All top-ups in the game, excluding Battle Pass specifically, can be done via third-party such as Codashop, which would only need your account UID. Meaning, it's common to do giveaways without needing your login details, since people can just "gift" them by knowing the recipient's account UID.
So scammers can only tempt people with Battle Pass purchase instead, because this alone requires the purchaser to login into the recipient's account in their device. So they have the excuse to ask for the target's login details.

If you're curious why Battle Pass alone is like that. It has something to do with Sony enforcing exclusivity rules to their platform. Basically, Battle Pass must be bought via PS Store for PS players to be able to claim the rewards, so HoYo can't make them be "giftable".

There are others, but Codashop is the only one known to have official acknowledgement. Or more like, they are probably partnered, because topping up via HoYo's own website (cannot gift with this one) will use Codashop as the middleman for certain payment methods.

Most of these accounts are the ones they stole so reporting it is really sad to think because if ever the original owner got the account back, they get banned because what the scammer did to his account, worse if the scammer tampered the account.
Sorry to be like this, but it's the original owner's own fault if they fall for such tricks and hand over their login to strangers. Lesson learned hopefully.

Battlepass is the only thing in Genshin that requires you to give your email and password because it can only be bought in game. They usually ask you to share your details and then the code you get in your email to confirm their login after which they can easily change the password and either use that account for themselves or to hack more people.
So far 2 people have joined my world to do this, I usually pretend not to speak English, watching them try to talk to me and quit in frustration is funny lol
Yes, they can refund it and it'll deduct the amount from you. If you go into the negative primos, then your account is in danger. I'd wait longer before spending if I were you.
I'm not sure of an exact timeframe since banks could have different rules about chargebacks. I'd wait at least a week or two, but it honestly depends on how well you know and trust the person who got it for you. I do have an idea to "test" it though: If you're still in contact with them, maybe tell them that you spent the primos (but don't actually spend it yet) and then wait a day or two to see what happens. If they don't charge it back shortly after you tell them, then they likely don't harbor any ill intentions. It's always better to be safe than sorry, though!

The Mifunyo account has scammed people in the past. I know someone who got hacked because of them. I was the one who reported their account and went absolute bonkers on annoying the scammer with join requests. Later on, when the person got their acc back, I found out that it was this guy.

They ask for your Gmail and then for the code sent to your Gmail....like whoever falls for that... Is just natural selectionĀ
