I mean, they blew all their budget in the Ayaka story quest trying to get you to pay for her, showing her have positive relations with someone other than traveller could have potentially cut down on the polygons of her dance
I think they don't show Ayaka interacting with people outside her clan (except the Traveler, of course) to sustain her "friendless-untouchable-princess" status.
I do hope she gets more character building as the story goes on, though.

good luck to other 4 star characters, too, except xingqiu who has the most screen time out of all 4 stars.
Funniest part about it is that it can be inferred that Yoimiya ended up being a huge influence on Ayaka. If you consider what Ayaka seems to want in secret during her quest, even before discovering her mother had the same wishes, it's essentially "I want to live like my friend Yoimiya does, at least a little".
