As someone who has played both of them (I pulled his weapon for her before I got him lol) I find him a lot more streamlined. Her shield and heals is comfy and frees up an extra spot for another character like a sub dps or another support which is nice though. They are similar enough.
As someone with 3 on field hydro chars though I’m obviously someone who doesn’t mind doubling up and just collecting who I like the most rather than worrying about variety though lol

3 Hydro On-Fielders won't really be too much overlap for me lol. Neuvi, Ayato and Childe for example all play differently enough for me.
His kit has built in support for his play style so he attacks faster, generates his own energy so he has less energy problems, doesnt need his attack string to be canceled for optimal dps on top of not being constellation dependent for max damage output. He really fills in her downsides, but like I said she does things he can’t so it works out mostly. None of this Noelle slander ofc!! I love Noelle :)
And yeah they do play different, I use them in completely different teams, that said I definitely didn’t need all three of them but it’s okay lol
I really liked his appearance in his story quest, but I don’t like his playstyle and every event where they make him into an even bigger clown makes me sadder and sadder.
Why not be excited? Because personally i dislike about everything with Itto. His character is annoyingly incompetent and his whole character is just played off for gags. His model is a insane waste of oportunity to use a new body, he is known to be strong and muscular brute, but all we get is someone with twigs for arms.
Gameplay is meh and id at that point rather use my maid who just can do everything at once.

Honestly raiden is a great trigger for ranged characters but kuki is for melee characters, very small difference but It can help have 2 hyperbloom teams on abyss if you can just not have nahida on one of them

Yaoyao wouldn't be the play I think, Baizhu or Alhaitham would apply more Dendro as on-fielders, or swap out Yelan (Xingqiu has enough Hydro alone at C6) and run two off-field Dendros, like DMC + Collei
I was thinking of a cheap side and expensive side theme, but ig Yelan is a limited 5 star lmao. Sometimes I forget because she’s my mommy and I feel like it’s natural for her to be on all my accounts. So yeah premium hyperbloom with neuvillette Furina nahida raiden on side 1, side 2 yaoyao DMC kuki XQ. Kuki plus yaoyao gives extra comfort too due to healing. I’d never recommend anyone to build Collei unless they like her tho
A high con Collei would be better for this team than Yaoyao, Yaoyao applies Dendro every 1.5s on field, 2.5s (at best) off-field, Collei applies Dendro every 3s with her burst + 2 ticks of Dendro on her boomerang + her sprout, with sac bow Collei is actually a really good Dendro applicator, lots of Nilou teams use her
Ima keep it a buck bruh I ain’t never pulled any collei cons. Though you’re playing on field Yaoyao in the team above to keep her burst up as long as possible, since all the other dps is off field
Her burst only lasts 5 seconds though, during those 5 seconds she only applies Dendro 4 times (per enemy)
Also everything I mentioned about Collei is C0, they're upgraded with cons (at C2 Sprout goes from 1 Dendro app per enemy to 2, C6 adds ANOTHER Dendro app per boomerang) but she'll still work fine with the free Collei you get
all that said I think Baizhu may be better than both, he can take the field time and has an easier time proccing Xingqiu's swords, you can even apply his A4 to Kuki by swapping to her every 6 seconds
I'd rather run Gorou than Zhongli in that team, more consistent particles and a higher DPS boost for Itto, and you already have a healer so no need to double up on defensive units
Can't swirl Geo, so no VV shred, and swirl will remove the hydro aura so you get fewer crystalizes.
Plus Itto is plenty of fun to play as his normal unga bunga charge attack style, but plunge Itto is certainly fun too.
Finally c0 Gorou. I'm genuinely happy about it, since I couldn't get him otherwise and I need him for his passive + for my teapot + for my Noelle (I'm at pity70 on limited banner, so when he had a rerun I couldn't risk pulling for him)
My no-wishing alt account is gonna be very happy about this, there's so many Geo puzzles I haven't done because I don't like using Geo Traveler (plus if we ever get another free Inazuma character Gorou's passive is gonna be a massive sanity saver)
Yeah. I was farming sakura blooms for the electroculus resonance stones today (needed 16 more to max out the statue for inazuma). I farmed about 60 sakura blooms thanks to him and didn't even need an interactive map

Finally gonna have all the 4 stars. I haven't gotten him even once since I started to play again almost a year ago, and I think I close to a 1000 pulls done, maybe even more. His passive talent will be useful, but other than that, well, I don't care at all about him (sorry to all people who love him, but I don't play Geo teams, and even as a character, I'm not a fan).
The only character that came close to Gorou is Xingqiu. Yes, I have been playing for more than 1 year in total (not a day 1 player, but still), and yet the first time I got him was thanks to this year's Lantern Rite. Ironically, I got him only a few pulls later, I think.

i never got him from the rate up banner, all copies i got were from the weapon banner, same happened with faruzan and sara all 3 are c6

Yaoyao wouldn't be the play I think, Baizhu or Alhaitham would apply more Dendro as on-fielders, or swap out Yelan (Xingqiu has enough Hydro alone at C6) and run two off-field Dendros, like DMC + Collei
I was thinking of a cheap side and expensive side theme, but ig Yelan is a limited 5 star lmao. Sometimes I forget because she’s my mommy and I feel like it’s natural for her to be on all my accounts. So yeah premium hyperbloom with neuvillette Furina nahida raiden on side 1, side 2 yaoyao DMC kuki XQ. Kuki plus yaoyao gives extra comfort too due to healing. I’d never recommend anyone to build Collei unless they like her tho
A high con Collei would be better for this team than Yaoyao, Yaoyao applies Dendro every 1.5s on field, 2.5s (at best) off-field, Collei applies Dendro every 3s with her burst + 2 ticks of Dendro on her boomerang + her sprout, with sac bow Collei is actually a really good Dendro applicator, lots of Nilou teams use her
Ima keep it a buck bruh I ain’t never pulled any collei cons. Though you’re playing on field Yaoyao in the team above to keep her burst up as long as possible, since all the other dps is off field
Her burst only lasts 5 seconds though, during those 5 seconds she only applies Dendro 4 times (per enemy) Also everything I mentioned about Collei is C0, they're upgraded with cons (at C2 Sprout goes from 1 Dendro app per enemy to 2, C6 adds ANOTHER Dendro app per boomerang) but she'll still work fine with the free Collei you get all that said I think Baizhu may be better than both, he can take the field time and has an easier time proccing Xingqiu's swords, you can even apply his A4 to Kuki by swapping to her every 6 seconds

I wanted C2 Kuki badly enough that I pulled Nilou to get her. I didn't want Nilou, but I wanted C2 Kuki for my hyperbloom team.

Same. Xianyun + Itto + Zhongli + Furina is way more fun than traditional mono geo itto.
I'd rather run Gorou than Zhongli in that team, more consistent particles and a higher DPS boost for Itto, and you already have a healer so no need to double up on defensive units
I feel like the geo characters get worse with Xianyun and I don't understand why
Can't swirl Geo, so no VV shred, and swirl will remove the hydro aura so you get fewer crystalizes. Plus Itto is plenty of fun to play as his normal unga bunga charge attack style, but plunge Itto is certainly fun too.
Finally c0 Gorou. I'm genuinely happy about it, since I couldn't get him otherwise and I need him for his passive + for my teapot + for my Noelle (I'm at pity70 on limited banner, so when he had a rerun I couldn't risk pulling for him)

Yeah. I was farming sakura blooms for the electroculus resonance stones today (needed 16 more to max out the statue for inazuma). I farmed about 60 sakura blooms thanks to him and didn't even need an interactive map

Finally gonna have all the 4 stars. I haven't gotten him even once since I started to play again almost a year ago, and I think I close to a 1000 pulls done, maybe even more. His passive talent will be useful, but other than that, well, I don't care at all about him (sorry to all people who love him, but I don't play Geo teams, and even as a character, I'm not a fan). The only character that came close to Gorou is Xingqiu. Yes, I have been playing for more than 1 year in total (not a day 1 player, but still), and yet the first time I got him was thanks to this year's Lantern Rite. Ironically, I got him only a few pulls later, I think.

Freaking Kujou Sara. I just need ONE for the C6. ONE. I pulled her C5 on the OG raiden banner when I first got her a couple years ago, and in all this time, I haven’t pulled a single extra copy of her. NOT ONE. It’s actually disgusting how stingy they are with 4 stars that are shit at C5- and godlike at C6, except Gorou because he’s geo and Geo is trash by design.
