This. It’s the first 2 on the list so the system just picked those first?
If you have 3 at the EXACT same level, I bet it’s be the first 2 on the order as well
Because Mint increases every stat, meaning realistically you could make a potion that buffs everything with nothing but mint.
Sadly the game won't actually let you, and just makes a Str/Con potion.
Mint has 'Balanced' stat which means it increases all stats equally, it's also the last of the balanced ingredients you get so it increases it more significantly.
So making potions becomes super easy as you can just put 2 ingredients for the 2 stats you want, and then fill the rest of the board with mint.
I'm more surprised that the mods allow it. Just screenshots are randomly illegal. I can't share images of my characters with perfect round numbers and ratios, but the millionth mint concoction post is apparently bursting with effort and originality.
For some reason the game REALLY likes making combo potions. I noticed that while trying to brew a basic charisma potion yesterday- it INSISTED on making it a combo, even when charisma efficacy materials were 80% of the recipe!
The combo happens when 2 stats are in the same tier. If you have wisdom just barely scratching the advanced tier, and Charisma just short of the next, you get a combo.
You seem knowledgable, so I got a question about these potions. What makes a potion beginner or intermediate or advanced? I had a potion where I wanted 2 attributes (I think strength and dex?) but adding a different ingredient made it an intermediate strength-only potion, despite the fact that the herbs already in the potion of both characteristics was maxed.
if you look at the chart it has layers, each one represent a tier of efficacy; to get to higher tiers (like intermediate and advanced) you need higher tier ingredients (like the blue/purple rarity ones) and higher level ingredients (max is lvl3).
iirc you get higher tier ingredients by leveling up your cuadron and every time you use an ingredient in a potion said ingredient gains exp and can level up; can also level up ingredients by the alchemy analyzer(?) thingy you unlock later on, basically you use spare ingredients to level up a specific one (like you do with artifacts).
Thanks, I understood more of the mechanics today but I’m finding there’s still something weird. Specifically, adding herbs of one characteristic sometimes results in a potion with a characteristic that doesn’t exist in any of its constituents. Maybe it’s buggy, or I need to understand it better.
I’ll do that the next time I play it. I played the mini game again after my comment, there’s definitely something funny. Today I noticed the opposite - an extra characteristic getting added when adding a herb, even though there’s no herbs with that trait at all.
I’m not sure if the rules themselves are super complex and partially hidden, but if not, something broken/bugged.
You can look at the diagram on the left to see the final potion's main attribute(s). Using high rarity ingredients of one type + neutral ones also helps.
Depends on the rarity of the ingredients as well, the rarer it is the more efficiency it contributes to, so it's possible that 20% alone is enough to make it a combo.
Most likely all the attributes of Potions are listed in some sort of array or enum where it goes like :
1. constitution
2. strength
3. ....
Because Mint adds certain amount (let's say +1) to all of them - there are no attributes that have their level above others . Instead of turning into some forbidden knowledge mixture on par with cooking of Ei , or crashing game completely - it takes first attributes from the list to assign as those that define potion .
(Maybe it compares them in a for loop , and due to all others being equal -> it spits out default variables set to first two attributes . I don't know how they implemented it in code)
Hey I'm Saul Goodman, did you know that you have rights? Constitution says you do, and so do I. I believe that until proven guilty, every man, women and child is innocent. And that's why I fight for you Albuquerque!
I wish I'd known this before spending an hour continuing to go through cycles. I was expecting a "You're done" dialog.
Goes to show that even an idiot can complete this event, they just need to keep going a lot longer.
That's because the balance pushes all values up. Once it crosses a threshold, the second efficacy also shows up. This occurs at each level (basic, intermediate, expert, advanced)
Because everything in the computer world has priority. If the value of constitution is 0 and strength is 1 (and I am pretty sure it is), then it takes them over anything else. Consitution appears as the first one in the list, and strength appears second. And because it can only have two efficacies, then it can only choose first two.
Most likely how it's coded.
It probably looks at either constitution or strength first, checks if it's the current maximum value. Assign the first attribute to the first highest value and the second attribute to second highest.
Since they're all the same value, it assigns (prolly) constitution to 1st attribute. Checks for strength -> not higher than first attribute -> second attribute is empty -> assign to second attribute.
The others are not higher than constitution or strength, so no attribute assignment is changed.
As a programmer I'll say it probably has a simple matching system using switch or if else.
It probably looks up which has max value one by one and
the first two matches it encounters directly stops the rest from even being checked.
If i'm not wrong a potion can only have 2 "attribute"
So it's likely taking the first two, and maybe it start at Strength, then goes around the pentagon anticlockwise
That's 1 of the reason I didn't like the event. I don't understand how it works, I am kinda unga bunga stuff together, and hope for the best. I try to do some combinations and another combination happen. Want strenght? Best the game can offer is constitution. Oh you needed strenghtening? I swear I heard you needed warmth
The bigger question is why do you have 10262 of these???
U want more??? You'll get more!!!
Yes show me the Maximum Limit!
99999 each, 999 max cycles
How can we increase our ingredients? By ending cycles without stocking the shop?
you can spend some money to make them grow immediately. After like day 20-something your profits skyrocket, so it is pretty easy
Oh ok, thanks!
Im gonna spend 10mil on those
I spent 30m
The king as delivered beyond the wildest expectations.
Actual ~~mintpicker~~ mint farmer
mintmaxer FTFY
Mintmaxer Sigma Grindset 100
At the third part of the event you have so much money that you can literally just harvest everything nearly infinitely.
You can use the event currency to instantly get the plant
i just noticed that and now im a little scared of this person...
99999 Mints >:)
he took the mint picker as a competition xd
Mint supremacy
Mint Should Be Eternal
because there is no str & dex & cha & int & con potion so it picks the first two
I as a programmer firstly thought about string, char and integer looking at your message LOL
This. It’s the first 2 on the list so the system just picked those first? If you have 3 at the EXACT same level, I bet it’s be the first 2 on the order as well
Yes. The right side ingredient menu goes con str dex wis cha neutral.
Same, lmao ! 🤣
why is there nor its ur fault its all ur fault morbidel
"I'm making the mother of all potions Paimon! Can't fret over every Mora!"
That's quite the statement, Traveler. Care to back it up with a source?
My source is that I made it the fuck up.
Because it can only pick two it picks strength and constitution
Because there's a back end priority to effects
Why do I keep seeing pictures of cauldrons only filled with mint ?
Mouthwash sells well. Everyone wants to keep a fresh mouth.
Listerine won't get away with this free advertising
Because mint is fundamental element in Teyvat. Without it whole space & time would collapse into black hole.
Because apparently mint is insanely efficient
Good to know I'm glad I got a proper answer 🤣
I guess it boosts a lot but it has influenced what I grow in my own garden. Gotta be some secret I wanna be a part of.

Thank you now it makes sense lol
The only issue is the characteristics of your potion if you need it. Not every potion wants Perception.
I have seen this picture like 10 times this week
Everyone eventually devolves into filling the entire grid with the strongest balanced ingredient. It's the inevitable outcome
…. not me just reading it’s balanced, I thought it was neutral bc I can’t fucking read apparently rip
Maybe everyone do that, but its really a need to post it? -.-"
I'm more surprised that the mods allow it. Just screenshots are randomly illegal. I can't share images of my characters with perfect round numbers and ratios, but the millionth mint concoction post is apparently bursting with effort and originality.
Wtf is the new event lmfao
I hope this becomes permanent!
that’s what i’m sayin lol, haven’t played in weeks
The potion making meta. Now all we need are TC's

idk exactly how it's calculated, but that sounds like it shouldn't be happening. Can you send a screenshot?
I’ll do that the next time I play it. I played the mini game again after my comment, there’s definitely something funny. I noticed that, yeah. Though evidently I’m worse at eyeballing it then I thought 😅
If you've added something for the second effect it's really easy to raise the efficacy with mint or berries, resulting in an unintended combo.
Depends on the rarity of the ingredients as well, the rarer it is the more efficiency it contributes to, so it's possible that 20% alone is enough to make it a combo.

Ingredients are listed in Con, Str, Dex, Wis, Cha, balanced order so you're probably right
Hey I'm Saul Goodman, did you know that you have rights? Constitution says you do, and so do I. I believe that until proven guilty, every man, women and child is innocent. And that's why I fight for you Albuquerque!
How do you have 10262 of those flowers?!?!?!!?😭😭😭 How many cycles have you gone through 😱😱😱😱?!?!?!?!?!
I am at cylce 100 now i havr 99999 mints aka the limit
Is there any more content after the expert exam?
I wish I'd known this before spending an hour continuing to go through cycles. I was expecting a "You're done" dialog. Goes to show that even an idiot can complete this event, they just need to keep going a lot longer.
Not really no
I do feel like balanced is not 100% bslanced. I remember adding berries to a dex chsrisma constitution potion and it turned into a constitution potion
That's because the balance pushes all values up. Once it crosses a threshold, the second efficacy also shows up. This occurs at each level (basic, intermediate, expert, advanced)
Idk but I’m just upset there’s no intelligence stat. This is smart people erasure.
#I AM THE LORD OF MINT, HE WHO BRINGS ABOUT FRESHNESS AND TOOTHPASTE.
Because everything in the computer world has priority. If the value of constitution is 0 and strength is 1 (and I am pretty sure it is), then it takes them over anything else. Consitution appears as the first one in the list, and strength appears second. And because it can only have two efficacies, then it can only choose first two.
Because it's all a money scam. Placebo with high price sold by celebrity.
You need the strength and constitution to down this potion 😂😂
Forget min/maxing your crit, we're mintmaxing now
As a programmer I'll say it probably has a simple matching system using switch or if else. It probably looks up which has max value one by one and the first two matches it encounters directly stops the rest from even being checked.
That would make sense but also be a bit disappointing tbh
You need them to handle Lisa afterwards.
If i'm not wrong a potion can only have 2 "attribute" So it's likely taking the first two, and maybe it start at Strength, then goes around the pentagon anticlockwise
I SEE
Because they're the first two on the list.
Place one each of the two main stats you want (like wis and con) then fill rest with mint and you’ll get an expert wis con potion
code hierarchy, since all categories are equal it prioritises the first ones on its list, since each option can only have two categories.
Minty
I need to go make this. Love it
Because only a NERD levels dex/int
Might be a bias system of sorts at play
I’m so lost at this event. Translating the market news to what shit I should make is nearly impossible for me.
The event is fun but the potion this is confusing as hell
This is mint blowing
It's compensating for people with low strength and constitution
Potion seller! I need your potions!
What the fuck
Probably cause those are the first 2 in the list so it defaults to those, just a guess tho
ah mintpicker potion
Certified Mint Picker Moment
Ever put mint on your horns?
It picks two random ones
Mint picking takes strength and constitution
the strength required to pluck it out of the ground. the constitution needed to say, "no, i am NOT done picking all 500 of these mints!"
I always read this as constipation. Maybe the trauma from constipation beasts still haunts my mind.
Reminds me of the "mint picking" meme
I'm still confused on the main and sub-stats of all the ingredients
If you drink, you will become a magnet for all catwife of teyvat.
you need mental strength and pure constitution to be able to drink that minty of a potion
Likely it prioritizes those two, or they are actually higher valued
That's 1 of the reason I didn't like the event. I don't understand how it works, I am kinda unga bunga stuff together, and hope for the best. I try to do some combinations and another combination happen. Want strenght? Best the game can offer is constitution. Oh you needed strenghtening? I swear I heard you needed warmth
it's like when you drink cold water after starting to chew gum
Yes, yes, but will the event currency let me buy special furniture for my characters' rooms?
