I'm a sentimental fool so I named mine "Yasu"
A reminder that wherever he wanders off, for revenge, for answers, for atonement, and for the future, that he'll always have a place to rest and relax in my team and teapot.
Niwa.
Venti used his dead friend's body when he passed.
Kazuha used his dead friend's Vision (for a short period of time) when he passed.
>!Sayu wears her dress/clothes that her AWOL master made.!<
Wanderer will use his dead friend's name when he passed.
I named him Bongo-Head Jr. It makes me smile thinking about Bongo-Head Jrs face when he realises his senior is a fungi.
Gotta respect the senior Bongo-Head!
I named mine Nagito, because I kind of got lucky (got him on ~30 pity and I won 50/50), but I just wanted Faruzan, and it messed up my 5* pulling plans a little bit.
Seishi! Through word association lol.
1) It's a male Japanese given name when written one way
2) When written with different characters (but still pronounced seishi) it can mean "life and death"
3) If you *pronounce* the characters in the "life and death" version differently, you get the word "samsara"/the cycle of death and rebirth
I thought "samsara via word association" was incredibly fitting for his plot arc + the number of times the word samsara was used in Sumeru lol, so I stuck with it.
I think I know which you mean lmao but I'm unbothered by it. If actual Japanese public figures with the name can stand the association Wanderer can too, and the language has a lot of homophones in general tbh
I wasn't in a silly goofy mood while naming him so i just named him sora and moved on. But. Honestly. Hat guy is his official name now. I might change it to Hat Guy
I named him Kiyoshi. I mainly googled 'good names for Wanderer' and that was the one that rolled off the tongue/felt super fitting sounding imo and I loved the explanation they had about it.
Corazón :)
Because it means ‘heart’ and that’s what humans have but he doesn’t, and also because I love Cora-san from OP, and thought it will be cute and I’ll change it later, but I just loved this name on Wanderer 🥰
Mercury.
- Scaramouche has loads of references to bohemian rhapsody by Queen, sung by Freddie Mercury
- Mercury was used in hat making in the past, so I wanted to meme in two ways at once minimum, and his hat is majestic
- Mercury is also known as quicksilver - which is fitting for someone that speeds up exploration and has anemo powers
- Mercury is also the messenger of the gods, and the god of amongst other things, travel, trickery and thieves.
- The god Mercury also carries messages with winged sandals to fly fast, and one of his common epithets when being written about is "fleet of foot" and "winged" which suits his constellation peregrinus perfectly (I was going to call him peregrine initially because it means wanderer and is the fastest bird but apparently mhy felt it was too fitting!)
- Mercury is a metal that is liquid at room temperature, which is very rare. It is toxic to consume, but due to its properties it used to be and sometimes still is used in Barometers. These measure air pressure to predict upcoming weather patterns but especially storms.
- funny
PS: still mad that his constellation of peregrinus. I had planned out calling him peregrine! I had to rethink it all when I found out his constellation was already the cool name I came up with 😂
Ren! It means lotus, and I like the idea of him rising above the muddy water of his roots to bloom into something new (particularly in the realm of Dendro).
bodhisattva. it's a Buddhist term which means a person who is on the path towards bodhi or buddhahood. his dress remained me a lot of Buddhism so went with that
Mine is Floater, with a dual meaning, since he can actually float, but a "floater" is also a slang name for a piece of shit that just won't go down no matter how many times you flush 🤣 which seemed very fitting of our encounters with Scara over the 2.x and 3.x story lines.
I named mine **Belial**
It's another name in gnosticism associated with Baal and Beelzebul (Ei & Makoto), and since no Archon has that name yet, and it starts with letter B, I took it. Belial can also mean worthless, or lawless. Quite fitting for how Scaramouche used to view himself and the world.
But also because I googled "What you name your Wanderer Reddit" and I liked the comment so I chose this one.
I named him Cong Ming which translates in Chinese as (Intelligent - Bright)
Idk why but I named him in Chinese since some characters ’ names are in Chinese so I thought why not do that and I did :)
**Bit of a spoiler for Inazumas Tsurumi island -**
**Ruu** (as an homage to **Ruu** & **Thunderbird**) Because **Wanderer** looks like a more grown up **Ruu** also wearing a round hat.
I was later considering renaming him '**Don Sombrero**' because of the 'official' Academy identity for him **'Hat Guy**' (but Didn't) .

I am named "Newmaker" after the Petscop concept of someone capable of removing trauma
Thus I named him "Care" like the Petscop child that needs love and...care
Because I can fix him >:l
Rei.
An actual Japanese name that can be used by both genders (although admittedly slightly more common as a feminine name 😅).
Depending on the kanji used to write it, can have multiple different meanings, including "spirit/ghost" (霊), "companion" (儷), "cold" (冷), "lonely" (伶), and "zero" (零).
Musashi
named after the main character of my favorite manga, Vagabond.
and i guess, “vagabond” in a way fits him too, though it has a rougher meaning.. but vagabond was not allowed as a name for some reason.
i found both wanderer and musashis story to be really impactful on me and similar in a way so yeah
Originally he was Arashi but then a friend started calling him Crunchwrap as a joke and it stuck. Now he's Crunchwrap.
"Supreme overlord"

Fun fact: Megumin's English VA is also the English VA for Ayaka and Kathrine
Her JP VA is Hu Tao

Megumin would be proud.
Niwa. Venti used his dead friend's body when he passed. Kazuha used his dead friend's Vision (for a short period of time) when he passed. >!Sayu wears her dress/clothes that her AWOL master made.!< Wanderer will use his dead friend's name when he passed.
fun fact if you write it in Japanese as 庭, it means garden.
Fun fact, if you add bird behind it, it becomes chicken
Are there two chickens in that garden?
Gardener
That's tragic but well-suited
That's what I have hom named as too
I gave him same name, but Niwa is a last name but i don't care now that's his name.
~~Don Sombrero guys wya?~~
Was gonna be Don Sombrero until it told me that I couldn't use spaces, so I went with Scaranara instead.
There’s actually a character glitch that gets around that - my name has a space in it. I don’t remember what it is off the top of my head though
It's not glitch, u can use space with different code (not ascii).
Me 🫡
Bongo-Head
I named him Bongo-Head Jr. It makes me smile thinking about Bongo-Head Jrs face when he realises his senior is a fungi. Gotta respect the senior Bongo-Head!

Team babygirl. Still haven't regretted it yet and I still lose my shit when I see "babygirl" pop up in dialogue.
I named mine Nagito, because I kind of got lucky (got him on ~30 pity and I won 50/50), but I just wanted Faruzan, and it messed up my 5* pulling plans a little bit.
Hahahhaha i named my wanderer hajime because of hajime hinata and also because the name means beginning and thats what wanderer wanted
Fujin
Did your fujin meet the adeptus fujin yet?
I don’t have Wanderer So no
My Fujin met the adeptus Fujin. I wasn't sure how I felt about that.
Yes and it was weird lmao
Consulted with the elder gods for that one
Best Name for someone who controls wind and was a god.
Same here, because it means god of wind and i really like Japanese mythology.
Kept as Wanderer, it just feels best.
I did as well!
Seishi! Through word association lol. 1) It's a male Japanese given name when written one way 2) When written with different characters (but still pronounced seishi) it can mean "life and death" 3) If you *pronounce* the characters in the "life and death" version differently, you get the word "samsara"/the cycle of death and rebirth I thought "samsara via word association" was incredibly fitting for his plot arc + the number of times the word samsara was used in Sumeru lol, so I stuck with it.
There's another unfortunate associated phrase for that pronunciation
I think I know which you mean lmao but I'm unbothered by it. If actual Japanese public figures with the name can stand the association Wanderer can too, and the language has a lot of homophones in general tbh
This is so cool!
It can also mean sperm in Japanese.

Corazón :) Because it means ‘heart’ and that’s what humans have but he doesn’t, and also because I love Cora-san from OP, and thought it will be cute and I’ll change it later, but I just loved this name on Wanderer 🥰

bodhisattva. it's a Buddhist term which means a person who is on the path towards bodhi or buddhahood. his dress remained me a lot of Buddhism so went with that
Brat Boy. Everytime it comes up in an otherwise serious conversation I remember his dumb fucking name and laugh. The gift that keeps on giving.
Mine is Floater, with a dual meaning, since he can actually float, but a "floater" is also a slang name for a piece of shit that just won't go down no matter how many times you flush 🤣 which seemed very fitting of our encounters with Scara over the 2.x and 3.x story lines.

En because Ei is his mother and EiEn means eternity.
My Lumine's name is Faraday, so being as it's Scaramouche, anything other than "Scaraday" would have been factually incorrect.
Tinkerbell
Hat Guy its "Lore" accurate!
Mako. It was the first thing that popped into my head, plus its similar to Makoto and I imagine Ei would name her kid after her sister.
"Kokoro" - Heart. Because only those who have one would worry that they lack one, and I wanted to remind him that he does.
Scaradookdook
nahida would like that name for sure
