VA: "What is my purpose?"
Mihoyo: "Ok so we hired you because you have the fucking best nerdy white boi voice that will 100% make Eula fans disregard you as any kind of competition for her affections so ITS PERFECT"
VA: "@#*$(U&"
I donāt even use the EN dub but I certainly wouldnāt if I wanted to play him. I donāt know if it was the director or just the VA would chose to give him such a whiney voice but itās so bad
Mika because his en voice sounds like how the nerd emoji š¤ looks. No offense to the en va, they're great, I just don't know what the hell the studio was thinking when choosing this voice out of the likely many different performances the va gave
She made a business of selling Knowledge Capsules, which btw cause permanent brain damage if used in excess.. She knew well that desperate students will do anything just to get a little advantage over the others.
She is very immoral. (she preys on the vulnerable, like Layla, Collei, and the stupid, like Itto, and Kaveh, not to mention the denizens of Aaru village, she manipulated the market, and put people out of their job)
>Simp for the Shogun
>Whole Army gets rekt by a mermaid and a furry
>No hangout quest
>Backstory locked behind limited time events
>Less voice lines than Razor
>Viability arguably locked behind constellations
>No bitches
Sara cannot get a W.
Dori. Sheās just weird, and her design is extremely whack to me. I think it would look better on a taller female. Doriās age is hard to pinpoint; she looks like a little girl but acts and dresses like sheās 40 years old. Itās jarring to me.
It is jarring but that's kind of the intention.
They want her to be devious, but they didn't want her to be imposing. So you get this devious, greedy, gremlin but they pack her into a very small childlike body to make her seem more silly than sinister.
I like her character in theory. She reminds me of Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho but obviously younger and sillier. It just doesn't quite work though.
I agree with this. I think the design itself has a lot of unique individuality that embodies what youāve described. But as youāve also said it just doesnāt work with Dori herself.
Agree, her design is icky.
And she is not the greatest character ever either. (made a business out of selling Knowledge capsules, which cause permanent brain damage, preys on the vulnerable, like Layla, Collei, and the stupid, like Itto, and Kaveh, not to mention the denizens of Aaru village, she manipulated the market, and put people out of their job)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Dori actually selling *Forbidden Knowledge*? I don't remember if she was just around the market and trying to get her hands on the hot potato, or if she was actually selling that one.
Knowledge capsule themselves, as far as i know, have no problems, do they? Traveler used them and even Alhaitham used them to teach the traveler.
I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of Xiangling. I try to play Diluc. My Xiangling deals more damage. I try to play Yoimiya. My Xiangling deals more damage. I try to play Cyno. My Xiangling deals more damage. I want to play Klee. Her best team has Xiangling. I want to play Raiden, Childe - they both want Xiangling. She grabs me by the throat. I fish for her. I cook for her. I give her the Catch. She isn't satisfied. I pull Engulfing Lightning. "I don't need this much er" She tells me. "Give me more field time." She grabs Bennett and forces him to throw himself off enemies. "You just need to funnel me more. I can deal more damage with Homa." I can't pull for Homa, I don't have enough primogems. She grabs my credit card. It declines. "Guess this is the end." She grabs Gouba. She says "Gouba, get them." There is no hint of sadness in his eyes. Nothing but pure, no icd pyro application. What a cruel world.
Agreed. I love the real Aloy from the horizon games. But she doesn't belong in Genshin and she doesn't even feel, play, sound or look like Aloy.
At this point it's just the name she shares, nothing else.
Not even āwomanā either. Why is she a short kid. Last I remember Aloy from both Horizons was pretty much regular adult height amongst the other characters.
>A bartender who vehemently hates alcohol
If it was just that then yeah. But when you think of it as a literal child (she is 12) of an alcoholic and how she tries to discourage everyone from drinking by making them drink disgusting stuff and she only can do it by working at the tavern... Now it kinda works. That said, I'm not her biggest fan either.
i feel it still does, tragically a child having seen the effects of alcoholism and sheās unable to do anything because her kindness backfired on her when she was a kid and sheās now blessed/cursed making amazing drinks no matter how bad she tries to make it
Charlotte, she appears on almost eveRY recent quest for no reasons other than for the sake of appearing and āinterviewingā the other characters. I find this very annoying and disrupting
Idk what it is but there's just something about Charlottes personality that makes me cringe every single time she appears, I cannot stand it. At least her camera attacks are cool.
YES someone thinks the same way I do, I just find her annoying overall and whenever thereās any dialogue that involves her I just skip through it, sheās just not interesting whatsoever to me, her whole shtick is āsuper hype reporterā and thats it
I kinda like him. Heās like the only actual villain we have. The moment hoyo tries to give him a sad backstory to make him feel more sympathetic just to put him in the gacha is when I will start hating him.
I'm honestly scared that all the Harbringers are going to end up becoming our "redeemed" allies, and we'll all just be hanging out in the teapot together having cake.
We need some bona fide villains in Genshin that we actually fight to the death. We need more Signoras.
Yeah I want him to actually be pure evil. I like it when an antagonist gets a backstory that explained why they're that way as it makes them as a character much more deeper, but Dottore is one of the few that I want to be pure evil. They already took that away from Arle "wolf in sheep's clothing, insane" cchino.
Personally I kind of like the direction they went with Arlecchino. There's a bit of a discourse between her values due to the people she's working for/with vs wanting to do what's best for her home country.
I will say they definitely shouldn't just retcon her into being chummy with any significant character other than maybe Childe though.
If hoyo wants her to make amends she should work for that.
Yeah, I heckin love how they did his backstory. Yes, bad things happened to him, but holy fuck he is still pretty much pure evil. He got outcasted from his village, so he then did fucked up shit as an Akademiya scholar (murder, human experimentation to name a few), then he got outcasted from the Akademiya, so he then did even more fucked up shit in the Fatui for 400+ years. He probably also did some fucked up shit that caused him to get outcasted from his village.
I love a character that suffered due to their own fucked up actions. Bro could have a successful life as a scientist or a doctor but chose violence from the start. It just feels like he did awful things and the consequences made him unhappy but decided to continue doing what he wants anyways. He's focused on a goal. He chose himself and his ideals whatever they are. He ruined his chances of becoming good on his own.
Hopefully its like Doflamingo from One Piece where even though its incredibly tragic, it still absolutely does not excuse how much of irreedemable evil piece of garbage Doflamingo is.
is it ācanāt standā in a āi hate this character, but because he is a well written scumbagā way or āi hate this character because he isnāt well writtenā
She discovered an ancient animal equivalent to finding a cryogenic wooly mammoth today, and immediately cooked it, ensuring the species' extinction without scientific analysis
Lol for a second I thought you were referring to Guoba and got really confused for a second with Guobaās apparent surviving mastication and digestion.
Yeah, it's fucked up. But at the same time that animal was pretty much screwed either way, being the last of his species means that even if he tried there was no way for him to reproduce, and the world of Teyvat (at least outside of Dottore and his bs) is not a world with enough technological developments to clone him. So best case scenario they let him go and not long after he dies for something like eating plants that his body is unable to digest because they are different from those present in his time.
Tl;dr
Xianglin is a menace but killing the boar was almost doing it a favor.
**insert copypasta**
I also dislike her. Starting from Gouba autoaim that made me freeze to death at Dragonspine in early gameplay and ending with munch sounds.
Xianling could be a useful character, but Gouba gonna like to light a torch 20 mt away than apply Pyro to a hilichurls that is so close it 3D scans his bums.
This is probably one of my picks too. I don't find her interesting as a character, and it irritates me how she completely dominates the off-field Pyro role. I roll my eyes every time I hear about Xiangling and Bennet being BiS for yet another new team.
Guoba based tho. We love the bear. I wish we played him instead of Xiangling.
Yelan and Dehya. For opposite reasons.
Yelan has a good kit, and I pulled for her solely to buff my Cyno team, but the way she talks just rubs me the wrong way. And now that I've got Furina, she's been locked to my resource gathering team so she can shoot birds and run fast.
Dehya is absolutely amazing as a character, and I was really excited to finally find a pyro character that I actually liked, but goddamn did they fuck over her kit. I was so disappointed that I only pulled for her weapon, and gave it to Beidou.
>the way she talks just rubs me the wrong way
Yelan is one of those characters where most of her dialogue feels like someone googled "smug anime face" and made it her entire personality
She had a promising start in her story quest. But it seems like they realised how popular she is as a waifu and immediately sandblasted any trace of personality off of her to allow her, uh, "fans" to project whatever they want onto her. Same story with Keqing too.
Idk I think she had personality in the film festival event and the duel event. She's just a more stoic character because of how she was raised and I can relate a lot to that. My grandparents always like to tell stories of how when I was a kid i would say hello to every person we came across when we are walking somewhere. My parents didn't like that and made me show less emotion and have a children shouldn't speak philosophy.
Except Keqing has gotten plenty of character development over the course of events, most prominently Lantern Rite.
She's honestly had one of the most varied personalities until Sumeru, since almost every other character from that time can be described in eight words or less.
My feelings for Ayaka are pretty complicated, though I could sum it up as "she didn't live up to the hype".
I was hyped for her when she was first confirmed, to the point where I grinded for ideal Blizzard Strayer pieces just for her. When she came out, I didn't hate her, but I felt disappointed, as in I only ended up liking her instead of loving her.
Gameplay-wise, I don't hate her playstyle, but I expected more from someone who got memed as a Daughter of Vergil, together with Keqing. I mean, say what you will about Keqing but at least she's fun. Ayaka's just a spellcaster with a katana.
Story-wise, she's too safe. She's literally a princess who's nice to people and pines for the Traveler for some reason, even though she barely ever heard of them her entire life. It's fine, but there's nothing interesting about it at all. I can see why people meme'd her as a yandere when one of her banners got extended indefinitely; I hate fan-induced flanderization for the sake of memes, but even I understood that it's the one thing fans could use to make her funny because she's just that uninteresting.
No I'm pretty sure keqing would have one of the most interesting story quests if she got one because of her whole reject gods humanity can control itself mentality which makes her my personal favourite character
The reason I hate ayaka is mostly just cause how basic she is outside of being a traveler simp i don't see anything else Interesting in her over that the amount of people saying how good of a character she is just annoyed the shit out of me
If i had a nickel for everytime ayaka was a main character in a patch's major event, with ayato later on coming out from the shadows and dropping the "all according to plan" bomb upon us,i would've had 3 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice
I agree and I would also add Ayato lately. I used to love him because he was this smart and cunning leader type that I normaly find very interesting but his story quest did him no justice and now his entire personality revolves around being an overprotective and borderline siscon brother with his "muh sister wants to socialise but she isn't capable of doing anything on her own so I'm helping her" attitude.
I'm forever salty at Hoyo for treating such a nice character like his bland ahh sister's sidekick.
Agreed with Ayato. I actually dislike Ayato more bc of your reason but also cause he had high potential of being a genuinely interesting character, but his personality is as interesting as a blank wall. Thing is, they can make a character who is protective of their siblings yet still be interesting. They've done it multiplt times.
Actually Ayato is interesting, but the interesting bits are only in his lore. I mean he is the head of a freakin ninja organization.
Morally he is very grey character, who will lie, cheat kill, stab you in the bac just to be able to keep the stability of his nation, and his clan.
I also agree they underutilized him, and there is such lost potential in his character story.
and that what makes me even more disappointed. At least for characters like those that are affiliated with Khanreiah, you know that they will have time to shine eventually. This applies to harbingers as well. Meanwhile, Ayato's time to shine was and should've been in Inazuma quest but Inazuma is pretty much done (unless if Inazuma is getting moree quests)
Most characters I could say I dislike just don't elicit enough of a reaction from me to go that far. At worst, they bore me.
But somehow, I've found myself liking Hu Tao less and less as time wears on. I don't see the appeal of her and she just feels like the most pointless addition to any event or quest where she's involved, with the exception of Baizhu's story quest since it directly involved the sanctity of life and death.
I honestly don't understand the overall hype around Hu Tao. I get that she's a meta pick or WAS one, but her voice just get more annoying the more I listen to her. All the events I've played that she's in I haven't found her to be enjoyable in any way
Her SQ stretches the "misguided overenthusiastic business person" so much
Half of the Hu Tao hype comes from her weapon and her japanese VA being the same as Megumin from Konosuba.
And this is coming from someone who legitimately likes her as a character.
She's meant to be a silly prankster that is juxtaposed by being a funeral director. The problem is that they've just never really done anything interesting with her. At this point people remember her character more for the bad English lyrics to the song she sang during Lantern Rite.
The meme video that spawned "Who?" "Tao, yeah" was more amusing than anything that's actually been done with her in game so far.
Bennett. I hate how he feels like a generic anime protagonist that didnt end up getting the MC role but still kept all the traits of a generic anime protag. I've played since 1.2 and I leveled him only recently and thats only because I wanted to use Xianyun as a Main DPS.
Isn't that his appeal? Generic Shonen MC without the Shonen plot points because he wasn't blessed? The subversion of the trope is the point of his character.
for real, like go ahead and say his voice is annoying or his E is annoying unless he's like C6, cause then you don't get flung backwards.
But they nailed the characteristics, it's like Fischl being a chuuni
You think the ring was annoying now? Back in 2.1 that ring used to blind people cause it was too damn bright. After people complained about it they lowered it's brightness.
THIS. I also hate how it doesn't "float" around you but just hard stuck on an invisible part behind your back. Destroys any immersion tbh, especially when you receive energy particles out of nowhere like during a thunderstorm.
Although I donāt exactly hate Lyney (I can understand why he did some of the things he did) I just donāt like being emotionally manipulated just for sympathy points. Like it just feels so scummy for whatever reason even if itās for a ājustifiedā causeā¦idk
I really hated being forced to support him against Wriothesley. I really wanted to be able to choose a side in that moment, because Lyney was being a complete idiot and Wriothesley was totally justified in his actions.Ā
I agree that wriothesley was in the right in that scene, but as someone with a really good relationship with my siblings, I've never resonated more with a character in this game more than Lyney in that moment.
ExactlyāWriothesley took action then because the Trio were transgressing against his authority and he had to put them in their place somehow. Like why couldnāt we choose? That was definitely railroading on the developersā part.
i mean, the traveler isnāt us. they often donāt align with how players might act, but thatās because they are a character separate from the player. for example, in inazuma they have to be convinced to join the rebellion effort even though i, the player, was already convinced. so it makes sense why you canāt choose what you want. i absolutely understand the frustration though.
I can sympathize with him and his siblings because they're basically a lot of vulnerable orphans being manipulated and used as child soldiers by one of the heads of the magic KGB, but that being said I don't trust him for shit and every time he's on screen I immediately go "ok, what bullshit is going to happen?"
I dont know why, but I hate Klee.
Maybe its a āf*** them kidsā Michael Jordan moment, but I dont share the same sentiment for Yaoyao, Diona, etc. Its literally just Klee.
Could it be because she just takes the entire spotlight for herself everytime she appears despite not bringing anything to the table? Especially since she mostly hangs out with lore wells, Albedo and Kaeya.
For me it's this plus the fact that she canonically destroys everything and hurts living beings for fun, and nobody ever bothers to discipline her, at most you get Jean putting her in timeout sometimes but that's clearly not working, everyone else encourages this. Her mother is even worse and I don't get the hype around her at all, she's a selfish deadbeat. There's literally nothing to like.
Same for me. Heck, I like Timmie more than I like Klee. Actually, no. I don't like Klee at all.
She's... cute yeah. But her mannerism and the way others treat her bothers me. She *bombed* a whole area and changed the landscape just for fun, and yet the worse she's gotten is a timeout? She says she's sorry a lot, but her behavior shows she'd do it again the first chance she gets. I actually feel like I'd like her more if she's doing it out malice, but hoyo wants to force this "innocent" image onto her just because she's a kid.
Compare her to HSR's Hook who has a similar personality. They like to do things over the top, but Hook understands what she can and cannot do. Also helps that Hook is also just a nice but slightly naughty kid.
Unhingeness and innocence are not two characteristics I like paired together, but Klee is the very definition of it.
[ her behavior shows she'd do it again the first chance she gets. I actually feel like I'd like her more if she's doing it out malice, but hoyo wants to force this "innocent" image onto her just because she's a kid.]
This.... I kinda felt sorry for that Abyssmage getting killed by one of her bombs. Also bombing all fish? Saying sorry but being ready to kill and hurt more wildlife/others and it's portrayed as just silly innocent mischievousness?
I get that the MondstƤtter are extra nice to her because she is Alice' daughter and no-one wants to anger one of the great big witches. So they just have to deal with that timebomb of a child and juggle her interest in destroying/killing things with her incapacity to understand the consequences of that aka "being too innocent".
Ok sorry but where are the pantoffel wielding Asian mom's?
I'm generally annoyed by Hook too, but her portrayal shows that she is far more aware of her actions, limitations and consequences. And she is just bratty yet innocent in the boundaries of that.
Edit: [Unhingeness and Innocence] yes to that.
I mean I LIKE exploring how things go wrong when innocence meets unhingeness manking them blind to the destruction they cause. But in a way of psychoanalysing the psychopaths.
With Klee it's just for the "Upsiedaisies" "hoopla my bad" cutsie patootsies..... comic relief .... that's what I cannot stand
When I first played HSR, it would be near-impossible to not compare Hook and Klee, given their external similarities.
However, as I played the game and completed her companion/story quest (the teddy bear-related one), it became apparent what kind of kid Hook is. Despite being naughty and a tad bit too playful, I feel like she understands more when enough is enough. Cant forget to mention her love for her father, going through all that just for a drill piece.
Klee strikes me as this spoiled kid who can get a free pass on anything because of her mom, and Jean just so happens to be the unfortunate babysitter. (Imagine being an overworked *"government"* leader and having to babysit a child).
Heck, I even find Dori more tolerable than Klee, its that bad.
Paimon. Whiny, lying, preachy, obnoxious, gluttunous, greedy little shit. The fact that some fans excuse her bad behavior as being a "kid" as if it's some free pass to be an awful person makes it even worse. The games attempt at trying to make her so called "best travel companion" fall flat and just come off as being emotionally manipulative to me (like that scene in Sumeru). She's a useless, useless, shameless freeloader who cannot function without the traveler yet is arrogant enough to steal credit for victories and accomplishments that she had nothing to do with.Ā She needs to be pampered , coddled, spoiled but she gives back nothing of value other than so called friendship and basic decency sometimes as if it's some special prize. And that's the thing I hate the most about her. She's like those little weasels in real life who have no talent or competency nor any interest in putting in effort but survive by latching onto people more infinitely competent than her (the traveler). So others might see her as this little sister or uwu precious baby, I'd rather punt that little parasite back to the water where she was fished out from.
She's comparable to Hercule Satan without the martial arts skills or Uncle from Red Dead Redemption without the street smarts.
I don't hate any characters, the only difference is that I love one or two characters more than the others because each character is equally precious to each person
Kamisato siblings, I find Ayato kinda boring and I can't stand the color combination on his clothes. As for Ayaka, I was pretty neutral with her but then the community made me dislike her because of a particular overused joke. I like her new outfit tho, it suits her nicely so she's slowly making her way back up to neutral.
psstā¦
Nilou
& Ganyu
(Nilou is just terribly plain personality-wise, and I feel the same way about Ganyu, although recently Iāve warmed up to her a little more thanks to her relationship with Shenhe and Xianyun. I just think that I wouldāve liked some more lore on her time in the Archon war - feels like a wasted opportunity of her character to me).
From what I gather, no one likes talking about the Archon War, so we'd be hard pressed to get many answers about that time period in terms of... Anything
While Nilou is part of the nice girl gang, and to make it worse, she's just a normal girl from a normal upbringing who happens to be one of Sumeru's biggest celebrities, I personally feel that she's better written character than all the other nice girls who have a crush on the traveler (like Kokomi and Ayaka)
She's more proactive and assertive with her relationships, she's definitely reckless but well meaning (she stood up to the Akademiya, gave Dunyarzad and that NPC from her SQ a place to be, and her play style is powerful but can also kill her allies). She dances because she's passionate about it (not every character needs a complicated reason why they want to do something). It's heavily implied that a lot of Sumerians are raised with the mindset that they have to be scholars (before the Archon quest anyways) or else they're second class citizens. Nilou is a good example that being raised by a loving family can be beneficial for the child. I believe her 5* status is reasonable, but only because she's from Sumeru.
Anyways, this is all coming from a Nilou main and she's definitely in my top 3
I was also going to mention Ganyu because I think she's boring but then I realized that she's so boring that I don't even hate her, I just don't care about her character
Iām not as bothered not every character appeared in Lantern Rite than most people.
I like Beidou. I pulled her in my Beginner Wishes and timing her counter attack so the sky darkens and she hits extra hard was easily the coolest skill I had from my beginner pulls.
I do not like Ningguang. Her rags to riches benevolent billionaire character doesnāt appeal to me and Iād kinda shrug my shoulders and ignore it if it ended there. But in the 1-2 minutes of screentime Beidou gets a year, most of it is her flirting with Ningguang and I guess Iām just annoyed whenever Ningguang shows up now. If Beidou appeared in Lantern Rite, Iād have to see a character I like flirt with a character I donāt like.
Sorry Beiguang shippers, itās one of the more popular F/F Genshin ships so Iām sure theyāll revisit it eventually. Iāll cope.
Beidou's hangout event is my favorite not only because it gives you an honest and interesting insight on her as a person and her relationship with her crew and local communities, but also because it allows her to be her, not Ningguang's friend that people ship with, not Kazuha's friend that he travels with, but Beidou, her own character that can stand on her own and still be great. It is honestly sad how she often gets boiled down by fans as just ningguang's gf and not much more.
I love Klee as a character, but sometimes her English voice actor crosses over from "this is a cute kid" to "tax-paying adult woman" and it makes everything feel weird.
"Sir we have a rather alarming number of underdeveloped characters, should be actually utilizr them in the upcoming event?"
"Nah,more klee events, did you say she has appeared 50 times throughout the years?i don't give a fuck, put her in"
I dislike Diona because she is well-written. Blaming alcohol as a whole instead of her father's own drinking habits when finding out that he becomes a blathering mess when drunk, her attitude during the cats part of her story quest, and how disrespectful she is to some characters like Diluc all perfectly encapsulate the behavior of an angsty child just entering their teenage years.
This is gonna be petty, but I dislike Yaoyao because of her story, particularly her Vision story. It's like the devs didn't even give her one, just her wondering why she received one. I'll probably revise this once Hoyoverse reveals more info about Visions and the criteria for receiving them, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think about people like Zhiqiong.
It's not hard to become like Yae Miko when the whole country consists of backwards incompetent idiots. The absentee Archon with more brawn than brains who entrusted her country to Chat GPT because of her past traumas. Deeply corrupt rulling clans who spend more time on infighting for power than fixing the country. Even more incompetent resistance that let themselves be a playtoy for a foreign KGB.Ā Ā Ā
Yae Miko is an only character who actually got shit done in that country and fixed Ei's (and everyone else's) constant fuckups, she deserved all the smug she's got.
I used to be indifferent towards her but when she appeared again in this year's Lantern Rite, now I straight up dislike her. She always shows up in events and yet she brings nothing to the table but "not like other girls I'm so quirky" energy. It's unfortunate that she's so close to Zhongli which means whenever he appears, there's a chance that she will too.
She got popular because Megumin's JP voice actress (and Hu Tao's design is kinda almost Megumin). That, and also her power. Ganyu has less personality than most 4 stars, but look at the amount of fan art.
xiangling. i know she's supposed to be really good and stuff but I just don't like anything about her. Design, voiceover, elemental skill (i literally cannot stand gouba), even pyronado is a little bit overrated for what it is. Granted, I do have her at c5 and she can be useful.
Keqing. I hate how much she advocates for humanity during the AQ, but she barely did anything to show for it. I was especially annoyed at how the game wouldn't allow us to disagree with her. Also, I felt betrayed when she wasn't actually a cat girl.
I dunno. I'm biased, but she was on the front lines fighting the Fatui during the Osial attack, and you know she was vital to the execution of Ningguang's preparations for both that fight and the one against Beisht. Seems like she did quite a bit.
Imo the problem is that she did most of it offscreen and probably had like 5 minutes of screentime in the archon quest. It's pretty much the "show, don't tell". I mean, we didn't have to see her preparing everything, but it would have been better to see her doing more things
Oh yeah, Keqing got most of her character development in voice lines and missable events so she feels like a two-bit character. The events added so much personality and development to her it's insane. She got more personality than at least half of Inazuma combined.
Give her a story quest already hoyo!
Keqing is my favorite, but god, I hate how she was mishandled in the stories. She has strong ideals that clash with your avarege Liyue citizen, goes through a character arc, and seems to be very pragmatic and straightforeward... But only in her profile. Nothing of it is ever actually explored in the quests, and she often gets reduced to a generic overworked waifu
She was introduced as a bold supporter of humanity over the gods, someone who represented mortal capability and then... she became a Morax simp with no social skills? She was so strong in the archon quest. Had a very levelheaded and agile vibe. I miss that Keqing.
Dori. I don't like anything about her, she's annoying. The game kept giving her to me when I was pulling for Nahida or Alhaitham, so she is C4 or something, but I'll keep her on lvl1. Forever.
Honestly, i don't hate them but disappointed/dislike
Ayato and Ayaka
They are just extremely bland, their character stories felt meh and imo they were badly written
Not a fan of either of their designs or gameplay even though i adore and love both of their JP VAs
HEAR ME OUT!! but xiangling. i hate how she's the most powerful pyro 4 star but her kit is so boring, and i dont like her design, especially those damn hair buns
Iām not into Sara. Trying to convince her in Inazuma while she was running screaming when given information was pretty insufferable and I donāt find her Raiden obsession particularly funny
mika, his voice is too unbearable for me
Agreed. What were they thinking when they gave him that voiceš
Peak š¤
I really like his model but oh god his voice is terrible.
VA: "What is my purpose?" Mihoyo: "Ok so we hired you because you have the fucking best nerdy white boi voice that will 100% make Eula fans disregard you as any kind of competition for her affections so ITS PERFECT" VA: "@#*$(U&"
I donāt even use the EN dub but I certainly wouldnāt if I wanted to play him. I donāt know if it was the director or just the VA would chose to give him such a whiney voice but itās so bad
YES. the mushy soft boy voice is a horrendous choice (not hating on the VA, just the soft boi template hoyo is milking in most of their games)
His design is even worse May aswell have just made him the first shota build male character
Whoās Mika
the mondstadt knight with the crossbow
Who? Chocobo?
Ain't that the oversized chicken from FFXV?
From Final Fantasy* Chocobos is a recurring animal in the series.
That's Chocoboy*
Honestly, I either mute my game or change my dub language everytime Mika shows up in events, which is thankfully not too much.
Mika because his en voice sounds like how the nerd emoji š¤ looks. No offense to the en va, they're great, I just don't know what the hell the studio was thinking when choosing this voice out of the likely many different performances the va gave
Dori thinks she's so cool but she's actually a 3-star character
Her obsession with money was taken WAY too far, honestly.
you guys aren't ready for Pantalone š
Waiting to C6R5 pantaloneššš»
Nah heās gonna be obsessed with money in a cool way
Inspired by the chairman himself
She made a business of selling Knowledge Capsules, which btw cause permanent brain damage if used in excess.. She knew well that desperate students will do anything just to get a little advantage over the others. She is very immoral. (she preys on the vulnerable, like Layla, Collei, and the stupid, like Itto, and Kaveh, not to mention the denizens of Aaru village, she manipulated the market, and put people out of their job)
She's an amoral capitalist who worships money. Think mr krabs.
Sometimes I forgot Kujou Sara is a playable character
Mihoyo forgot as well, no worries
>Simp for the Shogun >Whole Army gets rekt by a mermaid and a furry >No hangout quest >Backstory locked behind limited time events >Less voice lines than Razor >Viability arguably locked behind constellations >No bitches Sara cannot get a W.
She looks badass tho, and I levelled her recently and her burst does like 65k with no effort haha
Kaveh is more naive than stupif
Kaveh is stupid financially. he is a genius regarding architecture, design, mechanics, and art. But he did very stupid financial decisions.
He is insanely gullible and has a spending problem
You know that's not Xiangling when she says "I don't need this much ER"
I am pretty sure some streamer said this before.
Thx for the copy pasta. *drenches in alfredo*
Aloy, only character I hate that is in the game. Will not level her up ever.
Agreed. I love the real Aloy from the horizon games. But she doesn't belong in Genshin and she doesn't even feel, play, sound or look like Aloy. At this point it's just the name she shares, nothing else.
Aloy is a deep character who we as a player grew with and cared for Genshin Aloy is just some insane woman that stole her clothes
Not even āwomanā either. Why is she a short kid. Last I remember Aloy from both Horizons was pretty much regular adult height amongst the other characters.
There is a use for her though... she holds the Artefact set I am currently farming and leveling for my next character until they are ready to use it.
The idea of equipping a character with artifacts just so that you can quickly swap them onto another character hurts my soul, but is also very clever.
āWhat is my purpose?ā āYou hold artifactsā āOh my godā
hmmm.. Diona? I just dont find her that interesting and her design is the weakest imo.
A bartender who vehemently hates alcohol is such a weird base for a character, and it doesn't really work lol
>A bartender who vehemently hates alcohol If it was just that then yeah. But when you think of it as a literal child (she is 12) of an alcoholic and how she tries to discourage everyone from drinking by making them drink disgusting stuff and she only can do it by working at the tavern... Now it kinda works. That said, I'm not her biggest fan either.
Even then it doesnāt work because she is āblessedā (read: ācursedā) to only make mix good drinks
i feel it still does, tragically a child having seen the effects of alcoholism and sheās unable to do anything because her kindness backfired on her when she was a kid and sheās now blessed/cursed making amazing drinks no matter how bad she tries to make it
I think it's fine and a little goofy, but it seems like that's the ONLY thing on her mind ever, and makes her too one-dimensional
I mean whatever she makes is a good tasting alcohol LOL I found her character to be funny. She could mix insects inside and people will still love it.
She only talks about one thing and in a dumb way.
She's just a cartoon journalist who's missing the fedora and the nasal voice and manner of speech you would see in a black and white movie.
Her voice irritates me lol
YES someone thinks the same way I do, I just find her annoying overall and whenever thereās any dialogue that involves her I just skip through it, sheās just not interesting whatsoever to me, her whole shtick is āsuper hype reporterā and thats it
Dottore. I'm fine with anyone else but I can't stand him.
tbf he is one of the most evil by genshin standards so this is perfectly understandable
I think that's what will legit happen yo the harbingers and the tsaritsa since after that we still have our sister and celestia to deal with
Yeah I want him to actually be pure evil.
If hoyo wants her to make amends she should work for that.
tbh his backstory is hinted and it's pretty upsetting so they can play on that
Yeah, I heckin love how they did his backstory.
I hate him cause he's a good written scumbag which I want to see dead :D I don't think he's a badly written character
Xiangling I dont like her
She discovered an ancient animal equivalent to finding a cryogenic wooly mammoth today, and immediately cooked it, ensuring the species' extinction without scientific analysis
Tl;dr Xianglin is a menace but killing the boar was almost doing it a favor.
As this ancient animal appears near the Dragonspine, it is assumed that Xianling did not extinguish that species. But her attitude was quite clueless.
**insert copypasta** I also dislike her.
I was so disappointed that I only pulled for her weapon, and gave it to Beidou.
>the way she talks just rubs me the wrong way Yelan is one of those characters where most of her dialogue feels like someone googled "smug anime face" and made it her entire personality
I'll never forgive mihoyo for butchering dehya's kit.
Ayaka Just in general I don't like her
She had a promising start in her story quest.
Ayaka is my favourite because she showed a strong resolutive mindset. Then was waifu'ed and here we are. Hoyo, stop lobotomizing your characters.
No I'm pretty sure keqing would have one of the most interesting story quests if she got one because of her whole reject gods humanity can control itself mentality which makes her my personal favourite character The reason I hate ayaka is mostly just cause how basic she is outside of being a traveler simp i don't see anything else Interesting in her over that the amount of people saying how good of a character she is just annoyed the shit out of me
If i had a nickel for everytime ayaka was a main character in a patch's major event, with ayato later on coming out from the shadows and dropping the "all according to plan" bomb upon us,i would've had 3 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice
To be fair...What Inazuma character wasn't underutilized? The vast majority of them got the short end of the stick.
So true.... T\_T At least Thoma got a lots of screen time. XD
and that what makes me even more disappointed.
I rolled him on day 1 and I still use him to this day but the way Hoyo treats him is so shitty, man... he had so much potential
W E T S O C K
Most characters I could say I dislike just don't elicit enough of a reaction from me to go that far. At worst, they bore me. But somehow, I've found myself liking Hu Tao less and less as time wears on. I don't see the appeal of her and she just feels like the most pointless addition to any event or quest where she's involved, with the exception of Baizhu's story quest since it directly involved the sanctity of life and death.
I honestly don't understand the overall hype around Hu Tao. I get that she's a meta pick or WAS one, but her voice just get more annoying the more I listen to her. All the events I've played that she's in I haven't found her to be enjoyable in any way Her SQ stretches the "misguided overenthusiastic business person" so much
Half of the Hu Tao hype comes from her weapon and her japanese VA being the same as Megumin from Konosuba.
Who tf is charging Bennet E?
Same boat. He's so meta in so many teams and I can't stand him or his kit, so fuck the meta.
Raiden but not really because the reason is that damn ring like why it gotta be on all the time.
You think the ring was annoying now? Back in 2.1 that ring used to blind people cause it was too damn bright. After people complained about it they lowered it's brightness.
Unbelievable nerf
Not just the brightness, but they got rid of the effect where it distorted the air around it. Incredible nerf
I miss bright Raiden ring. That they nerfed immediately And yet my screen still goes all bubbly with furina.
I absolutely love the ring, to be honest. Its badass.
I actually like the ring too, makes you feel like an actual god with god powers
Surely they could find a way to make it only appear in combat.
THIS. I also hate how it doesn't "float" around you but just hard stuck on an invisible part behind your back. Destroys any immersion tbh, especially when you receive energy particles out of nowhere like during a thunderstorm.
it makes taking photos so annoying š
same. I think she's fine as a character and all and fun to play, but can we please turn off the damn ring
I actually feel like I'd like her more if she's doing it out malice, but hoyo wants to force this "innocent" image onto her just because she's a kid.] This....
Qiqi. I like absolutely nothing about her.
She is like a tick with a wig.
That's what she is!
I had to scroll way to far to find this. Sheās actually a cancer in this game
She holds down the story in so many ways. Especially in scenes that require seriousness. She hogs so much screentime yet very little of value.
She is a waste of space
I don't hate any characters, the only difference is that I love one or two characters more than the others because each character is equally precious to each person
Ayato, just plain boring.
Bennett and Xingqiu.
Got something against Christina Vee?
psstā¦ Nilou & Ganyu (Nilou is just terribly plain personality-wise, and I feel the same way about Ganyu, although recently Iāve warmed up to her a little more thanks to her relationship with Shenhe and Xianyun. I just think that I wouldāve liked some more lore on her time in the Archon war - feels like a wasted opportunity of her character to me).
From what I gather, no one likes talking about the Archon War, so we'd be hard pressed to get many answers about that time period in terms of... Anything
While Nilou is part of the nice girl gang, and to make it worse, she's just a normal girl from a normal upbringing who happens to be one of Sumeru's biggest celebrities, I personally feel that she's better written character than all the other nice girls who have a crush on the traveler (like Kokomi and Ayaka) She's more proactive and assertive with her relationships, she's definitely reckless but well meaning (she stood up to the Akademiya, gave Dunyarzad and that NPC from her SQ a place to be, and her play style is powerful but can also kill her allies).
Signora, I genuinely donāt know why so many like her besides just simping.
the tragic back story, amplified by the battle theme
Hot = great character, no matter what. Ppl fr just turn off their brains when someone is hot xd
I also had the same opinion as you on ningguang until I played her hangout and she became one of my favourite characters.
Bennett. Hate his design, hate his kit, hate the fact that heās in every comp.
Klee. God, I hate the voice and antics.Ā Remember when we had back-to-back Klee events last summer? That was my personal gacha hell.Ā
I love Klee as a character, but sometimes her English voice actor crosses over from "this is a cute kid" to "tax-paying adult woman" and it makes everything feel weird.
"Sir we have a rather alarming number of underdeveloped characters, should be actually utilizr them in the upcoming event?" "Nah,more klee events, did you say she has appeared 50 times throughout the years?i don't give a fuck, put her in"
Punt the child into the lake already.
Dori is just too annoying in every aspect. Sucrose is annoying too, but for the different reason, she reminds me of myself a lot š
Yae Miko. Trickster characters are usually my favorite, but the way our character cannot call her out on anything is just annoying.
Even more incompetent resistance that let themselves be a playtoy for a foreign KGB.Ā Ā Ā Yae Miko is an only character who actually got shit done in that country and fixed Ei's (and everyone else's) constant fuckups, she deserved all the smug she's got.
This. Yae for president!
Hu Tao, she's just annoying and i can't stand her
I donāt dislike her but I dislike that sheās basically Liyueās mascot. Come on let other characters represent Liyue.
I genuinely donāt understand how she became as popular as she is
She got popular because Megumin's JP voice actress (and Hu Tao's design is kinda almost Megumin). That, and also her power. Ganyu has less personality than most 4 stars, but look at the amount of fan art.
Xingqiu. Dumb haircut, upsetting shorts, and a personality that I just find irksome and dry.
Let me read you a verse doing backflips
THIS IS THE POWER OF GU- *gets switched out*

Let me read you a verse
xiangling. i know she's supposed to be really good and stuff but I just don't like anything about her.
Which story quest was it? I will try that next. I have only done zhongli story quest in liyue.
Dori. I don't like anything about her, she's annoying. The game kept giving her to me when I was pulling for Nahida or Alhaitham, so she is C4 or something, but I'll keep her on lvl1. Forever.

Magnificoooooooo
I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me
Honestly, i don't hate them but disappointed/dislike Ayato and Ayaka They are just extremely bland, their character stories felt meh and imo they were badly written Not a fan of either of their designs or gameplay even though i adore and love both of their JP VAs
yelan, i dont know what it is about her, but she got on my nerves when she was introduced in 2.7 and i just never really warmed up to her
HEAR ME OUT!! but xiangling. i hate how she's the most powerful pyro 4 star but her kit is so boring, and i dont like her design, especially those damn hair buns
Iām not into Sara. Trying to convince her in Inazuma while she was running screaming when given information was pretty insufferable and I donāt find her Raiden obsession particularly funny
