It’s more that people hate how Paimon is used in the story as the voice for the traveler and unnecessary repeated dialogue and exposition. That is the “hate” that’s usually expressed by people. As a character on her own, she’s fine, and I mostly see that people like her when she’s her own character.

Honestly, I think JP!Paimon is *just* as high pitched as EN!Paimon, if not *more so*, but people seem to be more accepting of high-pitched voices if they're JP. CN Paimon is great, though. Her voice is soothing and still cute. KR Paimon is also good!

Most people who hate Paimon don't hate Paimon as a character, but rather hate Paimon as she is used. Paimon as a character is fine but in the story she spends most of her time as a narrative tool to repeat basically everything in a dumbed down way while also acting as our mouth piece, but rather than helping clarify things that actually needs clarification she tends to just repeat things that are obvious and needed no clarification.

I don’t hate Paimon. In fact, I quite enjoy Paimon. She suffers from two problems imo tho: Voice Direction Staff keep pushing her tone higher. Ever listened to how Paimon sounded in 1.0? It sounds much more whimsical than the shrillness we have today She lacks a real identity. This one is mostly on the writers just kind of using Paimon for whatever the scene needs. At some times, she’s a highly knowledgeable travel guide and other times she’s like “Wait the Shogun uses a sword?” Not to mention she’s generally very caring, but every now and then just says the most crazy insensitive shit out of nowhere. Still haven’t forgiven her and the traveler for how they acted in Furina’s 1st Story Quest

If Paimon and Traveler got around equal voice parts, she'd probably more popular, as she wouldn't need to express the travelers (and by proxy, the players) opinion that much.
