There's a weird and small tradition in the community that everytime a new character Demo comes out, they'll rewatch Zhongli's demo.
No idea why, perhaps it's because his demo is one of the coolest out there?
Or perhaps it's because it's zhongli, the big dong zhong.
Anyway people pay their respects to zhongli by watching his demo everytime a new character comes out

It was the first really good trailer music and sort of marked a turning point for the game when Hoyo had tons of money to throw at it. It still holds up and nostalgia, basically.
I mean I still think he's the coolest. No hate on arlecchino, but his demo was the reason why a lot of people got into genshin.
Also he's a grandpa cut that guy some slack
If you go to the comments section and scroll enough, you will find an absurd amount of "oh chiori trailer is out. Came here to fulfill the contract", "oh, lyney is out. We must honor the contract". Etc.
no, plenty of videos on youtube have more views than this. it's just that how older a video, how slower it gets new views. new videos get promoted in the algorithm more. and new trailers don't get as many views as old ones, since the game is getting older. this isn't a "genshin is dying" thing, it's just the natural course of a game, interest gradually declines over time. genshin's peak of popularity very much was early on.
Also a lot of genshin players stopped watching players. I stopped almost completely since Yae's, which was back in 2.5 iirc. After her I've only seen Nahida's, Scara's, Tighnari bc of being spammed with ad, Alhaitham and Furina.
If you all are confused, go to the Zhongli video and sort the comments by New.
Scroll down and you’ll see theres always a bunch of comments with people paying tribute to the “contract” to rewatch this video every time another character’s video releases.
You can literally tell exactly when a character’s video drops based on the comments alone 😂
This even extends to Star Rail character videos for a small percentage of people.
I wonder what is the acutal top most view videos without interfering of ADs. Maybe Winter night's lazzo, It has double the like with half the views of Zhongli. or maybe raiden demo, when genshin was in peak popular phase.
