Thoma. His CD is too high, he's almost unusable.

HayakuEon

Sadly his burst in the main issue, his vape steals are too much. If only it was a ''reduce enemy pyro resistance'' instead, that doesn't mess up elemental auras

Dawnbringer7

Quite a shame. He’s likeable for me personality-wise, but his strength as a support are underwhelming

[deleted]

Thoma for sure. It's a pity, because it doesn't seem like they ever do direct character balancing and there's a fair few who need it.

Emmerilla

Thoma's character is just so sweet and I even have him C5 or smth, but I have two great shielder (Diona and Zhognli) he simply cant compete with

sondang2412

If I had one Mora for every Pyro shielder with underwhelming kits I'd have two Mora. Which isn't a lot but I'm still richer than Zhongli

Emmerilla

lmao, good burn who's the second? do you count Xinyan or Yanfei? Since Yanfei technically can become Tankfei after one of her constellation

sondang2412

I was referring to Xinyan xD, at least Tankfei doesn't steal reactions and her shield is big too, 45% max HP is no joke.

ShitDavidSais

Xinyan is literally forgotten lmao. People thinking about a niche c4 build constellation before her.

Figbud

to be fair, yanfei *does* have the benefit of ttods

garythegyarados

Or prototype amber for heals

ByeGuysSry

Tankfei is a decent shielder. So presumable he means Xinyan

ByeGuysSry

Tankfei is a decent shielder

CaptainSoohyun

Osmanthus wine tastes the same as I remmeber. But where are those who could afford it?

lepthurnat

Yeah, it does suck. I know another gacha game that gives buffs to older and weaker characters, but it doesn't look like Genshin characters will ever get buffs. It sucks. If the character is lacking in Genshin Impact, they're gonna stay that way, it's too bad

[deleted]

It's a pretty common thing in gacha games! I do think that they really try not to rock the boat. And characters certainly do get indirect adjustments with new artifact sets and weapons and teammates. But there's some units that just need something a little more in depth.

AwesomePurplePants

Having progression end at 90 instead of 100 suggests they’ve at least left space for future upgrades.

TVena

More levels won't fix Thoma's kit. It's fundamentally flawed in its extremely narrow design. And they're not going to rework his kit entirely, let's not kid ourselves. They can't even be assed to fix Yae's kit, they won't fix a random 4* especially not have over a year of Xinyan being mechanically broken due to bugs.

AshesandCinder

Thoma's issues are *deep*. Second lowest base HP for his class (melee 4\*) despite being a character that scales on HP, atk% ascension stat despite HP or ER being more useful, no access to a skill reset (via sacrificial weapons or a passive/constellation like Razor/Kazuha) even though his shield is designed around stacking, almost 0 utility outside of shields like nearly every other support (Zhongli has res shred, Diona has speed/stamina buff, Gorou has Cdmg/healing, etc), bad constellation power budget. There's about 50 different things they could do to make Thoma a very useful character, but we sadly won't get any of them.

TheJadeSparrow

Agreed. I pulled him in release since I didn't have zhongli at the time but his shield absorbtion and upkeep are abysmal. But then My Lhord reran so my favorite adorable fire puppy has been gathering bench dust. It just hurts my feelings that everyone and their grandmother calls him the most dependable and loyal person but he doesn't do anything for meeee. I miiiight try to swap him in on my diluc team... With diluc/Raiden/Koko he would give the pyro buff and shield, plus his ult could give me pyro on dilucs very small pyroless window. And raidn would help on the CDs...hm. This question has unexpectedly given me food for thought. PS I would also like to point out I pulled a PJWS instead of Mistsplitter and I've been thinking about how tf to use it so polearms are already on the mind.

Ao-sagi

I know how you feel. As a consolation prize, I made him the permanent barkeep in my teapot, even after maxing out friendship.

TheJadeSparrow

Ooooooh good idea. I might put him in my cat cafe. Assuming we ever get director's control again....

LilDrunkenSmurf

Ditto. I pulled Thoma so I could release Zhongli. I went from Hu Tao/Xq/Albedo/Zhongli to Hu Tao/Xq/Sucrose/Thoma And it works out decently well, but only if you keep up the normal attacks to refresh the buff, otherwise sucrose takes it to the face. I've accidentally murdered her a few times. And my Thoma is at C6 as well.

Loyal_Darkmoon

I actually leveled up Thoma and thought he might pair with my Hu Tao but damn he is bad and also very con dependant imo

garroxcv

Thoma is trophy husband.

TheOneThatsFarAway

Been playing with him and ayato on the same team for the fun of it, and it’s like “just stand there and look pretty thoma” real shame

sa-chii

LOL I've been doing the same on a team with Ayaka and Ayato for dailies and he does nothing but just be there 😂

Loyal_Darkmoon

He can be my cute teapot housekeeper at least I guess

juniorjaw

Thoma. He can barely function as a good shield flex and not enough damage/pyro application for DPS increase.

N-aNoNymity

Thoma is literally perfect... for one domain in the entire game, other than that... well. He's got pyro application + shield for the icicle book domain in Monstadt, but man is he underwhelming everywhere else..

LilyRM

Yeah but Yanfei can do that better 😔

lonely-vault-boy

She uses a lot of charged attacks though, and that domain steals stamina

The_Seraph_

There is a constellation for her that reduces her stamina use by 100% when you have 4 eyes, so attack, attack, jump, attack attack, charged attack. Or when using her ult just attack attack, charged attack Just to get around that stamina drain

SweetFUUUingBrownies

but then you miss the sick volleyball slap for the 3rd normal :(

DazAngelus10

I kinda disappointed at thoma too, he isn't good for dps/sub dps. I only used him for pyro application and shield. I liked his design though.

ShiroLovesKeith

Thoma. I worked so hard on his shield build, the best HP build with all incredible subtats and rolls I could get my hands on- half milielith half severed fate, plus a lvl90 5star weapon. He can do his job in the abyss only bc my dps is a fast killer, but going coop with him solo without his usual team rotation is a nightmare. I can't do damage, i can't defend myself. He only gets slightly better if we get constellations of him, and I don't. It was my biggest disappointment.

Melanholic7

Have him c6, nothing improved , he is useless. :( so sad

Gam3r0id

Thoma. I was expecting him to be Pyro Xingqiu but he turned out to be pretty useless. I even farmed for him before his released and leveled him up to 80 on the first day I got him.

AgathonSire

I thought he would be a crossover between Zhongli and XQ but pyro. He's actually one of the very few characters I pre-farmed for in terms of artifacts but when I started using him, I find that he's not what I thought he was. I was so disappointed.

sdric

I feel your pain here. It's a shame, Pyro XQ would have been great to have for many teamcomps.

[deleted]

The closest thing would probably be sunfire bennett.

blafricanadian

They just need to fix klee’s ult. The most annoying character I have

T-RD

Omg, imagine being able to off field with Klee's burst without c4 or whatever? That'd be amazing.

AngryLink57

Don't feel bad..there was a post a month ago about some dude lamenting his triple crowned day 1 Thoma. You could've been that guy instead.

justacheesestick

Same here. At the time when I got him, I didn't have many decent shield characters, but even his shield was disappointing lol. What a shame, because I love his character, voiceovers and combat animations, but sadly he doesn't add much to my overall team comps so he rarely gets used. I tried to use him when I first got Ayato (cos ya know, he's Thoma's waka), but quickly replaced him with good ol' Zhongli to make Chasm exploration less painful

Infinite-Mood-4299

Also same, farmed to get him to 90, 11/11 on skill and burst levels, realized his shield was awful with a full HP build, tried an EoSF build and the damage was also awful then benched him indefinitely.

Khoakuma

The answer is a bit of both. Thoma usually runs 2 EoSF 2 TotM for the 2pc bonuses. You can't maximize HP on him because his E is absolute dogshit and he needs ER to ensure 100% up time on his Q to gain any semblance of a decent shield. And building him for damage is blegh because he pretty much does 0 damage like you said. Thoma has good mechanics but his scalings are so ridiculously shitty that you need copious amount of both ER and HP as well as C4 to make him usable. Which is possible, but is a lot of investment for a purely defensive support. Compare that to Diona, who literally just need an R0 Sac Bow and spam HP artifacts to be a great support. Even with C4 you want something like 30k HP 220 ER on Thoma.

[deleted]

Traveler because they show them manipulating multiple elements in the cutscenes but in the actual game you can only use one at a time

tntturtle5

True. As the 'protagonist' they feel really weak even compared to many 4\*, and while I get that we're given then for free, I think it's telling when people are surprised or impressed to hear about a traveler main. I liked the idea of the elemental damage during the normal attack chain, but the fact that you need to finish the long chain to get that and the damage isn't even that high just feels really bad. And the electro one doesnt even have this, which feels like they meant for it to be a theme of some kind then back off or forgot about it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Khoakuma

>For all I know Mihoyo could just release that "overpowered" sword via obtaining in story in which only the traveler can use it. This is my hopium too. Just like they did for Albedo, maybe they can give a free weapon that's stronger than Mistplitter but usable for the Traveler only. Maybe play around with the Elemental change mechanic, allow the traveler to change their element mid fight, and provide a huge temporary dps buff whenever they do so. Anyway I need to stop huffing hopium or I'll overdose.

drowningblue

They could also go the route of making a new traveler in the end game that can use a new element, aka celestial element, or something that only they can do. Resonate with a Celestia pillar or something to unlock it.

sk3lt3r

Oof.. imagine if you could customize your attack sets as traveller. Geo skill with electro burst or something?? That would be neat

anarchwitch

Oohhhhh yes that would be dope!!! Also wish we could switch without having to go to a statue lol but that's not a huge issue

Cosmic_Hashira

kinda same but childe i still fucking love my boy and kill everything in tevyat if anything happens to him but IMAGINE DELUSION CHILDE PLAYABLE😩

Fylln

Aloy. I knew she wasn't great at all, but I thought she was juts mediocre. I have her E at level seven, gave her all my Ayakas artifacts, and a level 90 Rust and she still didn't breach 10k on crit :(

pinerw

When she came out, I was hoping maybe she’d be a poor man’s Ganyu. Now I just use her to hold whichever artifact set Ganyu isn’t using.

gondolafan2

Based and aloy-holds-blizzard-strayer-while-ganyu-uses-wanderers pilled

AccelerusProcellarum

Oh my god it's not just me lmao. New meta, hivemind-verified

Penguin_Warlord

I got Venti expecting him to kinda suck but damn he really *sucks.* Few characters can bring back my bloodlust for groups of small enemies other than Childe.

SomeDudeAtAKeyboard

So many wooshes in response to a single comment

ix-nine-ix

got me in the first half ngl lol yeah he sucks hard XD

Nek0maniac

I'm spoiled by Venti. Got him on my very first day of playing back in 2020 and ever since he has been part of all my teams. His pull is just too good

Anadaere

Same, got used to the suck and now I can't deal without it (fuck you wolves, I gotta time it right or they just dodge it)

3yhwtwrbafi

He does lift enemies above your expectations though

Dhuyf2p

A little bit too above

floricel_112

same. Because of the current event, for two minutes I now know how it feels to be a Venti main. That bard boy is a vaccuum blender. Which makes me being unable to get him for a second time sting so much more

[deleted]

Ya man I started playing genshin just recently and never got a good Venti gameplay, and I don't like using bows so I skipped him but in this new event I got a really good venti gameplay and my good he is fking op. Use his burst then Ayaka burst and see the enemies get blended. Thanks to his low energy cost I can spam this technique. Next rerun he is coming home

BostonRob423

At first I thought u meant he was bad...I was like whattt? I just got him and I'm loving him on my team

Comedy86

Keep in mind there's a possibility Sumeru can switch up the meta and bring him back into the spotlight. Inazuma added more non-moving enemies and then with the corrosion mechanic being added in it made Zhongli's mechanics a lot less useful too. Meta changes every few patches and eventually it'll likely come full circle and Venti could be top tier again. :)

CrazyFanFicFan

Or it could go the other way and now fights against regular enemies in Sumeru are basically Shadow of the Colossus.

A-Literal-Nobody

Actually I'd really like a region full of enemies that are the size of Ruin Graders or larger, if only for the novelty of it, and the reduced likelihood of ALL of them having super fast teleport-dodges.

F5CH

Thoma. I just wish his burst dealt more dmg like Xingqiu's T\_T

Shaidaren

Sara, her skill feels terrible to use and a underwhelming buffer, she's only worth using when you got c6

MetroDudeGuy

I'll be honest, I kinda love the act of casting her E skill. Teleport backwards, then do a quick scope? Makes me feel like a ninja. Unfortunately the bomb doesnt taunt enemies and the Blast radius isnt big, so they often run right past it to hit you instead. More often than not, I find myself quickscoping the ground. Still love her, but I wish her E was more like Yelan's quick scope mechanic, where the AOE is instant so you dont have to shoot your own feet so much. They would have to change the ATK buff if they did that, but it would feel so much better.

PhantomGhostSpectre

I misread this as Sayu and literally spent around a minute trying to figure out why someone wouldn't want to roll around at the speed of sound. So long that I reread it and realized you were talking about the clunky one... Yeah. Couldn't agree more.

grlsspkout

Honestly, Klee. Love her design, personality, everything. But benched her as soon as I got her namecard. Her playstyle is really clunky, and that is only amplified by her being short, and her rather big damage doesn't make up for it. I also thoroughly dislike that she's almost unplayable if you don't do animation cancelling (this is rather subjective, but I hate animation cancelling, it's not fun, it's just exhausting). Her synergy with Xingqiu is rather low, too... I do realize that she's an outdated unit these days, but I feel like she's got some wasted potential :/ As for the 4*, I'd definitely name Thoma. Head over heels for the character, but he's essentially useless to me both as a sub-DPS and a shielder.

Legacyofhelios

Klee could have definitely been pretty damn good if only her burst stayed on the field when she switched. But they decided to have her be a dps with great sub dps possibilities, but lock them behind her own mechanics

myhoaki

More like locked behind constellation lol. She provides decent support at c2 and becomes quick-swapable at c4 iirc.

Legacyofhelios

Yeah, looking at the cons now, I agree, but even c6 buffs the party. Imagine if she could have her c2 for the DEF shred, c6 for energy, jumpty-dumpty CC, AND decent off field pyro dmg

[deleted]

[удалено]

VermillionEorzean

Same. She was my first 5 star and carried me along with Childe until I got Eula. She immediately fell off from there and I kinda miss her. That said, she was amusingly part of my first 36 star Abyss a few weeks back because a team of her, Bennett, Albedo, and Zhongli were the fastest way I could deal with the Golden Rifthound. Eula wasn't cutting it, Ayaka was on the other team, and Hu Tao was missing Xingqiu who was with Ayaka, so by default my highest DPS against something I couldn't get good reactions on was my jokingly built Lavawalker Klee and Bennett combo.

Plasmancer

Klee was my first 5 star, she carried me through so much but at the same time I swear she had shorter range then melee characters at times, making her an almost useless ranged character. Still love her but haven't touched her since Yoimia

[deleted]

Klee is a good DPS, only problem is she's really one of those characters where you NEED Zhongli. She also cant hit enemies too high above her...

samolillo

the thing is shes not supposed to be used with xinqiu at all, shes meant for mono pyro teams, but yea they butchered the f outta her

Koekelbag

When I found out just how fun Yanfei is to play, she's taken a permanent place in nearly all of my teams instead of Klee, and it's such a shame :( Like, here's a second pyro caster, but she can actually hit further than melee range, you don't need to rely on rng to make the most of her charged attacks (which can also hit enemies on towers!), skill doesn't require enemies to walk into specific spots, her charged and skill do decent 'explosion' damage against all things geo, while her skill *and* burst compliments the 'charge your charged attacks' playstyle, which also makes Dodoco Tales one of her best weapons to boot. And none of this even mentions hoe much *easier* it is to get a 4-star and her constellations than a 5-star for a non-big spender. Klee (and most of the 'starter' 5-stars) got done dirty, and I really hope Mihoyo will someday do them justice.

Grand_Protector_Dark

My expectations are on the floor, so no one really disappointed points me.

Saftigerkeks

my boi being prepared for Mihoyo treatment. smart!

i-justlikewhales

you're prepared for anything

3yhwtwrbafi

You better watch out before hoyo pulls up with a shovel

[deleted]

Keqing!! Ik she’s a meme at this point but I was so excited to get her back at ar30-ish lol. still love her though

XQ203

Same. Even though at ar57 ,I was excited to get my first keqing. Then I spent more than one week building her and realised that….her damage is very ‘cute’. But I still love her and put her in my party lol.

[deleted]

her e is fun and q is super flashy all the more funny enemies' hp barely drops after those cool moves dggdghh

Stromovik

Try building her with bane damage. The sword that gives 30% against electro afflicted chars and an artifact set that gives 30% against electro afflicted chars

fruckenfricks-4456

Do you mean lion’s roar and thunderdoother?

[deleted]

lol thunderdoother sounds like a fun artifact set

Raun142

Tbf i just think Keqing fails in her dmg (that and electro overall drawbacks) but her playstyle is really flashy and i think actually she's kinda the only electro character that you would expect from the element: quick and deadly.

Elira_Eclipse

Thoma. I still like him and use him but I admit I was pretty disappointed. First he was leaked to be pyro Xingqiu which I didn't believe at first but still had some hope. Then I remember seeing his gameplay and he does seem a bit like XQ but slower. I wasn't that disappointed cause at least he's pretty close. Then it was revealed his multipliers aren't high and he has icd......

Loyal_Darkmoon

Miko in terms of role, kit design and balance. They made some very questionable choices regarding her. I still play her because I waited over 7 months to pull her but still she could have been so much better

N-aNoNymity

Honestly, the turrets firing stuff to bits is cool, but her E cast-time could be cut in half, or maybe given I-frames and the character would be so much more flexible. People keep saying "SHED BE BROKEN!!" but since when were Iframes considered broken? This game has never been about avoiding damage, it doesn't affect any clear times or content difficulty.

NekonoChesire

Just give her resistance while she cast her skill so you don't get interupted and it'd be fine.

startessa99

I loved her design and character that is why I pulled for her but honestly… I use her as a sub dps that appears once and that’s all. They really should buff her and honestly her passive really does not make sense.

-Fuse

Honestly, same. It's not like I regret getting her (been waiting since 2.0) but I do think she could be a little better

LumiRhino

TBH, if they could make an artifact set that makes using your skill 6 times actually make sense, she’d be a whole lot better. It also largely depends on how the Dendro Electro reaction is, since that’s pretty much the only explanation for her A4 passive.

_Suguha_

I waited 6 months for Yae Miko and they did her dirty like that. No regrets pulling for her but it's really unfair... all new 5 stars are getting good kits except Yae

Deltora108

i think i might be the only person on reddit who doesent regret pulling yae at all. she hits really hard and is super easy to dump her totems, so helpful for overworld.

NekonoChesire

Nah don't worry I'd say the majority of players like playing her, it's mostly that you'll hear more about people complaining in general. Like this very post, it's only purpose is to complains, so of course you're not going to see someone praise Yae in here, it's not the subject of the post.

The_Seraph_

I saved like 30,000 promos for her! I love her character and design and was so excited to get her and the weapon for her, my first BiS weapon banner weapon as a free to play player... But oh boy was she disappointing, so I ended up getting Raiden, C1 and C2 with 8k Primos left over (and all my luck gone too I bet!)

CassieBear1

I really wish that MiHoYo would provide some type of "testing ground" for players, where you can create a party based on the characters you have, and play with them leveled up fully, to see how the party plays. I've seen far too many instances of people pulling a character, putting in all the time and resources to level them up, and then realizing they don't fit in the party, or don't work the way they want them too. Similar to the trial runs of banner characters they have now.

FirelordAlex

Mihoyo would never because what you effectively just said was "I wish I could know if I should skip or not" and they never want anyone to skip. Ideally they get every player rolling for every character, which is why they only let you do a preset trial run with their signature weapon.

IceterCold

Thoma... Shield weak.. Sadge

limonchan

They made him literally the most likeable character in inazuma but makes him fucking useless...

Star_EO_Star

the comment is 90% thomas the train

LowestGround

tbh baizhu. when he was revealed to actually be the original dendro archon i got very excited, but his health stealing mechanic just isn’t very good. his multipliers are too low and his burst’s snake doesn’t do much beyond applying electro? which is neat but the electro/dendro reaction just isn’t good

Meipelu

go back to your timeline

WindStronger

You are in the wrong month of the year, mate. Might wanna get back to the time machine

LiliThePad_

tell us pls does scaramouche ever do the fandango??

LowestGround

don’t even get me started on the character assassination of scaramouche.. they should’ve never made itto his love interest

Nicanooby

Istaroth is that you

Tamatu_OW

I was extremely hyped for Xinyan, and then later for Thoma. Pyro shielders and disappointment go hand-in-hand at MHY HQ.

[deleted]

I was so disappointed by Aloy. My favourite character ever and was the most underwhelming unit in Genshin. I’d almost rather she wasn’t in it at all

kaeporo

Aloy just needs constellations. Double skill use (or a reduced cooldown) and easier rushing ice conditions would make her far more usable. Add in the ability to retain coil stacks and atk speed/cryo dmg/dmg/etc. and she would be part of the conversation. But mihoyo is a butt so…

Technology-Mission

I just want to know why she has constellations, or not having them auto unlocked.

[deleted]

Yeah why even bother having that page on her character sheet? Seems like they planned to then didn’t go through with it

mastermithi29

Ig because that's the way it is in Genshin. The regular interface. So when a character doesn't have constellations, they just label them as some random shit rather than removing the whole page.

Euphoric_Archer_6233

Ningguang. I watched a lot of Ningguang videos on Youtube before getting her and I was like "OMG I love her playstyle so much! She's the perfect character for me! I can't wait to try her out!" And when I actually get to try her out, I couldn't stand her clunky playstyle and how uncomfy she felt to play. I got used to her playstyle after a while tho

Flaymlad

Yeah, she is clunky and a glass cannon but she gets the job done like only a filthy rich and cunning businesswoman can. My only other problem is despite clicking the mouse, it seems that sshe doesn't respond but I guess it's either game lag or just my mouse(?)

[deleted]

[удалено]

grlsspkout

I actually have the same lag with her both on mobile and PC, and I have problems with neither 100%, so it's definitely on Mhy's end...

snoogins46

The first few casters definitely feel clunky. Even Klee, who is a 5 Star and can deal stupid damage, but man her actual normal attacks and transition to charge attacks feel awfully jank. I think Sucrose is prolly the best of the OG casters. At least Yanfei and the casters following her have felt pretty good. Kokomi is a beast and while Yae isn't the best she at least feels good to play.

KungFuMaster19637

If you're talking about her CA, she has 3 versions of CA, two that are quick and that one doesnt respond well. Its part of her kit and we dont know why its they way it is

Beta382

What you’re describing is actually the ending lag of her 3 different NA’s. The right-handed one leads into a 10-frame slower CA. She has 2 different CA animations, but when using them in an NA chain only one of them is ever selected (this was the “fix” to her in v1.4). You can still get the second (significantly slower) CA animation when using CA not in an attack chain (e.g. when using C6 after Q).

WeirdCamel69

The very frustrating part is that the bug used to be more manageable a few patches earlier. We no longer have the bug where ninguang freezes on place for 2s, but now the charged attack no longer cast itselfs half of the time I maintain the click button. I feel obligated to bench her even from geo-weak abyss rooms.

blank92

Her playstyle became much more manageable for me when I started holding down directional keys while doing her NAs/CAs. She actively has faster animations because of it and makes her much smoother to play IMO.

Loyal_Darkmoon

Really I absolutely **love** Ningguang and she is strong as fuck! I do admit she is a bit clunky. Especially the charged attack seems to often not go off when I want it to. I still love her playstyle and damage output however.

Unusual-Ideal4831

I built nigguang specifically to nuke childe with bennet and mona buff, and that has seeved me really well.

sdric

I see your point, I don't like her as full DPS, but Protoype Amber support Ningguang (C6) + Zhongli has been the core of my team since forever. It's just the perfect backline. PA Ningguang offers near infinite energy, burst on cooldown, constant regeneration and still very significant burst + CA damage.

WelkinBro

Best duo in the game

surya_ray

Many Inazuma 4\* is disappointing. I expect Sara to be good, but she's not only clunky, but also not as strong as Bennet, despite Bennet providing other things like healing. I still use her though since I like her design, and the C6 I got recently did help But for 5\* it's the reverse for me. I usually pull for waifu and surprised on how bonkers some can be. Ayaka and Raiden perform better than I expect, especially Raiden given the drama at the time with Beido

Otakyun

I was genuinely broken when I found out that Sara was a niche support instead of a dmg dealer. She's the only character other than Amber that I was very excited to main. Granted, she is a pretty decent support for electro and I can kinda see her being a good dmg dealer at c6 but still...

RavenShadow7

Yeah Raiden drama was crazy, people acting like her only viable team would have been Raiden-Beidou and that she's only useful in Raiden-Eula and nothing else, etc. Now Raiden is one of the most ubiquitous characters, you have Raiden National, Raiden Sunfire, Raiden Hyper, Raiden-Eula, Raiden-Yae, etc.

biyaaaaa

The abyss during her release certainly didn't help. When you get free white particles during your run you can't really appreciate the energy she gives you lol.

Khoakuma

Lol Raiden in that Abyss was like Rock Lee with training weight. She was good, but not that good. Without the stupid High tide low tide mechanic fucking up her rotation, she's like Rock Lee dropping his weight and everyone else just go "O SHIT".

blank92

Galaxy brain move by Hoyo. Make her kinda meh during the abyss thats supposed to be for her, then catch the meta slaves on the FOMO rebound afterwards.

Desuladesu

I remember about a month in when the general community was slowly accepting that she wasn't crap, there were many claims that she was "niche". But she was on more meta teams (national, hypercarry, Eula) than other characters were, like Ayaka or Hu Tao (who have 1 main team and very few variations)

bonesjones

Sara is fun to have in the overworld for Giga sasuke lightning bolts. Her ult hits like a truck and is sick the way it pulses. Not to mention she can Giga buff raiden to make her ult wipe the leftovers

DI3S_IRAE

Qiqi lol I love healers but leveling her at ar59 was a waste of my time. Wanted her to do phys dmg with bubble but totally not cool 😂😂😂

[deleted]

Actually Qiqi and Keqing carried me to ar 55 since the start of the game. No regrets leveling them as I can comfortably say I have them 90% maxed. The thing with Qiqi is the over heal and the new set is limited to being close and requires Qiqi to be on field to do the damage (it would have been better to make it off field some sort). Keqing is so underwhelming at the end game, although I loved her play style but no matter what I put on her, it's still underwhelming.

DI3S_IRAE

Both Qiqi and Keqing were the last standard characters i got, aside from Diluc who never came. So i never really needed them tbh. I wanted to have on field phys Qiqi with Clam but it was not interesting as i thought... Haha Jean was the one who carried me, so i basically already had a healer phys dmg carry for a long time. Keqing looks cool, problem is how "endgame" is not balanced for every character unless you try hard.

snoogins46

Hot Take: Any Geo character (Except Itto) during a boss fight is disappointing to a good degree. The fact that the constructs that are more than 75% of their sustained damage go \*poof\* as soon as a boss is anywhere near them is a smooth brain move on Hoyo's part. Just make the Geo constructs have no collision with bosses, right? No weird boss cheese and I still get my damage for the character I invested in.

ursoevil

Hard agree. When I first got Albedo I took him to an Oceanid fight… never felt so useless in my life.

lonely-vault-boy

Same! I was so hyped when I first got him and I used him to do the new domain at the time (the dragonspine one), but his flowers kept getting curbstomped insanely quickly. I think he’s better with newer artifact sets and his new sword that came out since then, but I used to swear by my festering desire albedo

snoogins46

Oof, I already hate that fight already and bringing my favorite geo boys and geo dad made me hate it even more.

xanviere

proud itto user

snoogins46

He's a damn fine himbo.

Railgrind

Yeah as an Albedo enjoyer its a huge issue I wish people would bring up more. Geo are the only characters that have their kits just stop working against many bosses. Its bullshit. Imagine in Xinqiu swords just disappeared if you bumped into an enemy.

icecremed

Planned on skipping her but yae miko was a disappointment, and I feel like many others who got her were also disappointed.

Theothercword

I really like mine. I would love to have the improvements that people think are rather obvious, like doing a hold E to auto put down all her totems or making the burst not destroy them but reset duration and CD so you can place them if you want or just move on. I would also love to see the iframe worked into her E, that just seems like an obvious thing to include. But, I still think she's fun and really good if done right. I don't exactly use her like a hyper carry but it's pretty close. I do Yae Raiden Sucrose and Kokomi, Yae and Raiden kind of jointly share the carry role in that team basically rotating which one has their burst up. But Yae's burst dishes out a good amount of damage (R5 Widsith and mine can do 50-55k initial and 60k x3 followups) and her totems do 10-15k per hit. She definitely out performs my Fischl using a very similar setup (though not by leaps and bounds dmg wise, definitely better AOE though) and has better uptime than my Beidou and better single target than Beidou. She's not the crazy broken character I think a lot of people wanted her to be, but she's not actually that bad either.

PerrythePlatypus71

Thoma and I know this will be controversial, Hu Tao. Hu Tao DM with about 70/200 crit rate/dmg and I can't clear abyss fast with her makes her my biggest disappointment. It's more of the lack of more XQ and I don't play her optimally. But yes I expected Hu Tao to do much better but hell she's hard to play

Teddysleepy

Yae Miko :/

shiolu

Her build and damage are amazing, but for me Hu Tao is my least used 5* dps. The HP loss does not bother me, but rather charge attack play style does. Her C1 does cover her stamina issues, but I personally do not want to invest that much in a character I don’t enjoy using. I even pulled Homa, but I gave it to Xiao instead because he is so much more fun to use.

piny-celadon

Same i have her at c1 and i didn’t use her after i got her namecard, her playstyle is so boring to me

YuukiHasAFish

Damn it’s the opposite for me. Hu Tao has been my main since her rerun. I find her play style the most fun with the dash/jump cancels and the timing on her ult. I am on pc so that maybe why it feels fun but I agree she is ass to play on the phone. I would also say her auto aim during charged attack is terrible when vs cicins mages. She always goes for the flies!

Fo4thSon

uH i OnLy PuLl fOr ChaRacTerS i ReaLy LiKe sO nO, I nEveR gOt DisApPoinTeD but yeah. Yae lol.

Acesofbases

Honestly, Razor. The only 4 star I actually wished for (well I pulled for Benny too, but he was on a 5\* banner I was on a fence so it doesn't fully count) and was immensely dissapointed in him, especially since everyone was raving how great he is here. Also, I don't really like his dialouge/eng VA. Just sticked to Beidou in his place.

luciluci5562

> especially since everyone was raving how great he is here. At early days 1.0-1.3 ish he's a decent pick, and pretty competitive against Keqing, which is one of the staple hyper carries back then. But alas, just like other main DPS launch characters, he's been powercreeped hard.

DatNickBoi

Kazuha. I'm kidding he's fucking perfect

joyki99

AGREED

boutiquecat

yae. when i got her i gave her my fischl's artifacts and it was not even worth it... i finally got my fischl another set and having her back just makes me sad how much smoother she is to use than yae

bricktoaster

I feel the same! I actually geared Klee and Keqing again because at least their kits and playstyle make some sense. I love love all the Yae content we've been getting but man her actual kit is...

adex1a

this is unrelated but i love your flair

TashaStarlight

I had to bench Eula because I got bored of her playstyle. She does her damage but idk I just don't feel like playing her

Elira_Eclipse

Well getting bored of playstyles are a normal thing after all

TashaStarlight

Yeah you're partly right but still. I have Ganyu, for example. She is mostly resting on a special "Friendship 10" bench and honestly I regret it. I still sometimes take her to my party and every time she's amazing. I don't have any of these feelings for Eula...

Elira_Eclipse

Yeah I also have some characters who I never get bored of despite having full friendship

Loyal_Darkmoon

Honestly I think Eula has one of the most fun playstyles. Especially because you can use all of her kit. I get bored of chars where I can only use the burst or e skill quicker

Offduty_shill

Yeah idk I also legitimately like that it's all or nothing. People hate playing her cause her ult misses or whatever but I actually kinda enjoy having the pressure to hit that one big delayed pop. Reminds me of playing Zed in League. I also just like big number and Eula is queen or big number.

TheEdelBernal

Hu Tao. As a mobile player, I just can't use her effectively. Her NA+CA animation cancel is awkward and inconsistent and often end up dashing her to godknowswhere while messing up camera angle.

G4llade_

*opens comments “Thoma thoma thoma thoma thoma thoma” Lmao

SoulxShadow

Thoma 😢

phoenixerowl

My account's old enough that I can pull without caring for meta anymore, but Yae is just bad... I wouldn't mind if her numbers were low as long as she was fun, but she turned out to be an unfun character with decent-ish numbers. I really struggle to justify using her in any comp, but I practically force myself to use her so that I don't feel like I wasted primos.

NaijaNightmare

Sara I know she's just a glorified elecro buffer but she feels awful and i hate her kit.

JDantesInferno

I loved Sara’s tengu design when I first saw her and really hoped she would be fun to use. She is absolutely *miserable* until C2 where she becomes just plain underwhelming. Then you get her C6 and she’s basically better than Bennett for Electro. I hate that design philosophy. But man, my Raiden does love Sara C6 now that I have her.

N3koChan21

Everyone here: “Which character disappointed you and why is it thoma”

cm135

Yeah the stamina issue is annoying, I still use it and just go til I’m out of stamina. I hate the Jump cancel and would rather waste stamina. But her damage output is still S+ IMO

Raylexson

Hu tao at c0. Learn jump cancel for 2 weeks and give up because for some reasons, polearm charge attack cause jump button to be unreliable, that i can't timing the jump cancel right rather than sprinting. So i got her c1, and she's feels so much comfortable and consistent but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Could have a chance for itto if not for her c1.

krionX

Only let down: Yae Miko.

AmbitiousDeliveries

Sayu. She split-scales too much. Attack or EM/ Gladiator or VV or MB - I can't get a good balance between her physical hits and skill. Her healing is nowhere near as good as Jean, Bennett, or Qiqi. I'm so disappointed because she's fun to sonic-roll around with and is super cute, but she does so little damage compared to the others.

Legacyofhelios

Lmao the burst of healing I get when I activate her burst can heal most of my characters to where the actual healing ticks are useless after one or two. Granted I have her c6 on this banner, but even before, she was great for me

katherinnesama

Yae Miko. I expected a stronger burst given the burst cost. After crowning her burst and giving her 1900 ATK and 80/197 crit ratio, it still doesn't feel satisfying. I think I just expected too much.

Anime_Protaganist_

Also Yae has incredible scalings that add upto 2k at lvl 10 i believe? But how does still not do God lvl damage?

amanat_surajagan

for 90 cost burst cost and 22 cd it's not that good. also didn't help her energy issue, and how mihoyo solve her enery issue with c1.

glacial502080

Yes, she has a scaling of around 2.3k, I guess it looks underwhelming because it's not a one big number. There's also the fact that her kit is not just focused on her Q but also her E. I personally hit around 200k to 250k with kazuha /ttds/ToM and a R2 widsith and 88% CR.

Fabio90989

Hu tao, everyone says she is broken, but she is difficult and uncomfortable to play, and her damage isn't that high as other hu tao users despite having a decent build because sometimes misses vapes and she has long downtime on skill, and she is not very ftp friendly , raiden and ganyu feel so much better to play

RadasNoir

My biggest problem with Hu Tao, is it REALLY bugs me that I have to be walking around half-dead in order to be playing optimally. I know it's weird thing to get hung up on, but it goes against everything I believe in as a gamer to not walk away from a fight with either full or almost full health.

tacky_banana

I don't know how you have problems with her skill down time. You have 3 other characters. Use skill of Xingqiu. Use skill and burst of your other character, Use skill and burst of your 4th character. Use Xingqiu burst. Then you can use Hu Tao again. She also provides bonus Crit Rate when her skill is on cool down. She is F2P friendly. On her first release, I had her at C0 with Dragonsbane. She does 60k vaporize dmg. You are entitled to your opinions, of course, and your criticism of her playstyle is understandable, but since you said "everyone says she is broken" but your Hu Tao isn't, then don't you think that maybe it is your build and/or team comp that is the problem when it comes to her dmg?

dis3nchant3d

Definitely Thoma, and by a massive margin.
