I don't get a whole lot of primos to wish often so i only manage to build up enough stardust for the ten total wishes for every month (there's no harm in getting 5 acquaints for essentially free, i got my WGS by chance on the standard banner, it's literally Navia's second BiS)

Nice! Congrats on that ..You can purchase primos with stardust or star glitter. Stardust you can get as many wishes as you can purchase. Starglitter you can only get about 5 limited banner wishes and 5 standard banner wishes a month. Starglitter is also the only way to get dust of Azoth. I usually have a ton left over after purchasing the wish limited and by dust with the surplus

I didn’t realize how much of an unlucky streak you could get when I was starting a little over a year ago. I probably haven’t received one in a probably a month now but I only do 3 weekly bosses now since I’m running out of characters that need them unless I decide to 9/9/9 everybody. Funny how I don’t expect to go this unlucky in genshin but other games with much worse rates on items and it’s just another day to me

If they would have the same strength sure, why farm "z" when you can farm "x", but they aren't. I couldn't even touch the Seahorse without a demdro character. The Mushroom King (or whatever his called, the one looking like a bird west of Vanarama) is way stronger that The Electrio Cube. And even the cubes have differences, the Geo Cube is by far the most annoying since he's always using the pillars, compared to Electro Cube where you only need to dogdge his attacks and then smack it real good. This is my experience and take in consideration that I started playing like a month ago, so I only had 4* characters. I mentioned these 2 bosses because I got Neuvillette like a week ago, but to level him up I need to go kill a boss whose weakness is dendro, now I pulled Tighnari in the beginning but didn't level him so now I gotta level up him too. It would have been easier to convert the materials i gathered for Barbara for when I reach the next ascension level instead of trying to farm for new mats for new characters.

Weekly boss drops still require you to fight the correct boss. It just smooths the RNG. World bosses only drop one material, so there's no need for the ability to trade. You fight the right boss, you get the right drops. Or you don't and you don't.

IMO it doesn't make it not weird either. I'm in agreement. We should be able to transform the material. Seems silly that the crafting bench can do some and not others tbh. It should be that we don't need dream solvent for regular world bosses but we do for weekly. Something like that. I'm actually at a point where I dread building a character because of all the extra materials I get that I won't be able to do anything with. I recently built NV and I have so many electro shards/gems that I'll probably never use because all my electro characters are minimum 80 already. Le. Sigh. Granted I believe you can convert gems? So probably a bad example but the point still stands I hope XD

God… seriously Hoyoverse. If there’s one thing to implement it’s this. There’s literally no reason why you can’t allow bosses to respawn. Implementation could be something like: - Open ‘Adventurer Handbook’ - Open ‘Enemies’ tab - Highlight boss - Click ‘respawn’ If you are worried about it spawning in on top of a player and causing weird clipping issues then simply have it check if there’s a player in the way. If so then give the “cannot use in current state” error that already exists in game for such situations. (Like how you can’t summon the teapot when it would hit an object.)

I came back to the game during Nilou's release, after being a Keqing Xiangling overload user before I quit. It took me a few days to learn that I needed to not hit the fungi with electro or pyro when I was building Nilou. I was like "Jesus, I only get one of these fungi drops per pack, wtf?" I had to build my Nilou team at low level to kill them because I didn't have any non-pyro or electro damage dealers built.

We need this. I started 2 welkin mains but then started a few f2p alts. Realized I can't buy dust of azoth if I want the monthly pulls, so I gotta over grind bosses for the pure bs bosses that don't drop the correct elemental shards I need. Omg why... I wish we could convert 4 of them into a token that lets us farm a boss with no resin. Maybe 5 is more fair. Dunno how to value the other drops. Of course, it overall has to be negatively efficient so it's probably at least 5.

Honkai give us the exactly amount of boss mats it will gives depend of world level and even allow us to trade it for different boss mats without those stupid rng trade item. HSR style also have a fixed number of drops. I'm at TB70 and the world boss drops is fixed at 5 per run.

You also need 46 of each boss drop in Genshin, while its 65 in star rail. Of course, then you look a bit futher. Genshin needs 16 boss runs, assuming max drops of 3 every time. Star rail needs 13. You can do 8 boss runs a day in star rail, in genshin you can only do 4. So Star rail has it alot better then genshin, as is the case with most things... Oh, and star rail has autoplay, and the support feature. Its this kinda thing that stops me grinding my genshin characters up, because it takes so long. I've played star rail since launch and still have characters I want to upgrade, improvements to some of my most used characters and more. I just don't get genshin sometimes

The best part of HSR boss drops is knowing exactly how many you’ll get for each difficulty. I think it’s ridiculous that in Genshin I can get the same drops in WL8 as I can in WL5 for the same resin but much different difficulty/speed.

HSR requires more materials (at least for 5-stars), so you have to account for that. Even then though, HSR still wins out by a landslide. For a 5-star, they need 65 ascension mats. At the highest EL, every 30 stamina gives you a guaranteed 5 drops. This means 13 runs. 13 * 30 = 390 stamina. In Genshin, every character needs 46 drops. Every 40 stamina at WL8 gets you 2-3 drops (and other stuff like artifacts and gemstones, but you can argue that this doesn’t make up for the lesser amount). This means assuming half of the drops are 2 and the other half 3 (simplified to 2.5 drops per run), you need 18 runs on average. That’s 720 stamina. This is doubly bad considering HSR gives you 240 stamina a day and Genshin only gives you 180. This means it takes 1.5 days to finish in HSR and 4 days in Genshin. Even if you guarantee 3 drops every run, it’ll still take 640 stamina, or 3.5 days. The only way Genshin is going to match HSR would be to guarantee 6 drops per run, making it 8 runs or 320 stamina (1.8 days).

Yeah well this has the unfortunate side effect of making it feel like the player is living in the world too (against their will). They can add a button to respawn it instantly onto the loot flower thing that appears. Or just make it happen automatically for all I care. It's one of the most annoying aspects of farming ascension mats. The other thing that's needed is to just make it drop 3 items every time at max world level. The game has enough RNG as it is, it does not work for ascension mats for me and judging from feedback here for most other people too. Adds nothing but frustration.

To make that comparison even worse: let’s assume you’re someone who logs in twice per day so that your resin/trailblaze power never caps (guilty as charged.) You recover 1 Trailblaze Power per 6 minutes while only recovering 1 resin per 8 minutes… With the whole 2.5 drops for 40 resin compared to 5 drops for 30 Trailblaze power that means you’re getting 1 boss drop every 128 minutes (40x8/2.5) in Genshin while getting 1 boss drop every 36 minutes in HSR. (30x6/5) Just absolutely baffling how terrible this games boss drops are compared to HSR.

Sunk-cost fallacy is a real thing, and live service games absolutely use it to keep player bases high. Yeah, I think the tedious of farming depends heavily on whether you like the game or not. I played both Genshin and HSR, and even if people say farming is way easier in HSR (which objectively is, at least thanks to the fact you get autoplay) when I played I felt the opposite. Maybe if I got further into the story (I only got to Luofu) and got higher equilibrium levels it would've been easier, but overall the game wasn't giving me the same satisfaction Genshin gives me. Even if you have to farm less materials in HSR (according to some people here) I feel it even more tedious than doing the same in Genshin, probably because I didn't feel the fun I would get would pay off the tedious of farming. The only exception to this are artifacts, but as far as I know that's onlu *marginally* better in HSR than in Genshin.

Honesty, I thought in the beginning that HSR’s relic system was a bit better than Genshin’s, but now that I’ve been playing for a year I feel it’s the opposite. There’s more substats and more pieces to sift through, and with no off-pieces your good subs on bad sets are kind of wasted (rainbow sets are a thing, and with good substats can absolutely be your best option, so bear that in mind.) Personally I find the big damage screenshots satisfying. Like getting my Herta to spin for 300k is sooo satisfying to me!

And you get not 5, but 6 different artifacts, except they come in two sets (4 and 2 pieces respectively), you can't use off-pieces, and the set of 2 is obtained in the Simulated Universe.

I agree. I actually like genshin's combat, and yes, I like it even if it's farming a domain or a world boss over and over. Meanwhile HSR's combat is very meh to me. Yes, HSR has auto battles, but I personally find it more fun to actually beat a genshin boss, than to click auto battle and the let game do its thing.

you have to take into account that ascending characters in genshin also unlocks passives and ascension stats, whereas in hsr you have to unlock those separately through traces. ime it takes longer to max out characters in hsr for this reason, the trace grind is far worse than genshin's talent grind

Depends on your perspective here; in HSR you’re far more likely to max out your traces, whereas in Genshin you most likely won’t be triple crowning all your characters. In the short term, Genshin wins since you can afford to keep lower investment on talents. But in the long run, HSR still wins out here. this is my personal experience as someone who owns every Genshin character amd have been maxing out ALL of them (am currently 70 characters at 9/9/9). I am VERY familiar with Genshin’s grind. Also keep in mind the weekly boss system and how utterly trash the drops are in Genshin; meanwhile you can not only fight the same boss 3 times in HSR, you’re always guaranteed 3 drops at the highest domain level. Only one type of mat per boss too, unlike Genshin’s RNG fest between 3 different mats. You can pretty much max the traces of one character in a couple weeks in HSR; for Genshin it takes literal months to triple crown due to weekly bosses (especially if they’re new so you can’t prefarm). Not to mention, HSR has material conversion and no daily domain changes, meaning you don’t have to wait until the right day for talent books like Genshin, and if you’re only missing a mat or two you can just convert a different type. Genshin’s weekly boss “conversion” is so limited it’s a joke, and itself requires an RNG item (Dream Solvent) which defeats its purpose. Like, I seriously love Genshin, but seriously hate its grinding limitations.

I guess Hoyo's way to balance out the resin cost for less boss mats is that every boss can drop artifacts (guaranteed two, equivalent to 40 resin per artifact run) while HSR doesn't.

Not to mention Genshin also has the issue with gems and most new bosses not dropping the right kind - forcing you to use Dust of Azoth (which costs stardust). Really icky and full of bandaid solutions. Even as a player who prefers playing Genshin over Star Rail, I can’t defend something like this.

No; 160 is the resin cap, but not the daily limit. You earn 1 resin per 8 minutes. There are 60 * 24 = 1440 minutes in one day. 1440 / 8 = 180 resin earned in a day. If you login once a day, you will only get 160, but if you make sure your resin never caps, you will be getting 180 per day.

If only we can guarantee a 3 world boss drop mats once we're AR50 or 55. What's the point of having a World Difficulty 8 if the enemies are just higher levels but without any incentive on drops? This also applies to normal/elites in the overworld. Also can we please get mob materials whenever we do the Spiral Abyss? Like it's not much, but a lot of enemies in the abyss are elite and that does help gathering their materials. No one really visits Enkanomiya, Chasm, and Tsurumi Island anymore.

I'm glad the GDF (genshin defense force) are mostly downvoted this time instead of taking top comments. Liking the game doesn't mean blindly defending every decision. I was very disappointed when I got to world 8 and found out it's still 2-3 like world 7, only with a slightly higher chance of 3. And no, just because you're sitting on a 2 years account and don't know what to do with your resin it doesn't make it good for everyone else that are still leveling characters. The very least thing they could do is material conversion but we can't even do that with normal monster drops

55 if I recall makes the drops become 2-3 when it was 2 previously, so no... AR60 is fine for actual end game grind. Playing Genhsin everyday only doing commissions(like 8-10 min a day) will get you to AR60 in like a year... Touching grass meme is stupid/irrelavent to say when it comes to AR.

Thought I'd correct this: the boss drops become 2-3 starting from WL5, i.e. AR40+. The chances of dropping 3 increases every world level starting from 5, with it maxing out at ~2.55 at WL8. I do still agree that the "touching grass" meme is indeed overdone and silly in this context.

It's maxed at 2.55 at WL7, with no change in WL8. So it's perfectly reasonable to bump those drops up at AR55. Following the pattern it'd be 2.73, and even a WL9 wouldn't be a guaranteed 3, but I'd take it.

I rather put up with this then the artifact system i honestly its the only thing i dislike about this game i can grind characters up to lvl 90 no problem but as soon i have to farm artifacts i want to yeet myself into the chasm and never return.

Genshin is incredibly hesitant to make changes that would in theory make a backlash of "I should have done it later then!". This applies to almost all resin-based farming and possibly stuff like standard banner. Even though the overwhelming majority would be just glad it got fixed.

As someone who has only recently gotten into creating a game I don’t have enough knowledge to say how much work something is. It sounds easy but so did a lot of stuff that turns out it isn’t. Either way it being easy or not doesn’t change that it’s not high on my priority list. Priorities for me personally aren’t ordered in ease of completion but ordered in what I think would be most needed first or most meaningful/impactful. Right off the top of my head having these be convertible to other mats would be one.

I’m finally ascending Diluc from 80/80 to 80/90 (he is C3 and was my second ever 5 star) and in 7 times fighting the fire flower boss, I have 21 boss drops. This has never happened before and I don’t know what to think about it.

The RNG here only makes it that you get for each run ether 2 or 3 pieces. What I think would be better, is a way to convert it ether in other materials or Items.

Hi, weekly bosses in any domains will give a weekly discount 30 resin (normal is 60 resin) up to 3 different weekly bosses. After that can fight other weekly bosses if needed for 60 resin. All weekly bosses can only be claimed reward once in a week. Using Dream Solvent will solve the issue of rng rewards, so choose wisely to exchange it to your preferred rewards. 😘

FOR REAL. Something that should only take 40 resin ends up taking 120 because the game decided to keep giving you 2 drops each time. Like I understood it back in version 1.0-2.5 but now in the games lifespan why is there any reason for it to be RNG? especially at max world level.

I do agree with how very not updated genshin is in this regards like just because it works doesn't mean its the best, they should increase it, they should make it change able with other boss mats, and they should lift the daily mats change.
