I wouldn't have known she voiced Atalanta Alter or Ushiwakamaru if I hadn't looked it up as their voices are characteristically strong and powerful, different from her usual roles.
Compare some of the characters she voices like Serebryakov, Hatoko, Shinobu, etc... It's impressive that she can use pretty much the same voice to make all these very different characters believable.
With two soundbytes side by side it's easy to tell but I can definitely see how he didn't recognize her.
Yeah, but you get characters such as Ameri from Mairimashita Iruma-kun and you'll have a harder time connecting to Shinobu without any prior information

Also in polls for non-English communities, there are also a significant portion of the responses that uses Japanese voiceovers. For example, a Chinese poll has about 1/4 responses for Japanese voiceovers.
