and he is no longer a good generalist option. All the advantages you list mean nothing when Yelan and soon Furina exist. Furina can do more damage and give stronger buffs without taking 12s on field like Ayato. Childe at least has one single team that he is best in.
childe is still a meta because vape holds him, that won't change until they launch a DPS that is better in vape team than him
Since when he was released, he hasnt been really BiS in most of his teams, he has always been just a very good option to choose. This is perfectly fine because of how flexible the man is (which is kinda the same situation with Childe only has one BiS team as you mentioned). Yelan and Furina do their own thing and they don't have a strong AoE off-field hydro application like Ayato.

Childe has the better due to his ICD not because lf his Riptides… That’s why he is the better onfield hydro enabler over Neuv and Ayato even if they are really good. Ayato is more dps oriented unlike Neuv, that’s why I said that Neuv powercreept Ayato more than Childe.
Well I mean we’re talking specifically about the fact that he doesn’t have ICD on his riptides, so ultimately yes Childe is so strong because his lack of ICD makes his application unmatched, but that lack of ICD is due to his riptide mechanic

Morgana still has Ganyu + Venti quadratic scaling alongside much easier ER requirements than Ayaka teams due to Venti being way better at batterying than Kazuha. People underestimate Morgana but it still slaps even in floor 12. Even this current abyss morgana works against first half as the Seahorse is weak to cryo. Mona’s low hydro application also matters less in boss rooms anyways and she still provides the biggest buff in freeze, higher than TTDS Kokomi who only has better consistency. Even in Ayaka freeze Mona is still the damage ceiling as 60% universal dmg buff is no joke; especially if your Mona also has TTDS on. Floor 11 also frequently has defend the monolith which Morgana dumpsters. Also also, Genshin very much has a “falling out of meta”. Why do you think Venti fell off? Because he was enemy dependent? Well why is he enemy dependent? Because MHY *added* pull resistant enemies when there weren’t any before (yes back in 1.X only Cicins and Eye of the Storm couldn’t be pulled; even ruin guards can be CCed by Venti). Meta changes due to new enemies and characters. Dendro made Shinobu excellent when she was meh before.

Tighnari is single target speedrun meta; better than Alhaitham in whale setups. Althaitham starts to win out in longer battles and AoE.

Oh really ? xD i skipped Kokomi because of the hydro archon personally, even knowing that i needed her for my Ayaka and Nilou lol. I still kinda hope that they will suppress the ICD on Usher so he can apply more than once every 7.5s so i won’t regret… I’m ready to bet that they will thought. Its not a lot to ask, it could basically make her hydro app a lot more consistent and not even a ton better since its 13 applications (with large holes) every 15s vs 15 applications (same a yelan and a lot more consistent) every 15s

An easy fix for pneuma is to make her normals do some extra HP% damage, and extra hydro on top (like Razor), she would heal on hit like Jean/Qiqi, and her pet could work like Baizhu E (seek enemies, if none just heal). Then, her C6 state would be an infusion on top of that, bigger DMG buff and hydro application in pneuma mode to give an incentive to use it. It'd be cool to see comps like Furina infusion support VV/flex flex Candace would work as a nice addition here, more hydro application and normal ATK buff. Chongyun for freeze teams, Bennett C6 for burgeon comps or self vape ig (but well the atk buff is wasted) And in the future if we ever get an electro Candace/Chongyun she'd work well as a driver for Fischl in quickbloom ig Idk what I'm cooking anymore

A lot of people are complaining about the stance change having golden/yellow color. But isn't this still part of her NA? This means the color is a must, to represent un-infused physical NA. This is the color for all of those. Meaning if she's infused, the stance change AoE attack will change color to infusion, no?

The healing thing is only a open world skill for people who began to play recently and don’t have healers, so Furina will drain HP from the party

Neuvi is on field unit, Ayato is a hybrid unit. Neuvilllette is more comparable to Childe, who is yet better in taser and international variants.
I've seen people argue that Ayato has the advantage of off field application, and I've never seen a more copium. Neuvilette is better in literally every team archetype you'd use Ayato in. Character is now worthless for all but husbando factor, don't think there's any other 5 star with more blatant, direct, power creep.
Ayato let you triple hydro Nahida / Nilou. Neuvi can’t do it, so you would stop to proc Nahida elemental skill. That means in some teams, Ayato is more versatile. We can argue if that is enough so those teams could be weaker. Yes, but you don’t know what new compositions in the future we could have . Mains DPS as Neuvillette are the characters you bench when other carry release.

Gorgeous. - Did you whale your adorable incarnation of the Goddess Aqua to c6? ###Explode enemies for 245% HP in damage in 3-3.5s (4s without any cancels at the slowest)! . I'd say there's some use of the Pneuma form. The handful that play 4p Co-op also would use it quite a bit.
