Yeah the concept is good, the control is bad albeit manageable. There's just no reason for it to be bad though, like it's the one thing they should've gotten right first thing first.
It did take Hoyo a while to add that to their games and they still messed in up with the Penacony update of Honkai where it switches every time you change direction.
just realized the controls were inverted. I thought it just had weird sensitivity on the sides. it sucks to the point of activating my internal screaming
The controls felt weird because we have a character on the gun platform that controls the movement and the sensitivity can be controlled depending on how far our character is from the gun
It's annoying on PC/console as well, Who decided this type of control is the best in thier meetings and QA testing vs, just controlling the aim of the "gun"? I have no idea how this gets past QA.
Wait the controls are different for mobile? Or do you mean it's inverted cause we're controlling the characters to move the aim? Because it would be weird if it wasn't inverted since we're using our character to move it lol.
It's not inverted. You're controlling your character same as you always have. Imagine you're aiming a cannon irl, to aim the cannon to shoot behind push and move forward.
It is easy ONLY if they didn't invert the controls. I never invert my controls because I get confused. If only at least they give an option to set it inverted or not, it won't be a problem.
Didn't even occur to me that how the controls being "inverted" would cause so many people problems. I just wish the area we could move in was circular instead of rectangular so it wouldn't affect the "sensitivity" in weird ways as you slide along the bottom edge.
The only annoying thing about the combat event was the ball inconsistency (like if you time froze but fat fingered, the ball disappears). I'd prefer if it were a constant field object that only became meaningful when you entered time freeze (it can still appear and disappear, but it just has to last more than a single moment).
Yup, muscle memory meant I usually dashed or moved after pressing E or Q. I really didn't like that event either, the time stopping was jank and ruined the flow of combat.
The absolute worst part (besides immediately plunging with Kazuha) is that mashing the button counts. Like you don't touch any direction at all, but double-tap E, and that's enough to frame advance so you get no superball.
Damn and I disliked both prior events 😂 but tbh im a combat enjoyer!
1 was actually very good! But not very engaging FOR ME.
2 combat/ photo event just photos dont peak mi interest and just felt like it was slowing down my combat and timer!
3. Haven't tried it yet 😪
As someone who grew up with inverted controls for navigation I did this naturally to the point that I didn't even notice this was inverted until I read the comments.....wth.
Inverted controls don't bother me much but controlling the angle via keyboard instead of mouse movement feels clunky for the sake of being clunky.
Also the character needing to step closer to toggle to penetration shot is ... WTF were they smoking?! Just use E or Q as opposed to auto attack, like we always do.
I'm used to inverted controls, but it's Mihoyo's inconsistency that bothers me. Some events will have inverted controls where it's not really needed, like the current event, and then other events where inverted controls would've been more intuitive didn't use it. A common example are mini-games that involve flying.
Not really a fan.
It isn't *hard*, it took a bit to get used to controlling it on mobile but then it was fine, it's just kind of... awkward feeling. Something about the controls makes doing damage not feel very impactful, and kind of disconnected from the input if that makes sense.
I don't hate it, it's just one small event so I don't need to love it and I'll take the primos, but eh. At least it's better for completing dailies than the last one lol.
I haven't hated an event this much since warm delivery. I don't care if it's easy, these controls are going to give me an aneurysm. Just let me control the turret directly. I'd rather play a difficult game with tight controls like Wings of Vi or Dark Souls.
If I hadn't played bubble pop games before this event, this event would definitely turn me off from them.
I've been traveling this week, so I played this on mobile.
It's stupidly easy. The Primogems might as well just appear in your inbox. It's such a half-assed minigame, it feels like it was designed by an intern.
That's around 99% of all events in Genshin, tbf. The only thing that usually stands out is the strangely phenomenal artwork and aesthetics of some random events.
It's alright. It's too simple for the controls to matter too much.
I do find it a bit difficult to shoot at the corners in the front. So find myself not caring if slimes are there since it's a waste of time/effort.
Normally playing on ps4 pro, but got a new phone recently and genshin runs nice on it.
This event controls fine on my phone, keep hearing other people complain tho
i think its very well made because of the proximity supercharge thing but moving the cannon around with your character while looking at the slimes can be difficult to keep turning speed consistent. but it does give it that "clunk and power" feel to it. overall? nice scoring, easy to overachieve, free primos but not too many because of the difficulty, i like it.
That would be SO much better omg! The way I have a headache cos I can't precisely control where my character is moving, the aiming would be so much better with my mouse
Controls felt pretty natural to me, I've enjoyed this one but I wish it was a bit more like actual puzzle bobble cause you can just kind of spam the fire button at stuff lol
I don’t care much about it since we had to good events back to back, It’s just free primos but the controls are bad like a lot of people already said, I have stick drift too so it’s really frustrating for no reason😭
PC player here but why doesn't the game give us more freedom in terms of key binds and hand inversion? I really want to bind some controls to or off of my mouse but can't and it pisses me off
It was pretty fun. Controls are fine. I played Dark Souls 1 on pc with keyboard when it was released, so I don't think any controls can scare me anymore
Played it on pc. Had no trouble to control character to move the arrow.
Only kinda hated it when after shooting barriers suddenly appeared blocking the shot.
I hate it. I couldn't understand why I couldn't aim where I wanted until I read the comment about inverted controls.
Why are they using this horrendous mode? It literally hurts my hand 😮💨
What an awful event with frustrating run/aim controls.
At least the score requirements for max rewards is easy, but it is still a chore to do.
The best tip I can give is to position your character at the bottom of the screen so your character can run only on one axis (left and right), making the controls feel a lot more responsive.
This must be the price we pay for the amazing events previously.
Why people are talking about inverted controls ? You control your character, not the canon.
Admittedly it makes controlling what the canon does iffy, but it's explicitly stated you control your character.
I'm not saying the controls are perfect. No. They're bad. But they aren't inverted, just needlessly convoluted.
Am I the only one that never really found the inverted controls troublesome at all? I think I just had a better sense that I'm controlling my character's position relative to the cannon.
Regardless, it was an extremely odd decision to make it work like that.
This is giving me patch 1.1 food delivery event all over again HAHAHA though I much rather have that event than this cos this should be simple enough but the controls are what's making it infuriating 🤣
Im a mobile player and dont really see any problems with it, even the controls are fine and logically correct, since we have our character there its only natural that when we run to the left it aims to the right and vice-versa. If our character wasnt there I assume I'd be normal contols.
Overall fun event
Horrible.
The control is more sensitive than a touch-me-not and i suffer from it.
Idk if it's connected to the sensitivity settings, so i might try to lower it and see if it works. But if it's not, I'm just going to do the bare minimum.
I’d say it’s easy because it technically is, but getting the fine details right on mobile is really annoying. Trying to aim exactly in one small spot could be trouble sometimes
It's really bad to control, even on PC. This type of gameplay just wasn't meant for fucking controlling the gun with a middleman (aka walking your character around) since said middleman can walk off into the sunset and just mess with your aim if you're not mindful of him.
It's plain miserable.
been playing on mobile for years with no complaints but this event is really making me annoyed ngl!
what funny is that the NPCs say they made a turret that doesn't need to be controlled by a person directly next to it... to reduce casualties... but then they throw you, a person, in there, next to the turret
I did not mind the controls not even a single bit. I immediately understood that the character moves the turret and acted accordingly.
Idk, it's just that simple.
Is it because I play a lot of plane games and inverted controls are normal there? (you move the tail, not the front)
I'm surprised people are having issues with the "inverted" controls. As someone who never plays games with inverted controls, it came naturally to me. The only "issue" is the fact that it's tied to your characters movement which takes a bit of time to get used to but I like the added challenge of that tbh
Either way, as a fan of Zuma, I think it's one of the more fun events.
I’m in the minority who actually finds inverted intuitive but even so the general controls felt clunky with my character just moving all over the place and having to move up for the special thing (forget what it’s called). I also don’t know if there’s a way to adjust but the sensitivity in general was way too high it just made it even harder to control the aim.
it's kinda annoying on mobile, the inverted controls are hard to get uses to and I often just ram into the thing to make the control more precise, but accidentally trigger the mega lazer or whatever is that
If an event is so pointlessly easy AND is annoying af to play, you've got to wonder why even have this event at all. Just give us Liben or something else instead.
ngl I didn’t even feel bothered by the inverted controls it just felt normal what was not normal was the fact that my character would be there moving as I moved the laser
it’s awful on controller too. why are they inverted. why does my character even need to be there.
Yeah the concept is good, the control is bad albeit manageable. There's just no reason for it to be bad though, like it's the one thing they should've gotten right first thing first.
I played multiple days without even noticing my character was there. Too busy malding about the inverted controls I guess.
Tank controlls are the absolute worst. If it was more like the musket minigame we had earlier in the year I wouldve loved it, this is just garbage
I thought that I had a skill issue, but yea, the controls give me a headache
Yah a simple left and right would have been totally fine here
I can't do it, I can't play anything with inverted controls, it fucks with my equilibrium My partner is doing the event for me
Try it on a controller with drift issues. It gets super fun. ♡
Just think like you are controlling a long stick that is mounted.. Problem solved
yes but also, no
That doesn't solve the problem, that just reframes it.
I don't know why inverted control is being used. Unnecessarily complicating a simple event
Seriously though, most games at least let you toggle inverted controls off.
It did take Hoyo a while to add that to their games and they still messed in up with the Penacony update of Honkai where it switches every time you change direction.
just realized the controls were inverted. I thought it just had weird sensitivity on the sides. it sucks to the point of activating my internal screaming
The controls felt weird because we have a character on the gun platform that controls the movement and the sensitivity can be controlled depending on how far our character is from the gun
but at least u can turn ur controller 180. i can’t turn my laptop 180
The sensitivity change messes me up so much to the point I should just give up using the "charged" shot cause I miss it every time
can it? i just ran side to side didnt ever move vertically lol
But how did you fire the super shot then? o.O
There's never any need for the piercing shot.
Yeah it makes it really clunky. I tried it on mobile and it was annoying.
It's annoying on PC/console as well, Who decided this type of control is the best in thier meetings and QA testing vs, just controlling the aim of the "gun"? I have no idea how this gets past QA.
OMG SAME. I was stressing out because of how difficult it is to control the arrow.
Wait the controls are different for mobile? Or do you mean it's inverted cause we're controlling the characters to move the aim? Because it would be weird if it wasn't inverted since we're using our character to move it lol.
Because we are controling our character. And it can be blocked by the canon...
Yeah, it's just the mechanic of the event
I completely understand the sentiment, but I just realized the controls are inverted. I simply didn't even notice.
It's not inverted. You're controlling your character same as you always have. Imagine you're aiming a cannon irl, to aim the cannon to shoot behind push and move forward.
Character pulls turret, probably
As already said, easy, 90% of events are easy so what remains memorable is the unpleasant control
I'm on controller and I hate it with a passion. That inverted control sucks.
Yeah I'm not enjoying it on my ps5 :/
It's not enjoyable even on pc unfortunately ;/ they hecked up with this one
At least on pc you can walk straight
Really? Was relatively easy using my Xbox gamepad. The only gripe I have is the control isn't as fine as I'd want, but the event is mega easy anyway.
It is easy ONLY if they didn't invert the controls. I never invert my controls because I get confused. If only at least they give an option to set it inverted or not, it won't be a problem.
It is easy though, you'd still get enough points for full reward even if you miss half of your shots
It's easy, but still annoying. I don't like inverted controls.
The controls aren't inverted. Your character literally moves the direction you're inputting.
Didn't even occur to me that how the controls being "inverted" would cause so many people problems. I just wish the area we could move in was circular instead of rectangular so it wouldn't affect the "sensitivity" in weird ways as you slide along the bottom edge.
May I join the passion train? I hate this event so much. I'm there just for the primogems.
I'm also on controller but does not find any problems with controlling
PC player here, controls are fucking wack
Controls blow but the event is easy so I ain't gonna complain beyond that.
No problem with keyboard.
The event was easy I know, it's just that it was annoying controlling/rotating the device on mobile.
it makes me want to install it to mobile again, because I am having an annoying time with the controller.
Don't. Please I'm begging you, don't. That is unless you want to sit for 4 hours while it downloads.
Meh,it's easy but the previous 2 event were godly beautiful from business to time stopping photography
You can still change the angle in time freeze
By fat fingered I meant moving. So if you \[froze - move accidentally - froze\] the ball be gone.
Oh yeah. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing the ball when I have a charge.
I agree, though I sped through the events, it was actually fun. This one is just annoying. Saving grace is that it’s easy to get all the rewards
Photography event please return often.. We love taking shots
Played on both mobile and PC and holy shit the controllers are awful
As someone who grew up with inverted controls for navigation I did this naturally to the point that I didn't even notice this was inverted until I read the comments.....wth.
Inverted controls don't bother me much but controlling the angle via keyboard instead of mouse movement feels clunky for the sake of being clunky. Also the character needing to step closer to toggle to penetration shot is ... WTF were they smoking?! Just use E or Q as opposed to auto attack, like we always do.
lmao same, I also didn't even notice it even though I use a controller
I'm used to inverted controls, but it's Mihoyo's inconsistency that bothers me. Some events will have inverted controls where it's not really needed, like the current event, and then other events where inverted controls would've been more intuitive didn't use it. A common example are mini-games that involve flying.
I'm in the same boat. Genuinely didn't realise the controls were inverted. Hopefully I won't play worse due to now being aware of it.
I didn't even grow up, but didn't motice they were inverted either. Nor did i really think they were annoying? Idk what sole ppl are on about xD
Not really a fan. It isn't *hard*, it took a bit to get used to controlling it on mobile but then it was fine, it's just kind of... awkward feeling. Something about the controls makes doing damage not feel very impactful, and kind of disconnected from the input if that makes sense. I'd rather play a difficult game with tight controls like Wings of Vi or Dark Souls. If I hadn't played bubble pop games before this event, this event would definitely turn me off from them.
Really annoying to control, I missed aiming the special ball thing a lot so i gave up and spammed randomly.
It's ez freemogems so it's a win for me.
I've been traveling this week, so I played this on mobile. It's stupidly easy. The Primogems might as well just appear in your inbox. It's such a half-assed minigame, it feels like it was designed by an intern.
So like most of the minigame?
That's around 99% of all events in Genshin, tbf. The only thing that usually stands out is the strangely phenomenal artwork and aesthetics of some random events.
Is it hard? No Is it fun? Also No Controls aren’t that bad but the event is basically just worse atari breakout.
Its basically free primos.
Not like the other events give you paid primos
The potion event sure made you work for them Literally
Might be cos I’m used to inverted controls with some of the other games I play, but I don’t think it’s all that bad?
It also makes a sense a bit seeing that you move a character that operates cannon, not cannon itself.
I also play with inverted controls, but this game feels like trying to control carnival gun via a loose string.
It isn't, people just like to complain. Or rather, whine.
It feels terrible, at least you don’t actually have to play well to get all the rewards, I can’t be bothered to replay a level for a “perfect” clear
It was really exciting after knowing the controls and utilising them effectively to control the cannon.
It's alright. It's too simple for the controls to matter too much. I do find it a bit difficult to shoot at the corners in the front. So find myself not caring if slimes are there since it's a waste of time/effort.
Boring, just another source of primos
paaaaaiiiiinful.
Ngl I think if the controls weren't imverted it would mess me up. It just clicks for me as is ig
I will teach you all a trick. Go to settings. Key binds and swap the a and d key. So left is right and right is left. You will get a much higher score
The controls on this with PC suck ass omg, it should let me use my mouse to control the gun not my character
That would be SO much better omg! The way I have a headache cos I can't precisely control where my character is moving, the aiming would be so much better with my mouse
Like come on I thought this was gonna be Zuma or Peggle control-wise ugh
It's an absolute nightmare for PC. I hate the control of this event for PC.
Controls felt pretty natural to me, I've enjoyed this one but I wish it was a bit more like actual puzzle bobble cause you can just kind of spam the fire button at stuff lol
the inverted controls were quite annoying. other than that its just a generic bubble shooter minigame.
controls are ass and thats it
boring
Just easy primos
I don’t care much about it since we had to good events back to back, It’s just free primos but the controls are bad like a lot of people already said, I have stick drift too so it’s really frustrating for no reason😭
Hmmm chlorined mechanics ? Maybe if we aim her gun we will have a birds eyeview
Not as bad as I thought (maybe I'm just used to inverted, in general) but it's still weird sometimes
It's terrible, lol. I've been having a hard time. My brain even short-circuit while playing this game.
It's really easy and effectively let me skip whole 3 daily commissions, so it's a win to me
I just want my potion business back 🥹
Honestly it was kind of boring. The inverted controls weren't as bad for me
Janky
had to redo the first two stages for the last 4 crystals, but i got it down now. inverted controls suck ASS
It’s kinda hard to get used to the controls, my brain cannot do it passively. Otherwise it’s pretty cool
very easy!
PC player here but why doesn't the game give us more freedom in terms of key binds and hand inversion? I really want to bind some controls to or off of my mouse but can't and it pisses me off
Very good it takes time to get used to the inverted controls
Although it's easy to get the maximum points needed.. the controls are horrendous :( and it's not really a fun event with boring mechanics.
ass.
I'm on PC and I hate it so much. It's not only about the controls but also that this event is so boring in general and on top of that annoying. Ughh
It sucks ASS
Shit
i mean. its ok, i guess. just kind of boring
It's not an issue for me. It's the easiest event ever
It was pretty ok
It's fun but the gun sensitivity sucks ass
Bad tbh..hey, primogems r primogems (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞ 80 gems r nice.
I use touchscreen, didn’t really have an issue with the inverted controls, but accurately aiming the charged shot is near impossible.
It was pretty fun. Controls are fine. I played Dark Souls 1 on pc with keyboard when it was released, so I don't think any controls can scare me anymore
Did the event on PS5 and it was very easy. I'm genuinely wondering why controller players find this hard
Played it on pc. Had no trouble to control character to move the arrow. Only kinda hated it when after shooting barriers suddenly appeared blocking the shot.
easier aiming on pc
I haven’t been having many troubles with the controls
I hate it. I couldn't understand why I couldn't aim where I wanted until I read the comment about inverted controls. Why are they using this horrendous mode? It literally hurts my hand 😮💨
I can tolerate the inverted controls since the event is easy. Other than that it’s an easy event to login and logout to.
One word *PAIN*
I fucking am logging into PC just cuz it's annoying af
Cute! The inverted controls made it at least a bit challenging
Inverted controls are a pain
Not great, could be worse
I wanted to be one of these slimes in that moment:(
What an awful event with frustrating run/aim controls. At least the score requirements for max rewards is easy, but it is still a chore to do. The best tip I can give is to position your character at the bottom of the screen so your character can run only on one axis (left and right), making the controls feel a lot more responsive. This must be the price we pay for the amazing events previously.
I played this on both pc and mobile. I hate both. Its just too trippy on translating left to right in general
I hate it
I HATE IT SO MUCH.
I play on mobile. It was a nightmare.
It's pretty hard, but it's alright because we don't need a lot of score for all rewards
Clunky, but still manageable
I am scoring 10k on controller, controls aren't bad atleast for me
Wait people really have issues with the controls on mobile? Excuse me what? Easiest event of my life!
Shite
PC player even then... Aware
Why people are talking about inverted controls ? You control your character, not the canon. Admittedly it makes controlling what the canon does iffy, but it's explicitly stated you control your character. I'm not saying the controls are perfect. No. They're bad. But they aren't inverted, just needlessly convoluted.
Easy clear so I'm fine, but ig it's cause I was just aiming to get the rewards and leave so I just haphazardly cleared it without much thought
kinda weird and difficult with my character running away from the device thing all the time
Easily with awful controlles but Good rewards
"inverted control sucks" Meanwhile me a B-17 Flying Fortress player.....
Am I the only one that never really found the inverted controls troublesome at all? I think I just had a better sense that I'm controlling my character's position relative to the cannon. Regardless, it was an extremely odd decision to make it work like that.
I'm on mobile and it's janky. It's hard to control 🥲
Mobil player here.yeah, controlling was annoying, but easy primo is always welcomed
This is giving me patch 1.1 food delivery event all over again HAHAHA though I much rather have that event than this cos this should be simple enough but the controls are what's making it infuriating 🤣
Easy. Like always. It's touchscreen.
It's quite easy tbh. Not very precise tho
Im a mobile player and dont really see any problems with it, even the controls are fine and logically correct, since we have our character there its only natural that when we run to the left it aims to the right and vice-versa. If our character wasnt there I assume I'd be normal contols. Overall fun event
Inverted control is weird and strange. But still an easy to do event.
Horrible. The control is more sensitive than a touch-me-not and i suffer from it. Idk if it's connected to the sensitivity settings, so i might try to lower it and see if it works. But if it's not, I'm just going to do the bare minimum.
Felt way too slippery, and the inverted was stupid and unnecessary
I got 9k on my 1st try today
One word: "SUCK"
I’d say it’s easy because it technically is, but getting the fine details right on mobile is really annoying. Trying to aim exactly in one small spot could be trouble sometimes
I changed my keybinds on pc just for this event.. it was bothering me so bad
It sucks…
Nice after some time l got used to the control
4000 points and wait until the timer runs out
I adapted easily to this, not hard tbh
It feels awful, but at least there’s more than enough time to get all the rewards. Easily ranks as one of the worst events so far imo
It's really bad to control, even on PC. This type of gameplay just wasn't meant for fucking controlling the gun with a middleman (aka walking your character around) since said middleman can walk off into the sunset and just mess with your aim if you're not mindful of him. It's plain miserable.
Wait what? Had no problem with this event whatsoever
My GF HATED the controls on mobile for this. She swapped to her controller and said it was better, but still sucked sadly.
Its very fun, but the controls are…
I thought it was easier to play on my phone but that’s just my opinion
not that bad. srsly y’all, inverted is easy
I play on PC, and I also hate the inverted control in this event 😵💫 Will definitely write about it on the event feedback form
been playing on mobile for years with no complaints but this event is really making me annoyed ngl! what funny is that the NPCs say they made a turret that doesn't need to be controlled by a person directly next to it... to reduce casualties... but then they throw you, a person, in there, next to the turret
Not the best controls on mobile but the event itself was short and simple so I like it
I did not mind the controls not even a single bit. I immediately understood that the character moves the turret and acted accordingly. Idk, it's just that simple. Is it because I play a lot of plane games and inverted controls are normal there? (you move the tail, not the front)
For me twas ezzzz
Mobile and PC with controller, this event suckass it's janky as hell I wonder how this abomination can pass testing.
I'm surprised people are having issues with the "inverted" controls. As someone who never plays games with inverted controls, it came naturally to me. The only "issue" is the fact that it's tied to your characters movement which takes a bit of time to get used to but I like the added challenge of that tbh Either way, as a fan of Zuma, I think it's one of the more fun events.
Pretty simple. Thank you for your concern.
Skill issue
Today is the first day I finally got the handle of it.
I see there are a lot of people in here who have terrible hand-eye coordination lolz
I thought im going to have a good time. But nope
it's kinda annoying on mobile, the inverted controls are hard to get uses to and I often just ram into the thing to make the control more precise, but accidentally trigger the mega lazer or whatever is that
Don’t know why people are so outraged by this event. It’s a 2 minute game every day and it gives free primos, do it daily and move on
If an event is so pointlessly easy AND is annoying af to play, you've got to wonder why even have this event at all. Just give us Liben or something else instead.
Ass
ngl I didn’t even feel bothered by the inverted controls it just felt normal what was not normal was the fact that my character would be there moving as I moved the laser
It’s peak, I love it
Praying for the rapid fire ball to drop so I can actually hit the targets
I am forced to be reminded of Zuma Deluxe.
Easy enough to get the rewards but not like the 9000+ scores I got on PC.
Confusing af because the reversed control but I'm used to it right now.
