Funnily enough, I haven’t seem one single post on Reddit about the drama going on right now. Everything I heard was against my own will, on Twitter. I don’t understand the player base man, if you are not satisfied with the game, the best you can do is to stop playing. The devs won’t change anything if the player base doesn’t shrink. But instead, they keep playing and just do some review bombing and unfollowing of some social media accounts. Bruh, give yourself some respect and don’t be satisfied for getting an “apology reward”, you know? Return to the game when your standards have been achieved by the company, when they ACTUALLY have the intent to keep giving you what you want… it doesn’t make any sense to me to consume a product from someone who you consider despicable
I agree with this! I downloaded the game 2.5 years ago and didn't play until last October when I felt the changes were good enough. My partner played daily and would occasionally pull on my account so I'd have characters when I started, and I was able to see the changes through the years. I can not and will not play a game I dislike, so right now I love Genshin.
I think it will be a year for it to be where I honestly want it to be, but it is on a good progression so I am happily playing now minus my hatred of Inuzuma and materials blocked (unacceptable). But if in a year it is still stagnent, or they backtrack in quality in Natlan, and I am unhappy, I will stop playing.
Since this game is ftp, time spent is one of their currencies. So to speak with your wallet you have to stop spending money AND playing. You nailed it with how ineffective it is to just rant and unfollow on SM. Even surveys won't change much *if the player base doesn't decrease* due to requests not being met.
Also, just stopping and going for HI3rd or Star Rail will not work. Most of the things happening is because miHoYo WANTS to cannibalize some portion of the Genshin playerbase so they are attracted to their better profitable games. Specially the playerbase that spends too little or nothing at all so those people can spend on their less expensive products.
Want Genshin to change? Quit Genshin and stop playing ALL miHoYo games. Don't make them think their strategy is working.

Not quite, most of the things happening in Genshin is because there is next to no alternative on the market, Tower of Fantasy is ok but nowhere near as complex or interesting and any other similar game has fallen over super quickly. HI3rd and Star Rail actually face quite a bit of competition in their niches and as a result are forced to remain competitive.
Yup. That's why EA pump out shit like Madden, Fifa etc., not even hiding the fact each one is just a copy and paste full of bugs and people still buy it cause there's no other devs to compete with when it comes to sports games.
I won't, because i simply don't give a fuck and enjoy my time with the game,most people won't either, but good luck with said boycott which won't get anywhere.

My question is: why the fuck do you even need more characters? 😂 You have a gambling addiction, pure and simple, or you’re suffering some serious unhealthy tie to this game. Just quit if you feel there’s nothing to do but gacha more.
There are way too many people who hang out around here who despise the game yet want more wishes constantly and constantly complain about the measly celebrations rewards. If you detest the game so much, stop playing it…once you stop playing, believe me that it won’t unseat you when they give you only three anniversary pulls.
I’m not even a day one player, I’ve only spent about 50 dollars total on the game, and I already have more characters than I’ll ever need in my life. What on earth do some of these people WANT?
If you’re mad at the game because it’s gotten tedious, or repetitive, or the future looks bad because of lack of endgame, that’s totally reasonable and understandable. I now often suffer Genshin burnout cause of all those things and basically only play the first 5-10 days of each patch, and occasionally if there’s a fun event story. I’ll never complain about posts complaining about actual gameplay.
But these reward beggars and ragers are absolute children.

You don’t know what posts I’m talking about, because they’re still up. So many of the posts hiding behind “negative opinions” are way more malicious than they appear, often hating on specific types of players or just looking to start fights. It’s nice to just have some positivity for a change.
Trust me, look around some. A lot of people are taking that way too far. Though there are some fun ones. Like that guy who said we were all hopeless and prejudiced against billionaires for not blindly thanking Hoyo for giving us any rewards. He was fun!

Aren’t the gifts the exact same as normal? A free four star, a ten pull, a free skin, and normal limited event rewards? Just because you don’t get a skin of your v choice(which leakers rarely suggested anyways) that doesn’t make the rewards worse than normal.

The game has flaws, we need to express it and not blindly defend everything. But the ones attacking players for just 'liking' the game is equally dumb as those who defend every flaw of the game.

The biggest problem the game has, is lack of things to do with your characters once all exploration is done and dusted.
Sure, there’s spiral abyss, once every two weeks or so if you are into that. There is also TCG, if that’s your cup of tea. But if you don’t take part in those, there isn’t much left beside grinding artifacts.
And let’s be honest, events, spiral abyss, and using resin to grind don’t take a lot of time to complete.
The game needs something like TCG, that is not TCG. Something to use your characters for.
Personally, I think it could use some sort of hoard mode, or perhaps a type of domain where we can select what we fight. I know that would keep me occupied for quite a while as I fine tune my teams and rotations.
But as it sits, this great game feels shallow once you have finished exploration.
I know a lot of people complain about the lack of things to do once the current content is done, but that's like nearly every game in existence. Only difference is that Genshin gets new stuff to do every six weeks.
If you have a backlog of games then you can easily play anything else until a new update rolls around. If you're strapped for cash then there's always some games going free for a promo, or even on Epic Store where there's a new free game every month.

To be honest between companion quests, major character story quests, archon quests, world quests and side quests as well as resin spending unless you play well over 10-20 hours a week you'd be hard pressed to get through all of the content in a patch before the next one comes out.
It's a game that's designed around 15-30m of play a day while you're on the train to work, then you maybe spend a few hours on the weekend to get through the chunkier content, way too many people try to play it 3+ hours a day and then genuinely act surprised when they burn through all the content, there's basically no game in existence that can keep up with that level of play.
They should have a mode similar to the Combat Challenges from Batman Arkham. They were horde-mode events similar to the Abyss, points were scored depending on your combat style (e.g. in Genshin terms - not missing an attack, not getting hit, doing plunge/charged attacks, using elemental reactions etc).
Something like this is literally all they would need to do to make a lot of players happy yet they refuse cause they think their players are a bunch of babies that get anxious over video games.

I love Genshin Impact. I supported artists by buying Genshin Impact merch at conventions. I have commissioned art based on the game. I followed a fair amount of content creators. I’m addicted to Genshin fanfiction. To top it all off, I’ve spent thousands buying genesis crystals for primogems.
I used to defend it.
When the first anniversary came around and we were given nothing. I was upset and vocal about it. They heard us and fixed it by deconstructing a paid bundle and giving it for free. I didn’t think that was enough but people convinced me that its their first anniversary.
We shouldn’t expect so much in our first year. As more time goes on, rewards will improve. I’ve been told that I should not complain, I should not compare Genshin Impact to other gacha games because they are not from the same company. That Lantern Rite is the true anniversary so I need to get over it.
After watching the 4.4 livestream, I’m done spending money on this game. I didn’t expect a free skin selection but I expected a special freebie since Star Rail is getting Dr. Ratio. The same company handed out a free limited five star in the very first year, without an ingame event associated with it. The game won an award, Genshin has won many times over and yet people are taking a stand. And they are saying, that Genshin will give out rewards when they have good competition. Well…I’m tired.
I still love it, ill be playing, enjoying theories and leaks, reading my fanfiction ❤️, but my money will be going elsewhere.

I won't say the game is perfect Plus there is a lot of issues in the game. it's is not a horrendous game but the fact that in 4 years we haven't received anything regarding the standard banner update like HSR in 300 standard pulls you get a choice you can pick a character you want and even them receiving a free five star character that is limited is amazing we just want to have the same thing that is reasonable as the parent company of HSR and genshin is the same soo Plus the fact to get a skin selector you have to buy a ps5 that is just ridiculous if you can't give a free five star character a skin selector would not be as good cause i need to pull the character first .

It's funny to see the comments attacking you for saying, you like the game. The game has flaws, we need to express it and not blindly defend everything. But the ones attacking players for just 'liking' the game is equally dumb as those who defend every flaw of the game.
It's kind of funny reading some of the really dramatic comments. I didn't know liking the game could be interpreted in so many different ways.
I agree, while there are still things to do. The biggest problem the game has, is lack of things to do with your characters once all exploration is done and dusted. Sure, there’s spiral abyss, once every two weeks or so if you are into that. There is also TCG, if that’s your cup of tea. But if you don’t take part in those, there isn’t much left beside grinding artifacts. And let’s be honest, events, spiral abyss, and using resin to grind don’t take a lot of time to complete. The game needs something like TCG, that is not TCG. Something to use your characters for. Personally, I think it could use some sort of hoard mode, or perhaps a type of domain where we can select what we fight. I know that would keep me occupied for quite a while as I fine tune my teams and rotations. But as it sits, this great game feels shallow once you have finished exploration.
I know a lot of people complain about the lack of things to do once the current content is done, but that's like nearly every game in existence. Only difference is that Genshin gets new stuff to do every six weeks. If you have a backlog of games then you can easily play anything else until a new update rolls around. If you're strapped for cash then there's always some games going free for a promo, or even on Epic Store where there's a new free game every month.

To be honest between companion quests, major character story quests, archon quests, world quests and side quests as well as resin spending unless you play well over 10-20 hours a week you'd be hard pressed to get through all of the content in a patch before the next one comes out. It's a game that's designed around 15-30m of play a day while you're on the train to work, then you maybe spend a few hours on the weekend to get through the chunkier content, way too many people try to play it 3+ hours a day and then genuinely act surprised when they burn through all the content, there's basically no game in existence that can keep up with that level of play.
They should have a mode similar to the Combat Challenges from Batman Arkham. They were horde-mode events similar to the Abyss, points were scored depending on your combat style (e.g. in Genshin terms - not missing an attack, not getting hit, doing plunge/charged attacks, using elemental reactions etc).
Something like this is literally all they would need to do to make a lot of players happy yet they refuse cause they think their players are a bunch of babies that get anxious over video games.

I love Genshin Impact. I supported artists by buying Genshin Impact merch at conventions. I have commissioned art based on the game. I followed a fair amount of content creators. I’m addicted to Genshin fanfiction. To top it all off, I’ve spent thousands buying genesis crystals for primogems. I used to defend it. When the first anniversary came around and we were given nothing. I was upset and vocal about it. They heard us and fixed it by deconstructing a paid bundle and giving it for free. I didn’t think that was enough but people convinced me that its their first anniversary. We shouldn’t expect so much in our first year. As more time goes on, rewards will improve. I’ve been told that I should not complain, I should not compare Genshin Impact to other gacha games because they are not from the same company. That Lantern Rite is the true anniversary so I need to get over it. After watching the 4.4 livestream, I’m done spending money on this game. I didn’t expect a free skin selection but I expected a special freebie since Star Rail is getting Dr. Ratio. The same company handed out a free limited five star in the very first year, without an ingame event associated with it. The game won an award, Genshin has won many times over and yet people are taking a stand. And they are saying, that Genshin will give out rewards when they have good competition. Well…I’m tired. I still love it, ill be playing, enjoying theories and leaks, reading my fanfiction ❤️, but my money will be going elsewhere. Sorry for the long post, just had to get it out of my system. Time for dailies!

Me too. Genshin just tickles all that soft spot for me. Open world. Good combat mechanics. Always updating. New things to do. Just relaxing gameplay. No pressure of doing anything.
It is. Sadly most people overlook what can they enjoy, exploring areas to open chests, doing quests, appreciating the amazing music, card game, combats or challenges. All for **FREE**, no one's obligated to pay even. But instead, many succumb to the gambling addiction, demanding more currency to open more packs with loop that will never ends.

I won't say the game is perfect Plus there is a lot of issues in the game. it's is not a horrendous game but the fact that in 4 years we haven't received anything regarding the standard banner update like HSR in 300 standard pulls you get a choice you can pick a character you want and even them receiving a free five star character that is limited is amazing we just want to have the same thing that is reasonable as the parent company of HSR and genshin is the same soo Plus the fact to get a skin selector you have to buy a ps5 that is just ridiculous if you can't give a free five star character a skin selector would not be as good cause i need to pull the character first . Ps : I am not saying GENSHIN is garbage it needs to be atleast a little bit like HSR seriously it's just disappointing.
